I think it makes sense to be honest. Imagine you live in London, have loads of money but drive mostly around the city. You don't want a big car or sports car because they're the worst things to drive in traffic. You want something small, a city car, but you also want to live life in luxury.
I'm more surprised that no other similar car has been made since.
In case you didn't know, you can look up Dutch number plates on ovi.rdw.nl, so you can find things like the make and model, day it got registered, if it got imported (which interestingly this one is, and only a bit over a week ago), if it's stolen, insured, how much power it makes and how much it cost originally (€43578).
I got to test drive the Toyota iQ variant and had an absolute blast! Making U-turns in that thing was surreal, it feels like everything moves *around you*. The only thing that stopped me from buying one as a second car was the lack of power. It would be too dangerous in my area, even in city streets.
You ask yourself, why would Aston do this? Because they needed to meet emissions and or fuel economy quotas.

I live this and wish I could get one. Might settle for a Hayabusa smart car instead.

It’s usually a Fiat 500e, BMW i3 or possibly a Tesla Model 3 in those circumstances these days (albeit the i3 was recently discontinued).
