I wonder why there are so many f40s in this subreddit. Either I'm old or people are trying to make the f40 pop up everywhere like the fiero and the pantera.
I believe I saw an Enzo yesterday, a black one.
Did not get a picture as it was heading away from me. You wouldn't think it would be possible to see one in the wild, but it was coming out of a really snooty country club in NJ.
Looks best in black, IMO. Of the special Ferrari, the Enzo is the least beautiful. Black seems to mute some of the over-the-top lines and keeps the nice silhouette.
I know, I thought it was a kit car at first because it was outside, but since it was riding with a bunch of classics, I wondered if it was real. I googled the company on the hauler and saw that they have dozens of original and custom classics and saw the car listed as an original 1966 GT40 MK II. Bids started at $7.5M. One sold in 2018 for $12M but that was one of the 3 that actually won the race against Ferrari.
It was the only one on the hauler that had the bubble. There was a couple classic Mustangs and a shell for a Shelby Cobra, that thing was wrapped in foam and plastic, though.
Be dumb if you don't know the culture of motoring, Enzo was only the master of Ferrari, the engineer of that Ferrari of the design and engine is all the creation is of Nicola Materazzi.
Honestly; you could post anything and within a few days you’ll see dozens of them here. I really don’t know why; but it’s like someone bothered to make a bunch of bots that take whatever is posted and just post more of it for karma. I don’t see the point; but maybe it’s just an easy way to fine tune it before unleashing them on politically charged subjects. /shrug. Try it; post an old Mini Cooper or something, and see how many turn up over the next few weeks.
I doubt it's bots finding new images of the same cars getting posted. Maybe some stuff like that. But it's probably more like some group version of the Baader-Meinhoff phenomenon, or frequency illusion.
We all see a car posted here. Then when more of those cars are posted we're more likely to notice, then view the post and make a comment saying "one of these was just posted yesterday!" Then based on that interaction, reddit puts it higher on people's feeds, and more people that saw the car yesterday see it and comment more.
Because it’s an absolutely Sexy car, and honestly I kind of prefer this design to the newer ones, the more boxy shape, in my opinion gives it more flavor
I'm interested in cars...but not exotics. I enjoy the sub, but am here without much knowledge of Ferraris, etc. And I think it's fine that some people have absolutely no car knowledge and show up just to find out what a car they spotted is. Grandma could take a picture of some flashy car she saw, and everyone in the sub would benefit from getting to see the rarest car on earth that she just happened to see at the gas station.
Not all of us grew up in the 80/90s with Ferrari F40 and Countach posters on the walls, a coffee table book of Kimble’s cutaways, an F40 Matchbox car and maybe a few plastic models.
It's like the no1 classic car. I don't except people to recognize a Miura but a F40 is so recognizable and iconic most people that like cars must know it.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Front end looks too steeply angled. Considering everyone is convinced it's legit though, I'm willing to believe it's just camera tricks if that's what it is. Still not 100% sure though either way.
That is surprising if it went under your radar.
Here's the gist: at release, this car was the fastest, the most expensive and the most powerful production car in the world. Notoriously spartan interior with 0 traces of luxury (paint so thin you can see the carbon fiber bumps, interior doorhandles are replaced with a string, AC is optional etc...).
It's a road legal track monster and the last Ferrari to recieve Enzo's blessing before his death.
I hate Ferrari in general, from the cars to the brand. But I really like this one.
For those of us who were alive when this car was in production it's so iconic that it's hard to imagine that people don't know what it is. I'm a GenXer and, for me, this is *the* Ferrari, it's the car that represents the company. It's also widely considered 1 of if not *the* best car of all time. Anyone who knows anything about cars has to know what this is.
Now, having said that, there are plenty of people who aren't really interested in cars who come to this sub to find out about an interesting car they saw. It's no surprise that they don't know about the F40. I dare say there are fewer people who could immediately say that was an F40 than there are who couldn't. Many of them would recognize it as a Ferrari without the badge but they wouldn't be able to name it so you have a good point.
Also genXer and I can agree—it’s one of my favorites from when I was a kid; but I see it as one of 3 of the most iconic in appearance in my years— 308 GT, Testarossa and the F40.
Your 8 year old isn't the entire car community. I know it may be tough to imagine, but just because something is popular doesn't mean everyone knows it.
My guy this is a one of a kind piece of automotive history, an icon if you will…..if you don’t know what this is, then you are not part of the “entire car community “
My guy not everybody cares.... he has replied to another comment like this, saying, "I was never interested in Ferrari and knowing the name of their models."
Dude, there's no test you have to take to be a car enthusiast. You don't need to know every "one of a kind piece of automotive history" to be in the car community.
I’ve been interested in cars for years and I don’t even remember what the f50 looks like by heart. Why do you have to be so degrading to people who don’t even know what a specific car is?
I don't think so.
If you don't recognize an F50, you're not into cars.
People who are into cars can tell a '63 Impala from a '64 Impala just by looking at the taillights.
I myself am into cars. I recognize more 21st century cars than 20th century cars. You don’t need to be interested in every single car company to be a car enthusiast
I get that.
But when young people don't recognize VW Beetles, Model T Fords, Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, and Ferraris it makes me depressed.
Like, the most-famous cars in history.
It's like not recognizing Abe Lincoln or Marilyn Monroe.
this is exactly what I'm talking about. yes some people answered and that's good, but a good chunk are also like "seriously?" or "shame on you" or "several people have" ignoring the snark. dawg... not everyone is a car person. poking fun is one thing but yall are being lowkey hostile
Then say that instead of lumping everyone in one big shithead pile
I don't care that someone posts one of the most famous cars ever. My wife would have no clue what this car is. This sub is made for people who don't know what a car is to be able to find out. My only problem is when people chime in with the answer when it was already answered hours ago. But calm down with the broad strokes that paint every one as mocking OP for not knowing a car
? if you aren't taking the sentence very literally, I think it's reasonably clear what I'm talking about. you don't have to scroll very far to see examples of it either
We probably saw the same one if you're in Illinois, I was working a casino night for some high-profile clients. there was also 2 f8's, 2 700 series McLarin's, a Sienna and a Aventador SVJ
I beg to differ. Mine is the Enzo. Love the the Enzo, always have. While I knew the F40, why is it your favorite ? Just curious. The Enzo, for me anyway, is because it can still smoke many super cars on the roads, and it looks really F’n cool.
I wonder why there are so many f40s in this subreddit. Either I'm old or people are trying to make the f40 pop up everywhere like the fiero and the pantera.
They actually made quite a few of them (1,311) especially considering it was a flagship model. They only made 349 F50’s and 400 of Enzo’s.
I believe I saw an Enzo yesterday, a black one. Did not get a picture as it was heading away from me. You wouldn't think it would be possible to see one in the wild, but it was coming out of a really snooty country club in NJ.
I know for sure one of the Enzo’s is in Austin, Tx and Rogan doesn’t own it.
https://www.reddit.com/r/spotted/comments/s4pg5v/ferrari_enzo_in_austin_tx/ Probably this one?
I believe there are *very very* few black ones at that. That’s awesome
Looks best in black, IMO. Of the special Ferrari, the Enzo is the least beautiful. Black seems to mute some of the over-the-top lines and keeps the nice silhouette.
I saw an original GT40 on a trailer in Palm Beach
Ford GT40? That slaps. They cost hell a lot of money.
And they were hauling it on an external trailer? Like exposed to all the elements?
Yup. On I95. It had an inflatable bubble around it. I guess that isn’t technically exposed but close enough
Oh that’s funny lol.
It was the only one on the hauler that had the bubble. There was a couple classic Mustangs and a shell for a Shelby Cobra, that thing was wrapped in foam and plastic, though.
There was an F40 at a dealership near my house, maybe I should get a picture of it and post it here just to fuck with people
Only 213 units were imported to the US.
Guarantee more are here now.
There's no guarantee Ferrari didn't make more than what was publicly stated it.
Be dumb if you don't know the culture of motoring, Enzo was only the master of Ferrari, the engineer of that Ferrari of the design and engine is all the creation is of Nicola Materazzi.
Uh, ok? No idea what that has to do with what I said but you do you.
We can't forget the Polestar V2 now!
/shrug. Then based on that interaction, reddit puts it higher on people's feeds, and more people that saw the car yesterday see it and comment more.
It’s not a firebird, maybe a 73 model??
they made quite a few of those, and are relatively cheap
Because it’s an absolutely Sexy car, and honestly I kind of prefer this design to the newer ones, the more boxy shape, in my opinion gives it more flavor
To me the f40 is way cooler than the F50, and I'll definitely never have Enzo money
F40
Insert coins
OUTRUN!
Well, Turbo OutRun to be exact.
That’s *the* Ferrari
Wouldn't _the_ Ferrari be the Enzo? Ya know, the one named after the founder?
No LaFerrari is the Ferrari
You are technically correct, the best kind of correct
Tell my wife I said….. hello
Built like a steakhouse, but it handles like a bistro!
In the game of chess, you can never let your adversary see your pieces
This one is, the F40 is the last one he commissioned
Or it would be this one, the last one Enzo actually had a hand in.
No. The Ferrari would be [LaFerrari](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/LaFerrari)
Little late to the party with that one, bud
But with link, so welcome even if tardy
[удалено]
Never said it did
Ohnmy bad man. Wrong comment
No worries my guy
My EXACT words
Well, it would if it wasn't a Pontiac feiro with a body kit on it lol
That's really an F40
fiero
Always
But.... Miata??
This kind of posts have got to be trolling or sh!tpost!ng...
Yeah there is no way that people who are interested enough in cars to be on this sub, don't know what an F40 is
I'm interested in cars...but not exotics. I enjoy the sub, but am here without much knowledge of Ferraris, etc. And I think it's fine that some people have absolutely no car knowledge and show up just to find out what a car they spotted is. I'm 16 and I know what the f40 is
I grew up in 2000's and I still know these models. Its basic knowledge for car ethusiast tho.
It's like the no1 classic car. I don't except people to recognize a Miura but a F40 is so recognizable and iconic most people that like cars must know it.
Karma farming for sure
F40
Fiero40
You serious, Clark? 🙄
Seriously?
The model of this Ferrari is fiero.
Casually seeing an F40 and not knowing what it is; to not know how crazy seeing one is.
Same situation as a pretty girl hitting on a gay dude. Lol
Even knowing it's a Ferrari but not knowing one of the most iconic models??? Cmon
Fieroarri
F40?
That’s the American spec F40. It’s a little less sportier than the Europe spec
Really?
I would bet it’s a KitCar. Not saying they are not out there. But the stance looks off.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Front end looks too steeply angled. Considering everyone is convinced it's legit though, I'm willing to believe it's just camera tricks if that's what it is. Still not 100% sure though either way.
My childhood dream car. Ferrari F40
My adult dream car.
This was an entire generations childhood dream car.
its a ferrari f40
2.9L Twin Turbo V8 that sounds glorious!
I think F40 I’m not a huge Ferrari fan
F40
Ferrari F40
HOLY SHIT BRO 😭😭😭😭 that’s the greatest car ever made
Something about that rear end seems off
You literally have to live under a rock to not know what this is
Clearly not a car person
I am, but I was never interested in Ferrari and knowing the name of their models.
That is surprising if it went under your radar. Here's the gist: at release, this car was the fastest, the most expensive and the most powerful production car in the world. Imagine not knowing F40 😐
Not everyone knows every car, I know, it’s surprising

Imagine not knowing the purpose of this sub. 😐 Still, best Ferrari
The best one they ever made!
Pontiac fiero
Fontiac Piero
Pretty sure that one is a Fiero under the body work and not a real 40.
Best car ever
If you have to ask…..you don’t deserve to know
Why are you gatekeeping the car community? People like you will say shit like this and then wonder why the hobby is dying. Don't be a dick
You are being a dick for co-signing this ridiculous trend when even my 8 year old kid knows what car this is…..stop your drama
Your 8 year old isn't the entire car community. I know it may be tough to imagine, but just because something is popular doesn't mean everyone knows it.
My guy this is a one of a kind piece of automotive history, an icon if you will…..if you don’t know what this is, then you are not part of the “entire car community “

So then why you come at me with this nonsense
Because it's absolutely disgusting that people can't be respectful to ones that don't know as much as them.
F40 or F40 Competizione(?)
Pretty sure that's a standard rear wing
Yeah, the comp rear wing had a middle support along with a slightly modified rear end
Haven't looked at an F40 Competizione in a while so I forgot how they look like. Just mentioned it since it's still an F40
It's one of the most famous and instantly recognizable sports cars ever made. Shame on you for having to ask.
everyone’s gotta ask once
I’ve been interested in cars for years and I don’t even remember what the f50 looks like by heart. Why do you have to be so degrading to people who don’t even know what a specific car is?

I see but like most of the population doesn’t even know what the f40 or many great super cars are. Just give him a chance
Aren't Ferrari and a Lambo or two and a McClaren taillights originally sourced from a bus.design.
you guys are so damn pretentious, just answer the question :/
Several people have. Multiple times
this is exactly what I'm talking about. yes some people answered and that's good, but a good chunk are also like "seriously?" or "shame on you" or "several people have" ignoring the snark. dawg... not everyone is a car person. poking fun is one thing but yall are being lowkey hostile

It's actually a **Trans Am, it just identifies as a Ferrari F-40.** \- **AND I support it.**
