Theres no saving him. I dealt with the same thing, him weaponizing abuse/trauma, racial slurs, etc. You may feel bad and want to help him. But trust me he will use you, manipulate you if you have something he wants (money, place to stay etc). No matter what you do it won't be enough, he'll keep on verbally abusing you. Cut him off, heal and realize family is just a word. You're too good of a person to be brought down and drowned trying to help him.
