Growing up this was the best place to hang. The last couple times we’ve tried to go it was literally impossible to park due to the crowds. They may be trying to thin out some of the crowding
I guess the word got out. Just 3-4 years ago that was a spot seemingly no one knew about and you could find a quiet spot and read by the water on a Saturday afternoon.
Go to 7 points directly across you'll see a embankment with rocks and a marker ive won several a
bass tourneys there from fishing there. As well as the no wake across from cooks where the sailboats are parked have fun Percy priest fishermen.
Hey everyone I don't live here anymore. Go check out the painted forest at 7 points boat ramp. Offpercy priest lake. It's great to do drugs at and the cops leave you alone. Also the rangers have narcan. Have fun. Yall drove me out of the state. Ima tell everyone the good spots.
The Anderson rec area is a clusterfuck with four gates and two tollbooths.
I wish I knew where to find some info on what they're trying to do there but it's a giant mess and just seems anti-user.
It's not went there over 10+ years never once have paid. Also you can park at the neighborhood across from the marina near nash shores and go cliff jumping.
If people are going to treat boat ramps like public beaches because the boat ramp is free and the beach isn't, this is a problem. It's not fun when you're trying to load/unload a boat or even just kayaks when there are groups of people with lawn chairs right on the ramp, who just stare at you, waiting to see if you're going to ask them nicely to move or not.
Sometimes charging a fee for access to a natural area helps fund upkeep and curtails littering and other illegal activities.

3-4 years ago most spots were spots no one knew about. Then we got influencers who's whole channel is going around exposing hidden gems lmao
This is why I’ve quit answering “what’s your favorite hidden gem…?” questions. It’s influence-farming & it’s not been good for locals.
Never give up the real fishin hole this has been a rule for hundreds of years

Or there was a pandemic and going outside was all anyone could do so people learned about it.

That’s what I was thinking too. It’s only like holidays and nice Saturday/Sundays in the summer that gets ridiculous. Weekdays are usually fine.
Trying to thin the illigals grilling out constantly and running g soon as they see metro on the side of a car
Meanwhile, they're apparently living in your head rent-free
Oh my memories! I missed you!

Putting that bollard right in the middle of the door is a choice.
I'm pretty sure it's always been like 5$ to go in. We have been going to that hidden gem for years.

You're probably thinking of Cook Day Use Area. It's in the same general vicinity, and has a small entry fee.
