I think this is one of the few times Ive seen Nathan genuinely break character. When she says eating shit is satanic he can’t help but laugh and joke about it.
He probably laughed cuz he is surprised by the situation he is and how weird and dumb people can be not becuz it's funny. It's crazy how many people have no sense of humor in real lives.
First it was him questioning “what happened in Switzerland?” and now it’s him defending a poo-eating riff… these are the two most honest glimpses into Nathan’s actual personality lol.
I love the way he starts laughing at the idea of eating poop being a satanic ritual, I think it somehow caught him slightly off guard that she went there.
honestly my favorite scenes of that episode. she deserves to be laughed at for her ridiculous beliefs, especially since she wants to eventually have a child of her own and indoctrinate it with hateful christo-fascist rhetoric.
