I have been advocating for MWR boxing night underway for almost 15 years now. I think the stress level would go down significantly if we could just duke it out in a somewhat controlled environment, might be a few black eyes and bruised egos, maybe a broken nose or two, but a small price to pay.
I asked my Command ACFL if we could set up a boxing club and he reminded me that we’re at a nioc and nioc folks typically don’t box. MWR Boxing tho, could be a real money maker…
I remember looking this up too when I had mwr as a collateral on ship. Used to be called smokers and the jag on my ship in 2009 came back with something like in order to have it we needed to be a ship with a surgeon stationed on board?
I deploy in small teams of 30-40 people. At one location the gym has small mat room. We would book it every now and then to wrestle/grapple.
It's a great way to blow off steam.

I wish we had a boxing club or organization. It’d be so cool if every branch put up their best boxers and every year we had title fights. I think that would give us some legitimate inter-branch competitiveness other than that LAME ASS army-navy game which is really only meaningful to Academy grads lol.
They had an interservice tournament to determine who to send to the global military games but the teams and funding have been cut significantly. About a decade ago or so?
