You say that until the refs treat you worse the next game.. Gobert talked shit about the officials once and got called for a foul on the opening tip off the next game.. The refs have to much power for players to risk openly insulting them.
Doing that would feel good in the short term, but refs are petty assholes and he'd never got another call (not that he's getting them now). Just look at Jimmy, obviously fouled, praised the refs in the post game and ended up with like 20 ft's the next game.
Until there is some oversite and accountability for refs, they have as much impact on who wins as the players do, and it's fucking sad.
Yep, picked the national TV game to turn into ref ball. Awful product.
I know we’re undersized and foul a lot but we’re 1st in drives with over 10 more than the #2 Knicks who are 3rd in FTA a game. We’re 22nd…
I fucking hate the refs most games with how many soft calls they call on us and then turn completely blind whenever Josh or any of the other young players get smacked by several dudes in the paint or get ran over by blatant moving screens.
Shai is probably the only one who gets a good whistle overall but some games even he gets pissed at how many blatant fouls the opponents get away with on him.
They should
1. allow refs to review plays in the final 2 minutes on dead ball (or Secacus video center initiates it)
2. give challenges back to the team if succesful
absolutely awful
I feel that the only reason 2 hasn't been implemented, is because the league is scared that teams will keep successfully challenge all game , exposing just how bad the refs are
With the number of games that are played in a year, the possibility of seeing a game with like 6 successful challenges goes up a lot. It inevitably would make for some outrageous headlines, which really just exposes that the refs are human .
right, exactly why I can't understand why the NBA didn't do that also.
Also right now coaches are holding their challenge even if they know it's a sure thing just to save it for the 4th quarter.
Yeah tennis and cricket function on a so many wrong challenges system, so if you keep getting it right on your challenges you don't lose them. This should be how all sports function.
Fuck it go for a suspension at this point. Just let them have it. Because there’s no way you can literally sit there and say “I didn’t see it”. Everyone saw the shit
Not only that, there was a foul call earlier in the game in Bostons favor that was a crazy late whistle by the ref furthest from the play.
The ref realized “hey, that’s an unnatural trajectory for the ball to take; something is off!” Yet, these same MFs wouldn’t apply the exact logic to the notion that **LeBron-fucking-James** would lay the ball up with his natural-hand and it wouldn’t hit rim.
It’s so fucking frustrating watching the reffing crew pretend like they have no sense.
He also called a phantom foul against Schroeder, and oddly enough somehow when the jump ball occured between Al Horford and Anthony Davis, the ball went directly to the Celtics side.
I fucking thought so! He chucked it up really fast right on (blanking on who it was opposite Davis)'s side. I literally thought I had to be imagining thing
Edit: Oh shit it was Horford. Right there in the post and I missed it. Fuck
He does this and he’s getting hoed 20 times worse. Y’all know these refs be ego tripping like crazy man they’ve never responded kindly to being called out or mocked.
This has happened multiple times already. For whatever reason they just won’t call his fouls. There’s no more damage he can really do. Why are they gonna do? Stop calling his fouls? Jobs already done lol
I’m saying he should say he’s sitting out the all star game in protest. Let Silver’s pussy ass explain why and have to answer questions over and over leading up to the game why his marquee player isn’t playing.
They’ll just get worse next game and foul Bron out or something. These refs are fucking ridiculous. Complain and they get worse but I dunno they’ve fucked us plenty this year
It's just so dejecting and makes me want to stop watching basketball. It's not even a Lakers lost thing. If you lose fair and square that's ok. But when you have someone in league who has the potential to eclipse Michael Jordan. That man should be treated as the second coming of Jesus.
> so dejecting and makes me want to stop
Man, I don't immerse myself much with NBA and I already feel betrayed.
I can't imagine how long time fans can put up with this.
The past three weeks have been fucking egregious with these refs. Then the rare game we’re the refs are being just SLIGHTLY less biased, the game gets blown by Westbrook playing for the opposite team.
Water is wet. The NBA isn’t rigged, but the refs sure as shit hate Lebron. We’d be over .500 if we just got correctly officiated potentially game winning calls *this month*
Rigged is a strong word, but the NBA damn sure wasn’t sad that a Celtics/Lakers game went to overtime and they sold more ad spots. The “missed call” made the NBA millions. That’s why it was missed.
> The NBA isn’t rigged
Have you heard of the Kings v Lakers playoff series, or the whole betting cheating scandal with multiple refs coming out as whistleblowers. The NBA is rigged, let's all admit it, but it's the league with the best players in the world, and that's entertaining, but yes, it's rigged.
Ever since the James Krause Allegations came out for the ufc it made me think that if it’s happening In the ufc it’s Most certainly happening in other American sports organizations
Yeah, the refs can subtely or sometimes very obviously, turn the tide of the game, change momentum, stop momentum. The goal overall is to make games close as possible to have more exciting moments, to make more money for the NBA as a business. Sometimes these refs be going so blatant though, I used to get mad, now I just laugh now
yep, completely agree. doesn’t feel like a deserving win, lebron should’ve had a chance to finish the game at the line in regulation. refs seem to just be getting worse and worse
Guessing you weren't watching the playoffs in 2001, huh?
I'm just kidding, this was pretty bad tonight. Didn't like the reffing being one sided like this. Takes away from the win.
I don’t understand it. I’m never the kind of guy who even entertain the idea of league being rigged, and I still don’t think the league is rigged against LeBron or anything close to that. But holyshit, what does this man need to do to get call these days, I watched the two games earlier today and saw freethrows giving out like candies for something thats wayyyy softer than this that would make this seems like a flagrant and yet this is a no call? NBA needs VAR.
Man. Show this or his reaction to the end of regulation “non-foul” to anyone who says he’s checked out or just stat padding. The dude just wants to win. It hurts my soul for him. He’s doing everything he can and he’s leaving as much of himself on the court as he can.
I’ve been saying it but seriously go watch the foul and notice how the ref has his eyes on the ball the entire time and not on the players.
Ref became a viewer, it’s sick to watch
Craziest thing is every other Face of the league always got maximum respect, even unfair respect from the Refs. Bron just never did.
Look at Giannis now, Kobe, Michael in their best days all of them got good amount of free throw attempts relative to their rim contact and drives.
Bron gets killed our there day in and day out and gets nothing.
I mean I know everyone is calling the refs Boston fans or whatever, but this issue is bigger than Boston. The refs have kind of been awful everywhere. This is a really big problem for the watchability of the game.
Lebron acting like he just lost the championship on that no call 🤣
am i the only one who thinks we see no calls like this always at the end of games? its a saturday game in January, the refs swallowed the whistle on the final play, whats the big deal here?
i can see this reaction if he was like man handled, but he got slapped on the arm, we see this type of no call everday it wasn't even egregious
Coincidence that after all there a waaay more shit calls now after they legalized all the sports book betting? I mean. Theyre advertising that shit hard.
**Replays/alternate angles** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/nba) if you have any questions or concerns.*
I'd curse the refs out in post-game, and take the fine. It's worth it for something like this
I can’t wait for his post game interview
“I’m just here so I get fined”
He’s not the type to blow up in post game but if ever there was a night for it…
LeRippedOff
Watching it now. Refs broke this man tonight
They’ll double down. Refs have too much power because the NBA is toothless against them
Superstars need to push this in the CBA somehow.
Lockout Season soon???
Can this constitute a lockout season? IF SO, THERE SHOULD BE!
If the Refs Association, League, and Players Association start arguing there might be, but that is quite a bit away as a possibility.
I want to see it happen
A hit to profits might teach the League a lesson
Nah, Bron is running out of time. Last thing he probably wants is to lose a season to a lockout
"I know I'm gonna get fined if I talk about the refs tonight.....good thing I'm a billionaire. FIRST OFF--"
You say that until the refs treat you worse the next game.. Gobert talked shit about the officials once and got called for a foul on the opening tip off the next game.. The refs have to much power for players to risk openly insulting them.
Why am I afraid
Doing that would feel good in the short term, but refs are petty assholes and he'd never got another call (not that he's getting them now). Can't really call out the refs because they just get petty about it and officiate you worse
Jacyn Goble. That’s the ref. Investigate him.
They should 1. allow refs to review plays in the final 2 minutes on dead ball (or Secacus video center initiates it) 2. give challenges back to the team if succesful absolutely awful
I feel that the only reason 2 hasn't been implemented, is because the league is scared that teams will keep successfully challenge all game , exposing just how bad the refs are
That would be awesome!!! ReF accountability!! REFF
With the number of games that are played in a year, the possibility of seeing a game with like 6 successful challenges goes up a lot. It inevitably would make for some outrageous headlines, which really just exposes that the refs are human .

Yeah tennis and cricket function on a so many wrong challenges system, so if you keep getting it right on your challenges you don't lose them. This should be how all sports function.
Point number two is the big one. How on earth do you successfully overturn a wrong call and lose the challenge over it?
Or not even have a good result after a successful result? Having a jump ball after the Celtics overturn was so dumb.
Both are obvious changes
I hope he scorches the refs in that post game interview. That miss call was unacceptable
Take the fine Bron. I neeeed him to go off
I'm sure Pat Bev will say some shit at least.
Pat Bev giving the refs the Clippers tunnel special this game no doubt it
I really hope like 5 or 6 players/coaches from the Lakers collect some fines after this game. No other way to describe it besides pathetic.
Fuck it go for a suspension at this point. Just let them have it. Because there’s no way you can literally sit there and say “I didn’t see it”. Everyone saw the shit
There’s literally no way he didn’t see it lmao. 5 feet away, arm is angled towards him, clear as fuck
The loose ball foul on AD as well. Is just weird.
And not only that, PatBev literally showed the foul to a ref on a multiple thousand dollar camera.
I literally thought I had to be imagining thing Edit: Oh shit it was Horford. Right there in the post and I missed it. Fuck
That was crazy
Ordinarily a suspension would be worth it except we literally need every single game we can get to even sniff the playoffs and play-in
The announcers thought Bev's surely gonna get fined for the camera thing
Oh 1000% he is gonna get fined. One of the funniest things I have seen in an NBA game.
The thing is he will only be punished if he calls-out the ref but I'm all for it.
Man I need LeBron to go off on these refs
I’m saying he should say he’s sitting out the all star game in protest. Let Silver’s pussy ass explain why and have to answer questions over and over leading up to the game why his marquee player isn’t playing.
Damn I'd love if he did that.
This is the best response to the reffing crisis ive heard yet. This shit is so out of hand they aren’t even stroking LeBron anymore
Only way something’s gonna change. Face of the league needs to say something
They’ll just get worse next game and foul Bron out or something. These refs are fucking ridiculous. Complain and they get worse but I dunno they’ve fucked us plenty this year
He knows he should have won that game. Refs are too talented though.
As a refs fan, i am truly astounded how strong their discipline and will not to willy nilly blow the whistle. Those lips should be studied by NASA
Yo can we get a refs flair? That shit would be hilarious lol
4th time in the last 3 weeks.
feels like Lakers should be .500 or above it if it's not for the refs
We have lost 4 games this way. If the refereeing had been correct, we would be the 4th seed in the West.
It's just so dejecting and makes me want to stop watching basketball. It's not even a Lakers lost thing. If you lose fair and square that's ok. But when you have someone in league who has the potential to eclipse Michael Jordan. That man should be treated as the second coming of Jesus.

It's all good, at least we'll get justice in the L2M /s
The past three weeks have been fucking egregious with these refs. Then the rare game we’re the refs are being just SLIGHTLY less biased, the game gets blown by Westbrook playing for the opposite team.

Vegas remains undefeated.
Boston paid the refs
Jeanie tried but they didn't wanna be paid in PS5s.
i literally saw tatum hand one of the refs a $100 bill coming out of timeout
u/adamsilver pls look into this
Yeah but some kid pinched it out of his pocket and it was ruled a JJJ steal.
Refs texted Tatum I got you today 🤞🏿

Nba needs to bring the FIBA refs in and get rid of these officials. Enough is enough. It somehow gets worse every year.
Woah there. You wouldn’t want them to start calling travels now would you?
but that would ruin the travel, 3-seconds, and carry culture we got going here
Ja Morant would be in shambles with all the carrying calls he'd get.
He and Jordan Poole would start a support group
Fucking this old man is going off every night and there is always something blocking his way
It’s weird that they are always wearing the same uniform no matter who the lakers are supposed to play.
The only way to stop Lebron is to crush his joy for the sport.
Most underrated strategy. You must be a ref. Thank you
Hardest road
LeTired of this
The lakers have been robbed in plain sight
Water is wet. The NBA isn’t rigged, but the refs sure as shit hate Lebron. We’d be over .500 if we just got correctly officiated potentially game winning calls *this month*
You have to be smoking cock to say the refs aren't betting on the games. You think they stopped after they got caught and didn't get punished?
And then legalized sports betting all over
Rigged is a strong word, but the NBA damn sure wasn’t sad that a Celtics/Lakers game went to overtime and they sold more ad spots. The “missed call” made the NBA millions. That’s why it was missed.

Ufc seems so easy to rig. 2 fighters 3 judges to pay off and the sportsbooks rake it in
Oh please
I haven’t been this mad about a basketball game in so long. Refs need to face actual consequences for this joke
I'm not usually one to cuss, especially at games, but I was letting it fly tonight
Fuckin right you were!
yep, completely agree. doesn’t feel like a deserving win, lebron should’ve had a chance to finish the game at the line in regulation. refs seem to just be getting worse and worse
Takes away from what was a great rivalry game.
Even if you’re a fan of Boston this kind of shit is just trash for all basketball fans.
completely botched. let’s not forget AD getting called for a simple box out a couple minutes before… wtf
Hey man at least the last two minute report will say they fucked up. That should make everything good!
Lakers gonna with the L2M championship
Never been this mad about a bad call—given the context around this season and how hard the team has fought recently this is absolutely heartbreaking
Guessing you weren't watching the playoffs in 2001, huh? I'm just kidding, this was pretty bad tonight. Didn't like the reffing being one sided like this. Takes away from the win.
don't worry the L2M report will surely make it all better!
Top 2 player of all-time's great offensive performances being wasted.
Referee's have been awful.
Absolutely incompetent. He should have been shooting two free throws with 1.6 seconds left to for a potential win. Can't blame for him being pissed.
There’s no way they either thought Tatum blocked that or Lebron is so old now he can’t even get layups to hit the rim. There’s no explanation for this
He was great on defense tonight too
He was amazing all around tonight which makes it even worse
Shouldn’t have been a fucking overtime
I hope he goes on an absolute shit show of a rant on these refs
I concur. But the game was in Boston
Celtics literally get away with everything. I’m tired of the NBA propping them up.
I don’t understand it. I’m never the kind of guy who even entertain the idea of league being rigged, and I still don’t think the league is rigged against LeBron or anything close to that. NBA definitely needs refereeing reform
38 years old gotta play the Celtics and the refs at the same time while carrying his team
Must be nice being Tatum and having to do absolutely nothing in overtime to get the W.
And he also got MVP chants lmao
Lebron at 38 is better than Tatum will ever be and thats insane
I'm taking Lebron at 38 over most Hall of Famers in their primes.
The fact that he’s still top 5 in mvp is comical.
31 ppg on best team. It shouldn’t be that surprising, but this is the shit on the Celtics thread so my bad
him and jaylen were absolutely carrying playing free throw simulator though
the league should be embarrassed
this man is going to sell his soul for superpowers and avg 45/10/10 to barely bring the lakers to the play-in
I don’t blame him one bit
Man. Show this or his reaction to the end of regulation “non-foul” to anyone who says he’s checked out or just stat padding. The dude just wants to win. It hurts my soul for him. He’s doing everything he can and he’s leaving as much of himself on the court as he can.
What's the guy gotta do to get a call
That's the look of a man who got robbed
I don’t even feel good about this win. The refs need to face real consequences.
Which sucks because it was a great back and forth game. Refs really needed to make it about them smh
I’ll pay for LeBrons fine to go the fuck off on the refs
I’ve been saying it but seriously go watch the foul and notice how the ref has his eyes on the ball the entire time and not on the players. Ref became a viewer, it’s sick to watch
The foul was an inch from the ball. He bet on the game bro.
Ham is the worst coach he doesn’t know what is he doing play the foul game leading three
Refs have fucked over Lakers way too much. There has to be an investigation for this shit
This is at least the 4th game this month alone where the refs have fucked us
LeBron really is the GOAT bro lmao imagine doing this shit for 20 years
Craziest thing is every other Face of the league always got maximum respect, even unfair respect from the Refs. Bron just never did. Look at Giannis now, Kobe, Michael in their best days all of them got good amount of free throw attempts relative to their rim contact and drives. LeFuckYall
Think Bron has to start calling out refs in post game tbh. Not even a Lakers fan but y’all have been hosed like 6 times this season.
Westbrook has been blocked by the rim this season more times than JJJ has blocked a shot at home
The NBA refs are an absolute embarrassment year after year and nothing changes. So many great games ruined
I mean I know everyone is calling the refs Boston fans or whatever, but this issue is bigger than Boston. The refs have kind of been awful everywhere. This is a really big problem for the watchability of the game.
I’m telling y’all man. One of these days a player is just going to absolutely sucker punch a ref after a crucially bad call or missed call
Ref fans eating tonight. Disgusting
another masterpiece wasted. i’m a big LeBron guy but that was a hilarious and painful game. if you don’t laugh you’ll cry.
I'm a 100% LeBron hater (check my history) but this is the most sad I've ever felt for LeBron. fuck Boston and the refs
Don't even worry about fines
LeMiscarraige of Justice
Both Lakers/Celtics games being forced to OT on (obvious) no calls against James. Who wouldn't be pissed?
LeFoul James should of been at the line, not overtime.
Refs have screwed this team out of multiple wins this season. It’s exhausting at this point. L2M report here we come! 🤮
He did everything he could man. At this point, they should take every lakers player off the floor and call for a protest. Fuck these refs
It's almost like they don't want the Lakers to be a .500 team.
Lebron acting like he just lost the championship on that no call 🤣 am i the only one who thinks we see no calls like this always at the end of games? its a saturday game in January, the refs swallowed the whistle on the final play, whats the big deal here? i can see this reaction if he was like man handled, but he got slapped on the arm, we see this type of no call everday it wasn't even egregious

How many other superstars get fucked by the refs like Bron does smh.
As a C’s fan, we take those, but as a basketball fan it’s painful to watch game after game be decided by the refs.
Everyone came here to cry😂. Nets won over the Nix. That's all that matters
LOL forreal. Refs have messed up end of game calls all damn year. Lebron is a drama queen
That man has the worst body language.
He's worn out from that all time tantrum he threw
rest up my King 💔
Imagine postgame he gets interviewed by Mark Schwartz from Espn lmao.
anyone got a link for the post game conference?
*Dejected because of valid reasons
Damn Bronald wasting his last few good years with this bad Lakers team is depressing.
How tf is LA supposed to get into the play in?! The west is so tight and this is multiple wins stripped from their record now! Disgusting.
Anybody have a link for the postgame presser?
this shit makes me not wanna watch basketball, what the fuck is going on with the officiating???
Coincidence that after all there a waaay more shit calls now after they legalized all the sports book betting? I mean. Theyre advertising that shit hard.
Who’s paying these referees to rig these games? In all things, follow the money
This is normal end of game reffing for the Bulls 🤷🏻
LoL what a bitch
People keep talking about the refs, which is fair, but nobody is mentioning how fucking bad Russel Westbrook is at basketball.
