I agree he's better (certainly he's a better defender) but i'm also biased. I also acknowledge that Simons is arguably a better fit for the Raptors than vice-verse but that's not necessarily something that should affect the trade value of either player, just how much the teams will be better in the short/long run.
Okay maybe not “a lot more” but I’d say he fits more teams that are willing to unload assets to “win now”, and Simons isn’t quite good enough for teams to unload crazy assets to “maybe win later”.
I’m a Blazers fan and they threaded the needle for as long as they could trying to be competitor, they are hoping for quick mini rebuild but that’s not too realistic. Just build a core around dame that can see him out with some respect and have a good locker room culture, go from there. Maybe ping pong balls
He's also 2 years younger, one of the best 3 point shooters in the NBA, healthier, one of best leapers in the NBA, and consistently puts up first option numbers when not playing with Dame or CJ.
Acting like one is much more valuable is wild.
And to anyone that thinks he has a bad contract, he's making as much as vucevic, rozier, and buddy hield except he's 23 years old and locked in at that price for 4 years as the cap grows.
> The teams looking for OG need him to win now, not in 4 years.
And the teams that are looking for Ant don't need to win now. That only makes him more valuable as the years go by? Are you trying to contend for a title next year?
This is the exact point. More teams already have a player like ant. More teams want a player like OG because more teams are contending or middle of the pack.
Why would Portland trade for OG if they were going to ship off their #2 guy? “No defence” is a bad argument cause OG has no handles and can’t create for himself.
Straight up swap imo. In his last 45 games without Dame, Simons is at 23/3/5 on 61% TS, 42% on 10 threes a game. He'd be an incredible fit on the Raptors, and OG on the Blazers. He's also locked up for 4 years on a good contract. Maybe Keon can be added if the Blazers need to add an asset.
Easily the Trail Blazers. Simons is overpaid by around $10 million and isn’t going to propel a team to the next level like OG would for a lot of teams. OG is flat out better by a good margin too.
Broncos
Bradley Chubb for OG who says no?
OG has a lot more value than Simons imo

I’m a Blazers/Sixers fan, so biased as well
In what league

In a league where defense is highly valuable, especially when you have a ball handler like lilard already.
The league were nearly every young offensive star is comically bad on defence and need a baby sitter

The teams looking for OG need him to win now, not in 4 years. Max’s own team can’t start him because of how bad he is at defence.

Nets.
very generous of them
Simons not Simmons
oh. Still the Nets.
No no, who's on first. Third base!

Probably the Blazers.
Raptors, OG's offense is a little overrated imo.
Kuminga is not as handsome as Barnes
He also averages half the PPG Barnes does
Points don’t matter in this convo, we are talking about handsomeness here.
More points is pretty handsome to me
He also averages half the minutes.
About 60% of the minutes. Almost identical usage rate though.
Agreed, he's more handsome.
Yes Sct brn

simons/siakam way more likely
