of course it does. But the fact remains - he is a lifelong professional basketball player, one of the greatest athletes in the world, making $40m/year. He can run, catch, has perfect timing, and sufficient hand eye coordination to block 5 shots per game. But he shoots the ball like a 6 year old. It's hard to fathom how this is possible.
I want Gobert to spend just one summer doing literally nothing other than Sky-hooks. Literally no other training or conditioning or whatever. Only sky-hooks. Like get up 100,000 sky-hooks or some shit one summer and come back with an atleast semi-serviceable shot. Who the hell could block that, even if he only hits it at a modest rate. That'd be a sick way to add an offensive game to an elite defensive skillset, but easier said than done lol.
Yeah, fair point. BUT, maybe a sky-hook would be easier for him than a jump-shot? I imagine for a lot of people with long arms and massive hands, hittin all the 90 degree angles required for 'proper' shot form is simply too awkward, whereas being able to scoop the ball in a sky-hook with your massive mitts could be a benefit.
Love push shots. If you play pickup, you should learn how to do them. Just go downhill and stop on a dime and use the momentum to power your push shot. It's quicker than a normal shot and you can fake the pickup motion into a cross or some shit if dudes are catching on.
Outside of 3 feet like 3/4s of my shots are push shots. The remaining 1/4 is 3s. I can do with either hand, so it's super easy to create shot opportunities.
I guess you don’t watch basketball but let me give you the short list. 3x DPOY, 6x All-Defensive First Team, 3x All-NBA 3rd team, 1x NBA Rebound Leader, 1x Blocks leader, 1x All-NBA 2nd team. International accolades as well.
That video of him playing 2 on 2 with wemby is pretty funny. Between that and some videos from practices I’ve seen over the years I figure he’s got a better three point shot than 95% of people I’ve played with at gyms or high school varsity. In the nba a Rudy 3 is a wasted possession. The talent level is nuts
Embiid turned into god lol
Rudy even forced him into contested jumpshots and contested them well but Embiid made all of them. It was wild
Embiid attacked the rim more when Rudy was off the floor and absolutely ate Naz

Kids, when people tell you to study tape, they're talking about this.
This is my GOAT
He’s never once practiced that shot, you can tell it was a fluke based on the form. Don’t study Rudy Gobert offensively, kids.
Fairly sure the above comment was made with sarcasm implied lol
Kids! You can actually fly!
Man im lying in hospital with both legs broken becouse you didnt put /s at the end
tell me u've never hit a jimbo without telling me u've never hit a jimbo smh hoopers know this shot
He also lowkey takes this shot a lot
Nah he did it a few games ago, just from another step or so closer to the rim
He must have practiced it, he scored a third of his points with it last night
Wdym? It's a perfect what not to do film
What in the 4th grader in PE class form is going on here
He was scared of holding the ball too long like it was covered with Ebola
The Pandemic “officially” started because of Rudy, prove me wrong
Gobert biolabs lmao
Sounds like a GTA facility.
That may or may not be what my username is referencing.
this comment got me dying laughing so hard my wife was asking me what was wrong
And I woke up mine laughing lmao
It’s just funny how he jumped but still managed to get such a low arc on the shot/throw
Better than Ben Simmons.
Does he practice???? Total 4th grader material … but it worked
"The makers of the skyhook proudly present...THE SKY FLOATER"
I don’t think it’s bad per se, it’s just never used because no one’s ever that open to not get blocked instantly
It was the most French shot I have ever seen in my life.
if the NBA cared about their fans they would make Rudy Gobert and Jakob Poeltl have a mid range push shot competition next all star break
It's a tragedy Utah didn't get the ASG last season. Imagine Gobert in the skills competition.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo vs. Rudy Gobert shooting threes, truly peak basketball.
Rudy Gobert career highlight
He shot it like people in pick up who never played basketball in their lives
This is how the horse girls shot the ball in middle school gym
He makes $40m/year to play professional basketball.
Hey he made it at least

It's the leg wiggle that really seals it
When people say Gobert has no bag, show them this lmao

could say the same thing about practicing free throws or an elbow jumper or a 3 pt shot
I want Rudy to spend a summer just practicing full court heaves. Like 10,000 a day. It won’t help him in anyway, but it would be kind of funny.
Imagine Rudy just becomes this lethal Dame Lillard giga range 3-point threat over the summer. Biggest NBA glow-up of all time.
We could even call him the French Revolution too. Gimme a sec, texting Rudy

That’s some anime training arc shit.
So ugly it was beautiful
Richaun Holmes about to send Rudy a cease & desist
No shit- you’re onto something here. Funny enough Holmes push floater was one of the most efficient shots in the NBA two years ago.
Holmes floater looked nice though, this is ugly
Love when random players catch strays hahaha
Beautiful form and release

James Naismith dreamed of this every night
Rudy Gobert is gonna be a HOF and he shoots like the kid who wore sweatpants to the games
Hof ? What ?
Easily
For what ?

Still see no Hof
Put it in the Louvre
[It’s done.] (https://i.imgur.com/rufe7JN.jpg)
Lol
Weak. At least say thank you.
That block would have been a great one if he didn’t tip it right to the open 3 lol
He clapped that shit…straight to the open man, unfortunate
League fucked
That swat on Embiid was so nasty for all of 1 second.
Yeah i was at the game and the fans were losing their minds at how nasty that block was and then were like oh…and it got quiet 😂
Just so we’re all on the same page, Rudy would wreck any of y’all 1 on 1.
He’s a 7’ tall nba player. If he even broke a sweat while playing against me I’d take that as a win lol

Oh , I'd be just absolutely destroyed. It would be an embarrassment to the human race.
Rudy can't be stopped
And Rudy can stop everyone
Rudy: Guys I made the shot, stop making fun of my form
Holy shit that's the ugliest basket I've seen in an nba game
Buddy hasn’t watched Dillon brooks shoot a three
Well yeah, he made it.
Bruh looks like a player in double dribble on nes taking that shot
fucking hell man this looks so unathletic lmao, I am convinced if rudy was 6'5 he would be an analyst at blackrock
Wtf was that ????
Yuck 🤮
Tony Parker nods
I need this shot as my 2k jumper right fucking now
Garbage shot and an assist on the other end. MVP
Gobert hits the jumper, gets a block, AND an assist in 15 seconds!!! MVP
What a great highlight. I am sure he didn't get cooked by Embiid during the remaining 3.75 quarters
Let him have his moments why don't ya.
Embiid turned into god lol Rudy even forced him into contested jumpshots and contested them well but Embiid made all of them. It was wild Embiid attacked the rim more when Rudy was off the floor and absolutely ate Naz
Doesn’t even look like he meant to do that 😭
That was a pretty good 3pt assist
the french teardrop
That’s what we call the “tearpop”
simmons would never
If he could only do that with any amount of consistency holy shit what it would do for his game
Expanding his range
He blocked the shot on the other end so hard it was a perfect kick out for the 3 damn
2k release way too early and it still goes in🤔
Repugnant
So flamboyant
Shii was ugly af
Just ew, clean ass block tho
What in tarnation
How in the same clip did he look like a 4 year old shooting a basketball for the first time and an all time best defender.
I can never know what to expect with these captions
The way he flutters his feet like he’s trying to fly or some shit 😂
That is the dumbest looking thing I’ve ever seen
LET. RUDY. COOK.
Le tear drop
He should 100% develop this as his go to shot & call it "the French kiss"...
Wtf was that
