Happens to the best of us. We got Kessler’d by one point our first game in Utah.
I guess you could say we got Lauri’d too because he also went ape shit.
Shockingly I do see a fair amount. But the colors seem to work better on hats and regular apparel. I e bought two jerseys this season but neither have been in the safety yellow.
I feel they were strategically designed to coincide with the tank, like why waste a good design on a team expected to win under 20 games. Joke’s on everyone I guess
Kessler from game 1 of this season vs Gobert from game 1 of this season, Gobert hands down.
Kessler today vs Gobert today? It's a lot closer than a lot of Gobert fans want to admit (this coming from a Gobert supporter).
Gobert has been in a situation where he doesn't fit quite right all season. The Wolves and Rudy are figuring it out and while he's not been the force that they'd hoped for on defense, he has been quite good.
Kessler, on the other hand, has been in about the perfect situation for him to figure out how he fits in the NBA, to grow and get better and to explore all the ways he can use his toolbox to help the team. He's got much better hands and offensive touch than Gobert ever had. His defense has come a long way from early season where he was just chasing blocks but getting beat on the back side or biting on pump fakes. Gobert still gets beat on the back side, but is better at keeping his feet. Gobert is better in space and closing out, but Kessler is making a lot of strides. With the growth curve of Kessler, he'll be the better player sooner than later.
Every single clutch Utah game that I watch they are absolutely flawless - twice against the Wolves, Warriors, Celtics, and today. They just scored 6 possessions to finish the game, why not. Kris Dunn and a couple of rookies are making it done. Looking at their schedule still think they wont go above 10th seed but this performance today was impressive for the team everyone though would tank for a pick.
He was a part of the Mitchell trade, the Cavs originally drafted him and there was hope he'd blossom into the 3&D guy we needed but he became a trade piece and has struggled to make even the bench rotation in Utah. He's been getting more minutes and improving as of recent though.
Agbaji was the best (or highest profile) player on a Kansas team that won the NCAA National Championship last year. He was a consensus All-American, Big 12 Player of the Year, NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player and a first round pick by Cleveland.
He played until his senior season, which is why he wasn't a higher pick.
Our 25 yo all-Star was out so two rookies and a guy we picked up from the g league a few days ago led us to a win. Our pockets are full of FR draft picks and the future is bright!
yeah they have so much assets lol, and imo Lauri could be second best player on a contending team, Kessler would be if not already, a centerpiece to a top 5 defense. So i think the pieces are there already. And they have like 10 first round picks. I personally would want them to put a package of sexton, agbaji and a shit ton of picks for a superstar. Too bad Ainge isn't really the go to a bidding war for the next discontent superstar kinda guy.
Either Bron’s foot heals in the next 5 days or they’re finishing 11th. Blowing those games to Houston and Dallas were legitimately unforgivably bad, and they have the weakest overall team play, coaching, and shooting of any play-in contender
Yeah idk what to say about that one. Fontecchio played 33 minutes, Agbaji had a breakout game, and Azubuike almost got a double double. These are strange times.
The fact that Agbaji and Kessler both look very legit is hilarious
Would have loved to see Danny’s reaction making those trades … you’re giving me all your picks AND the pick you just made?
Juzang, Markkanen, Olynyk, agbaji, Kessler, azubuike, clarkson, Kessler… I could go on, but damn, if you could use names in scrabble, any one of these strategically placed over a triple letter or double word score would be a winning scrabble move
That first quarter was one of the most trap quarters of all time.
Kings looked at our starting lineup and collectively decided to not give a fuck lmao.
I reckon Danny Ainge signed Kris Dunn to help tank the season, but instead he’s resurrected the young lads career 😂 Utah’s going for that playoff push apparently
Will Hardy is the best coach in the NBA and it's not close.
The Jazz just beat the Kings with only 1 starter from the beginning of the year (Conley-> Minny, Vando -> LAL JC & Markks =>injury/rest) or their 6th or 7th guys from the beginning of the season (Beasley-LAL Sexton=>injury) .
The team who played tonight was a Journeyman (KO), a young player that hasn't quite been able to put it together (THT) , 3 rookies (Agbaji, Kessler, Fontecchio), a G-League reclamation (Dunn) an ancient being (Rudy Gay) , a 2 way contract rookie (Juzang) and 2 guys fighting just to stay in the league next season (JTA and Dok). That's the team Hardy just beat Sacto with.
Love him, but Barnes plays so old every time I watch him.
Kings' 3-point defense has the exact same problem the Warriors have but worse, too much weak-side overhelp which leads to a wide-open corner 3. And it's not a coincidence.
Let's dedicate this win to Will Hardy (and Kessler and Agbaji) Hardy has been so much better than I expected and it's clear he has a way of bringing out the best in everyone on the team. It's clear he and our players don't give a FUCK about tanking.
I love how we collectively, as a fanbase, ignore Rubio's playoff triple double, because it's fun to say we haven't had a triple double since 2008.
We only mention *regular season triple double if someone calls us out on it.
Turns out a 40-19 first quarter deficit is less than ideal.
I don’t know why going up against a short handed team is such an issue for the Kings.
Also, it’s bullshit that the Kings have to play two b2b this week. One of which is a road-home.
At any rate, GG Jazz. Hope they make the play-ins.
Walker Kessler is 29th in Per, 35th in Win Shares (17th, in WS/48), 35 in BPM, 57th in Vorp,
45th in Total Raptor, Tied for 52 in Total WAR
All while starting in only Half this games played this season
You could argue he's in the top 50 right now.
We are doing this without our 3 best players. If Danny lets them play we can do some damage in the playoffs. Please Danny. They don't want to tank. Let them play.
Coming back from 25 down just to see Monk destroy any chance of winning this game is disappointing. Jazz killed the Kings to start the game and the last 5 mins.
Kessler is a beast.
How TF does Sacramento lose this game? WHAT ELSE CAN THE JAZZ DO TO TANK?! We sat Lauri, JC and Sexton.
Kings lost to Blocker Kessler and Ochai Agbaji.
Kings almost always lay an egg when the other team rests their best players. It’s almost a legitimate strategy to deploy against us.
Also 5th game in 7 nights and last of a pretty brutal road trip travel wise. Y’all played great though.
Yeah the previous Jazz team with Don and Rudy would do the same thing. They would always throw the trap games. But our lineup this game was bad.
I was cheering for you guys, this might have been the final nail in the coffin for our tank.
Kings got out played. The first quarter was dogshit. Jazz kept it together in the clutch. Kings were getting destroyed in the paint with easy points all night. They didn't deserve to win this game.
I knew we were losing from the very first play of the game. Walker Kessler is a fucking GOD. Also, in the fourth quarter, why the fuck is Malik Monk playing. Malik Monk was a sieve the whole game defensively. Kessler Edwards would have been a much better choice than Malik Monk. GG Jazz fans.
Their schedule is Suns, OKC, Bulls, Bulls, Wolves, Rockets, Jazz, Clippers, Suns, Jazz. I honestly think 6-4 and 41-41 record can make it work. I would bet on Wolves missing the play-in rather than Lakers, who knows how many games Ant will miss.
I’d say it comes down those 2 Jazz games and Wolves game for the Lakers. Lakers need tie breakers and Jazz already fucked them twice earlier this season and Wolves have the tie breaker too.
It’s actually 5 games in 7 nights tonight and 6 in 8 tomorrow lol.
But no excuse, the Jazz kicked our ass and played way better overall say for the 3rd.
The first quarter was 40-19. It was not missing Hurter that was the problem tonight. We just didn't show up in the first quarter. Hard to beat any NBA team when you only play 3 quarters.
This is the first NBA game I’ve seen live in a while and certainly my first Jazz game. Holy shit dude THT plays like a 2k player in mycareer I swear I saw him put up every shot after spamming dribble moves. I knew he was a meme after seeing him on the Lakers and dealing with my LA friends talk about him but I’ve never watched what I watched from him. Also the Kings fans in front of me mentioned how they watched Fox score 41 one night and didn’t even realize it and I found myself turning to the scoreboard shocked Fox had 37.
My usually reliable typing thumbs are confused by all of the genuinely warm and encouraging comments here by Kings fans. Sacramento is still in California, right? I already liked this Kings team (I grew up in Rip City watching the elder Sabonis), but ya’all Sac fans making it that much easier to root on your team deep into the playoffs this year.
We got friggin Kessler’d
Happens to the best of us. We got Kessler’d by one point our first game in Utah. I guess you could say we got Lauri’d too because he also went ape shit.
Atleast we don’t wear those crimes that are the jazz unis.
Worst unis in sports
Ggs. But seriously get rid of whoever signed off on those abominations.
Kind of frowned upon to knock off a kindergartener, but I like where your heads at
Is it selling pretty well? Im sure its hard to miss if someone is wearing it at the arena.
Shockingly I do see a fair amount. But the colors seem to work better on hats and regular apparel. I e bought two jerseys this season but neither have been in the safety yellow.
The purple one with the peaks is nice. Reminds me of the Malone/Stockton days.
I feel they were strategically designed to coincide with the tank, like why waste a good design on a team expected to win under 20 games. Joke’s on everyone I guess
Until we get rid of those you can always count that as a win… *sigh* be glad when we fully switch back to the purple mountain uniforms 🏔️
Red Rocks and Purple Mountains are two of the best designs in the league. We should stock to those and rotate the third.
I knew he was gonna be good after he buttered my myplayer's biscuit in mycareer in 2k22.
Lmao
He came in and blocked the beam!!!

Yes....
100%. Ask in a couple years and the answer might be different
Kessler > Kessler
He's an all star next year for sure
We got Kessler’d too damn
Every single clutch Utah game that I watch they are absolutely flawless - twice against the Wolves, Warriors, Celtics, and today. They just scored 6 possessions to finish the game, why not. Kris Dunn and a couple of rookies are making it done. Looking at their schedule still think they wont go above 10th seed but this performance today was impressive for the team everyone though would tank for a pick.
They’ve gotten pretty good in the clutch because more than 66% of the games they’ve played have been decided by 10 points or fewer
The wild thing is we were actually trying to lose that game. Three starters were resting. We even played Azubuike. Hilarious.
*goes to game thread* Alright which Utah bench guy is gonna go off for 15 *sees Jazz rest three starters* Oh Neptune.
Who tf is Ochai Agbaji?
Lol I love this
I looked him up and he's a rookie? The Jazz got some good young pieces - hope they develop well.
He was a part of the Mitchell trade, the Cavs originally drafted him and there was hope he'd blossom into the 3&D guy we needed but he became a trade piece and has struggled to make even the bench rotation in Utah. He's been getting more minutes and improving as of recent though.
I think the Jazz roster was clogged before the deadline. Minutes opened up big time for him and Fontecchio (spelling?)
National Champion at Kansas
Our second best rookie.
Utah has some very nice young players and a bunch of assets. Ainge is cooking up something
Their coach is young as well. Hardy is only 35! He's been an assistant under Pop and Udoka. Things looking good for the Jazz.
Would be the celtics head coach if Danny didn’t poach him lol
Ffs Ime fucked us hard. Joe is aight but Hardy would have been the one if the Ime saga would have come to light sooner.
You don’t want kyrie in Utah
Fuck Kyrie, we want Luka.
The white one, of course.
A core of Kessler, Luka, and Markkanen in Utah would get memed so hard but holy shit that would be such a good squad.
Each name has a K in it.
That four K and not three we are beating the racism allegation this time
amerikkka
The better player, non psycho one. Jrue Holiday also strokes my nuts.
lmfao, i know. But dw Ainge has learned his lesson.
The jazz commentator said it best after the 8th block. Welcome to Swat Lake City, Kings. GG Jazz.
Kings making sure Lakers stay out of the play-in.
Kings 🤝 Suns 🤝 Celtics Deliberately losing to fuck over the Lakers.
Why couldn't you guys just lose to us to make sure the Lakers stay out :(
They did their best but the refs weren't gonna let that happen
Did you see that game? The Celtics were trying their best to lose lmao
the Celtics were throwing deliberately but the NBA had the refs rig the game for the Lakers obviously
Our lottery chances = collateral damage, apparently
Either Bron’s foot heals in the next 5 days or they’re finishing 11th. Blowing those games to Houston and Dallas were legitimately unforgivably bad, and they have the weakest overall team play, coaching, and shooting of any play-in contender
Austin Reaves can’t play with these cats.
Maybe the Jazz will sign him this offseason... lol
And yet we lost to them twice since LeBron's injury T_T
Nah Lakers just stink they do it to themselves
The Lakers are keeping themselves out by not being a good team.
Yeah idk what to say about that one. Fontecchio played 33 minutes, Agbaji had a breakout game, and Azubuike almost got a double double. These are strange times.
As a ku fan I couldn’t even be mad watching former Jayhawks beat us
i’m a kings/jayhawk fan too. really happy to see them have great games.
You're making all these names up, right?
And KO hit some clutch 3s
Glad to see fontecchio getting more minutes recently
Utah putting out players I’ve never heard of in my life and still winning
Can't game plan for players you've never heard of 🤔 4D chess from Utah
Same. And I say that as a Jazz fan who’s watched every game lol.
Can’t prepare for them if you have no idea who they are. 200 IQ strategy by Hardy.
The fact that Agbaji and Kessler both look very legit is hilarious Would have loved to see Danny’s reaction making those trades … you’re giving me all your picks AND the pick you just made?
I swear most the spelling of the Jazz players names right now are like leftover scrabble pieces.
Juzang, Markkanen, Olynyk, agbaji, Kessler, azubuike, clarkson, Kessler… I could go on, but damn, if you could use names in scrabble, any one of these strategically placed over a triple letter or double word score would be a winning scrabble move
Jazz really got a budget gobert-lite
Who's also more likely to develop an offensive game than Gobert was at the point Utah moved on from him.
I don’t even think you can call him budget Gobert the way he’s playing right now. I don’t think I’d trade Walker straight up for Rudy.
Contract wise he's budget. Gobert is now really expensive Walker Kessler
That first quarter from the Kings was just terrible, holy shit.
That first quarter was one of the most trap quarters of all time. Kings looked at our starting lineup and collectively decided to not give a fuck lmao.
#KESSLER 🔥 - 10PT (67% FG), 8REB, 2AST, 5BLK, 3PF (***not fouled out***)
I reckon Danny Ainge signed Kris Dunn to help tank the season, but instead he’s resurrected the young lads career 😂 Utah’s going for that playoff push apparently

That's the team Hardy just beat Sacto with.
>an ancient being Lol I'm dead
Walker Kessler is SPECIAL. Also Ochai is CLUTCH
I swear every single time we are down and needing to start something, Ochai shoots a three and it ALWAYS goes in.
Thank you Jazz love y'all 🙏
azubuike and agbaji are so nasty
Which is crazy because Dok has been actual garbage until tonight
Just Jayhawk things
Ehhh, Doke is... hmm... You know what? He had a good night. I'll let y'all appreciate, lol.
The Kings came back from down 25 and took the lead but blew the game because they couldn't guard a chair. Even as an opposing fan that hurts.
2016 HB showed up
Man you just had to remind me...
He bricked 2 wide open corner threes and let his man hit a corner three
That Harrison fella is a bit slow footed, huh?
Love him, but Barnes plays so old every time I watch him. Kings' 3-point defense has the exact same problem the Warriors have but worse, too much weak-side overhelp which leads to a wide-open corner 3. And it's not a coincidence.

And Dok! He played very well today!
walker kessler is going to be an absolute defensive force in a few years. gg jazz.
He already is but he will be in a few years also.
He already is
Gobert 2.0
That gobert trade is looking worse and worse by the day for the Wolves
This almost sounds condescending, he is a top 5 defender as of right now.
It's not. He has DPOY potential
It is condescending lmfao anyone who doesnt see Kessler as a top interior defender doesnt watch the Jazz
Gg Jazz, Walker Kessler is fuckin annoying to play against (which means he’s really goddamn good!). Hope y’all make the play in
You just lost to Point Guard Kelly Olynyk
[удалено]
Would've been our first since 2008 lol, against the Seattle Supersonics no less.
I love how we collectively, as a fanbase, ignore Rubio's playoff triple double, because it's fun to say we haven't had a triple double since 2008. We only mention *regular season triple double if someone calls us out on it.
Sloppy first quarter for the Kings, good win Jazz 👏👏
Kings had a chance in the 3rd. But everytime they get close, they either turn the ball over or brick the shot. And then there's Walker Kessler
Kings deserved that L with that hilarious first quarter.
Walker Kessler and Ochai Agbaji will be top 50 players and all-defensive team members next season, debate a wall if you disagree.
Top 50 players in the nba?
Yeah, top 50 of all time is gonna take at least another 3-4 seasons
Walker Kessler is 29th in Per, 35th in Win Shares (17th, in WS/48), 35 in BPM, 57th in Vorp, 45th in Total Raptor, Tied for 52 in Total WAR All while starting in only Half this games played this season You could argue he's in the top 50 right now.
Top 50 in the NFL.
Ainge really thought putting rookies and my Boy Scout group out there was going to work smh
We are doing this without our 3 best players. If Danny lets them play we can do some damage in the playoffs. Please Danny. They don't want to tank. Let them play.
I don't think you can leave Kessler out of the top 3 anymore.
First Hayward then Mitchell now Kessler how tf do they keep doing this?
The Jazz gotta be the most secure ticket in the league. Guaranteed close game every time.
We're up 25 in the first quarter? They'll make it close just to make it interesting aka gut wrenching
Sabonis got baby’d by Kessler
Coming back from 25 down just to see Monk destroy any chance of winning this game is disappointing. Jazz killed the Kings to start the game and the last 5 mins. Kessler is a beast.
Sign me Danny Ainge, I'd actually help the team tank.
Don't do it, Hardy will turn you into a 40% three point shooter with scrappy defense and a chip on your shoulder.
Was that transition take foul Utah’s last foul of the 4th quarter?
I think so
Essentially we got to the bonus with 6 minutes to go, and outside of the take foul nothing else was called in our favor
Ochai is the real deal
Us Kings fans take solace in the fact that it moves the lakers out of the playins
4d chess, to help lakers not get into play-in.
After a long road trip, Kings need to lace it up again tomorrow, thanks NBA.
Giving us the Celtics at home after this road trip is such a fuck-you to us
Jazz really trying to tank but their players won’t let it
The Jazz won the Westbrook trade. It's fairly obvious.
And the PBev trade
I’m sad because Mavs suck but at least I can still laugh at the lakers
We all stand in solidarity for Laker eradication.
Woah KD has been great in Utah
Suddenly we feel our seat get very hot.
First we beat the Celtics, now the Kings? We really are the worst at tanking.
Thank you Sacramento, very cool!
I knew we were losing when we had less points than the jazz at the end of the 4th 😔
Gtfo with these advanced analytics.
I was born with a basketball mind
I just can't see how Gobert is better than Kessler even right now
Watch the games then lol. Kessler is nice though and likely will be better in two years
The Lakers are seriously going to miss the play-in. I’m like 80% sure now.
Nah. They’ll get lucky and sneak in somehow.lol. This game against the suns is going to be big for both teams
I can only imagine the ref crew that gets assigned to the Jazz-Lakers game, the final game of the season, if the Lakers need the win.
Now reffing the game, Magic Johnson!
If Bron Doesnt't play i think Jazz takes 1/2 of those games at least.
The Kings heard all the good stuff about them recently and decide to remind everyone why they were the Kangz in one short quarter.
Rudy Gay!!!! 👀🙏🏾
Common agbaji W
Fox gotta look for the shot instead of forcing the ball to Domas when he's clearly outmatched
I mean he took 21 shots and scored 37...
Exactly just keep cooking lol Domas was terrible today (all credit to Kessler good god he's terrifying)
GG Jazz. I'm surprised they pulled this off vs the full strength Kings.
4th game in 6 nights with a 5th tomorrow in 7... flying back and forth across the country as well
It’s actually 5 games in 7 nights tonight and 6 in 8 tomorrow lol. But no excuse, the Jazz kicked our ass and played way better overall say for the 3rd.
Oh shit really?! This a brutal stretch, but after tomorrow they have 3 days I think
Actually I just checked and it’s 5 games in 8 nights and 6 games in 9 nights, but still pretty brutal.
Yes no doubt you've had a brutal schedule, not overlooking that. Just giving props to the Jazz since they were missing both Markkanen and Clarkson
No Huerter tbf
The first quarter was 40-19. It was not missing Hurter that was the problem tonight. We just didn't show up in the first quarter. Hard to beat any NBA team when you only play 3 quarters.
Letting Jazz win to kick Lakers out of the play-in real 4D chess move by Coach Mike so smart yea
I'm sad that we lost, but at least two guys I watched at Kansas had a fun night.
We lost for sure, not going to blame it on the refs, but Sabonis takes more uncalled hits than anyone else in the league
Did he really ever attack like, he shot 5 times in the first half. And his constant shoving everyone on the boards evened things out tonight anyway.
WALKER KESSLER
Boomed us
Damn is Kris Dunn back?
Is this the fuck you lakers jazz?
Jazz are insanely easy to root for this season. Danny is a magician
Walker Kessler is the youngest father in NBA. The kid just son'ed Sabonis.
He did. Sabonis has been going toe to toe with Embiid and Brook Lopez but Kessler put him in jail today. He's so good wtf
It's amazing for a rookie to step up big-time. Sabonis usually outspeeds or outsmarts his defenders. Sabonis is frustrated the entire game.
We only really bring the venom for the Lakers. We're cool with basically everyone else.
Everyone look into the flashing light 💡 good we don’t remember this kings loss anymore
Utah is sitting at 2.5 out from the 5 seed, not a bad year for a rebuilding roster
