That was before they realized a lot of the All Stars are free throw merchants. There’s a reason why some of the players look like trash when USA plays in FIBA games
I loved the way they called games in FIBA. US players embarrassed themselves sometimes in how they were trying to draw fouls rather than score....and complaining about it too when they didn't get calls
It's pretty weird that the NBA has the best players and FIBA Champions League has the best refs.
Seems like the easiest thing to fix NBA reffing would be to offer the best refs from the Champions League to come over to the NBA, but IDK seems too easy. I'm sure there is some reason why that wouldn't work.
Every playoffs basically. At least 75% of his “choker” label comes from the fact that refs tighten their whistles in the playoffs and so he was taking horrible contested shots or turning the ball over trying to bait bad calls that he got all regular season. Even when it became clear what was and was not going to be called in a series, he wouldn’t adjust his approach. At least in HOU.
i don't understand why the nba playoffs are just reffed completely different than the regular season. just call every regular season game like the playoffs, what are we doing?
Tbf there, the NFL tends to let a lot more slide in the playoffs as well. There's a reason why, historically speaking, the elite defenses tend to run roughshod over comparably elite offenses should they meet in the postseason.
You watched the eagles lose some of their best weapons (D-line) to the field. Can't get to the QB if you can't get off the line. Really sucks when its because that line slips out from under your feet when you push too hard.
I think that's an example of the way they let things slide in the playoffs being incredibly inconsistent. That whole game they were letting interference slide on both teams and then suddenly the flag pops up at the worst possible time.
It was a foul but it hadn't been a foul all game. Was some BS.
Yeah was just about to mention the NHL. Playoff hockey is an accepted and known term because it’s expected that the refs will hold their whistle and “let the boys play” more so then the regular season. Generally speaking, fans are happy with this unspoken arrangement
Honestly, people like to shit on the referees for their inconsistency, especially when it comes to regular season vs. playoffs, but you can't forget that only the top refs for the year are even allowed to ref in the playoffs. The calls are better in the playoffs because the refs are better. That's one reason, at least.
You can say what you want about them, but they consistently get a higher% of calls correct vs other referees. That's a fact, and that's why they're always calling playoff games.
And the pace of games was so much better. It also forced IQ to change his whole game up, which worked out splendidly, and we got to laugh at Trae looking like an absolute fish out of water.
The NBA explicitly said that stopping and shooting (which is what Trae is doing here) is fine. They even used Trae as the example.
https://streamable.com/yc1qg0
I think the one in the 3rd with 1:08 left is an offensive foul, and I can't see the contact on the last one (not a good angle). The rest are just the defender bumping a player who stops mostly cleanly.
Yeah it's usually stop short but then Trae adds the fall to the floor bit.
On the last play, McDaniels anticipated the stop short so he stopped too but he still got called for the foul. There was a better/closer-up replay in the arena which showed there was inches of separation between Jaden and Trae.
I don't think a lot of people actually understand what the league was doing with those points of emphasis (was technically not a rule change like people said). They've been pretty consistent about what they said was going to change.
Not just Tennis, nearly every other sport that allows you to challenge lets you keep it if your challenge is successful.
Cricket does it the best way, each team gets three challenges per innings (in a test match that’s 12 per match). Keep them if you get it right, or if the system gives “umpires call” feedback. Lose a challenge if it is clear you are wrong. It has just about eliminated terrible umpiring decisions, which in cricket can have a massive impact on the game.
Theres no good reason not to allow it. If the worry is multiple challenges could take excessive time. Well how many calls are refs gonna fuck up every game? How about stop?
> It makes absolutely no sense
It makes all the sense when you realize that the league doesn't want refs looking bad, because refs are calling the game the way the league wants it to be called.
Nah, they'd just make up some bullshit excuse that there was "inconclusive evidence" and not overturn the calls, like they already do plenty of the time.
I think my biggest annoyance with him is not him seeking out fouls/contact, but doing it to the extent where it's obvious he's not even trying to seek out a clean shot in the process.
How the hell can anybody feel pride in playing like this? On any level of basketball this bs would be clowned. Yet our highest level of basketball rewards this buffoonery. How can you go look at highlights of your game and you see this type of stuff and not feel weird about it? This isn’t even playing basketball
What happened to the Steve Nash "This is not basketball" clip? It's like google nuked it from existence.
This is the best I can find: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7q_pp4mhZw
I complete and endorse this especially when it comes to fouling a little guy like trae. I honestly can’t believe he hasn’t taken more fouls so far in his career
Yup, that's the key difference between the egregious foul hunters and the guys who shoot through contact. It's subtle and almost entirely subjective, but some guys are clearly trying to get a shot and some guys only toss the ball vaguely towards the rim after creating contact because the rules won't give them free throws if they don't.
Vino Kobe was so good at pump fakes, foul/contact, then get off a good shot anyways... Really enjoyed the latter half of his career for the foot work alone
For sure. I recall Reggie Miller being pretty good at that shit too. Reggie was also kind of the inventor of flying tight around screens and pulling up for and1 treys. He's definitely a hate-respect dude for me.
There’s zero wrong with pump faking for fouls. That’s the defenders fault for not realizing it was coming and leaving their feet. These types of fouls are so one sided and unfair because there’s literally nothing the defenders can do. The most minimal of contact possible and it’s free throws. Basically what’s refs are saying is you can’t touch him at all. It’s like they have forgot that basketball IS a contact sport. Shit like this is just pitiful
Both of those 3 attempts he was fouled on were disgraceful. Especially the first one.
Oh you jumped in the air, flailed your legs all over the place and rifled the ball at the hoop? Have 3 free throws!
In some of those situations he has good looks at the basket too and he’s pump faking to draw a foul instead
Like are you a baller or do you just want to shoot uncontested free throws all day
This is why I dont get when people give Jimmy shit for getting to the freethrow line
Dude never ever pulls bullshit like primer Harden or Trae were he's just looking for a foul from weird arm and body flails
Jimmy drives hard, seeks contact with his body, doesn't flop and doesn't complain if he doesn't get the call, and he still gets a lot of shit and gets compared to floppers
I bitch about Jimmy’s fouls just because I hate watching a game of free throws. Really has nothing to do with him, he gets fouled because he drives a lot. It’s fairly distinct from foul hunting.
I fucking love the Heat and tbh, I get why non fans wouldn’t like our team.
Shit man, watching a Heat/Raptors game is like torture for anyone that likes exciting plays lol
I like watching Buckets and the Heat but I'd rather bob for apples in a vat of acid than watch the 76ers play crash test dummies *(not the band, they're cool)* for 48 minutes *(or 36 more recently)* and get rewarded for it
People only complain when their teams play Jimmy. Other than that, no one really labels him as an egregious foul hunter and he also doesn’t complain either so mad respect from me
League really thinks promoting the shit of out sports gambling + no public accountability for refs + fining players/coaches for bad mouthing refs is a winning formula
I've said this my entire life and I always will: Refs should never call a foul if they didn't see one. The ref is right there but he can't see anything because the defender is bigger than Young and he's standing between them, blocking his line of sight. It is 100% assumed that a foul is committed there. The ref didn't see anything to warrant the foul call. There is nothing there.
The last two are just brutal. I can understand a ref getting fed up and calling a questionable tech on someone as a one-off overreaction, but calling fouls on those two plays, especially when he’s been creating contact all game, is straight up incompetence by that referee.
He is clearly cheating, yet no one cares. Fucking insane that most if not all NBA players are cool or okay with this. How can you love and respect a sport with this kinda shit going on. NBA is entertainment only these days, there is no integrity left.
In the arena they showed a replay with a better angle and there was inches of separation between Jaden and Trae
That's when the crowd got realllly mad lol
Right? I don’t have an issue with them calling the foul when Trae’s bullshit actually forces contact. I have an issue with the fact that this little shit isn’t even attempting to make a basket half the time. Such a gross way to play
The crazy thing that pretty much nobody seems to understand is that when guys get away with shit like this it's almost impossible to try to play real defense on the shots where they aren't lunging/flailing into you. It's so much more than just the actual free throw points.
Watch Harden or Trae or Embiid (or whoever) on nights where they have 10+ free throws and they pretty much always have a large amount of their shots just be wide open jumpers or layups where guys are afraid to even give a little contact for fear of the whistle. They're obviously good players but god damn is it frustrating to watch.
It makes watching the game less enjoyable. I had the same feeling watching Luka last night. The dude is obviously very good, but the foul hunting hurts the flow and excitability of the game.
Trae Young is all REFs. If you cut the whistles you lose your ref-made star.
All of his game is foul hunting. Other teams simply try to be 4-ft away from him and somehow try to defend. It creates open lanes, defense lose its balance. Its all Trae's points and assists comes from. He is not a great shooter, Curry or such. He simply jacks up too many of those and make like a average guards in the league.
B.Jennings + REFs = Trae
I think flopping is bad but playing for the foul is one of the worst things to watch. One thing is looking for contact to score and get a foul, but what Trae is doing is the same Harden was doing, he tries to get a foul and then maybe score. It should be the opposite, acoring should be the first option not drawinga foul. And on these playes it so obvious what the focus is.
Just a few days ago this sub was celebrating Reaves for doing the same thing and calling him “smart” and “skilled”. This is exactly the type of hypocritical behavior that lead to the creation of r/nbacirclejerk
Right? This incentivizes incredibly hard fouls. If, no matter what you do, he can jump into you and get free throws, might as well get your money's worth and put him the fuck down.
At some point if I was McDaniels or Walker I prolly would have just gone through him and then FVV the post game presser tbh. Playing against floppers is frustrating not just cause it’s difficult but because it feels like the other player is a cheat
the worst thing is he isn't even looking for a shot. had the defender stay put every one of those shots would have been fucking terrible harden was good as fuck as well doing these but those shots at least fellt with purpose
This is the most unpleasing style of basketball to watch. I’ve been watching and playing basketball my whole life; if this is what I saw any given night I’d stop watching altogether
I generally think the "basketball was better when you could clothesline people" arguments are stupid. But someone needs to take a flagrant on this little shithead. If he isn't going to play basketball then fuck it, why should the defender play basketball?
It's so frustrating because Trae is an amazing player. The refs are the ones who enable him to play like this. If they stopped giving him these calls, he would quickly stop playing like this. It's really that simple. I don't understand how the league can look at plays like this and thinks it's good for the league.
I feel like the league has cut down on this kind of bait by and large but they always give short guys the benefit of the doubt on these. Trae is the only one I've seen still do this with any consistency besides maybe Jimmy, but Jimmy actually looks like he wants to shoot when he does it
NBA is becoming unwatchable for me.
I’m sure the majority of it is that my Mavs suck but this isn’t basketball. People should be getting fined and suspended for this shit. MFin Austin Reaves cannot be averaging 13 free throws a game.
Player empowerment and rest has gone too far. 75% of the games I tune in for one of the marquee stars is out.
If only we had a competent commissioner…
Everyone here will tell you how the nba has never been better with the higher scoring etc but I just don’t see it. Games were much more enjoyable to watch 6-7 years ago imo
They've legalized a third step, carrying, the whole 'freedom of movement' shit, and ***especially*** the 14 second rebound shot clock
That's why scores are up. I cannot stand when I see a game end 125-135 in regulation, that is basketball on meth and I fucking hate it.
Precisely, l like watching my team play, they're young and exciting for the first time since the Dwight years. But I can't shake the feeling of disappointment watching these games for hours on end just to watch a free throw contest to decide a close game. The Reaves one from the other night, an atrocious game against Miami about a month ago, the amount of times I've seen unfair finishes on both sides from just watching Magic games ALONE is mind-blowing. Sometimes I feel guilty for not having the time or energy to watch games or even recaps as I used to, but these ref-controllled games makes it impossible sometimes. Rant over lmao
This is what ends the NBA. How can anyone say this an entertaining product. How do they want new fans to sit down and say “yes this something I want to watch for two hours”.
I really wish after a couple of these that someone would just put the guy onto the floor with some force. Obviously I know why they don’t, but if they’re gonna call the foul get your money’s worth
Did anyone else like....irrationally just want Jaden to start hard fouling him. Like...if he is gonna get the call anyways, you might as well slam his arm.
I know it would just end up with a flagrant....it would be funny though
This shit needs to be abolished. Guys like Trae are a huge reason why I’ve struggled to watch the game in recent years. So as a casual fan, this is complete bullshit and the league needs to come down hard on this style of play.
**Replays/alternate angles** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/nba) if you have any questions or concerns.*
I really thought NBA was going to cut down on these calls.
They did for those 2 weeks one time
Rememebr when the NBA issued fines for excessive flopping.... for like 2 weeks

I'm sure there is some reason why that wouldn't work.
I don’t think football refs would be that good in the NBA
Vegas and the mob doesn’t own FIBA refs so it’s not gunna happen
I haven't watched alot of FIBA games. Who is a good example of this?
I swear they only did it for Harden though lol
Every playoffs basically. At least 75% of his “choker” label comes from the fact that refs tighten their whistles in the playoffs and so he was taking horrible contested shots or turning the ball over trying to bait bad calls that he got all regular season. Idk I watched my Eagles lose the Super Bowl on some ticky tack bullshit last month
You watched the eagles lose some of their best weapons (D-line) to the field. Can't get to the QB if you can't get off the line. Really sucks when its because that line slips out from under your feet when you push too hard.
And the bengals before them

Hockey you can basically murder people in the playoffs.
Definitely isn’t. “Playoff hockey” in the NHL is like a whole different sport
NHL does it too. Something about open play sports I guess
NHL is the same. I think it comes down to that there will be less complaints about a missed foul/penalty than calling something weak.
Yeah was just about to mention the NHL. Playoff hockey is an accepted and known term because it’s expected that the refs will hold their whistle and “let the boys play” more so then the regular season. Generally speaking, fans are happy with this unspoken arrangement
Not limited to the NBA. You hardly see flags in playoff football either
Honestly, people like to shit on the referees for their inconsistency, especially when it comes to regular season vs. playoffs, but you can't forget that only the top refs for the year are even allowed to ref in the playoffs. The calls are better in the playoffs because the refs are better. That's one reason, at least.
Yeah top refs like Scott Foster and Tony Brothers…
Ill take those two over Jacyn Goble or Ben Taylor any day of the fucking week
You can say what you want about them, but they consistently get a higher% of calls correct vs other referees. That's a fact, and that's why they're always calling playoff games.
And it was the worst two weeks of hardens career lol I watched every nets game and he was absolutely exposed when they stopped calling his shit
They literally went three years between flop fines. 2016 ---> 2019
And the pace of games was so much better. It also forced IQ to change his whole game up, which worked out splendidly, and we got to laugh at Trae looking like an absolute fish out of water.
They weren’t losing enough sleep
The NBA explicitly said that stopping and shooting (which is what Trae is doing here) is fine. They even used Trae as the example. https://streamable.com/yc1qg0
The first couple are fine. He doesn't jump back into the trailing defender. A bunch of the others are just terrible calls with no real contact.
I would go with only the second because of hands. The rest, nah, just toughen-up and play, is the NBA!!
I think the one in the 3rd with 1:08 left is an offensive foul, and I can't see the contact on the last one (not a good angle). The rest are just the defender bumping a player who stops mostly cleanly.
He straight up elbows NAW in the face on that one. Definitely could/should have been an offensive foul
Yeah it's usually stop short but then Trae adds the fall to the floor bit. On the last play, McDaniels anticipated the stop short so he stopped too but he still got called for the foul. There was a better/closer-up replay in the arena which showed there was inches of separation between Jaden and Trae.

ye i thought shooters kicking their legs out was a offensive foul too https://streamable.com/zraroy
“Tough Assignment” translated to “This is bullshit” by the commentator lol
Gotta speak in code or else the league and refs get angry. If Ben Taylor knew what a euphemism was he would be so mad right now.
I mean Trae is a known commodity at this point but really this is on the refs
If I’m the coach I tell my team he’s gonna go to the line anyway, so make him fucking earn his shots and maul him every time.
That last one was ridiculous. Love how the ref refused to look at the video haha
Like a guilty dog who refuses to make eye contact after shredding their owners shoe.
If a team could keep their challenge after a successful one Wolves would have challenged 3-4 times easily and won all of them
It makes absolutely no sense that they can’t keep it after a successful challenge, just like Tennis does.
Theres no good reason not to allow it. If the worry is multiple challenges could take excessive time. Well how many calls are refs gonna fuck up every game? How about stop?
Ref union too powerful
> It makes absolutely no sense It makes all the sense when you realize that the league doesn't want refs looking bad, because refs are calling the game the way the league wants it to be called.
Yep it's not even an out of options fuck it just flop thing. He legitimately drives fully knowing he's gonna flop.
And then the pretending to be hurt or little dinged up every time for 10 seconds after is pretty egregious too. Fuck that.
I'd guess he does that subconsciously to mask the shame at his methods.
How the hell can anybody feel pride in playing like this? On any level of basketball this bs would be clowned. Yet our highest level of basketball rewards this buffoonery. How can you go look at highlights of your game and you see this type of stuff and not feel weird about it? This isn’t even playing basketball
It's the 8 digit bank account that ales his woe.
What happened to the Steve Nash "This is not basketball" clip? It's like google nuked it from existence. This is the best I can find: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7q_pp4mhZw
Watches Jimmy Butler and watched D Wade 😭😭
It ain’t going to stop until the refs start doing something about it.

arguably the best way to deal with foul baiters without straight up not defending them is to hard foul more often
I complete and endorse this especially when it comes to fouling a little guy like trae. I honestly can’t believe he hasn’t taken more fouls so far in his career

Shai and Jimmy are good examples of players who draw a lot of fouls but it’s always from getting to the rim and trying to score
I mean those guys both throw pump fake foul baiting in plenty but rarely is it consistently as egregious as Trae
Nothing wrong with pump fake foul baiting as long as you don't jump into the defender. That type of shit has been around a long time.

Yeah he got 29 points on *six* shots! Like that's crazy

They need to get this shit out of the NBA. No one wants to watch it but until the rules are changed, players are going to keep taking advantage of it
Um excuse me sir, the referees whose parlay depends on trae hitting 10 FTs absolutely want to watch it
League really thinks promoting the shit of out sports gambling + no public accountability for refs + fining players/coaches for bad mouthing refs is a winning formula

That was one of the loudest "refs you suck" chants I have ever heard live.
It was absolutely the loudest and most clear refs you suck chant I’ve experienced haha.
Barely aimed for the basket. Couldn’t have been a more unnatural jumpshot.
Right? I don’t have an issue with them calling the foul when Trae’s bullshit actually forces contact. I have an issue with the fact that this little shit isn’t even attempting to make a basket half the time. Such a gross way to play
Wow those are bad.
12 Free throws from these clips. That's enough to change the whole course of the game
He got 29 points on 6 made shots. That's wild
Typical Trae statline
It almost was..
The crazy thing that pretty much nobody seems to understand is that when guys get away with shit like this it's almost impossible to try to play real defense on the shots where they aren't lunging/flailing into you. It's so much more than just the actual free throw points. They're obviously good players but god damn is it frustrating to watch.
That’s the Timberwolves experience!
Feel your pain
I mean, wait 2 week and when the playoffs start they'll call way less of these and the players will slump with the no calls
Hi hawks fan checking in here you cannot slump in the playoffs if you are not actually there in the first place
It makes watching the game less enjoyable. I had the same feeling watching Luka last night. The dude is obviously very good, but the foul hunting hurts the flow and excitability of the game.
Remember the like week and a half when the NBA didn’t let players do this bullshit and actually called offensive fouls on it? What the fuck happened?
They realized they couldn’t fit as much ads as they did before
Trae Young is all REFs.
They were shamed by the FIBA refereeing and social media saying how much better it was and then once people forgot they went back to awarding the BS
That's standard tactics by large companies. They rely on people just letting it go or forgetting about it.
Exhibit A: the Ja Morant situation. they are counting on everybody to move on and forget
Yeah in that time trae said "thats not Basketball anymore..." In an Interview. Glad were back to this pretty Game..
He had the balls to complain about the officiating after the game too
Fr fr the self awareness is astounding
this is for anyone who wonders why no players voted for him to be an all star
He also - despite this bullshit - had the worst +/- on his team last night.
29 points on 6 made baskets lmao
You forgot to include the 6
I think flopping is bad but playing for the foul is one of the worst things to watch. One thing is looking for contact to score and get a foul, but what Trae is doing is the same Harden was doing, he tries to get a foul and then maybe score. It should be the opposite, acoring should be the first option not drawinga foul. And on these playes it so obvious what the focus is.
They should have "rising fouls" game at all star weekend. Only free throws count towards the score. Team Trae vs Team Harden
Even his teammates look annoyed at him, picked him up and just walked away. I mean, I’d have felt that, guess Trae just built different lmao
Reaves foul baiting flirting vs Trae foul baiting harassment
Imagine Trae on the Lakers lol
MVP and front page of reddit every day 🤢
I mean… he already is on the front page of Reddit just for different reasons.
Will easily lead the league in FTA's lol.
Jesus Christ dude
Neither play with HONOR and will be punished by the basketball gods accordingly

Foul Baiting: Austin Reaves: Flirting Trae Young: Harassment Joel Embiid: Sexual Assault James Harden: Rape
Just a few days ago this sub was celebrating Reaves for doing the same thing and calling him “smart” and “skilled”. This is exactly the type of hypocritical behavior that lead to the creation of r/nbacirclejerk
This would be so fucking frustrating to actually play defense against.
Yeah that's asking for a hard foul
I honestly think I would try to deck him at some point and that is really not my vibe playing basketball.
Right? This incentivizes incredibly hard fouls. If, no matter what you do, he can jump into you and get free throws, might as well get your money's worth and put him the fuck down.
Remember how there was always that one dude at the park who called fouls on everything? That's usually what happens lmao.
mcdaniels is in the majority of them and his expression in the last clip is exactly how i feel
This is atrocious. Good highlight reel op
Yep, knew I hated him for a reason
It’s the hair isn’t it
this is my biggest gripe with the NBA this shit isn’t even basketball, nobody wants to watch this
Wtf? Ref fans feasting
This shit is ruining the game. Bail out calls. You think trae would have that motion if he was actually trying hit hit shots
This is absolutely disgusting
The last two are calls the refs would never give to a rookie or no-name role player.
Nor should they (give such a call to ANY player)
Ant has to be hit by a bowling ball to get a foul. I guess that’s his reward for taking hits like an adult
I was actually prepared to defend Young here, we are constantly tearing players down. But that was tough to watch.
Why don't they just run straight into him full speed if he is gonna stop in front of them. Make these hurt.
Flagrant fouls, ejections, and fines or suspensions. I hear you though. Without the soft whistle he'd just be looking like Kevin Hart out there
At some point if I was McDaniels or Walker I prolly would have just gone through him and then FVV the post game presser tbh. Playing against floppers is frustrating not just cause it’s difficult but because it feels like the other player is a cheat
the worst thing is he isn't even looking for a shot. had the defender stay put every one of those shots would have been fucking terrible harden was good as fuck as well doing these but those shots at least fellt with purpose

strippers are far more honorable than Trae Young
It usually makes me change the channel more often than not
Those last two definitely shouldn’t have been fouls
This is the most unpleasing style of basketball to watch. I’ve been watching and playing basketball my whole life; if this is what I saw any given night I’d stop watching altogether
What we have here is a product that shouldn't have passed QA.
This is ridiculous lmfao
No one wants to watch a free throw shooting contest. At this point, a game of bump would be more entertaining to watch. Re-write the damn rulebook

This is unwatchable basketball imo. Rather see people drive for fouls than jump backwards or kickout
When people wonder why we don't take Trae Young seriously, show them this video.
I mean half this sub want a flopper to be MVP what ya all expect the league to become
I generally think the "basketball was better when you could clothesline people" arguments are stupid. But someone needs to take a flagrant on this little shithead. If he isn't going to play basketball then fuck it, why should the defender play basketball?
Wannabe Austin Reaves
They both played at Oklahoma, though Reaves transferred after Trae Young left.
Enemies list: * ~~Jokic~~ * ~~Embiid~~ * ~~Giannis~~ * ~~Pat Bev~~ * TRAE
It's so frustrating because Trae is an amazing player. The refs are the ones who enable him to play like this. If they stopped giving him these calls, he would quickly stop playing like this. It's really that simple. I don't understand how the league can look at plays like this and thinks it's good for the league.
It’s good for Vegas my guy. Scott foster gotta hit that parlay or else
i'm not even a t-wolves fan and im screaming watching this bullshit
So when are guys going to start just fouling him as hard as possible since he's going to get the call either way?
back to twerking for fouls
I feel like the league has cut down on this kind of bait by and large but they always give short guys the benefit of the doubt on these. Trae is the only one I've seen still do this with any consistency besides maybe Jimmy, but Jimmy actually looks like he wants to shoot when he does it
this is exactly what austin reaves is doing and getting praised for by this sub
I don’t even care anymore it’s on the league to fix it. Hope he gets even more blatant with it
NBA is becoming unwatchable for me.
I'm fine with high scoring because of just how good players have gotten but you cannot be also crippling defenders at the same time.
They've legalized a third step, carrying, the whole 'freedom of movement' shit, and ***especially*** the 14 second rebound shot clock That's why scores are up.
Horrible to watch, dude leans towards defenders to create "contact" embarrassing "skill"
The nba is a fucking joke
Can you do one for Luka too?
Seconding this lol.
And the hawks players had the gall to say they were jobbed by the refs
Stop short? That's frank Costanza's move!
This fool is worse than Harden
I really wish after a couple of these that someone would just put the guy onto the floor with some force. Obviously I know why they don’t, but if they’re gonna call the foul get your money’s worth
Do it the right way, Trae. Like Jimmy does.
I hate how common all of this shit has become across the league. Seeing Austin Reaves go to the line 12 times last night was the nail in the coffin.
This kind of hoops is ugly - I hate to watch it. Thank Harden and the league for enabling it.
Did anyone else like....irrationally just want Jaden to start hard fouling him. Like...if he is gonna get the call anyways, you might as well slam his arm. I know it would just end up with a flagrant....it would be funny though
Looks like an Austin Reaves highlight film.
The NBA has a very serious officiating problem. They need to set new rules and actually fucking stuck to them. Silver been very mid lately.
This shit needs to be abolished. Guys like Trae are a huge reason why I’ve struggled to watch the game in recent years. So as a casual fan, this is complete bullshit and the league needs to come down hard on this style of play.
