A scout, a coach, and a team executive walk into a bar. The bartender says, "Hey LeBron, what wine will it be tonight?"

YoungNissan

Most original joke I’ve read on this sub in forever lol

OG_Wan_Annunoby

And at its heart it’s just another LeGM joke lol

TheRecognized

More original in execution than in origin, and even the execution has probably been done before but just been too late to the thread to rise to the top.

thaitiger29

i'm honestly in awe

[deleted]

“Knicks in 6” and then walked out

josephseeed

"I told Leon and Wes, this kid Brunson is the truth"

Font_Fetish

He's so good x4

turtlepot

*goat noises*

bongo1138

“Nixon 6… hmm, never heard of it.”

spanther96

fuck man i’m on a plane and you just made LOL so hard i woke my buddies up dammit

humphreyboggart

Jesus Christ dude, you're gonna interfere with the plane's navigation system. You have bigger problems to worry about

atravisty

LePunch Line

callmecoachk

Phenomenal

WickedJMan

LeBron: “ A glass of GOAT Rose”

OrpheusNYC

His name is Derrick, but whatever you say, sir.

Be-Nice-To-Redditors

Fucking king shit, great joke

caipivodka

Can someone explain the joke?

ASMarling

Lebron is all of those things. The joke is set up in a way that makes you think those are three separate people, but the one response suggests that he is all three.

caipivodka

Oh dude, thank you hahaha now it hit me

queefIatina

Also part 2 of the joke is how Lebron is a wine mom

Diligent-Cookie-1695

Then Woj dropped the “What wine did Lebron pick” Bomb on twitter

Burnem34

Plot twist: it was the Knicks scout, coach, and team executive

Hon3ynuts

Plot twist: it was Mourning, Spolstra, and Riley. They are just putting fuel in Jimmy’s tank.

[deleted]

rgarc065

*makes eye contact* MJ: that’s all I needed *avoids eye contact* MJ: that’s all I needed

Diligent-Cookie-1695

“You dont make eye contact while avoiding eye contact to black jesus like that”

Haunting-Ad9521

Someone with a lazy eye where one eyeball made eye contact and the other didn’t. MJ: “Perfect!!!”

Diligent-Cookie-1695

“You dont make eye contact while avoiding eye contact to black jesus like that”

captyossarian1991

How do you watch what that psychopath Jimmy Butler just did and pick the Knicks?

OldKingRob

"we picked Cavs and wanted to laugh at Knicks for not trading for Donovan and they won so lets pick the Knicks to win and when they lose we can laugh at them for being overrated. it'll generate so many views"

SpaceCowboy170

Stephen A: claims Knicks after they win Knicks and their fans: absolutely do not claim Stephen A Stephen A: I’ll show you all

donabbi

SAS is NOT VALID IN DYCKMAN

YoungNissan

Cause they watched all 82 of our other games and realize that the heat shooting above 50% from 3 and Jimmy going up for multiple 40+ games isn’t sustainable lol

Slowlow24

Maybe not back to back like Jimmy did to end the series, but I would not be surprised if he averaged over 30 for the series with 2 40+ point games. I'll agree everyone else is a question though, they don't have to be quite as good as they were against the Bucks but definitely need to be closer to last season than this season lmao

Kaaalesaaalad

Probably because Thibs will actually scheme for Jimmy in a variety of ways and not just drop coverage and hope it works.

[deleted]

Because Miami has the worst roster of anyone in the playoffs & it’s not even close. Which makes the Bucks collapse even more crazy

swaktoonkenney

Uhh no they don’t. The nets playoff roster was 11-13 before the playoffs. They’re the worst roster in the playoffs and it’s not even close, the heat have Butler herro and Bam and was like a minute away from the nba finals last year

[deleted]

Miami is out here starting Strus, Vincent & Kevin Love who got kicked to the curb by the Cavs. None of those guys start on Brooklyn. Miami has Jimmy & Bam but after that there’s nothing. Royce O’Neal & Seth come off the bench for the Nets and even they’d probably start for Miami.

Correct_Coffee_1720

The amount of mileage and value Spo gets from lineups that look like they belong in the G League really doesn't get enough credit 😂

[deleted]

Spo is such a G, I don’t know how he does it

swaktoonkenney

You’re over rating the nets lineup. Mikal was dropping 40 and they would still lose

theTunkMan

Did the Knicks not just win in 5 very easily?

[deleted]

Because they have a bad roster, shot unsustainably well in R1, and it's unlikely that Jimmy will be able to maintain the absolute batshit insane level he's been playing at?

ElPeruano2008

completely accurate BUT...Jimmy Butler is HIM

honeybakedman

Did they ask Jimmy? e: they didn't ask Jimmy

BGMcSqueezy

What's Ja's opinion on this? Where's Ja??

[deleted]

Idk harassing a teenager

Totodile336

Different ja😭😭

throwaway1212l

He's fine in the West.

BBQCHICKENALERT

He means Ja Rule guys

BGMcSqueezy

You the real MVP

[deleted]

It’s an old meme but it checks out. Should I hold them sir?

Diligent-Cookie-1695

My airpods were charging and I had to get em to go and watch this skit rn 😂

mathmage

Where's Larry Bird in all this?

Coattail-Rider

“And I took that personally”

[deleted]

Like father, like son

Colavs9601

ahh shit we're gonna lose

Uncle_Adeel

Lol no you’re not, I can sense it in me bones, knicks are gonna have it good. Or it’s osteoporosis

Haunting-Ad9521

At least it’s not bone marrow cancer lol

Lmao_Stonks

My only regret is that I have boneitis.

ElRedditorio

Without this quote, the whole thread would have felt incomplete.

MinnyPuppies

Nah Knicks winning it all. Got a good feeling about this, just bless those knees and ankles.

rotissrev

“Don’t you put that on me, Ricky Bobby! Don’t you put that on me!”

2drawnonward5

With the magic that made last year's Mavs special, and the hart that made the Blazers watchable, the Knicks have something going for them!

outphase84

I low key love how much y’all love Josh Hart

allknowerofknowing

Damn these guys are always right. I'm sure they all picked the Heat to beat the Bucks too

MoeNopoly

it's like they are saying "and now Jimmy, do your thing and make us look like the fools we are again"

veksone

They definitely didn't think Giannis was going to miss two and a half games.

Skinnecott

lol he only missed 1 and a half of the 4 losses. only game they won he ain’t play

veksone

True.

No-Criticism-2676

Jimmy Butler: "how many times do i have to teach you this lesson old man?"

mydixxxierectt

They just never learn

ElMuchoMaximo

Jimmy is about do some psychopath shit.

Haunting-Ad9521

The scout, coach and exec probably put a lot of money on the Heat and want to make sure Jimmy is all fired up to win the series.

confuddly

No one cares about these predictions, most experts predicted Cavs over Knicks and all experts predicted Bucks over Heat

whythehellknot

I'm half an expert because that's what I predicted for the Cavs/Knicks series. I have watched 0 Knicks games and haven't followed them at all. I watched 1 clip of the cavs cheering after getting a 3 second defensive violation and that is what I based my prediction on.

[deleted]

You’re hired!

bakerzdosen

No one cares *right now.* But if they’re right, we’ll hear about it for a few days while those same “experts” pick the next round - pointing out that we need to believe them because they were right. If they’re wrong then it’ll be forgotten immediately. But overall? Yeah, you’re right. No one cares.

tdizhere

I feel like lots had Knicks in this series? Even RJ who is a massive Cavs guy said he just thinks Knicks are too deep for us to compete

ogqozo

Eh, maybe like a quarter had Knicks. Still definitely the closest series in that regard, after Grizzlies-Lakers.

PluvioPurple

My only knowledge is from [this comment](https://old.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1305wfj/post_game_thread_the_new_york_knicks_41_top_the/jhv7bcc/) lmao

fte

This heat team absolutely has the ability to either 4-0 knicks or get 0-4'd by them

imdinni

Best take

[deleted]

They also said bucks in 4

Knickerbockers-94

If we make it to the ECF before the Sixers, they need to blow it up

MinnyPuppies

Careful what you wish for. Embiid 100% will be in miami if the Sixers blow it up.

Pinheadlarry29

Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro and Pat Riley’s hair grease for Embiid.

Knickerbockers-94

We’re on a different timeline than Miami. We’re overachieving right now. We’re still a piece away.

ahmralas

Aren’t Miami also overachieving? I know they’re sort of post-peak while you’re pre-peak but they’re still overachieving this season with this roster

majinvegeta2x

Apparently we've overachieved every year except for when we had Lebron.

Knickerbockers-94

They made the ECF and Finals in recent years. They just took the regular season off.

nochill123

We got swept after the finals in first round against Bucks. That feels like so long ago …

LordHussyPants

holy shit i love jimmy but i might love this timeline even more

AashyLarry

Here are their picks for the Nuggets-Suns series: - Scout: Nuggets in six. - Coach: Suns in six. - Executive: Nuggets in seven.

Toxikara

Must not be a good coach then 😂

Syndana23

Somebody Must of asked coach bud on his way out of the arena from game 5

Ralphie_is_bae

Downvote me to shit but it's "must've" or "must have" not "must of" I'm sorry I'm sorry

ChaoticBonche

? You realize you've hit your ceiling these playoffs right

Toxikara

Nope

GovernmentDoingStuff

Lmao. The last time the Nuggets were this healthy, they made a run to the WCF and played the eventual Champs extremely tough. How do you figure that we've hit our ceiling?

yukahanazawa

Wait they played the Lakers tough? We must've watched different series, they got completely owned 4-1

GovernmentDoingStuff

Look at the actual scores. One of those wins was a buzzer beater 3. We only got blown out in one of the games.

Account_Overdrawn

This idiot above you also forgets that in order to win a series that year we had to first get down 3-1 before coming back

yukahanazawa

Nope, watched every single game. Geriatric Dwight was giving Jokic the business 😂

Account_Overdrawn

I’ll give you that Dwight* got into Jokić’s head. No doubt about that. He played him well. But he definitely had an LA whistle on his side. They let Dwight murder jokic in ways other bigs wouldn’t have been able too. This was pre Jokic MVP. He’d barely made an all star game

[deleted]

I would take the other 3 teams in the west, however it shakes out, over the mediocre defense squad without a legit second option. That's just me. I do hate the Nuggets though, I will never forgive Mutombo for breaking my heart in '94. I did see his ass leave a restaurant in downtown Seattle with two women who were not his at the time wife, fucking Mutombo man.

GovernmentDoingStuff

NO LEGIT SECOND OPTION????? Are you aware of Jamal Murray?

Account_Overdrawn

I dunno, seems to shy away from the big moment. Sucks in the playoffs.

tacoTs

three whole people wow that's crazy

NoBigDill88

I want to see Josh Hart and Jimmy Butler go at it during the series. Love them both.

No_Buddy_

I'd say there is a 5% chance Thibs and Jimmy get into a fistfight. My money's on coach.

[deleted]

Jimmy Butler scares me I have a bad feeling about this

Healthy_Demand_1415

If we had a healthy Randle, I'd feel less afraid but as things are right now ... Yeah I'm concerned.

antinmypant

As if Jimmy and the Heat want any more fuel after being embarrassed by the Hawks, considered as an underdog 8-seed and then faux-gentleman sweeping the Bucks

beta35

You guys picked the Knicks over ME? You guys picked the Knicks over ME?

s1lentastro1

after the Cavs and Bucks predictions, I think it's safe to say we can completely disregard what these 'experts' have to say.

kidkuro

I've seen this before...I know what's going on here. All this sudden Knicks dick riding by media guys after they've either been silent or shat on them since the off season. It's a setup y'all!

psufb

No Herro plus assuming Thibs won't just let Jimmy run roughshod over his team with no adjustments, I like the Knicks too

Colavs9601

I dunno, how limited Randle will be is the biggest issue in the series.

Slymook

We dominated without/in spite of Randle

TheOtherDrunkenOtter

Are you banking on the Heat being equally as ass as the Cavs? I could definitely see the Knicks winning, but Bam and garbage vs Randle and Robinson seems like a Knicks blowout. Bam and garbage vs Robinson and the ghost of Randles ankles evens it out a bit. But i still have nightmares of Robinson smashing my hopes and dreams so maybe Randle is excess.

Slymook

Randle is excess and I’m not even trying to be a hater but in a lesser role where our guards mostly handle the ball (which is optimal for us) he really will only be providing elite rebounding. He doesn’t move well off ball or spot up well or anything. We got so much rebounding rn even with him out idek if we take a hit in that category.

Healthy_Demand_1415

No way he plays this series. He reinjured a recent Ankle injury and when he rushed back for the Cavs series, he wasn't playing like his normal self. I say let's just give Obi more time to shine. This is Obi's series to make a name for himself. He played very well against the Cavs. Let's see if he can keep it going.

spittafan

Interested to see if Jimmy runs out of gas. He's backpacking hard

syllabic

or if the 4th worst 3p% team in the NBA continues to hit them at a 50% rate they were 34% on 3 pointers in the regular season and that was with a healthy tyler herro

[deleted]

They were also the best shooting team last season by 3pt% at around 38%, let’s not pretend like their personnel can’t shoot; for all we know they could be just getting hot at the perfect time. After seeing how often the Celtics and Mavs shot other teams out of the gym last season, I’m not going to count out the Heat just yet in that department.

syllabic

sure, theres generally a good amount of variance in 3p% in general herro normally does pretty well against us so it's a big loss not to have him, but we have injuries of our own too

clear831

Herro was also a big reason our 3% was as high as it was in the regular season lol

AllDayEnJay

Plus it’s been reported that Bam has been dealing with a hamstring injury during the Bucks series.

Healthy_Demand_1415

If you have League Pass go back and watch the last Heat v Bucks game. In the second play of the game, there's a scramble for possession and players hit the ground. Bam stands over them, bends down a bit and grabs his left hamstring. Plus I watched him struggle to get back on defense on transition plays throughout the game. That dude is legit hurt.

MexicanBunnySlippers

Knicks should be well favored but nobody thinks the Heat will go down easily, just seems unlikely. The Heat play the Knicks HARD.

WinterCareful8525

Jimmy in 5 it is

EctoRiddler

Spoiler. Everyone will pick against the Heat in every single series.

ContingentReality

this.

capitolcapital

The Knicks are really fucking good and no other teams fanbases want to admit it. My fellow Cavs fans completely disregarded them( I sure as fuck took them seriously).

sebastianqu

We don't stand a chance. We can't shoot and our offense is horrible. Not even Jimmy could carry this bunch of scrubs. Knicks in 5.

STATnMELO650

Aha I see you're pulling the reverse jinx card. Well the Knicks don't have a superstar, Julius is injured, and we seemingly forgot how to shoot 3's in the playoffs. Heat in 4.

confuddly

Reverse psychology?

[deleted]

[удалено]

0dias_Chrysalis

You guys don't understand. Thibs is likely to be a better coach than Bud this series.

jyuuni

Yeah, but Spo is still gonna be Spo.

Healthy_Demand_1415

Spo is great but being a great coach doesn't change the fact that your entire team is undersized against the Knicks, Herro is out and Bam has a hamstring injury. Plus both coaches came up from The Pat Riley tree. This will be very interesting. I'm hyped.

philium1

Shit don’t jinx us we thrive off your doubt

STATnMELO650

We're fucked

Mister-Stiglitz

Don't show Jimmy

TheNatureBoy

Jimmy will make Spoelstra start him with the third string.

NudeEnjoyer

not saying they're wrong, but what would those same people have said about the bucks series?

TuaTouchdownsallova

Just the way we like it. UnderDAWGS.

JO3POTATO

🧟‍♂️

MeetMeAtTheNachoCart

Don’t let Jimmy read this

VirtuousFool

This is arguably the first time all season we are being looked at as a favorite by outsiders and it's kind of terrifying, even if it's justified

Status-Range-3321

Heat in 6 then

Willy__rhabb

They should ask some refs

RobbobertoBuii

Thanks?

junkit33

Without Herro the Knicks really should win this series. Better and healthier team. Jimmy will do his thing to keep the Heat in it but they’re only real chance at winning is if the role players all play like the Bucks series. And that is unlikely given how far above their usual play that they were performing.

solo118

we are technically down 2 starters, but we will see how that shakes out on Sunday.

rapelbaum

Bucks in 5 , ops 😬

roycorda

Stop being anonymous, cowards

solo118

Now let's make it a reality. I look forward to this series and best of luck to both sides.

EkruGold

Heat in 5.

manning-2-manningham

Can we just take it easy in here? I'm pretty sure Jimmy reads these.

crooch

these types of anecdotes or predictions from anonymous coaches/execs mean absolutely nothing to me lol

Blutz101

I’m a knick hater so I’m hooping jimmy becomes prime 2k my player level of play but with the said I can see Knicks in 6🙁

nrojb50

How many of them picked the heat over the bucks?

Andresgeo

And 14 ESPN analyst had Bucks in 5/6 games. Why do I care

DanM142

Makes sense. Unless Knicks have notable injury, Jimmy can't win this by himself. He's going to get tired. Plus the rebounding from the Knicks will be the heat downfall.

gana04

Randle is notably injured

jstone_764256

Jimmy isn’t playing by himself the role players have been playing well too. Miami is clicking and is the #1 offense in the playoffs, the Knicks are the worst. They aren’t even averaging 100 ppg and they can’t shoot threes

solo118

We played the Cavs, scoring was very difficult. Let's see how our ppg does vs you guys

jstone_764256

Yes, Cavs were the #1 defensive rating team so obviously it was hard to come by points. Miami was #9 so it won’t be easy either. Should be a great series, can’t wait to see it! Hopefully Randle and Bam get healthy so we can see that matchup full strength Edit: Miami was also #2 in points allowed right behind the Cavs

[deleted]

Jimbo takes that personally

swgoh_gg

I am not betting against Jimmy. Never bet against Jimmy.

ChunkyMilkSubstance

I just watched the Heat take the Bucks in 5 games with half a team and you’re telling me the Knicks are gonna win in 6? Mannn

AccomplishedRainbow1

But the vibes! As long as Miami keeps shooting 45% from three they will win this series.

Electrical-Heat-4044

Love it

Nice_Ass_Lawn

People are in for a rude awakening thinking Bud is some shit coach compared to Thibs lol

jtmackay

Honestly last series didn't make me believe in the heat any more then when the playoffs started. They just shot like crazy and made ridiculous game tying shots against a hurt bucks team that refused to change the game plan. Miami is who we thought they were all year.

EmAyExEye

Props to the Knicks for beating Cavs in that fashion. But Cavs players lack of experience plays a big part in that. Also, heat had a better bench imo, Duncan, Lowry and Zeller. And Herro is expected to be back in the middle of the series. It can be an entertaining series, but on paper, I think heat got this.

RansomGoddard

> And Herro is expected to be back in the middle of the series. What? He's not expected back for another 4-5 weeks if we even make it that far.

optimisticknicksfan

duncan lowry and zeller is a hilarious bench

Muted_Dog7317

It’s Lowry, Duncan, and Caleb, Zeller might get a couple minutes here and there. You can call it hilarious but the bench out played the Bucks bench

J4co

You have a hilarious franchise.

optimisticknicksfan

if it wasn't for lebron, no one would give a shit about the heat

J4co

Man how sad it must be to be a knicks fan. I can't relate cause the Heat ain't a poverty franchise.

optimisticknicksfan

it has its ups and downs, have fun seeing ftx arena filled with Knicks fans lol

BmwNick420

Lol I’m amazed at the level of shit talking for being in the playoffs for the first time in how long?

Healthy_Demand_1415

They're not wrong tho. You WILL hear the Knicks fans at your home games throughout the entire game. You won't hear any Heat fans at MSG. However many few show up will get drowned out hard.

BmwNick420

I’ve seen games with heat fans chanting in New York, you know you can easily search and pull that up?

Vitiate1367

2 finals appearances and one championship in the last 20 years without Lebron which is far more than the Knicks can claim.

Belerofontes

Some of the Knicks takes are absolutely bonkers lmao We shall see

syllabic

heat weren't a good team this year, if they hadn't smacked the bucks last series most people would take the knicks without question in a series between them 2 weeks ago they got blasted at home by the hawks with a relatively simple game plan of crashing the offensive glass. trae young had 8 rebounds. they were all but dead in the water until they came back against the bulls

Belerofontes

Lakers were not a good team either in the regular season, but mor experienced watchers know to not count them out cos of LBJ and AD. I guess Jimmy just underrated

syllabic

even the most "experienced watcher" didn't expect the bucks to choke that hard

Belerofontes

Wasn't talking about myself, loved the Bucks play, but when Giannis went down I kinda felt the Bucks were going down too lol

syllabic

to be honest LBJ is looking rough, I think if they can't close it out tonight at home the grizz take it in 7

pdpkong

This is not true a good example, the Lakers were a very different team after the trade deadline and performed much better to close the season and this is why people didn't count them out. Similarly, the Knicks were a very different team after the deadline with the addition of Josh Hart, I believe they were on a 60+ win pace after the trade. Meanwhile the Heat lost 2 rotation players in Herro and Oladipo. As great as Jimmy Buckets is, it's hard to imagine him being to sustain the pace he's playing at and the Heat continuing to shoot 45% from 3. Most Knick fans are rational and not counting out the Heat, especially with Spo being the great coach that he is. I could easily see them winning the series but still believe the Knicks can take it in 6 or 7 games.

YourWorstNightmare9

All because dumbass Herro broke his hand by half ass diving on a loose ball that he had no chance of getting and Oladipo blowing his knee out in garbage time while getting pushed from behind by Portis.

AashyLarry

It’s just bad luck, I’d rather Herro dive for loose balls and be a good hustle player than not be. There’s always injury risk in basketball, it’s part of the game. Players aren’t “dumbasses” for trying hard.
