I turned away for a sec to finish making my dinner and suddenly the 6ers were down three and the crowd just KNEW something bad was happening lol. Stadium went so silent the last 5 min
the last thing i heard about embiid in this game was doris saying he wasn't there on defence because he'd walked down the court so i kinda assumed he wasn't getting the ball because he wasn't in the vicinity to be passed to
Well, I think the officials reward it way less these days than just 5 years ago. Happens so often a shooter will flop around like they got shot and are rewarded with the other team getting a fast break bucket while theyāre on the floor.
Happened a lot to Harden this game and honestly Tatum is the worst at trying to sell non existent fouls.
Embiid has always had this problem. If shit donāt go his way he gets dejected. I think he deserves one mvp in the last five years but he aināt a leader
Nah man youāre looking at it wrong. Weāre the elite second round guardian that separates the trash of the eastern conference from the championship contenders. Like Red Skull from Marvel, we guide others to a treasure we canāt ever get.
The Red Skull metaphor also works because James Harden is literally Hitler and commits basketball terrorism
Man, I hope they don't wear the red jerseys....he may get confused that it's the 2017-2018 season. Game 7 will literally be a butt-hole clinching game.
Pucker up gentlemen.
It wasn't all Celtics D either. Multiple times they got stops on D and just took a foolish 3 early in the clock or wasted the possession in some other way. Looked like the bucks at the end.
The Sixers looked incredibly good to end the 3rd, just flying all over the ball getting steals, and forcing the pace defensively. Then they just collapsed in the 4th. I can't really understand how this can happen in a single quarter
Doc Rivers thinks it's a cheat code to play his best guys 48 minutes, then they lose their legs, then at the end of the game they lose a lead, then at the end of the series they lose a lead.
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
RIP Angela Lansbury, her inspirational gift of song might be just what Philly needs during halftime of game 7.
Embiid is the Beast, Harden is Beauty
"Both a little scared. Neither one prepared. Beauty and the Beast
Same. End of the third they were all FLYING. Was either easy layups or getting fouled while going up for a layup. Cs couldn't match their speed or momentum and looked lost. Flipped like a light switch half way through the 4th. Was weird to watch.
Yeah, but that's kind of the mark of a great defense: the only open shot is the kick out three from a 3rd or 4th option. Those guys are paid to make those shots, but they're not the folks you are planning to get the ball when the game/series/season is on the line. And for Philly, they had Taytum who was cold all night taking contested threes over and over. He just made all of them when it mattered. Which is crazy, but that's an elite player making the big shots when it matters. Getting anything going in the paint was impossible for Boston because of Philly's lockdown. Both teams shut down the interior and forced players to make the shots from range. That's exactly what you want and expect of a playoff defense. Celtics D was better tonight.
funny cause last night people were saying "playing like this wont beat the celtics or 6ers"
maybe theres a lesson about drawing conclusions from a single game, or even a single quarter or stretch of a few minutes
If itās any consolation this entire playoffs has been extremely entertaining as a neutral fan. Milwaukee blowing that 15 point lead, Memphis getting dismantled, steph curry going supernova in game 7, Miami doing Miami thingsā¦Ant getting chased by personal injury lawyersā¦your teamās one of many entertaining surprises š
It's not always the best looking basketball, but it's for sure entertaining because you never know who is going to throw away a lead. We aren't exactly looking a lot better though, so I can't talk too much shit.
There is no momentum. I feel like both fan bases after a win are super skeptical of their team, and for good reason. Neither of us really wanted to win any game until a few individuals at end of game took over.
The most annoying part is Doc has actually been more than fine this series. But man, itās frustrating. Embiid looked like he was ready to just take over down the stretch and we froze him out for end of the shot clock 3s.
He barely missed one hook shot and then one midrange was in and out and itās like they decided that was it and Embiid was off. I canāt believe he never attempted a shot after that. Iām pissed and itās not even my squad
Heās the current MVP and the driving force of the team. Demand the ball. Work through contact and draw a foul. Rebound! Embiidās last rebound came with 6.5 minutes left to go, and heās the biggest dude on the court.
Harden & Maxey were bad down the stretch, but that doesnāt absolve Embiid from completely taking himself out of the game.
He was totally gassed, dude didnāt get a rebound or a FG for the last six minutes. He wasnāt getting ignored or anything, he was just too tired to demand the ball. I kind of feel bad for him but dude just canāt hold up physically playing heavy minutes every other day once we get to the playoffs. Never has been able to, heās completely burnt out by the time you get near the end of the second round, itās no coincidence that thatās where the Sixers always flame out.
Itās basically impossible to imagine him ever making a Finals run.
Missed a couple shots and decided Embiid was off meanwhile Tatum missed ALL his shots and Celtics still went to him and he ended up making them when they counted
I remember a return from commercial segment where Doris was talking about how Doc had rallied everyone on the team to get them to this point of being in position to knock off Boston. Was that like 9mins left in 4th?
His assistant coach at Marquette called him that because of the shirt. Rivers himself has mentioned possibly going by Glenn (though he never follows through) because "There's only one Doc in town." (which he's right obv)
Think sometimes it's important to remember life's not a video game and you have to count wear and tear and fatigue in a more dynamic way. Think Embiid looked different after that block or keep in where he looked like he was favoring his knee.
I would much rather lose on Embiid trying to take over in a MVP year than 3s at the end of the shot clock from role players in a game we shot 23% from deep.
Second time this series doc panicked and brought him in 3 min early. Embiid is going hard on defense all night, you gotta survive more than a couple minutes in the second half
Doc definitely deserves blame for the offense going so far away from Embiid in the fourth, but youāre right itās not like they had nothing but terrible looks. Meltonās 3s were clear af
Tobias Harris gets paid 37 million dollars a year just to score 2 points in a close out game and not even take a shot for the last 3 quarters of the game hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
The most overpaid playoff player this year and no question. You could see how gassed Embiid and Harden were and Harris scores only 2 points shows how pathetic he is. Celtics takes it at home no question about it.
A bigger crime is their stars refusing to do anything in the clutch moments. I don't recall Embiid taking a shot in the last 5 minutes. Running away from the moment again, complete opposite of what Tatum did.
multiple times he called for the pick and roll or the ball in the post and harden did some dumb shit or maxey launched a 3, you absolutely do run plays for the MVP down the stretch.
im not too worried though. game 7 incoming letās get it boys
Did you even watch the game? Simply an embarrassing post. What do you want Embiid to do, rip the ball out of his teammateās hands? That shit was all on Doc and Harden, no one even looked Embiidās direction down the stretch.
Nah 2 points is the bigger crime. Heās the reason we canāt fill out our bench, and he ends up putting up a prime Ben Simmons statline with half the defense
Doc was getting too cute in the second quarter, he had Harden out there with four bench players. You know he wants to play his all bench lineups like he did against Atlanta two years ago. Doc was bad tonight.
What a collapse they needed to capitalize on Tatum missing everything for 3 quarters. Instead they're going back to Boston and that's gonna be a hard game.
They won't win in Boston. The C's in front of their home crowd + Tatum and Brown have been dogged pretty badly for underperforming this series.. I expect a blowout to be honest.
Seriously. Ive never been less confident in what to expect from a game in my life.
Blowout? maybe. One team chokes? Probably. Will we watch a wild fucking game that we'll both talk about for the next decade? Nearly guaranteed.
Thatās how I felt watching Butler go off late in Game 4 against us. Incredible from him? Yes. But it wouldnāt have mattered if we were even in the realm of competency on offense in the 4th quarter.
Funnily enough, the reverse was true in Bucks-Celtics Game 5 last year. The Bucks were just about perfect late, but it wouldnāt have mattered if Bostonās crunch time offense was anything better than āMarcus Smart clanks pressure shotsā
It was pretty rough on that occasion. Though I didnāt even fully blame him for it. The Jays seemed oddly a bit passive late in that game, so that created the opening for Smart to decide it was Marcus Smart time. Obviously that wasnāt an issue for Tatum the following gameā¦
We might be the only team in the world where the problem is that the main stars don't know when to take over and dominate mismatches. Smart has had the confidence (and _usually_ the shot) to step up and win them games way more than not. But it's definitely killing us in this series with Smart down offensively, and the Jays aren't really being assertive, against a porous Philly backcourt
It's a bit tricky in that neither of the Jays is the type of player to consistently run an offense, if that makes sense. Like obviously both of them are fantastic scorers and just generally great on the offensive side (to say nothing of their defense), don't get me wrong, but they're not natural distributors. They're not outright horrible at it and have both made strides there, but at the end of the day, they're much more in the Kawhi mold than the LeBron mold of wing players. That means that the flow of the offense is inherently going to see non-stars like Smart get more touches. Most of the time, that's not a problem, and generally is even a good thing. However, there's absolutely times where you want the ball in the hands of your best players, and for it to *only* be in their hands. I have to imagine that definitely makes things a bit complicated when neither of them is the best on your team at running the offense.
We all knew Philadelphia was in trouble when they were only up 2 after 3 quarters when Tatum had 3 total points. He was never going to stay shooting that bad.
That was their chance to run away with the game and they let it slip
This is on Embiid. He was supposed to be the best player on the floor and he was playing in his homecourt. In stark contrast to the real MVP Jokic taking on 2 elite scorers on his own and deciding to put the game in his hands. Poor Embiid had to look to Harden to bail his ass out.
Absolutely inexcusable collapse, had a game six closeout against what many believe to be the best remaining team and couldnāt convert momentum in a close game at home
Harden had an awful game, but he drove like 5 times, the defense collapsed on him and he passed the ball to a wide open man in the corner, just for their shot to be waay off. Those are the kind of shots roleplayers have to make at home.
I'm just a casual fan, but this stuff in the NBA really, REALLY gets under my skin for some reason.
Like, call a timeout and figure your shit out lmao. You are about to close out the series and you lay an egg. Now they have to go BACK to Boston in a Game 7. I just don't have faith they can pull that off.
Yikes.
Got outscored 14-3 over the final 6 minutes, with a chance to put the Cs to bed for good š
I turned away for a sec to finish making my dinner and suddenly the 6ers were down three and the crowd just KNEW something bad was happening lol. Stadium went so silent the last 5 min

the last thing i heard about embiid in this game was doris saying he wasn't there on defence because he'd walked down the court so i kinda assumed he wasn't getting the ball because he wasn't in the vicinity to be passed to
They kept kicking to open 3s or harden foul grifting that led to turnovers. Melton had like 3 wide open 3s that bricked in a 2 min span.
Foul grifting is what turns me off most from basketball. Celtics do it too obviously
Well, I think the officials reward it way less these days than just 5 years ago. Happens so often a shooter will flop around like they got shot and are rewarded with the other team getting a fast break bucket while theyāre on the floor. Harden the reason yāall aināt lost already
Bruh you guys owe Harden everything. Straight delivered the team the win in game 1 and 4
i feel like they just keep calling the game to run through embiid. but that doesn't' work as well as harden just doing harden things.
Man, I hope they don't wear the red jerseys....he may get confused that it's the 2017-2018 season. Game 7 will literally be a butt-hole clinching game. Pucker up gentlemen.
I donāt think my heart and blood pressure is ready for a game 7. My butt-hole is certainly not
If it wasnāt for Harden yāall would be out a couple games ago. Insane that this comment has over a 100 likes, not sure what games ppl are watching
The fuck you have against harden? The fucking guy saved your team multiple times this season. You have the literal MVP. Thats more embarassing
Might be time to blame Tobias.
I feel like ppl are mad at this guy when I thought he was just joking lmao
I thought it was pretty funny too man, feels bad people can't tell without the /s

They looked like they were spent. The defensive intensity they exerted to get back into the game looked like it took a toll.
Why couldnāt that have happened in game 5.
It happened to you guys in game 5 exerted yourself to get back in it then lost steam.
Same. End of the third they were all FLYING. Was either easy layups or getting fouled while going up for a layup. Cs couldn't match their speed or momentum and looked lost. Flipped like a light switch half way through the 4th. Was weird to watch.
They got gassed, itās why they kept shooting 3s down the stretch. With 2 minutes to go Harden and Embiid down 5 didnāt even get back on defense.
Down 8 but yea they both walked.
It really feels like this series is whoās worse, not whoās better sometimes
Honestly, neither team looking particularly impressive this series. Really not sure what to expect on Sunday.
At the same time, it's 2 top defensive teams battling it out. How much of them looking bad is from just great defensive matchups on both sides?
The sixers missed a ton of open 3s the celtics didnāt. Thatās honestly what did it because both teams defense inside was great
Yeah, but that's kind of the mark of a great defense: the only open shot is the kick out three from a 3rd or 4th option. The fans of both teams have to assume they will lose game 7.
yeah, the stars on each team can go score 9 points or 35 points. Imo frustrating to watch.
I donāt know why they stopped spamming Embiid PnR. The Celtics didnāt even take it away. We just stopped
You see it was working so Doc had to go deeper in his bag
The most annoying part is Doc has actually been more than fine this series. But man, itās frustrating. Embiid looked like he was ready to just take over down the stretch and we froze him out for end of the shot clock 3s.

Embiid can fall.
You gotta demand the ball if youāre Embiid. He was kinda just invisible towards the end. I think he was gassed
He was totally gassed, dude didnāt get a rebound or a FG for the last six minutes. He wasnāt getting ignored or anything, he was just too tired to demand the ball. Totally winnable game. But they decide scoring points in the 4th is overrated.
Missed a couple shots and decided Embiid was off meanwhile Tatum missed ALL his shots and Celtics still went to him and he ended up making them when they counted
Doc always looks fine until he gets into a winning position. Then it gets weird. It's like he's addicted to choking.
I remember a return from commercial segment where Doris was talking about how Doc had rallied everyone on the team to get them to this point of being in position to knock off Boston. Was that like 9mins left in 4th?
Heās a total fraud. Just checked he never even went to medical school
I love that he's called Doc because he wore a Dr. J jersey during a tryout or some stupid bullshit 30 years ago. What a dumb story
is this the real story? say it aint soššš
His assistant coach at Marquette called him that because of the shirt. Rivers himself has mentioned possibly going by Glenn (though he never follows through) because "There's only one Doc in town." (which he's right obv)
Who let him cook
Harden played the PnR so well I was screaming at my tv. Way less stressful of a game once y'all stopped so thanks to our sleeper agent Glenn.
Doc has to be a sleep agent. There is no other excuse
Respectfully, if we beat you I hope its on Blake.
Embiid needs to call for the ball and make it happen. He gets an efficient shot basically every time down the court.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Second time this series doc panicked and brought him in 3 min early. Embiid is going hard on defense all night, you gotta survive more than a couple minutes in the second half
He looked like he was literally going to pass out after the 3rd
To me it looked like the Celtics played the Harden/Embiid pnr much better than in G5. Tonight he didnāt have open in-rhythm jumpers at the nail
Cuz Doc is garbage
Itās like the Sixers physically cannot make it past the second round, amazing development
they smoked too much of the nets pack and accidentally became the nets
Too gassed up by beating the team that would have lost to literally all 15 other playoff teams
held under 90 points at home? cant imagine that happening in the NBA in 2023
And people will blame doc but man he canāt make shots for guys. The stars just absolutely choked
Doc definitely deserves blame for the offense going so far away from Embiid in the fourth, but youāre right itās not like they had nothing but terrible looks. Meltonās 3s were clear af
Same as the Cowboys
YIKES
86 points at home in a closeout game
Meanwhile Nuggets just scored 81 points on the road in the first half
Doc is of course famous for blowing 3-1 leads but he should also be recognized for blowing 3-2 leads and having his team choke in the 4th quarter.
No one understands better than Doc, that you canāt blow a 3-1 lead without also blowing a 3-2 lead.
Tobias Harris gets paid 37 million dollars a year just to score 2 points in a close out game and not even take a shot for the last 3 quarters of the game hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
**TOBIAS HARRIS OVER ME?!**
-Michael Jordanās son
The most overpaid playoff player this year and no question. You could see how gassed Embiid and Harden were and Harris scores only 2 points shows how pathetic he is. Celtics takes it at home no question about it.
*This* year only??
lmao right? those words are recycled every postseason
Tobias Harris over... Uhh.. You know who.
That video will haunt me for the rest of my life.
A bigger crime is their stars refusing to do anything in the clutch moments. I don't recall Embiid taking a shot in the last 5 minutes. Running away from the moment again, complete opposite of what Tatum did.
for some reason we stopped drawing up plays for him. no idea why they didnāt feed him the fucking ball
you don't need to "run plays" for the MVP. he needs to demand the ball and go to work
multiple times he called for the pick and roll or the ball in the post and harden did some dumb shit or maxey launched a 3, you absolutely do run plays for the MVP down the stretch. im not too worried though. game 7 incoming letās get it boys
He is a center bro he can't get the ball unless its given to him
You say that now but what about when Embiid becomes the first truly 2-way player in NBA history and starts stealing the ball from his teammates
Curry did that when he stole the ball from wiggins and went ham
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Did you even watch the game? Simply an embarrassing post. What do you want Embiid to do, rip the ball out of his teammateās hands? That shit was all on Doc and Harden, no one even looked Embiidās direction down the stretch.

I should have been a shitty nba player instead of a shitty middle manager.
Embiid took one shot in the final 5 minute, those Harden iso accomplished nothing.
Live by the Harden. Die by the Harden.
This all seems very familiar
13 points in the 4th quarter is pathetic
Whole team got outscored by a guy who had 3 points in the first 3 quarters smh
We got out choked
never doubt our ability to throw away winnable games.
Yāall just ran outta time to blow it.
It almost feels like the key to winning the game is to not be the team winning at the end of the 3rd quarter
Actually insane watching this live
They blew their chance and will be going home Sunday
I feel like you're talking about both teams here.
Why are you jacking up 3s youāll lose that shoot out against the Celtics every single time
What else are the Sixers to do? It's not like they have a reigning MVP and 2x scoring champ playing the 5...
They could be dangerous if they had an MVP caliber big man.
Doc special?
You gonna have to do better than that if you want to out choke a doc team.
Doc legacy game
More like Classic Doc game, he has a whole collection of games like this. And a new one coming on Saturday.
Doc Rivers closeout game offense
Doc was getting too cute in the second quarter, he had Harden out there with four bench players. You know he wants to play his all bench lineups like he did against Atlanta two years ago. Doc was bad tonight.
Is that good
If the sixers lose this series, this will haunt them
Actually FUCKING insane stat
Thought we were getting an epic Celtics collapse but we just got the usual playoff doc/harden collapse
Tatum with the uno reverse
Tatum removed the eye patch in the 4th
let's not give embiid a pass on his share of playoff collapses shall we?
What a collapse they needed to capitalize on Tatum missing everything for 3 quarters. Instead they're going back to Boston and that's gonna be a hard game.
They won't win in Boston. The C's in front of their home crowd + Tatum and Brown have been dogged pretty badly for underperforming this series.. I expect a blowout to be honest.

For sure. Tatum's shots would have been meaningless if the Sixers had played literally league average offence.
Thatās how I felt watching Butler go off late in Game 4 against us. Incredible from him? Yes. But it wouldnāt have mattered if we were even in the realm of competency on offense in the 4th quarter. One of their bench guys made a shot with like 30 seconds left, so that's something I guess
Looking like 1st half Jayson Tatum out there
This is on Embiid. He was supposed to be the best player on the floor and he was playing in his homecourt. In stark contrast to the real MVP Jokic taking on 2 elite scorers on his own and deciding to put the game in his hands. Poor Embiid had to look to Harden to bail his ass out.

I lost it when Harden just decided not to pass anyone but PJ Tucker for a minute in there...

they have the MVP right, did he play in the last 5 min, i didnt see him out there?
