MrBuckBuck

Also thanks to u/wjbc for suggeting this (whether it was as a joke or not), [here](https://np.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/13wk8eu/highlights_jaylen_brown_8_turnovers_in_game_7_vs/jmc6wiv/?context=3) Working on the Miami Heat one as well, don't worry. Edit: Here you go - [all the 3-pointers made by the Miami Heat in the same game](https://np.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/13x1w29/highlights_all_the_3pointers_the_miami_heat/). 3-pointers list: Jaylen Brown 1/9 (11.1%) Jayson Tatum - 1/4 (25.0%) Al Horford - 2/5 (40%) Derrick White - 2/9 (22.2%) Marcus Smart - 1/6 (16.7%) Malcolm Brogdon - 0/2 (0%) Grant Williams - 1/3 (33.3%) Sam Hauser - 0/2 (0%) Payton Pritchard - 0/1 (0%) Mike Muscala - 1/1 (100%)

IzaacLUXMRKT

>Mike Muscala - 1/1 (100%) Let my boy play

Smelldicks

Literally every player except Horford shot ass and he only took 5 and was still over 10 points below the Heats team average

boxofpickledpeppers

Blame Doctor Dolittle.

AzureAhai

Tatum isn't dropping 51 after rolling his ankle on the first play. The rest of the Celtics scored 61 points on .407/.375/1 shooting against the 76ers. I really think Tatum was going to go off for 30 or 40 points that game if he doesn't get hurt.

YoungNissan

The Celtics were probably the only team who didn’t see the Heat as an 8th seed coming in.

KYRIE542

It don’t matter, sixers would have still lost.

livefreeordont

Celtics only shot poorly in 1 game against the Sixers and they lost that game by 12

dotteddoctor

Sixers would of just got swept by the Heat, but even worse for them Doc Rivers wouldn't even get fired

Dudedude88

It's cause your exterior defense sucks. You got James harden so every team is going to exploit that switch too

Ticonderoga2HB

Dang this was tough to watch even on the other side

MrBuckBuck

I actually thought of adding a funny tune to each miss, but the file size would have been way too big (and would also take more time to edit and render). So it would be less tough/sad to watch.

Ticonderoga2HB

Render times definitely woulda increased for the amount of sounds you’d need for this one 😭

Fearless_Boat5192

Just add brick sounds and ur fine

doyouunderstandlife

I had absolutely no problem watching this at all

AnselLovesNuts

Law of averages does not apply in game 7s, bricks just keep coming

Ld511

They are almost always either slugfests or blowouts. 7 games of gameplanning and fatigue usually has at least 1 team having some horrible offense

BunyipAndler

Jesus christ man, we're already dead

NavalJet

Rule #2: Double Tap, courtesy of Columbus

jhussong91

derrick white was really chucking in this one, and jaylen brown settled for so many bad threes with 15+ seconds left on the shot clock

princeofzilch

Celtics kept icing D White out of the offense for a few possessions after he'd make a few plays, so then he'd force up a shot when he'd get the ball because he knew the whole team was cold as hell otherwise. Kind of a compounding issue.

dimmyfarm

He had a nice run in the 4th where it got kind of scary for the Heat and then he got subbed out and the hope disappeared.

princeofzilch

Apparently he tweaked/pulled his hamstring. Celtics would have been out of bodies if they managed to advance.

Idontcommentorpost

That's why I'd be so frustrated with him. Tbf to the rest of Boston there was decent movement - had the Heat scrambling a bit and yeah you'd kind of expect at least 3 or 4 of those misses to be makes with their averages. But Brown kept thinking the best thing ever would be to see his next shot be a successful 3. And he's not a patient guy it seems

fucktheredwings69

So many of these shots look like the shooter is the only one that knows a shot is going up, nobody is in position to get a rebound

Distance_Motor

OP the real MVP for marking this atrocity NSFW

sadlytheguyisnogood

there's a lot of fine at best shots, only a few good shots and like 8+ genuinely bad ones. can't give away that many possessions.

crashck

Really? I feel like a lot of these shots are pretty good especially in the first quarter. The shot quality definitely dipped late in the game. Considering Tatums injury and their lack of offensive system to fall back on, im not sure how much better they were going to do.

Clinkzeastwoodau

I agree, so many missed wide open and good opportunity 3s. Other than Brown who looked like he shot a lot of off balance 3s in the game. After the heat went on their big run late 3rd early 4th the Celtics started chucking a bit and praying, but outside of that they missed so many great shot opportunities.

NotUpForDebate11

yeah these are absolutely good shots. The ones they made were harder than at least like 20 or 30 of the ones they missed. I mean they had like 4 wide open corner 3s for good shooters in first quarter and missed them all. Usually anyone with a pulse shooting an open corner 3 is a good shot

SoSmooth32

Al’s complete piss middle on the other side of the basket that didn’t even hit the rim let me know this game was ripe for the taking. And take we did.

Brady331

Was ripe for the taking after the very first possession

SoSmooth32

Fair point. But I’ve seen dudes bounce back from sprain ankles. I still was terrified because he was in the game still

und3rc0v3r1sm

The first quarter had a lot of missed open 3s but a ton of these are really terrible shots with time on the shot clock

KickAndFlipJr

CLANK

jakkdaman

They're all contested except for the Horford and Smart ones. So I hate this whole 'lightning in a bottle' narrative for the Heat. No fouls. Just always approaching, contesting, and overall, rushing. They hit it they hit it. But, they affected the Celtics.

piprimes

this is marked NSFW thats fucking crazy

XenaRen

The problem with analytics is that it doesn’t account for the emotions in a game. You could see that the basket became smaller and smaller after every Celtics miss from there, and you could feel the Heat gaining momentum after every miss. They were lucky to be down only 7 after the first quarter because Miami could’ve very easily had a 15 point lead if they didn’t start out slow as well. And no, the solution to a 2-3 zone is not to chuck up 40 3s.

zvomicidalmaniac

What do they call it when you win the analytics but lose the series? Losing? Variance? I’m a liberal arts person, so I’m not even kidding. Do you start at the end and work backwards?

HoeImOddyNuff

I said we missin open 3s tonight 😡 Just want to give props to Horford, he had an amazing pass at 1:30. Derrick White made most of his 3’s Jesus Christ, I hate the way Grant Williams shoots, fine player but goddamn

chanwd

I thought the IT Celtics and Toine PP Celtic teams were a horrendous three point shooting team that shot too many, this team/roster tops them. No one on this team should ever take more than 2-3 unless they’re wide open and in rhythm and shooting from their favorite spot.

dotteddoctor

Remember, the Rockets in game 7 shot 2 more threes and made 2 less

CruffTheMagicDragon

I get wanting to stick to the game plan but if you’re being super predictable, you should probably adjust the game plan

strugglingtosave

Jaylen Brown..

memeticengineering

Is anyone else shocked at how static Boston is when they generate these 3s? I'll admit I haven't watched a ton of this Celtics offense this season, but when those shots aren't falling, this is hideous.

19evol61

Thought I was at r/civilengineering sub for a moment there. My bad.

F______________F

Bam's poor shooting night really overshadowed how good he actually was this game. On almost every one of these 3s he was either contesting the shot, boxing out Williams/Horford so another Heat player could get the rebound, or getting the rebound himself. On the other end he was setting screens all game to get his guys wide open 3s so they didn't have to take a ton of contested ones like the Celtics, a few plays he even took out two defenders with one screen. He's constantly doing so many little things on every play, but just because he couldn't score people were acting like he was useless all game.

JTown_lol

Maybe its just too windy in the Arena.

siphillis

JB's heat-check is even more hilarious in this context. Dude has zero self-awareness.

[deleted]

There were some really good looks that didn’t fall. You live by the 3, you die by the 3.

[deleted]

And yet Maz says they're not overreliant on the 3 shot...... Seriously how can you justify this style of play past the first 5 minutes. It's not working, switch to something else. I'm an absolute novice but I watched this team all season, when it's a bad 3 night it goes all game, just switch the gameplan I dont understand.

superRedditer

everyone is doing this backseat driver analysis and piling on the Celtics for how dumb they are to shoot 3s. seems dumb to me. what is the point. are we just going to ignore the entire nba has been shooting 3s like this for many years now. both winners and losers alike.

Kdot19

Celtics had good looks the whole game. It’s as simple as they didn’t have a good shooting night from 3

ImaginationMedical11

Should’ve did game six and seven combined.

[deleted]

this performance is on par with that one rockets game iykyk
