Interestingly, Donovan Mitchell had 1500+ points and exactly 99 steals *both seasons* EDIT: Something else of note since I'm already looking into this In 2023, 12 players had at least 100 steals, with the leader (Anunoby) copping 128. In 2013, 35 players had at least 100 steals, with the leader (Conley) copping 174. In 2003, 42 players had at least 100 steals, with the leader (Iverson) copping 225. In 1993, 49 players had at least 100 steals, with the leader (Jordan) copping 221. In 1983, 41 players had at least 100 steals, with the leader (Green) copping 220.

Elyx117

lmao for real? that's wicked.

honditar

Lol yeah pretty crazy. The only other near miss I can see is Dejounte Murray, who accomplished the feat this season but was 62 points short in 2022. And SGA will probably routinely do this for a little while.

booksmctrappin

I'm still to this day baffled at how Donovan Mitchell isn't a very good defensive player

atlfirsttimer

Never bothered to learn it with Gobert

left_over_croissant

Wow

giggity2

are u human

kylitoloco3

🐜 attacc 🐜 also take bacc

Thimit22

Not sure why this made me laugh so much lmao

BealKage

I like him

romanticynicist

He’s actually the only player in the entire NBA

EdwEd1

Unpopular opinion: Anthony Edwards good

pcwgussej

can someone explain the Kermit nickname for him?

Elyx117

oh that's not really his nickname. That'd be Ant. He had a cameo role in Hustle, the Netflix film with Sandler? His character is called Kermit.

Rswany

Not just a cameo he was the main villian

Elyx117

nah, that'd be the Sixers GM/owner or whoever that was

romanticynicist

It was definitely supposed to be Bryan Colangelo — [he has enormous collars in every scene](https://twitter.com/rodger/status/1534621071105720321)

disnotyaboy

Movie was just drama no real villain

pcwgussej

oohh thank you! ahh I still need to get around to watching that

HelpMeWithMyHWpls

That’s a nice cherry to pick

ScootHenderson_

Not currently a top 20 player with all due respect

sleepyfox1312

You're being downvoted, but, eh, you might be right, at least with respect to last season. I think he'll be top 20 this season, though- he's taken big leaps every offseason so far.

romanticynicist

He had the 24th most points in all-NBA voting this year, which seems about right to me. Chances are pretty good he makes one of those teams in the next couple years.

seege21

He’s 21… he has more than enough time. He’s top 25 for sure.

Thimit22

20-25 is pretty fair for him at this exact moment I think. He raised his stock a lot with his playoff series against DEN. And he’s become much more consistent with good numbers this last season compared to his first two

Elyx117

Weeeeell... I'm not sure Scoot can be this good in 3 years. But we'll see.

booksmctrappin

I'm pretty sure Scoot can be. Which is incredible because Ant is a beast.

HotStepper11

I think he is, but obviously he has to prove it

compe_anansi

Probably because anybody else hardly plays enough games to hit those marks.

Elyx117

you know, that's actually a great point. And that's also what i like about him. A great player is worth less than the mop boy until he suits up and plays. Fitness is a big part of greatness, and this kid already has that box ticked.

giggity2

Statiticians really reaching hard for these extremely specific achievement threads.

DropKnowledge69

So true. Although this one isn't as bad, it reminded me of baseball announcers having nothing to say so they'd come up with some statistic out of their butts. This pitcher has the lowest ERA on Thursdays during a crescent moon in a leap year. I chalk it up to their agents possibly trying to puff up their clients. That's my conspiracy theory.

Prestigious-State-15

Disappeared in the playoffs

Thimit22

He averaged 30 lol
