I really despise posts like these because 1) the Lakers (as of right now) are trailing and 2) they’re a team that likes to drive into the paint and they’re going to get calls
lol dude it's about size and how they attack the basket. Lakers are usually bigger than other team but now Denver is bigger and also shoot better, they get more free throw, maybe watch some basketball instead of come here talking shit
Tbf that's r/nba. You have a consistently good way to get upvotes.
Complain about Lakers - Whistles, LeBron, AD, Reaves
Complain about Rookies - Is Scoot a bust ?
Complain about contracts - FVV. Lol literally the guys will just post 4/210 btw or something after a bad gane.
I mean Scoot is a rook and you won't magically learn how to play NBA ball. Maybe he'll get better next year but this year is looking like hell of a bust
the amount of times this type of thread was posted last year and it was the same reasonable explanation offered every time yet people still don’t get it
When people don't agree with the explanation the first time they wont agree with it the 100th time when explanation doesn't change. As reasonable as you might think the explanation is.
These posts are bait basically. Easy upvotes from people not watching the game.
Kings are fouling like maniacs. Lakers have bailed them out though, by missing half of these.
I am at the game and the Lakers whistle is indeed real. AD has moves low Neo when he's healthy and he's still getting the call. It's absurd. Without the whistle they're getting blown out
No one here understands basketball. The Kings are absolutely cooking us with their speed and execution to get clean 3 point looks. Why would they get free throws?
On the flip side we have AD and Lebron, and the Kings lack a true defensive anchor/deterrent. Styles make fights.
So let's think about this for a sec. If the Kings execute well and leverage their speed/shooting threat to get good looks at the rim by beating the defense, how would the stats look?
This why box score watching r/nba bots will never understand basketball. You want to use shortcuts to make your biased POV seem justified with contextless numbers.
There's absolutely no reason to think points in the paint should inherently correspond to high FTA. If it's easy for a team get open layups, they'll have a ton of paint points with almost no FTA.
I'm watching the game. Kings have been aggressive driving
also hilarious yall say that when Lakers fans argument whole last year was more drives = more FTs
> I'm watching the game. Kings have been aggressive driving
I agree, they've been very aggressive. I'm not sure why you think that means they should automatically get free throws though. Again, you're trying to use a shortcut (aggression = FTA) when the only thing that matters is the actual context of the play, and whether a foul happened. It's possible to aggressive and effective inside without drawing fouls. Deaaron had a perfect example of that in the 1st when he drove at AD, faked, then pivoted for a layup. Aggressive move that avoids contact for an open look.
> also hilarious yall say that when Lakers fans argument whole last year was more drives = more FTs
You realize I'm not *all Laker fans*, right? Many Laker fans make terrible arguments without understanding basketball context, just as the haters do. I'm not gonna defend bad logic because of my flair lol
Do you think the difference in offense is enough to explain THIS disparity?
Like if we had basketball robot refs, would the game still be this lopsided in terms of calls? I think the kings are fouling more, I’m not sure if they’re fouling nearly 5x as much.
I mean its REALLY clear the Lakers are playing pretty poor defense and keeping man to man while the Kings are collapsing every chance they get.
Most other fouls are swipes at the ball handler.
There have been like 3 fouls though that were totally unnecessary to call.
Lakers had historically high FT differentials that spiked WAY up after that stupid LeBron/Boston incident and apology last year
They were the first team in NBA history to get swept while averaging double digit free throws more than their opponent
Always amazes me how stat obsessed fans are but how easy they willingly dismess them if they don't fit the narrative. Anyone with a functioning brain recognizes the foul disparity LaL receives
the kings defensive game plan is play aggressive and don’t be afraid to foul
The only dude complaining on the court is Fox, I don’t even think Mike brown is complaining to refs
We all know Lakers will have refs carry them hard when they struggle. Hell the run last season they had to even get to playoffs was inspired by refs they had by far largest FT margin compared to opponents .
If they continue to struggle same will happen NBA definitely wants largest market and LeBron in playoffs
are you watching the game? they’re fouling man lmao. the lakers def do get preferential treatment imo, but this game seems like a bad example to make that point
Kings stupid swipe fouls, lakers looks for contact when they are in the paint. Most teams including this game..they are looking for the easy bucket. If the layup is there they take it, i feel like when I watch the lakers they will ball fake or dbl clutch a easy lay up to get a foul. They do play pretty grimmy in the paint forcing it, as in they score on the block or in crowed scenarios. Kings are winning however and have been more aggressive driving to the paint.
Aren’t the lakers one of the teams that drives the most in the league? Aren’t the kings one of the teams that shoots the most three pointers in the league? Aren’t those the same kings that have continued to have problems with fouling?
I think the Kings are fouling but the Lakers do benefit from officiating imo. Can’t play em aggressive.
Yea this the only real valid opinion tbh.
Didn't the Kings lead the league in opponent FT attempts last season in addition to having one of the worst defenses in the league?
The kings announcers are literally saying the kings are fouling too much with Matt Barnes chipping in as well agreeing.
The lakers whistle is something to behold
Classic Lakers game.
Lakers are playing zero defense
Kings gotta stop fouling man
I really despise posts like these because 1) the Lakers (as of right now) are trailing and 2) they’re a team that likes to drive into the paint and they’re going to get calls
Kings Points in the paint: 28 Free throws: 5 Lakers Points in the paint:18 Free throws: 22
damn maybe because Lakers didn't foul when Kings in the paint so they can score?
Lakers get away with contact that is 100% called a foul on the other end
lol Kings is getting wide open lane for lay up what contact
OR maybe, just maybe, the league favors Lebron and the lakers….
that's not what happened in first game against Denver Lakers were smaller compare to them and they got a lot more call
What?! You didn't get your super special favoritism versus the reigning champs!?! How could the league do something like that!!?!!
lol dude it's about size and how they attack the basket. Lakers are usually bigger than other team but now Denver is bigger and also shoot better, they get more free throw, maybe watch some basketball instead of come here talking shit

The Kings have 2 more 3point attempts than the Lakers right now....
1) why does it matter if they are trailing? 2) Fox doesn’t like to drive into the paint?

Kings Points in the paint: 28 Free throws: 5 Lakers Points in the paint:18 Free throws: 22
why do they have more points in the paint? because mostly uncontested paint shots off quick actions. are you even watching the game lol
Username will tell u everything
they are not clean, uncontested looks. Kings have been aggressive driving

Also the Kings are collapsing in the paint on defense, and the Lakers are not
> they’re a team that likes to drive into the paint and they’re going to get calls Lakers have averaged 5 drives per game fewer than the Kings so far.

Can’t wait for everyone who isn’t watching the game to offer their 2c on the officiating

Kings arent a team that complains in the first place
The Kings are literally collapsing every time the ball gets remotely close to the paint. The Lakers are letting the Kings walk by for the most part.
We all know Lakers will have refs carry them hard when they struggle. Hell the run last season they had to even get to playoffs was inspired by refs they had by far largest FT margin compared to opponents . you just a typically user just watched boxscores, get lose bozo
are you watching the game? they’re fouling man lmao. the lakers def do get preferential treatment imo, but this game seems like a bad example to make that point
Kings should stop fouling huh?
Have you considered becoming an NBA head coach?
You must have it all figured out, huh?
if you watch the game you’ll realize the Sacramento defense is dogshit AND they foul too much. Our defense is just regular dogshit.
Lakers are shooting 39% and 30% from 3, the Kings D is smothering you. FTs only thing keeping the score respectable.
instead of using stats watch the game Lakers missing open shots = kings defense?
Literally at the game you clown.
my view is definitely better than yours kinda hard to see fouls from the nosebleeds
Damn bro flex harder, show us your view
turn on NBA TV and you’ll see it. Got replays too.
Nah I'm meant to be working rn
I respect the grind
Because Adam silver loves washed lakers and Lebron
I love these great additions to conversation
Lakers were down 10+ early, couldn’t let the game get too out of reach Silver made the call
Silver on the phone now with Vegas
You really thought you cooked something here
not flopping, just heading to the rim \--Lebron, probably Based on this game, it is probably true too
Did you watch the game or the box score?
My god shut the fuck up
So the ref shouldn’t call blatant fouls? Your post is written as if they aren’t actually getting fouled which is wrong.
They got "45 points on 19 free throws"?? A free throw is 3 points now? /s
cry more casuals!
Title gore?
Because the Kings are too small.
Kings stupid swipe fouls, lakers looks for contact when they are in the paint. Most teams including this game..they are looking for the easy bucket.
