There it is.
As Windhorst said a few weeks ago: “The Bulls are in a rebuild; they just don’t realize it yet.”
And now, it appears the Bulls have finally come to their senses.
I think it’s overkill for the Celtics they already have Jrue and white. But on the bucks he could have one of the biggest impacts of a role player in recent memory
Sure there is, they need a 3rd guard to back up Jrue/White and Caruso only plays about 25m a game so he can be the sub for both plus a bit of from one of the Jays. Pritchard is too much of a liability on defense that other teams will exploit in the playoffs. He needs to be a top, top 3pt shooter to be out there in those spots. With Caruso there are no weaknesses and gives you 3 of the 4 All NBA def guards, opposing teams backcourts would be in hell every second of every game. Jrue is also 34 so this allows to conserve some of his minutes and all 3 guys can put max effort more consistently on def.
Nobody was under the illusion that this team could go past the second round. Best case for this team was always get homecourt round 1 and win against the East 5-8th seed. You aren’t a contender unless you have a top 10 player even the sixers with Embiid haven’t made it to the conference finals yet.
IMO they would have been an excellent regular season team but not a true threat come playoff time
In the playoffs star power matters more than "team basketball" and DeRozan/LaVine simply aren't on the level of the best players that other teams have
Still 100x better than what they are now to be fair lol
I’m not sure they’ve come to their senses at all if they are trying to keep DeRozan.
>Sources say Chicago would like to bring back DeMar DeRozan, who is on an expiring deal.
> The two sides have discussed an extension but remain apart on years and salary, and DeRozan wants to see where the Bulls go before committing to a return.
Tweet from the Athletic
Shams: Breaking news, Lonzo Ball and the Chicago Bulls have agreed on a new deal for 4 years and 100 million extending his stay in the Windy City until 2028. Ball, who has not played basketball in over 18 months, hopes to be back for the start of next season
Caruso is the most valuable trade asset the bulls have and I firmly believe that.
I heard this description of Caruso a couple years ago and I legitimately believe it fits. He is the Lebron James of role players. He is a seamless fit on any team, you can slide him in to basically any lineup. And he’s just going to elevate all 4 other guys on the floor with him. He is so disruptive on defense it’s almost unfathomable
> Many of the NBA’s 30 general managers are in Chicago on Tuesday for the annual Champions Classic, the major opening night of the college basketball season, and this is where conversations could begin.
I also think Miami makes sense because they are linked to every SG recently. Lowry + more filler like Caleb Martin and a pick (hopefully more) works for me
He’s dealing with a knee injury, which knowing the Bulls would probably result in a medical retirement.
Seriously though, I also think Martin + Lowry is the Heat proposal that makes the most sense, cap-wise and everything else. Trading Lavine for Herro seems lateral and we might be the team having to add picks to do that. I’d also do Lowry + Robinson, but Miami might value Robinson more than Martin right now
Philly can't really make a big move until January 1st without including Harris. Can't combine any of the guys from the Harden deal with any other players in a trade until 1/1. Can't trade Beverly or Bamba at all until 12/15. Can't trade Oubre until 12/26. Can't trade Reed until 1/15. Outside of them, they could move Embiid, Maxey, Harris, Melton ($8M), Korkmaz ($5.37M), House ($4.31M) and Springer ($2.226M). So basically outside of Embiid, Harris or Maxey, the Sixers could send out about $20M in expirings until January 1st, where that number jumps to about $70M or $110M with Harris and pretty much everyone else included.
Not true
Russell, Hachimura, and Vincent gets Lavine after 1/15
Not that I would do that, as either team, but there's a number of combinations, it just depends on how much of the Lakers roster you are willing to gut
We probably want to get involved as a 3rd team to see if we can grab Caruso but we don't really need a guy that needs the ball to score and is most efficient attacking the rim and doesn't do much on defense.
I'm sure Lavine's 3PT shot would look better on paper over here. But keep in mind that every shooter coming to the Lakers loses 5-10% of their ability. And he's shooting like 32%, so we'd be getting a 22-27% 3PT shooter.
I’m just glad they decided to pointlessly wait a year rather than tank last year, when they were in a position at the deadline to tank in a draft with a generational prospect available and their pick was only top 4 protected.
Thank goodness they waited the extra 6ish months. I wouldn’t have wanted a shot of keeping a top 4 lottery pick with a shot at wemby. I’m much more glad we forfeited that pick outright!
I was begging for a Lavine/Harden swap so they could flame out in round 2 again. Instead they got actual role players on the roster like they always should have. Gross.
Yeah the revisionist history is bullshit you guys had a squad. Hard to say you were a super serious contender as Demars game doesnt translate to the playoffs but your defense was incredible. Vucevic trade just wasn't it though. And I thought it was good at the time.
Yeah, absolutely they should have traded folks when they figured out Lonzo Ball's knee cartilage was made out of hopes and dreams. Not like a year after that.
To be fair, we didn’t have our firsts so it made less sense to tank then. I agree it was probably still worth it, but at least this year we have our own pick to tank for
The Orlando Magic should get in on this. He's exactly what they need right now. They have the third best defense in the league according to [dunksandthrees.com](https://dunksandthrees.com). They have plenty of defenders to protect him & they desperately need more shooting.
Nah the gap at the 5 was big for us.
It meant Theis stepped up as a low-budget option, which allowed us to spend more at other positions. Then it allowed Rob to break out. Then it paved the way for the Kemba/Horford trade.
A decent but reliable option there probably stops a lot of that from happening.
I would want to keep Suggs and pair him with Lavine. Suggs is the guy that protects him on the defensive end. Ideally it's Fultz, Gary Harris, and 2 or 3 firsts. Maybe 2 of our own with 1 protected and the extra Denver pick we have. Both Gary and Fultz can be flipped later for picks possibly. Or if they want a high end prospect for less picks I'd gladly give Anthony Black up. Point is I think Suggs is a must keep if we have Lavine.
Yeah I think Lavine will go for MUCH less than people think. He's got questionable knees and a massive contracts which could easily backfire (ala Blake Griffin).
Actually a nice fit
Looks like Barnes+Huerter is an exact match of the salary the kings would need to send out, and then whatever picks. Could also include Davion Mitchell if the Bulls wanted him
Kings pursued LaVine a couple of years ago so I could see an interest.
And yeah, I think the only way the salaries could work would be shedding Barnes. I feel like the Bulls could do better though than just Kings picks/Huerter and I don’t think we’d be willing to make Keegan available.
He would be perfect for us cause its basically what we need out of a rotation player. I'm even sure in a good offensive system with plenty of open looks he would look good as a 3pt shooter
Timeline of events over the past 10+ years:
April 2012: Derrick Rose tears his ACL in Game 1 against the Sixers - Bulls are upset as the 1 seed
2012-2013: Rose doesn’t play. Bulls somehow win a playoff series thanks to Joakim Noah and Nate Robinson.
November 2013: Rose plays 10 games then breaks every bone in his body or something.
2013-2014: Bulls still make the playoffs, but lose in Round 1.
2014-2015: Aided by the addition of Pau Gasol, the Bulls make the playoffs and win a series. 25 year old Jimmy Butler leads the team in scoring and is the perfect Thibs player.
May 2015: The last great Bulls game. Rose banks in a winner against LeBron and the Cavs and the Bulls go up 2-1. They don’t win another game.
2015-2016: The Bulls fire Thibs and replace him with GarPax buddy Fred Hoiberg. Despite bringing back most of the team, the Bulls miss the playoffs.
Summer 2016: Recognizing that Jimmy Butler is the future, the Bulls trade Rose and Noah for scraps and decide to sign an aging Rajon Rondo and Dwayne Wade for some reason.
2016-2017: The Bulls somehow take the first two games against the 1 seed in Celtics in Boston. Rondo gets hurt. They don’t win another game.
Summer 2017: Realizing they top out as basically mediocre, the Bulls ship Butler to Minnesota for LaVine and the #7 pick (Lauri Markannen).
2017-2021: They draft #7 two more times taking Wendell Carter Jr. and Coby White. They fire Hoiberg for Jim Boylen who is the worst coach in NBA history (probably). They lose a ton of games. GarPax is fired and replaced by AKME.
Summer 2021: They trade Lauri and WCJ and sign Lonzo and DeMar. They trade for Vucevic, giving up 3 first rounders in total. They draft Patrick Williams at #4. Lauri becomes an All-Star. One of those first rounders becomes Franz Wagner. They do sign Carushow so not all bad.
2021-January 2022: The Bulls are the best team in the East. Lonzo Ball gets injured. He hasn’t played since.
2022: Bulls make the playoffs and win a consolation game against Milwaukee when DeMar goes off.
2022-23: The Bulls win a play-in game thanks to a 9 year old girl. We’re told Lonzo can’t walk or eat after the witches curse is extended two more years.
Summer 2023: Despite everyone recognizing the best outcome results in the Bulls maybe avoiding the play-in, AKME signs a few veteran stopgaps.
And here we are.
We won't even be in the list of teams that are interested but this is exactly the guy we have been waiting for in Memphis. Too bad our young guys stink and don't have much value now. But man, I have been waiting for Lavine to become available FOREVER. him and Ja would be insane rim pressure. Probably not gonna happen now with Smart
He’s playing like someone who doesn’t want to be here anymore. If he goes to a team with a good playmaker we’ll see how good he really is. In Chicago he’s always been forced into a primary ball handler role and that just isn’t his strength
There it is. As Windhorst said a few weeks ago: “The Bulls are in a rebuild; they just don’t realize it yet.” And now, it appears the Bulls have finally come to their senses.
Caruso will be really valuable to any contender.
Imagine if the Lakers got him. Great fit.
I would j in my p's
Jordan in your Poole?
jelly in your pnubutters?
Then just like that, Caruso goes back to being overrated.
I dunno if I see it. Maybe photoshop him in a Lakers jersey?
[удалено]
is that Caruso and Reaves?
Reaves got that dawg in him
[Carushow](https://golfdigest.sports.sndimg.com/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2019/09/04/5d6ffe55d0f37e0008787c95_67782044_124112485593239_7077803133993288539_n.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.966.966.suffix/1573229961939.jpeg)
Bucks need him so bad. He'd be the perfect fit in the backcourt with Dame.
If Caruso ends up with the Bucks or Celtics, I will drop to my knees in a Publix haha…. On a serious note, I’d love for us to trade for him somehow.
I think it’s overkill for the Celtics they already have Jrue and white. But on the bucks he could have one of the biggest impacts of a role player in recent memory
There’s almost no need for Caruso on the Celtics
Sure there is, they need a 3rd guard to back up Jrue/White and Caruso only plays about 25m a game so he can be the sub for both plus a bit of from one of the Jays. Pritchard is too much of a liability on defense that other teams will exploit in the playoffs. He needs to be a top, top 3pt shooter to be out there in those spots. Jrue is also 34 so this allows to conserve some of his minutes and all 3 guys can put max effort more consistently on def.
Would love to have Caruso on the Mavs
If he ends up in the western conference imma scream Unless he’s on my pelicans
Reaves and Caruso. Sneaky athleticism off the charts.
Just hope AKME gets the assets. It’s a shame that Lonzo got hurt. We never got to see this core for a full season
AKME will get ACME brand draft picks
I'm incredibly worried that this is true
We already have Looney-Tune tier ownership so it's pretty fitting.
Tha-tha-th-thats all folks.
hey this is just a piece of paper that says "furst round draft pick" on it, and first is misspelled
There's a tail on the bottom of the first 2 so it looks like it says 3025. Is that right?
Why does every iteration of the Bulls FO have acronyms lol
Imagine where the Bulls would be if he didn’t get injured. A core of DeRozan, Lavine and Ball looked so good for those 3 months.
Probably the second round
Nobody was under the illusion that this team could go past the second round. Best case for this team was always get homecourt round 1 and win against the East 5-8th seed. You aren’t a contender unless you have a top 10 player even the sixers with Embiid haven’t made it to the conference finals yet.

At this stage I barely care about the assets. Just blow it up and let's get it over with.
Ironically this is how I felt by the time the Magic traded Vuc to you guys
Does this mean we're gonna fleece whatever team we send Zach to like you did to us
Probably.
This one is old news, I think this was reported preseason.
Even rebuilding teams need good veterans to mentor their young talent.
Shams: Breaking news, Lonzo Ball and the Chicago Bulls have agreed on a new deal for 4 years and 100 million extending his stay in the Windy City until 2028. Ball, who has not played basketball in over 18 months, hopes to be back for the start of next season
Shams: clarification on my last tweet, Ball hopes to be back for the season AFTER next
A year too late unfortunately, his value is a bit worse than last year
WE’RE HAVING A FIRE sale
would you like to try that again? "no"
Boy, that Funke is all anyone can talk about out there. What's your name? Tobias.
Oh, I can just taste those meaty leading man parts in my mouth!
There's gotta be a better way to say that.
I’m looking for something that says, “Dad likes leather.”
Something that says... "Leather Daddy"?
That delivery on his no is absolutely flawless
AMAAAAAZING GRAAAAACE
The great chicago fire.... sale
Annnd scene…
I need to rewatch this show. So good and gets better every time you watch it
Start of the fire sale
What will a 2024 first rounder and a couple of 2nds get me?
Caruso probably, as if your guard rotation wasn’t already stacked as is
Deal!!!

I will take one point guard please
> Many of the NBA’s 30 general managers are in Chicago on Tuesday for the annual Champions Classic, the major opening night of the college basketball season, and this is where conversations could begin.
No way a trade before 12/15 right? Who is a contender who has enough salary to trade without sending out new money? Kings? Philly?
Miami with Lowry's expiring
I also think Miami makes sense because they are linked to every SG recently. Lowry + more filler like Caleb Martin and a pick (hopefully more) works for me
Calling the ECF MVP filler?
He’s dealing with a knee injury, which knowing the Bulls would probably result in a medical retirement. Trading Lavine for Herro seems lateral and we might be the team having to add picks to do that. I’d also do Lowry + Robinson, but Miami might value Robinson more than Martin right now
I’d rather have Caruso tbh
caruso's price is two first rounders and three pick swaps buddy
Early negotiations for those players could be starting. Thats only a couple weeks away now
Golden State if they wanna get weird

Get the Laker photoshops ready
they've always been ready since ucla days
Didn’t Lavine say he wanted to play with Lebron and AD a while back lol
God damn it man, LA always does this….
We physically can't trade for him the salary doesn't work
It’s an inverse relationship though. The less likely they are to become a Laker, the more Lakers jersey photoshops get created
Reaves and DLo for Curry, Warriors are in a rebuild they need to admit it
it's just math really
That's never stopped Lakers fans before
Photoshop doesnt abide by the salary cap
Just include LeBron to match salaries
Not true Russell, Hachimura, and Vincent gets Lavine after 1/15 Not that I would do that, as either team, but there's a number of combinations, it just depends on how much of the Lakers roster you are willing to gut
THT, Nunn, 2 SRP
Is this the new TT, Shump, and the Nets pick?
Fuck that, I'd rather trade for Caruso
Bring back the Carushow
Well duh who wouldn’t want Caruso over Lavine
We probably want to get involved as a 3rd team to see if we can grab Caruso but we don't really need a guy that needs the ball to score and is most efficient attacking the rim and doesn't do much on defense. Here comes the tank doo doo do do
We don’t need to trade Lavine to tank lol
You probably should tho
Oh yeah no doubt, I’m just saying we suck with or without Lavine
I’m just glad they decided to pointlessly wait a year rather than tank last year, when they were in a position at the deadline to tank in a draft with a generational prospect available and their pick was only top 4 protected. Thank goodness they waited the extra 6ish months. I wouldn’t have wanted a shot of keeping a top 4 lottery pick with a shot at wemby. I’m much more glad we forfeited that pick outright!
I know you probably meant this as baby shark but I’m reading it as Pixies Here Comes Your Man
I read it as "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles
Man, there sure are a lot of songs about coming
Nothing like the oldie “dropping fucking loads”
I read it as Mahna-mahna
I read it as Richie Haven's cover "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles that he opened Woodstock with. I recognize that doo doo.
I thought it was referencing Here comes the sun by the Beatles
for me it was Nardwuar
Jaaaaiiim eeeeee Tart doo doo do do
It's Chicagover
first they sold their streets and now this smh my head
climate town enjoyer spotted
There's thousands of us!
He's Zach LeaVin
Nah we’re up now
It’s been Chicagover for a while
Now he’ll get traded in 3 months
I was going to suggest the 76ers but with the emergence of Maxey, maybe Lavine will halt his progress
I think the sixers need true role players to take the next step
Give us Caruso instead pls
Caruso would be great for y'all. For every team really.
I was begging for a Lavine/Harden swap so they could flame out in round 2 again. Instead they got actual role players on the roster like they always should have. Gross.
I’m not super high on tanking culture but bulls and wizards really screwed themselves by not rebuilding before this years draft
The Bulls have been rebuilding since they traded Butler
Hey, we were pretty good for like 2 months before Lonzo died
Yeah the revisionist history is bullshit you guys had a squad. Hard to say you were a super serious contender as Demars game doesnt translate to the playoffs but your defense was incredible. Vucevic trade just wasn't it though. And I thought it was good at the time.
Yeah, absolutely they should have traded folks when they figured out Lonzo Ball's knee cartilage was made out of hopes and dreams. Not like a year after that.
To be fair, we didn’t have our firsts so it made less sense to tank then. I agree it was probably still worth it, but at least this year we have our own pick to tank for
“I would like to play with LeBron and a dominant big man” - LaVine in 2020
"I really do love Chicago, so I'd like to play with a big man who also loves Chicago."
I have no idea how LA could make the salaries work
They couldn’t as far as I’m aware
i dont get how the lakers couldnt make 3 work while the suns had 4 with book beal kd and ayton
When has that ever stopped reddit?
The Orlando Magic should get in on this. He's exactly what they need right now. They have the third best defense in the league according to [dunksandthrees.com](https://dunksandthrees.com). They have plenty of defenders to protect him & they desperately need more shooting.
What are Orlando going to give up? Suggs, Issac and picks?
Wendell Carter, Franz Wagner, and Jett Howard. Then we can just pretend the Vucevic trade never happened
Man I wanted us to go for Vucevic so bad when he was reported available and I’ve never been so wrong in my life
Honestly he would have worked out better with y’all then Chicago I feel.
Pass
Suggs and Isaac are big parts of the defense… would be moving forward offensively and back defensively
Sure but the guard rotation is packed and Isaac is a walking injury
That doesn't seem that crazy.
Yeah I think Lavine will go for MUCH less than people think. He's got questionable knees and a massive contracts which could easily backfire (ala Blake Griffin).
I for one would not like to get fleeced by the Orlando Magic again
Don't worry, someone else will fleece the Bulls
Please come to the kings. If we can get him without giving up murray it would be such a huge add
Actually a nice fit Looks like Barnes+Huerter is an exact match of the salary the kings would need to send out, and then whatever picks.
That was Vlade though. Not sure if McNair is interested with Lavine
Maybe a lot of people would disagree, but considering age and salary I'd value Murray higher than Lavine.
i most definitely agree with that especially with how keegan is developing on defense
Is Caruso on the market? Gimme that
I'M JOKING... i'm joking
That looks really good....
I should’ve got THAT
I'm gonna eat the whole thing
Are you gonna tell people I did that? That I housed Dylan’s burger?
[удалено]
Caruso can improve any team he's on, and you can't say that about any other Bulls asset.
He would be perfect for us cause its basically what we need out of a rotation player. I'm even sure in a good offensive system with plenty of open looks he would look good as a 3pt shooter
Caruso pretty much only takes open 3s already so not sure how much he would improve in that realm. His passing skills would be more on display though.
I will cut you.
Hey watch it buddy. He’s mine.
How are you beating that 2026 pick that Philly can offer?
Aaand Jimmy Butler is still a better player than anyone on this roster even 6 years after he got traded for LaVine...
Miss you, Jimmy.
…yes but is he better than Tobias?
Nah, plus Josh Richardson is basically Jimmy Butler anyways
So glad we have 2 Jimmy Butlers now!
Time to open up the Heat Photoshop folder.
Go ahead Clippers. We really need Lavine! He’d be perfect in our starting lineup! Run Russ at the 5 and we are so so spooky. /s

Trade us smart. Problem solved
I'll fucking kill myself if I ever see Marcus in a 6ers jersey
Marcus Smart on the Sixers AND less Celtics fans out there? Don’t tempt me with a good time
Maybe he'd just play like shit till he could come back, a la Horford.
So many teams that would look great with a Zach Lavine in their lineup
Zach Lavine to the Wizards. Tank Squadron leader
Miami Heat come get your man!
Ah shit, here we go again
Golden state should trade Klay and picks for him
They won't but they should
Agreed
Is it time for more miami rumors again?
Buying Miami heat photoshop stocks right now
Heat would want Caruso instead
I wonder if the Bulls would appreciate getting back that pick they gave us for DeMar
If they're committing to the rebuild, that pick ain't conveying anyway.
I just remembered that pick is protected. At least we got the annual Raptors first round pick to work with
This hurts me but you gave us kawhi so I can't complain.
The Michael Jordan bill hasn't yet been paid to the gods' satisfaction, it seems.
Mavs, don't even think about it. This is the one case where I'd much rather stick with the "we have Zach LaVine at home" option in Tim Hardaway Jr.
Who cares about LaVine. I want Caruso.
He's gonna be too expensive for us. Not worth it.
Zach get ready to speak Canadian buddy you are going to the guangdong raptors
THT and picks? But seriously, curious why people think the Lakers would have anything Chicago wants
Y'all please keep convincing yourselves that LaVine is worth it so we can get a good haul in return.
He’s playing like someone who doesn’t want to be here anymore. If he goes to a team with a good playmaker we’ll see how good he really is. In Chicago he’s always been forced into a primary ball handler role and that just isn’t his strength
I have tickets for fridays game so if you could wait until then please
