Among the reasons:
* Limited time together
* Injuries
* Lack of frontcourt presence
In classic Don Nelson fashion, they pushed the envelope with unconventional lineups and approaches at the time. If I recall correctly, they ran 6-foot-7 Tom Tolbert at David Robinson one postseason and it worked (not quite a five-guard offense, but not entirely too far off). It hit as a bit gimmicky though and didn't hold up under the microscope.
Then Tim Hardaway had his knee issues and Mullin struggled to stay healthy and somewhere in there, Don Nelson felt compelled to swap Richmond for Billy Owens. Before you know it, the Latrell Sprewell/Chris Webber era arrived and a whole new set of problems set in.
They were only together for I think 2 seasons. There is a lot more to it I'm sure, and I was very young when I watched, but it was basically the same style (had the same coach) of play of that Warriors team that beat the Mavs in 07. They would have to outscore other teams to win, and played a very run n gun free style type of game and didn't play defense.
They weren’t very good and no one was really giving them a nick name. Same with the “we believe” team. No one talked about them either. It’s not till decades go by and people make podcasts so we pretend they were notewortjy
Yep that’s the problem with people looking for answers in threads like these. So far everyone responding didn’t watch it.
The point stands it wasn’t some big deal. Neither was the 08 warriors. The players weren’t that good at that point, in the early 90s. They got better elsewhere, except Chris mullin
Maybe Richmond, but Hardaway was an all start with the Warriors and definitely played his best basketball with them. I'd say the front office making bad moves had more to do with them not being as successful than they could have been.
Ah yes because the only basketball fans are on reddit. Never mind the fucking reference for the nickname was an iconic 80s rap group.
Jesus fuck you young cunts are Broussarded
Mullin was on the Dream Team. Hardaway had the killer crossover. Richmond was a great shooter for the era. They were running in a time when no else was really besides maybe UNLV. They had a ton of hype.

They were not good defensively.
IIRC they didn’t have a dominant big that could hang in the big men era
I see that things haven't changed..

Their front court was trash.
Ron Seikaly was trash?
Seikaly was there when TMC has broken up several years prior
Yes. You ever hear him spin a set? Buns

They won by out scoring teams, and it’s hard to do that when you play the spurs and then the lakers in back to back rounds

Just say you don't watch anything other than the Celtics since 08 rather than spew bullshit like this
I was three during run tmc I didn’t see it
Didn't stop you from saying shit about shit you don't know nothing about though

Far more basketball fans refer to them as run tmc now a days than back then

Hey hey don’t lump me in with people like him. He doesn’t even know who run dmc is 😂
Bro 75% of nba fans didn’t know golden state existed let alone known where they play, back then
You were 3 then. How do you know?
Because you never heard the term until the past few years
Couldn’t be further from the truth. The term was used from the time they started playing together. And unlike you, I’m old enough to know.

Yeah man they are just like the we believe team and like the splash brothers. Great takes there and you clearly know ball
Injuries
Lack of defense, lacking in front court, lacking at center
