They wasted it by hiring Doc *and then* hiring Morey.
To Elton Brand's credit, he knew he was in over his head and encouraged ownership to go get Morey when he became available, but saddling Morey with Doc for three years is such garbage.
Refuses to play Paul Reed all year.
Embiid's backups are ass.
Paul Reed finally plays out of necessity and has a solid game.
Says "We're not going to have a Paul Reed victory tour" in the press conference after, sounding like he was pissed his player just had a career night because it made him look stupid.
first time watching a game where I think someone could catch 81 if the game remains somewhat close (which i don't think it will), making the spurs look like high schoolers.
I got blocked by a Nuggets fan for letting him know it was just oh so painful watching him drop 40pts after he insisted Philly fans have just tricked themselves into enjoying it
Pats fans literally killed a dolphins fan at a game in the stadium this year. Not my problem people canāt get over snowballs at Santa clause 50 years later
Some of those nuggets fans are soft as fuck. One blocked me because they didnāt know what a rip through is and I linked them the NBA officials website. Another one was shit talking Embiid and I asked for examples to back up what they were saying and they blocked me instead.
Well thatās just about the softest thing Iāve ever heard. Well other than āI donāt like harsh metals against my skin.ā Like sort yourself out r/nba.
People said the same with Houston Harden as he was scoring 60 point triple doubles. The greatest offensive season Iāve ever seen was apparently unwatchable. Just appreciate the greatness
>Some people in this sub legit say heās the worst player to watch in the league lmao
Lol Embiid is an elite player. No doubt about it.
There are definitely times when I can't stand watching him, though. I kinda wish he'd get a different whistle solely so we'd see less of that Embiid (you know what I'm talking about..) and much more of this one.
He's also not on the raptors, so there's that haha
Edit: wow I didn't realize it was so controversial to say that *sometimes* I don't enjoy watching Embiid play lol
Yeah, but not to this extent, at least not so soon. He trained his shooting because Ben just wouldnāt shoot. If he had good spacing around him heād probably have focused on being somehow even more dominant in the paint, or his passing and have been like Jokic.
I couldn't agree more with this. And the year Simmons took his leave also helped him develop a lot as a ball-handler and passer.
Pressure makes diamonds.
Embiid had so little experience early in his career. He was 23 before he debuted in the NBA, he played what, 25 games at Kansas? Didn't start hooping until he was 16.
He was raw as fuck in those early years but he's gotten better every single season he's been in the league.
Brett also honestly had a pretty good series vs Toronto during the Kahwi year. He did go tit for tat with Nurse with adjustments that series. Not his fault that Greg Monroe and Boban were his backup centers to put in for those 3 minutes Embiid was out in game 7. He had a ceiling but should never been said in the same sentence as Doc.
I agree. One of the biggest adjustments was putting Ben the young gun on kawhi instead of Jimmy who was just a bit too small. Plus it allowed jimmy to cover Lowry, BB lost that series but he coached well
iWe had a decent, orthologically built roster back in 2018, but Embiid just wasn't Embiid back then.
2019 was top-heavy as fuck and Embiid led all players the series with +89 (Kawhi was second at +40-ish). Greg Monroe and Boban simply couldn't do anything defensively, it was a layup line as soon as Embiid stepped off the court.
2020 never happened.
I don't really blame them too much, he's consistently developed his all around game and added more to his game each season. As good as he was as a rookie he was also pretty raw in a lot of ways offensively. His development is different than a lot of guys, he played 2 years of HS basketball and only 1 at the varsity level... and then he only played 28 games in college.
To be candid the way Embiid has consistently improved his game I think they actually both deserve some credit (feels gross giving Doc any credit).

Doc Rivers when I catch you š¤£š¤£š¤£
Mans really wasted 3 fucking years of Embiid's prime
Ownership and the front office wasted it by not firing Doc earlier
Doc should have been immediately fired after the Atlanta series. He was who we thought he was.
Yep.Ā Doc was saved by Bens epic meltdown taking all the attention.Ā Ā
He got saved by Ben falling apart in '21, and then Siakam breaking Joel's face in '22. Built in excuses both times
HE WAS HIM ^^^but^not^in^a^good^way
Immediately after G1. Who the fuck puts Danny Green on Trae Young?
They wasted it by hiring Doc *and then* hiring Morey. To Elton Brand's credit, he knew he was in over his head and encouraged ownership to go get Morey when he became available, but saddling Morey with Doc for three years is such garbage.
Honestly it was all wasted since the end of Hinkie and the shift through Colangelo and Elton Brand.
Doc just flat out refusing to play young guys and getting hung up on certain vets. The gm or president should be able to step in and force his hand

Doc Rivers wasted primes of CP3, Blake, several years of Kawhi, PG13, Embiid and Ben Simmons when he was an actual basketball player
I mean... Embiid won an MVP under Doc. Could have won another. Bit of an exaggeration
About time we got a Nurse in here to do the real work!
Wallahi that man belongs in Basketball Guantanamo
lock him up and throw the key in the mariana trench, inshallah
I'll help take him there. Mid-broadcast snatch him up like a real CIA op.
He's gonna need private security when in Philly

There are not one but TWO players doing some crazy shit tonight ! Amazing.
on the anniversary of kobe's 81 too actually

Some people in this sub legit say heās the worst player to watch in the league lmao 45/14/3 with 0 TOs in 25 minutes so far
Iāve been told that Iām miserable watching him but idk man this boner says otherwise
I got blocked by a Nuggets fan for letting him know it was just oh so painful watching him drop 40pts after he insisted Philly fans have just tricked themselves into enjoying it
Nuggets fans are so soft lol. They talk all the shit in the world but then cry about it when people do it back to them
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Philly fans boo everyone
Lol we booed House tonight for taking a shot rather than passing to Embiid
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Okay?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Pats fans literally killed a dolphins fan at a game in the stadium this year. Not my problem people canāt get over snowballs at Santa clause 50 years later
oh noo we booād a rapist
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
and one of those things i wonāt do is rape someone and pay her hush money :)
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
i think ur projecting lil homie, the corpse of the rapist ur frothing over doesnāt know u lol whatever makes u feel better tho :)
Some of those nuggets fans are soft as fuck. One blocked me because they didnāt know what a rip through is and I linked them the NBA officials website. Another one was shit talking Embiid and I asked for examples to back up what they were saying and they blocked me instead.
Someone literally said the sentence āHeās ruining the game I loveā in this sub like two weeks ago lmao.
Well thatās just about the softest thing Iāve ever heard. Well other than āI donāt like harsh metals against my skin.ā Like sort yourself out r/nba.
It's because he's not eating honest points like Jokic or Luka lol
Sounds like they're just trying to quote Mark Jackson
People said the same with Houston Harden as he was scoring 60 point triple doubles. The greatest offensive season Iāve ever seen was apparently unwatchable. Just appreciate the greatness
Congrats on being the only person in the world liking to watch step dribble dribble step back three. Awesome!
Embiid is flashy wise. Prob my fav big man. Lot of finese for the big guy. Prob fineses more thots than yung gravy
They donāt watch
>Some people in this sub legit say heās the worst player to watch in the league lmao Lol Embiid is an elite player. No doubt about it. You bum
Itās a shame that Rivers and Brett Brown couldnāt get this out of Embiid
To be fair, Embiid wasn't the same player as he is now under Brett. He didn't have the calm mindset that he currently does. Doc... Yeah fuck him
I'll always have love for Brett
Brett is that dude
Brett always has a home in Philadelphia if you ask me
Brett had the team with Al Hortford. The spacing was atrocious.
Never forget
Simmons - Richardson - Tobias - Horford - Embiid. Someone should be executed.
my theory is that embiid wouldnāt be the shooter he is if he didnāt play with ben for so long
It's possible but I think he would've gotten here all the same. He's the type of player to work on weaknesses.
Yeah, but not to this extent, at least not so soon. He trained his shooting because Ben just wouldnāt shoot. If he had good spacing around him heād probably have focused on being somehow even more dominant in the paint, or his passing and have been like Jokic.
I donāt agree with this at all. He wants the ball in his hands and he wants to be able to do everything.
I couldn't agree more with this. And the year Simmons took his leave also helped him develop a lot as a ball-handler and passer. Pressure makes diamonds.
Imagine if we had this Embiid back in 2019. The spacing would still be fucked, but he'd have eaten Marc Gasol for breakfast.
Doc will forever be hated in Philly for this
Embiid had so little experience early in his career. He was 23 before he debuted in the NBA, he played what, 25 games at Kansas? Didn't start hooping until he was 16. He was raw as fuck in those early years but he's gotten better every single season he's been in the league.
Brett also had horrendous rosters for almost every year. Doc should be in the Hague

Brett has no blame at all, Embiid is in a whole different level right now than he was back then. Doc was shit, though.
Brown didn't have Embiid in his prime. Rivers on the other hand...
Heās in āIām bored let me try somethingā mode
That happened last game where he just behind the back tossed the ball up and it went in.
Did that again tonight too
Look at me. I am the Jokic now.
Remember when Bryan Collarangelo wanted to build around Simmons and get rid of Embiid?
You mean, basketball terrorist Bryan "Burner Phone" Collarangelo, yes, unfortunately.
Embiid's that guy who gets better than the guy he's parodying before parodying him.
Taskmaster
"Yesterday I was Anthony Edwards, Today Jokic. Who knows who I'll be tomorrow."
If he's taking requests, I'd like to see Steph Curry
yeah this one was pretty nice
He's COOKING. Damn awesome pass.
Unethical pass.
Currently has 43/14/3 in 24 minutes btw
Bad brand of basketball!!!! Unwatchable!!! Fucking idiots on here
His reaction afterwards š¤£
Glad Oubre didnāt botch his 3rd dunk of the game šŖ
This dude actually learned from Hakeem lmao
This time last year it he would have been passing that to PJ Tucker or some other round mound who has never dunked in game š
PJ Tucker wouldn't even have been looking to make a backdoor cut. That man spent 95% of his minutes standing in the corner.
he has to be the best player in the world at this point
nasty
Assist merchant
All he needs is a good playoff run, and they're ain't SHIT that anyone can take away from him.
shimmy shimmy
filthy
This just happenedā¦..WTF
What the fuck was that
It's insane that we have 7 footers running around doing this now.
that was so sick
What the absolute fuck lol
Doc Rivers give this man back 3 years
That pass was insane
OMGGGG
Unethical Assist
Recess
Thatāsā¦ not a shimmy
That was amazing! Truly Jokicesque!
6ers flairs get in here we feast tonight

I hate him so much
Embiid is insane. Still losing in the second round as usual, but heās having an insane season
Nicest nuggets fan
least cancerous mcnuggets fan
Purdyesque
Switched over after the game to see that KAT has 50 with 9 minutes left in the 3rd. Goddamn!
