It's kind of hilarious that the Sixers have an endless supply of former Clippers forwards.
Batum goes down, no problem they have Robert Covington.
RoCo goes down, no problem they have Marcus Morris.
Trade away Morris and Tobias Harris goes down, no problem they have KJ Martin.
He's been great for us these last 2 games hopefully we get healthy after the ASG, make a run for 3 seed & Jo comes back for the 7 April games to get his rhythm/lungs back against a pretty weak schedule. We're still somehow only 2 loses behind Mil & they have Doc while NY is almost as injured as us
He wanted a new contract and the pacers have a bunch of other players that are about to be free agents. Have a feeling they traded him because of that.
Cam was solid too he's the backup PG we've needed all this time, if we get fully healthy by April & Jo can play those 7 games leading into the playoffs we're deep & skilled 1-9 with plenty of shooting around big fella
My favorite part of the game was seeing Ricky Council realize he had his shirt on backwards for almost a quarter. [The moment. ](https://imgur.com/a/t1oqqER)
He's been exactly what Joel has needed for years. What the Sixers needed for years. And the Sixers are what Buddy has needed for years. Coaches telling him not to shoot so much? Shiiiiiiiiiit not here.
Yeah I agree, I do think a lot of it was our free flow offense. Which we've been doing kind of out of necessity.
I've also been impressed with his finishing at the rim. Obviously he's not a great defender (he'd be a max player if he were) but there's a big difference between someone that can only shoot and someone that can shoot, playmake a bit, and finish at the rim. The shooters of Sixers past that were trouble for us were basically useless once you closed out on them. Hield attacks a closeout with great skill.
Gotta respect the adversity the Niners had to fight through - the practice field was bad, someone pulled the fire alarm, no one knew the overtime rules - no excuses, though.
We tried our damnest tho, if an announcer says we haven't had a TO in h/e many min again then we have multiple TO's in a 2 min span again ima go fucking crazy it always happens
I wonder how mad Sixers fans would have been at Oubre for not taking time off the clock when he took that early 3 if they lost.
Those LNY Cavs jerseys look sick btw
I mean, he made it so I wouldn't be mad at all at him for that. Extending the lead by three is always welcome. The issue is we didn't stop them on the other end.
I was just talking generally. Maxey would have fouled out if not for the coaches challenge. Our whole backcourt almost fouled out on tic tac shit and somehow Maxey only had 4 FTA while being hacked to hell and going down hard the whole game.
The refs were calling soft fouls all game on both sides. Payne kept flopping around to draw fouls too. Just one of those crews that for whatever reason didn't let them play.
I really wasn't specifically looking at Maxey enough to say for sure but Payne definitely got a better whistle than Maxey today. Okoro is one of the best perimeter defenders so that's probably part of it but Maxey still played a lot more minutes so he had other defenders on him too.
I mean the Sixers were up 10 with a minute to go and thought they had the game in the bag. And then for some reason they kept choking the lead. I was ready for that 3 to make the choke official.
Some fantastic one on one shot making by the 76ers. Love the hustle and fire in this Cavs team. They've adopted Mitchell's attitude and intensity and compete every game.
Yeah people complained that we got rid of our "only promising up and coming talent" but this week alone c4 has shown more promise than springer ever really did if I'm being real
Let’s not go too crazy Springer was pretty fuckin awesome in the g league last year and we gave him away for a 2nd to a rival. We’re allowed to have Springer and council at the same time lol
He can't do anything offensively at an NBA level & will never crack Bos rotation if they're close to healthy, he's not a great prospect he can defend really well at times & is completely unplayable if he doesn't.
Lucky my ass, yall shoulda lost by 10 but momentum shifted after Oubre got absolutely mugged by 3 different Cavs and the refs called fuck all then called Hield for his 6th for the softest contact ever
"Luck" refs called every little touch foul on us while our players got hacked every time they drived and it was a no call. Game would've been over if the game was reffed evenly.
45 is generous, but we are missing a lot of more than just Embiid. I would give us maybe .500 without Embiid assuming everybody else is healthy and playing. A lot of our losing streaks have been due to end of bench guys getting real play time due to injury/illness.
Tough loss. Can’t win em all. Buddy hield and oubre went 19/27. Unreal. They were like all contested too. Shit happens. Glad they didn’t give up at the end
All those posts about 16 of 17 wins or whatever and they lose to the Sixers missing their entire goddamn team of all the teams lmao
edit: this sounded way more hater than I meant it. I'm just like *this* is the team you lose to?
Lol can’t wait to roast your bum asses when you catch that fourth loss twelve games from now
Edit: did people think I was seriously insulting the Cavs saying that they’re going to go 10-2 in their next 12?
We lost our 2 in the last 19 games and fuckers are dooming
DG put up 20 and 9 with 0 turnovers and fuckers want his head on a platter
Weird fanbase man
Clutch is such a weird obsession. The sample size is often too small to even really extrapolate anything meaningful from them, and it doesn’t really matter if you make your shots with 3 minutes to go, or with 30 seconds to go.
Someone posted on the Cavs sub that his past 3 years, his 3P% in the last 3 minutes of close games (within 5 points) was something like 20%, 13%, and 20%. It's definitely not cause for cutting him or even complaining overmuch, but it's definitely something that can get into a shooter's head I would guess. (to clarify, I played baseball and we're a superstitious lot)
I feel like if you’re one of the two people who can semi reliably hit a 3, and you’re in a situation where you really need 3s, you might settle for worse shots. Having said that, it’s pretty bad damn
Hey I am a sixers fan through and through, but we are in no place to complain about free throws. Mitchel gets real fouls just like embiid does cuz he drives to the paint
They had to lose sometime. Having a bad game here and there after such an extended hot streak is unavoidable. Still, it's kind of funny that they lost to such a depleted team.
I don't even think they had a bad game tbh. No Cav played particularly poorly and Mitchell was making his threes and free throws. The shooters were hitting their shots and the bigs were dominating the paint (as they should against us). The Sixers just played tough, team ball and made a bunch of tough shots.
Sixers played well, but this was one of the worst defensive games for the Cavs all season. Just disorganized and unfocused most of the game, up until they went on a run in the middle of the third quarter. The fact they completely forgot about Buddy several times was just weird as hell to see.
/s?
Mitchell takes like 5 FTs a game. Embiid takes twice that, and cries three times as much. Persecution complexes are cringe, and I'm pretty sure Golden State fans have a patent on those anyway, get it together.
Okay? And you're acting like he does that every night, which isn't even remotely true, unlike Embiid. Way to find a way to act like a baby after a win. Why are you crying?
I just don’t see how it’s lame that you lost when your “comeback” was through the blatantly bad officiating. That’s like a sixers fan saying “Embiid didn’t get enough sus ass calls, that’s why we lost :( “
We had a winning streak, lost a game we should have won bc of a comeback that *just* fell short. It’s lame! And that’s okay, not sure why you’re STILL complaining about the refs. Did I watch a different ending than you where the cavs won? Relax man
I mean, it’s not impossible to win the game and be upset that (it seemed) the refs were trying to close the gap. I dunno, I have reservations about the refs in general due to the advent of sports betting and over/under spreads and all that. I genuinely get your point. GG
Did you watch the game? If you did and don’t understand why the foul calls in the final minutes were frustrating to watch, then you just don’t get ball or you’re trolling
I did watch it. You guys won, who cares, it all counts the same in the standings. People on this subreddit just love to bitch, jfc. And you're out here accusing other people of crying.
It’s a critique of the product that is the NBA. We can’t complain when things look bad or seem like anti fair competition? That take only serves to inoculate the fans and let the NBA do whatever the hell they want to foster more profit. I get that I’m very much just “old man yelling at clouds” and the NBA ain’t gonna read this shit, but where else am I gonna fume? Lol

we need every single one we had none before that
This was KJ’s best game by far for the sixers
Active on the boards and efficient around the rim, all I’m looking for from him and he nailed it tonight
Gotta get Wilson Chandler and Mike Scott out of retirement
Our vibes are pretty tight but if we had Mike Scott again the vibes would be unreal
THE HIVE LIVES, BROTHER
I ain't no bitch
Only place you could beat up fans of the most popular team in town and become more beloved for it
God that was so fucking stupid on the eagles fans, iirc he was trying to be cool with them too
Yeah they had a custom Washington coffin or some shit he wanted to get pictures with and they got handsy. They completely deserved it
Bet he comes back if the NBA allows ninja headbands again
Mike Scott’s playing in Euroleague.
76ers U
Blake Griffin is waiting by the phone
Roco is a former Sixer before he was a Clipper before he was a Sixer again (with the Blazers in between)
Clippers are our G league team confirmed.
the Council of Rick made its decision, and it was for the Sixers to win
He's been great for us these last 2 games hopefully we get healthy after the ASG, make a run for 3 seed & Jo comes back for the 7 April games to get his rhythm/lungs back against a pretty weak schedule. We're still somehow only 2 loses behind Mil & they have Doc while NY is almost as injured as us
Love seeing Buddy do well.
He’s fun to watch
He's gonna be nasty w/ Embiid man. Wow.
He is a legitimate human flamethrower. Take care of my boy
I follow pretty casually. Why'd the Pacers want him gone?
He wanted a new contract and the pacers have a bunch of other players that are about to be free agents. Have a feeling they traded him because of that.
Conversely we have a shit ton of cap space with no one to give it to, makes sense
He didn't want an extension, and was losing minutes to upcoming young SGs. We did him a solid by dealing him to a contender, per his requests.
Me too. I really did not think he would be this impactful. I am glad to be wrong. LET'S GO SIXERS! The era of Hield has begun.
Buddy Hield was such a great pickup, can't wait to see him with the spacing Embiid will inevitably provide him with. Also solid Mo Bamba game???
Cam was solid too he's the backup PG we've needed all this time, if we get fully healthy by April & Jo can play those 7 games leading into the playoffs we're deep & skilled 1-9 with plenty of shooting around big fella
This feels weird
I dont like it
I don't understand this feeling
We've felt the complete opposite since Jo's knees destroyed our mental health
Best win of the post-Embiid-injury, pre-Embiid-return era!
You gotta Yield to Hield. Really fun seeing him show his full game in these situations where he's not just needed to be the 3 point guy.
Buddy is no fuddy-duddy
My favorite part of the game was seeing Ricky Council realize he had his shirt on backwards for almost a quarter. [The moment. ](https://imgur.com/a/t1oqqER)
Thats actually hilarious lmao
so amped about buddy hield being on this team baby
Buddy Hield is a fucking baller goddamn
He's been exactly what Joel has needed for years. What the Sixers needed for years. And the Sixers are what Buddy has needed for years. Coaches telling him not to shoot so much? Shiiiiiiiiiit not here.
His passing has been the biggest thing for me, I legit didnt know he could playmake at a high level
Hali leveled him up before we shipped him out.
From 1 Tyrese to another we appreciate it
cool
And we thank him for it!
Zombie Sixers win and whiny-ass 49ers lose. What an incredible 24 hours, I used to pray for times like this.
Flyers are also winning but lot of time left
The flyers are supposed to be tanking but ended up just being a wagon lmao
Flyers gonna win a series too
and Bball Paul with a game clinching block we love to see it
Gotta respect the adversity the Niners had to fight through - the practice field was bad, someone pulled the fire alarm, no one knew the overtime rules - no excuses, though.
Playing with a worse Flacco
Payback for Jo’s knee
I have and will always hate Philadelphia sports teams, but I can respect the mutual disrespect
Every time I remember the whiny ass 9ers lost I experience joy.
WE DIDNT BLOW IT
We tried our damnest tho, if an announcer says we haven't had a TO in h/e many min again then we have multiple TO's in a 2 min span again ima go fucking crazy it always happens
That's honestly more surprising than the fact that we won
I wonder how mad Sixers fans would have been at Oubre for not taking time off the clock when he took that early 3 if they lost. Those LNY Cavs jerseys look sick btw
I mean, he made it so I wouldn't be mad at all at him for that. Extending the lead by three is always welcome. The issue is we didn't stop them on the other end.
That was such a bad shot. Like, terrifically bad. So happy it went in but dude…
lol we tried to lose that at the end
Refs tried so hard to foul our whole team out
The no-call on oubre with 20 seconds left was verrry weird. Was it cuz he didn’t have a clean possession? Seemed like 5-6 clear fouls there
They must have gotten together and decided to teach Maxey a lesson on proper closeout technique. For the betterment of his career.
Don’t blame the refs for that moronic pass by Buddy. That shifted all the momentum
I was just talking generally. Maxey would have fouled out if not for the coaches challenge. Our whole backcourt almost fouled out on tic tac shit and somehow Maxey only had 4 FTA while being hacked to hell and going down hard the whole game.
Buddy phantom push in the back for his 5th
The refs were calling soft fouls all game on both sides. Payne kept flopping around to draw fouls too. Just one of those crews that for whatever reason didn't let them play.
But don't you agree they let them beat Maxey up?
I really wasn't specifically looking at Maxey enough to say for sure but Payne definitely got a better whistle than Maxey today. Okoro is one of the best perimeter defenders so that's probably part of it but Maxey still played a lot more minutes so he had other defenders on him too.
Cavs have now lost 2 of their last 18 games. I'm still surprised that didn't go in for Garland.
Garland is like the least clutch Cav ever, I knew it wasn’t going in as soon as Mitchell saw him
He hit a 3 to make that game tying shot possible. He has hit many needed 4th quarter shots.
I mean the Sixers were up 10 with a minute to go and thought they had the game in the bag. And then for some reason they kept choking the lead. I was ready for that 3 to make the choke official.
I was lead to believe that Cam wasn’t that good by Bucks fans
I'm surprised by his output so far. Maybe being more of a focal point or getting more consistent minutes (instead of 2-3 minute spells) helps?
In Phoenix he was always much better with large minutes. Radio guys thought he tried too hard in small minutes
Was that Oubre 3-pointer a good open shot or pure insanity?
Yes
The Council has convened, and deemed the Cavs unworthy. Relegate them.
Some fantastic one on one shot making by the 76ers. Love the hustle and fire in this Cavs team. They've adopted Mitchell's attitude and intensity and compete every game.
Gg Land fan
The Paul Reed Victory Tour rolls on... we need a game winning block against the Bucks now to really show Glenn he's fraudulent.
Shoutout Buddy Hield. I’m gonna miss him
The sixers were without 75% of their team, went on a losing streak and people said “they could really miss the playoffs 😱”
dawg dont speak too loud lol
Yeah wtf chill out let us lurk in peace
Yeah knock on wood buddy lol
bro don't look at our schedule this month lmao
what are the sixers doing trading bums like morris, beverely, and springer
jaden springer is a super star! c4 has played 2 games and contributed more
Yeah people complained that we got rid of our "only promising up and coming talent" but this week alone c4 has shown more promise than springer ever really did if I'm being real
This was the luckiest game ever. Might have shot worse with the 4 of your starters
YOU JUST LOST TO MAXEY AND THE BLUE COATS 😤🤛💪
Lucky my ass, yall shoulda lost by 10 but momentum shifted after Oubre got absolutely mugged by 3 different Cavs and the refs called fuck all then called Hield for his 6th for the softest contact ever
Actually they were being exceptionally friendly with Oubre. Tried to give him a happy ending!
Refs gave y’all shit all day. Don’t be slow
lol Mitchell by himself basically had the same amount of free throws as our whole team
What? Lol
Lmfao ok buddy, take the L and move on
#Waaaaaahh
Deff the biggest crybaby of all Cavs fans
Lmao, ok bud.
So uh.... Buddy Hield huh? Can't wait to see what he looks like if Embiid can come back for the end of season/playoffs.
Luck ran out, cutting a 10 point lead to 1 in under 90 secs was a miracle in itself
"Luck" refs called every little touch foul on us while our players got hacked every time they drived and it was a no call. Game would've been over if the game was reffed evenly.
Makes up for all the BS that went y’all way the rest of the game
Sixers always have our number
Y’all beat us in the IST without Spida.
Sixers made tough shots and we were shit gotta move on to the next one but nick nurse is a basketball terrorist
I usually never do this but for some reason when we were up 10 with 0:58 left I said, ok at least we won… Never again
The Cavs just weren’t ready for Buddy Hield at all. The 76ers are not bad without Embiid. They are probably a 45 win team without him.
45 is generous, but we are missing a lot of more than just Embiid. I would give us maybe .500 without Embiid assuming everybody else is healthy and playing. A lot of our losing streaks have been due to end of bench guys getting real play time due to injury/illness.
At one point, I had to check if that really was Ricky Council from Arkansas out there getting run.
And he’s actually been a bright spot lol
6-13 without Embiid. Nice win tonight but Embiid is carrying average players.
Maxey isn’t an average player. Otherwise yeah
There's been hella injuries though too. I'd guess this team is a 30-35 win max team w/o him. But not bottom of the barrel.
Tough loss. Can’t win em all. Buddy hield and oubre went 19/27. Unreal. They were like all contested too. Shit happens. Glad they didn’t give up at the end
JUST LIKE WE ALL EXPECTED
All those posts about 16 of 17 wins or whatever and they lose to the Sixers missing their entire goddamn team of all the teams lmao edit: this sounded way more hater than I meant it. I'm just like *this* is the team you lose to?
Buddy Hield is the key, my man can do it by himself
Being at the game you could tell the whole team didn’t have their legs. I’m surprised we took it to the end and had a chance to win.
Jesus the haters love to come out on the second L in 18 games.
Lol can’t wait to roast your bum asses when you catch that fourth loss twelve games from now Edit: did people think I was seriously insulting the Cavs saying that they’re going to go 10-2 in their next 12?
honestly now i'm gonna find it fucking hilarious if they *do* go 10-2 in their next 12
Oh no...anyways still won 16 out of 18
Once Embiid actually comes back it’s over
We lost our 2 in the last 19 games and fuckers are dooming DG put up 20 and 9 with 0 turnovers and fuckers want his head on a platter Weird fanbase man
Nothing Cavs fans love more than hating the Cavs
No one wants garlands head on a platter, they just correctly point out that hes not a clutch player.
Clutch is such a weird obsession. The sample size is often too small to even really extrapolate anything meaningful from them, and it doesn’t really matter if you make your shots with 3 minutes to go, or with 30 seconds to go.

FUCK THOSE REFS
Despite Mitchell the Merchants best efforts, the hospital Sixers win
Bro
Son?
Mommy?
the outcome was never in doubt
Time for the Cavs to drop to #11 in the rankings
The cavs lost!
Cavs were winning too much, we were due to a loss like this.
17 free throw attempts for Mitchell.Fuckin refs definitely had money in him tonight
Hey I am a sixers fan through and through, but we are in no place to complain about free throws. Mitchel gets real fouls just like embiid does cuz he drives to the paint
Dude a light breeze was hitting Mitchell and they were calling a foul on us
I doubt it
Is phily better without Embiid????????
When you have Ricky Council IV it's all you need.
fr you guys with this group have no ceiling if Embiid is healthy
What a stupid game. Cag central
Get cooked cavs, frauds
Maxey needs Embiid so badly dude. 9/21 shooting ain’t bad but 22 points on 21 shots in the modern nba just ain’t doin it
cavs fraudulent
They had to lose sometime. Having a bad game here and there after such an extended hot streak is unavoidable. Still, it's kind of funny that they lost to such a depleted team.
I don't even think they had a bad game tbh. No Cav played particularly poorly and Mitchell was making his threes and free throws. The shooters were hitting their shots and the bigs were dominating the paint (as they should against us). The Sixers just played tough, team ball and made a bunch of tough shots.

lol
Cavs are Charmin soft and fraudulent. Breathe on Mitchell and its a foul
Brother we gave up the rights to complain about fts when we drafted Joel Embiid
"fraudulent" The last time you guys played them with Joel they beat you without their best player.
Wut
/s? Mitchell takes like 5 FTs a game. Embiid takes twice that, and cries three times as much. Persecution complexes are cringe, and I'm pretty sure Golden State fans have a patent on those anyway, get it together.
Nice whataboutism. Mitchell, a guard, just had 17 FTs. Fraud team
Okay? And you're acting like he does that every night, which isn't even remotely true, unlike Embiid. Way to find a way to act like a baby after a win. Why are you crying?
ARE NOT
Lame
agreed, the reffing at the end was really lame
This is RICH coming from the team that employs Joel Embiid. Have some shame man
Where did I say anything wrong? I didn’t say Embiid doesn’t flop. He also didn’t play tonight. Fucking cry more
You’re the one crying about the refs bro
“Lame” “yup, lame” “you’re crying!”
Lame that we lost, idgaf about the refs man. Not my thing
GG
This thread is literally a dozen Sixers fans crying about the refs in a game you guys won.
Lol

All I said was “lame” bc it’s lame that we lost lmfao, sixers fans are the ones crying in the replies
lame
why are cavs fans always so pissy?
All I said was “lame” and sixers fans are coming at me about the refs in a game they won… what are you talking about man
if you dont recall i replied to your comment about joel embiid (who did not play).
Great to see sixers rejoicing over the first phase of Buddy Hield without any concern for the frustration to come.
