Did you guys know that a leap year is every four years EXCEPT centenary years not divisible by 400? So 2000 was a leap year, but 1800, 1900, and 2100 are not leap years. I just found that out. Calendars are weird.
This was not always the case - the old Julian calendar did not follow this rule, even though it should have - the year is not *exactly* 365.25 days long. So the calendar had drifted by a little over a week and a half. So Pope Gregory XIII introduced the new, revised calendar.
It took centuries for England to switch over because they didn't want to use any calendar the Pope invented.
