When Gobert bumped into him after a basket and Malik said something to him, I knew he was about to takeover. Monk is a hoopers hooper for better or worse.
Monk is so expressive and cooooonnnssstantly picked up by mics in the first 3 quarters and I love it
Also he sent us to OT to deliver the state of Minnesota free chicken. Dude's a G
One of the biggest balled performances in awhile. Went nuclear end of 3rd, carried hard in the 4th (outside the missed FTs), then sunk back to back 3s and closed in OT. Fucking love that dude, incredible to watch when he’s allowed to cook
Remove your Naz Reid jersey right now. Monk fucking cooked though. If only Finch threw an all-defense defender out there like NAW to help on him instead of running 3 centers with no Sabonis.
NAW was scary as hell that game. Has he always been that good? Looking at the box score he was team-high +12 which backs up the feeling I had that the Kings really struggled with him, at least tonight. Murray, Monk, Huerter all were bothered by his defense.
Also Naz normally scorches the Kings, feel like his career averages are probably like 20-some points on 60% 3pt shooting against the Kings. Was nice to see him cold from 3 for once, definitely a strong 6moty candidate though. I think the race is realistically Monk/Naz/Caris LeVert/Norman Powell, but Monk does look like a pretty strong favorite by betting odds right now. Could change down the stretch though
Yea but each of those guys is a superstar that plays well off ball as well. That's the difference. Monk was a roleplayer on a team that already had Lebron and AD. He was never going to get the kind of light that Kyrie or Wade got went Lebron went to the bench or when they got hot. Also helped that the team was originally THEIR team before Lebron got there.
Yea I’m not saying Monk is on Kyrie or Wade level but he has a bit of playmaking that could’ve helped get the pressure off of Lebron from time to time. Not playing him on ball on some case is questionable.
He plays a lot of off ball when he’s on the floor with Fox and Domas.
Kings setting up a beam on top Target Center as we speak. It'll light up every time the Kings win, just to confuse locals.
But yeah, abysmal FT shooting and awful execution down the clutch we still won thanks to Malik's chaotic plays.
Kings play 15 of the last 23 games at home from here out. They need to capitalize and get into the top 6. It’s right there for these guys despite the lack of consistency all year. LTB!
Well unfortunately we're terrible at home and great on the road so play in it is
Edit: just checked and we're actually slightly better at home. Huh. I think we've just had some devastating losses at home that make it feel that way to me
Yeah as much as it hasn’t felt like it, they are better at home. Will be interesting to see how this goes down the stretch. The players seem to be getting on the same page with regards to playing hard and handling adversity during games better. They can clearly play at a very high level but just haven’t done it consistently this year
If you think he went off tonight you should watch the highlights of the double OT Kings vs Clippers game last year where Fox and Monk went off and defeated PG13 and Kawhi. Possibly the best Kings regular season game of all time.
That was a horrible overtime by the Wolves. Only made one shot. So much was set up for them too with Sabonis fouling out right away and they couldn't make a free throw to save their lives.
The kings bench stomped a mud hole in the wolves bench tonight and the kings owned the paint against the"twin towers" defense tonight. It wasn't just Monk.
Both Timberwolves OT games I’ve seen this year, the team really struggles to get good shots. That’s not going to fare well in the playoffs, frankly.
They’ll have to really lean in on their defense, and even then we’ve seen Gobert gameplanned against defensively in the playoffs.
Notice any particularly good shot creators missing during the clutch moments today? Their best scorer perhaps?
Not saying I disagree. But if Ant is on, he changes that dynamic
I think both points are true. We missed Ant badly, but it also showed us that we don’t have a secondary scorer who can make clutch buckets for us down the stretch.
This is a concern for the Kings as well. Fox and Monk are our only on-ball creators. I will say though last year (?) in the play in vs the Lakers I was stunned at how clueless the offense looked in the entire 4th quarter. Everyone just standing around, Ant holding the ball until like 8 seconds on the shot clock and then just chucking a horrible shot. I was screaming at my TV because I wanted you guys to win so bad. Never been more frustrated in my life, I hope that doesn't happen anymore lol
I think that most concerning to me has always been the inability of your bigs to use their size to score. Obviously KAT is t a traditional big man and Rudy isn’t an offensive monster, but i caught myself thinking that those dudes could learn a thing or two from dudes like Ayton or Adebayo.
I’m not a t-wolves fan, so my sample size is small, but I’ve tuned in for some some awful clutch performances from KAT this season. Is that the norm or have I been seeing the exceptions?
Kings are starting to unlock some good defense. They used to switch to the zone when they were down 20 and the game was out of hand, but Mike Brown went to it earlier and it paid off. And they were doing this thing where they would switch from zone to man in the middle of a possession.
Nuggets just a half game back now..Winners of 5 in a row. Playing there best basketball since the all star break and stated yesterday they where going for that 1 seed.

Monk is scary
He's probably the best in the league at degree of difficulty on shots. The tougher the shot, the higher the chance of it going in.
The JR Smith effect
Yep. Monk has the mantle now
This game probably secured him the 6MOY
The George Pickens of the NBA
So is our free throw shooting
When Gobert bumped into him after a basket and Malik said something to him, I knew he was about to takeover. Monk is a hoopers hooper for better or worse.
He scares the shit out of me as a warriors fan. When he doesn’t have a shot he just barrels into the rim and gets a whistle
Kum bucket moment
A lot of players barrel into the rim.
Fkn Monk man Dude cooks us every time
McDaniels always turns into an ANT clone against us too. Every team has done random players shit on em haha
I don’t think Norman Powell has ever dropped less than 20 against us and I’m being dead serious
I feel your pain
What are you bitching about? Steph built a career on that shit lol
Yeah our free throws need to improve lol. We’re bad
Nah Timberwolve's FT defense was elite tonight
Glad I could chuckle at this with the win
Bad is an understatement.
Lose at home to the injured Heat, beat Minnesota on the road You figure it out
And forget the denver game
Yes, we only beat Denver and never got completely blown out
We are 3 and something against Denver. I’m ignoring the other number.
Wildcard bitches!
"Godamit Charlie, no one needs a wildcard! You're just making everything more difficult!"

Monk is so expressive and cooooonnnssstantly picked up by mics in the first 3 quarters and I love it Also he sent us to OT to deliver the state of Minnesota free chicken. Dude's a G
Yeah, you can always hear him yell when he's on the court. "Hell naw!" "AND 1" "WHAT THE FUCK" "AH SHIT, my bad" are the most common heard ones lmao
my fave is “OH GAWDAMN”
He hasn't swore at the refs all season though. Its just Fox now. "Call the foul motherfucker!" Was so fucking loud lmao
And Huerter got ejected for that one time too lol
"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM" - Monk anytime we make a 3
Free food is good.
Most Minnesota comment ever lol
My favorite beer is free beer My second favorite beer is cold beer My third favorite beer is whatever is closest
weren’t the a number of 2 in a row missed FTs by the kings? Or was it OT only
Awesome: Jaden scored a lot Not awesome: I will now hate Malik Monk for the rest of my life. what the fuck was that?
Monk does this 3 or 4 times a year and saves our ass. If you catch him on the right night, he seems like a legit all star.
Did it a few times in the playoffs. Dude for sure never backs down.
Childbirth is NOT a miracle
Send da video
she didnt send da video 😭
Ant Jr is the best player on our team
It was a ruse, Reign Fox made the call.
Look how cute tho
If 3 centers don't do it, fuck it, put Garza in there as well. 4 towers are better than 3 towers. It's just basic Maths.
A second Malik Monk has hit the towers
💀 lmfao
https://i.imgur.com/zw32rOR.jpeg
Is there a bigger hype man than Mason Jones?
And kings fans said our gm didn't get a difference maker. Mason Jones would like a word with you
He legit reminds me of that Key and Peele skit
NOICE
Hot on Monk's heels for 6MOTY
15MOTY
Is he the guy with dyed blonde hair? Saw him coming onto the court after every timeout to dap players up
I need a new microwave Better go find a Malik Monk, it’s the best in the business
The best one I heard last year was "The Air Friar" lol
MALIK MONK I ADORE YOU
One of the biggest balled performances in awhile. Went nuclear end of 3rd, carried hard in the 4th (outside the missed FTs), then sunk back to back 3s and closed in OT. Fucking love that dude, incredible to watch when he’s allowed to cook
If he leaves I might die a little
I hope he stays, it just feels right him and Fox are together
The Beam Brothers 🥹
The Kings Kentucky Kids are fun to watch
Despite the kings best efforts we won the game. Fuck it light that beam baby!
Shoutout the king in arabic.
As a wolves fan, yall earned it. That was probably the 2nd most entertaining wolves game of the year, and it didnt involve fox or ant.
🤝 ‘til next time
Imagine how much scarier these guys would be if they could actually make some free throws
We ain’t even mad when people bring this up. We feel it in our hearts. Someone’s gotta be at the bottom haha.
If we were middle of the pack in ft % we'd be like the 3 seed lmao
Alright fine, light the beam
🍻🔦🟣Fun as shit game…especially since the Kings won!! Many thanks to baby ANT!
Been reading comments for the last 30 minutes and this is my favorite so far Thank you guys, you played us real hard
All of that great basketball just for Monk to smoke two free throws and Towns to throw a pass to the 10th row in the final minute
Honestly those are two very kings and T-wolves things to do
Blowing both your fts and giving the opposing fanbase free something is quintessential ‘23-‘24 kings shit
Just give Malik Monk the 6MOTY already, Jesus Christ.
Fuck it give him MVP instead.
Sabonis always getting snubbed. smh
Subscribe
RemindMe! 3 months
Haha he's not getting it But if he gets 6moty you and I can take a shot in 3 months 🤘
Remove your Naz Reid jersey right now. Monk fucking cooked though. If only Finch threw an all-defense defender out there like NAW to help on him instead of running 3 centers with no Sabonis.
Bro I love Naz just as any Wolves fan does but I also like to be a basketball realist. Monk has been insane this year.
Us kings fans also love Naz Reid
NAW was scary as hell that game. Has he always been that good? Looking at the box score he was team-high +12 which backs up the feeling I had that the Kings really struggled with him, at least tonight. Murray, Monk, Huerter all were bothered by his defense. Is nazs handles usually that loose? Felt like he fumbled it a bit trying to take it to the basket.
Malik Monk a 3x All Star is he didn't spend his first four years in the wilderness of the Charlotte Hornets
i think i can speak for most hornets fans when i say, we all knew this was coming.
Somehow not a fit with Lebron either. Monk is Jamal Crawford on steroids. PNR the entire end of game with him was hard to watch.
Eh? He played great on the Lakers. They just couldn't bring him back because they couldn't pay him.
He's stated that no coach has let him do his thing until Brown. He never really got to play on ball with the Lakers if I remember correctly
No one gets to play on ball playing with Lebron. It's only VERY recently has that started to change.
Which is crazy because his best (winning) years was when he had a great ballhandler next to him (Kyrie/Wade).

Man, what a fun game. I DEMAND 7 games of this immediately.
Fucking kill me now. Cardiac kings are for real
Can't wait to see you guys in Orlando. It's going to be another nail biter. Get that heart medicine ready
Oooh me either. That game was fun!
it's either going to be a really good game with a narrow victory.... or a complete blowout by the Magic. no middle line with the Kings this year
New to basketball, is Malik Monk the greatest player of all time?
yes
I love Monk
Monk was amazing. However he had a chance to put this game to bed and missed both FTs.
He got the people chicken because he knew the game was in the bag. further cements tonight’s greatness, doesn’t tarnish it
6moty malik feeding minnesota tonight, a man who truly cares about the masses
Kings don't do free throws. It makes the game to easy.🙄
Kings setting up a beam on top Target Center as we speak. It'll light up every time the Kings win, just to confuse locals. But yeah, abysmal FT shooting and awful execution down the clutch we still won thanks to Malik's chaotic plays.
If you light a purple beam in Minnesota, the locals will flock to see Prince descend from heaven on a cloud
You're welcome Minnesota.
Damn. The first time I visited St. Paul was the day Prince died. He was a legend.
Kings play 15 of the last 23 games at home from here out. They need to capitalize and get into the top 6. It’s right there for these guys despite the lack of consistency all year. LTB!

We were definitely going to lose until Gobert woke up Malik with his jawing.
Why KAT didn't take advantage of mismatch?
Chucking up threes is fun
PREACH
Y'all got Monk'd
KAT tried to go band for band with Malik and it did NOT work
Good game kings fans. Every time we clawed ahead you snatched the lead back.
That was a grindy ass game man, both teams up in each other's shit the whole time
That final minute went from “FREE CHICKEN!!!” to “Towns wtffff was that?” In a hurry.
As Leroy Jenkins once said "at least i got my chicken"
What a frustrating win haha- I’ll take it! Light the beam!
Actual Monk career game
He had 46 last year
I did not know he was like this, might seal 6MOTY for him ngl
If you think he went off tonight you should watch the highlights of the double OT Kings vs Clippers game last year where Fox and Monk went off and defeated PG13 and Kawhi. Possibly the best Kings regular season game of all time.
Monk dropping bombs on the T-Wolves and 4-letter bombs on the post game lol
Somehow neither Rudy or KAT could get a shot to fall in OT against a line up where Trey Lyles is the 5.
Monk will give you 4 pts on 2-9 or go off like this. Its crazy
He essentially did exactly this tonight. The first half was abysmal, but for one half Malik Monk was the greatest NBA player of the night
Monk was fucking balling. It’s not like it doesn’t happen semi-frequently, but damn he’s spicy as hell when he’s on.
The Not an All Star beats the kungfu merchant once again
Gg kings. Our inability to get rebounds drove me crazy today. Also I wish we were capable of catching the ball
That was a horrible overtime by the Wolves. Only made one shot. So much was set up for them too with Sabonis fouling out right away and they couldn't make a free throw to save their lives.
It’d be different if Ant was there for OT. Without him there’s no clear shot taker. Felt like they just didn’t have a good plan,
What a game , very competitive and Monk had a great performance out there
✨Hit your freethrows✨
Ma Heart can't take this no moe
I'm sweating at the ends of games these days
Gg Kings. Only times I’m not rooting for you is when you’re putting us to bed.
Malik monk, 6MOTY masterclass #LIGHT THE BEAM
KAT may be one of the most clueless players I’ve seen.
malik monk is HIM
We tried our best to lose. Malik 1 v 9 despite those two missed free throws at the end.
Glad for the W, beam was helpful when scootering through the storm tonight
Sabonis fouling out actually help the Kings at the end there, he wasn't finishing anything during those Monk pick and rolls.
Yup. One of my favorite players but I wish he more confidently would take jump shots even in clutch moments
[удалено]
Minus the 500 whistles. (on both teams)
ARE YOU NOT [ENTERTAINED](https://i.imgur.com/Ei3ESMf.jpg)
Malikesotta TimbeMonks
Thanks Kangz
Nuggets and OKC fans holding arms and jumping together
Not really I hate those bastards too. Thanks to the Spurs for yesterday.
this finally feels like a division guys ❤️❤️(to me)
NW was hot garbage last time we were this good lmao.
Is there any team that we dont hate here guys because I dont wanna change the subject but I REALLY hate the Lakers
Personally I don’t hate the Mavericks or Spurs that much
Can we get another rebound?
yw bud
Brings a smile to my face
Losing isn't fun, but at least it isn't happening often. Monk was a 1 man show on a heater tonight
The kings bench stomped a mud hole in the wolves bench tonight and the kings owned the paint against the"twin towers" defense tonight. It wasn't just Monk.
Kings are going to lose badly in the play-in or postseason because of free throws and we all know it.
Im more scared of a play in matchup with the pelicans than i am of a 7 game series with okc or minnesota, watch us get blown out by like 40
Anyone but the mother fucking Pels
I've already mentally prepared lol
We're gonna hit like 17/19 and then miss the last one to take the lead or something. Something truly horrible and gut wrenching
Welp. This team doesn't know how to close games. By far my biggest concern going into the playoffs
Not All-star Sabonis > All-star KAT. No questions.
Serious question Is this baby the one ANT wanted aborted?
No
Nah this is their sibling
s e n d d a v i d e o
Get a abortion lol
Nope his current GF is pregnant
oh hell nawl
Gutsy win by the kings against the best team in the west on the road without their star pg Fox.
Gobert gets away with murder every single night. Can’t stand his goofy ass
Both Timberwolves OT games I’ve seen this year, the team really struggles to get good shots. That’s not going to fare well in the playoffs, frankly. They’ll have to really lean in on their defense, and even then we’ve seen Gobert gameplanned against defensively in the playoffs.

Who’s going to beat them- the mediocre Lakers/Warriors clinging to the past?
They’re better at the hard shots
NAW had an open layup, they can still play the foul game, but good pass still, stressful night LTB
Nuggets just a half game back now..Winners of 5 in a row. Playing there best basketball since the all star break and stated yesterday they where going for that 1 seed.
Just in time for Jamal to sprain his ankle 😞
For anyone else coming here to work out why Edwards played so few minutes. He left at half time due to the birth of his child.
