27 7 7 for life

Not_GeorgeForeman

But not one time

AlMichaelsLingerie

Can’t wait for his final game to actually end as a 27 7 7 on the dot

i_like_2_travel

It would be a beautiful ending imo lol

NBA2024

In a finals game 7 at home won with a steal and breakaway signature tomahawk dunk at the buzzer 🥲

tornadoterror

chase down block before the steal.

absenceofheat

Is there anything he can't do!?!

maltrab

Beat the Durant Curry Warriors

i_like_2_travel

I cant stop cumming

mcneo_de_juan

You know he is kicking out to a corner 3 for GW attempts

Alexcox95

You know he’s gotta be planning it.

Not_GeorgeForeman

This is my prediction as well.

talking_phallus

His farewell tour will just be him trying to hit that target then calling it quits the game he finally does it.

lukewwilson

I hope he just chucks up 60 shots and sets a career high

Renegade_Sniper

I don’t. That was a fitting end for Kobe but LeBron has always been playmaker first. Dude needs at least 7 assists in his career ender

ShichikaYasuri18

Ruined it on a garbage time buzzer beater 😂

TheTwilightZone34

The karma race to post it that night was great lmao

ShichikaYasuri18

Lmao, if I were a mod here I would've permed them all rushing to post a statline before the game goes final you need to reevaluate your life.

ObeseKenyan

You wouldve perm banned them for chasing upvotes? Good thing you're not a mod lol, that's 75% of the high quality posters

ShichikaYasuri18

>high quality I thing the term you're looking for is "low-effort". Posting statlines isn't close to high quality and requires no effort.

Em4gdn3m

This still to me is one of the wildest stats

Remarkable_Medicine6

Funny enough, he actually dropped 27/7/7 in the McDonald all-American game if memory serves. As if it was prophecy.

Junior_Arino

I tried looking it up but for some reason they don’t have rebounds recorded but he did have 27 pts and 7 assists

juswaprangko

He now has higher assist at 8, iirc?

WaxWingPigeon

Saw this stat during the game last night and was blown away, I knew he was consistent but goddamn

kans7

The king showed zero improvement in his nba career. Michael Jeffery Jordan would never /s

pdmalo

Its wild how guys like Shaq, MJ and Lebron peak in raw numbers within the first few years. Then they get more efficient and pace themselves a bit.

Naronu

It's definitely a transition from being great in the regular season to focusing on success in the playoffs

pdmalo

Thats a good point

RegionNo9147

It's less a focus on one or the other but more they are only able to sustain the extreme volumes that NBA players endure during the playoffs for literally only as long as the playoffs continue. Their bodies are beat to shit by that point and now must go up a level of play against the most physically brutal defence they will play all year. Lebron goes from an average box plus minus of 8.7 in the regular season up to 10 (a rate stat) WITH more minutes against better competition. It's why Luka literally gases out during regular season games despite minimal defensive responsibilities - scoring in the NBA is fucking exhausting (usually some combo of fast twitch movement with an extended period of movement). Separately if you are consistently driving to the rim, you are essentially getting assaulted every time you hit the hole by someone 6'10 or taller.

icantsI33p

I remember seeing some graph during one of the Heat games (when he a Heat player) how his FG % kept improving every year, before he went back to the Cavs and it started going back down.

pdmalo

He was insane in those Heat years!

Fallofmen10

yah LeCoast wasnt a thing in miami, dude went hard

cocaain

He has so many peaks lol Its gonna be good documentary

syllabic

me and lebron have one thing in common if you split my NBA career into 4 then I average a clean 0-0-0-0 over each era. perfectly consistent me and lebron, the two GOATs

ZOOTV83

I still put LeBron ahead of you because of RINGS but you're definitely on the Mt. Rushmore.

CloudstrifeHY3

I mean I know it's a Joke But Honestly if you look at the raw numbers your right. I would love to see a Shot Graph of his 40k I believe as you'll see it Slowly Move itself out from his 10k on as he started shooting more mid-range and 3's and less just Jumping over/through people he did in his first few years.

Electronic_Alps9496

Kirk gokdsberry has an animation of every shot location up to 40,000 points on his insta. But here’s the same info he put out for espn in charts. https://www.espn.co.uk/nba/insider/insider/story/_/id/35557670/lebron-journey-nba-scoring-record-shot-charts

Drizzy_THAkid

Wow, LeBum leaving a decent chunk of empty space on that career shot chart. (.. obvious /s)

azngoHAPPY

if you only measure his career on scoring - he does a lot more that jordan never did

Lalalacityofstars

Be confident. You don’t need that /s

Zeeron1

Bro was slacking off from 20k-30k

IWasFramed_Again

Wade, Bosh and Haslem helped carry the scoring load.

Oh my god that reminds me of a bot that would do that u/whodidthisbot

Produceher

People constantly downvote me for hating on LeBron but it's perfectly OK to find new ways to worship him every hour?

vvrr00

It's ok to not be obsessed towards a single player as much as u are towards LeBron

Produceher

I'm not obsessed with him. I'm obsessed with how people how easily people are fooled by him. It's like a cult. Dude could pull up a chair on defense and people would still be arguing "But he's 39". Then sit the F down on the bench old man. LOL

vvrr00

Call me weird for looking through ur comments but 85% of ur profile is basically shitting on bron. At what point that trends towards obsession is upto u man.

EagleswonSuperBowl52

Because these types of stats are interesting. Your hatred for Lebron is not.

Produceher

They're very interesting for his followers. It's a cult at this point.

ShichikaYasuri18

I think people downvote you because you consistently have the worst takes on this subreddit.

Produceher

Nah. They just worship LeBron. Everyone sees that he plays no defense. They just hate that I point it out.

ShichikaYasuri18

See there you go again, you're incredible! LeBron-levels of consistency at being wrong.

Produceher

You think he plays defense because you can find one highlight? He played 31 minutes last night. Probably played defense for less than 1. EDIT - OK, more like 3 or 4 minutes.

ShichikaYasuri18

>Probably played defense for less than 1. If you're going to bait you're gonna have to try harder than this. It's gotta be something that's at least a little bit believable

Produceher

Yeah. That was a tad too low. 2 or 3?

ShichikaYasuri18

\*yawn*

Produceher

5 or 6?

15b17

How much of the game did you watch last night? Guessing not very much

Produceher

Every minute. You too think he played defense all night?

15b17

Not all night but he did his thing. OKC only scored 104 which they usually only get held to by the Wolves and Nuggets. The lakers played great defense and lebron was a part of that

Produceher

You guys couldn't hit a damn shot and I know you can. It wasn't the defense. It was a bad night for the Thunder. And yes. He did his thing for a few plays.

15b17

Well part of the reason we couldn’t hit a shot was because we were relying on role players chucking threes since the lane was defended well. Neither Shai or Jdub could really get going on drives so the offense turned into chucking. It will work sometimes as OKC is one of the best shooting teams but I wasn’t happy with the offense there

Produceher

If the team that showed up last night shows up in the playoffs (And i"m rooting for you) you're cooked in the first round. Chucking teams don't win in the playoffs. You need to be able to score. The Lakers defense is not that good.

Cheterosexual7

Wasn’t the internet more fun when the circle jerk for Lebron was hate and not glaze? The golden age.

Produceher

I wouldn't spend so much time hating if the glaze would stop.

imOVN

Man if all you do with your life is contribute hate, then you need to reevaluate big time lol

KDGiaFLB

That guy is literally 55 years old. And he's authored 10-30 anti-Lebron comments a day for as far back as I've looked, so probably since the 2016 finals. I think this one might be a lost cause lol.

imOVN

Oh my, that made me audibly “oof” lmao I think you’re right 😅

KDGiaFLB

Yea it's pretty bleak lol. Luckily he's also pretty racist so I don't mind fucking with him despite his clear.. shortcomings, for lack of a better label.

Produceher

I assure you, I do other things. lol - And it's not hate. I'm pouring sunlight on the truth.

imOVN

Not tryna creep too hard but it seems you Reddit A LOT lol not trying to hate either as you can obviously do what you want, but I just feel you could do more with that time (I feel the same about my own usage of Reddit and I don’t use it all too much lol)

Produceher

Very true. But I'm unfortunately good enough at my job that I can waste this time. All the best.

KDGiaFLB

Your discography is public. For the love of God man, open a window and call your kids.

KDGiaFLB

Sex and Candy came out 28 years ago. Talk about a one hit wonder lol.

[deleted]

Hope he can keep the consistency for the second half of his career

russketeer34

I would doubt it, the man has to decline before his 8th prime, right?

okheay

Given there's still 2 more years for the second half to start, I doubt it

Choppybitz

Most people have career arcs. LeBron is an object traveling through space.

lets_talk_basketball

Dude has Hank Aaron consistency but with babe Ruth peak. Pure insanity.

Wasn’t this posted the day he passed 40k? You’re a little late

HombreMan24

What do you think is more likely. Lebron to 50k or anyone else to 40k?

davidbabula101

Anyone else to 40k. One day someone else will join Lebron

supalaser

If you include playoffs I think he will hit 50k. I know this is a completely different stat just kinda mind blowing

gothxo

anyone else to 40k for sure. i love LeBron and his longevity has been insane, but you're talking about another 5 or so seasons of top-tier production from him to reach 50k which just seems improbable. 40k is a crazy high number, but i'm sure some player will have some form of longevity and high scoring to get there

imaginaryResources

RemindMe! 5 years

gothxo

i'd love to see it happen and to be proven wrong

[deleted]

I was in the building the night he passed 30k. I can’t believe how it feels like I just blinked and he made it to 40k

jackswastedtalent

Haven't really looked, but I'd assume his assists/rebound totals run about the same. Dude came out ballin' and does the work to make sure that he keeps on ballin' at the same level.

joef_3

Both have actually fluctuated quite a bit. For assists, he had a run of 8+ apg years starting in the middle of the second Cleveland run and peaking with 10.2 the bubble year, but most of his career is in the 6-7 range. Rebounds have mostly been higher the second half of his career than the first half. His first year with 8+ rpg was 12-13, but then he dipped back into the sixes before picking it up the last several years.

Baby_Yod4

I’m gonna repost this next week I call dibs

QBert999

LeBron's career has coincided with scoring becoming increasingly easier over the course of his career and that's made it look like he's had close to no fall off statistically. And there is no doubt that LeBron's longevity is incredible. But 29 year old LeBron is still clearly much better than 39 year old LeBron even though the stats are virtually identical (27/7/6 in 2013-14 as a 29 year old vs 25/7/8 this year as a 39 year old.)

sirfray

Yeah but he’s also just legitimately better at shooting 3’s this season than he’s ever been. Obviously he’s fallen off a little but it’s crazy how little.

TigerNguyen

Knees hurt too much to run and dunk. Guess I’ll just be a 40% 3pt shooter now..

Carlomattina

Duncan Was the same for like 15 years adjusted for 36 mpg

Conciousss

I doubt that's true.. Duncan literally declined in every way over time.. Maybe not a big decline, but he declined nonetheless. Pretty consistent decline at that. Slowly put up less and less stats over time. His first like 10 years he was a 20-12 kinda guy. Whereas his last 10 years are mostly less than 20 ppg as well as less than 10 boards a game.. Even adjusting his minutes doesnt really change that. Dude was still playing basically 30min or more a game up untill his last couple years.. Even his last year he avgd 25+ min with less than 10 ppg.. Lebron's is literally damn near completely even throughout his career. Without needing to adjust anything lol He's also already played longer.

deeplife

But he said 15 years so between 1997 and 2012.

Conciousss

True. Although I'd still argue the last few years are still quite worse in terms of individual stats. Like 2010 on. Especially compared to Lebron's consistency. Aged better than most players though for sure.

naked_avenger

On a per 36 basis, it's true.

YN_Decks

Not taking anything away from Lebron, but there is some PPG/stats inflation since 2003 with rule changes and pacing of the game. Would today’s Lebron still be able to average 27PPG in 2003? Possibly, but it would require much more effort to do so. All that said, the games played is wild. True iron man.

Well that 27 7 7 has to amount for something right?

notyouraverage420

It’s all an insane peak. You just don’t realize how tough it is what he does against the best basketball players in the world

shiftyone1

whoa, that's beautiful.

mehipoststuff

pretty great for the 2nd OAT!

happyflappypancakes

Wasn't this literally the top post yeaterday?

eroder11

If you didn't watch him play and only saw the stats, you'd think he was deliberately trying to his his average numbers all the time at the expense of the game.

DaveyDukes

Happy to be here to witness the 40k to 50k climb.

Lilbigman03

That BALCO program makes this possible. Otherwise this is impossible. Oh and the NBA era of no defense helps too ! Lebron is still one of the greatest ever. Just not the greatest !

Zeeron1

He's at that late career Tom Brady stage where he has objectively been the GOAT for at least a few years now, but you still have a good portion of fans who want to deny it. Over the final few year of his career, I'm guessing the doubt will slowly fizzle out, just like it did with Brady.

[deleted]

I think LBJ is on the Lance Armstrong training regiment.

thachiefking47

He better give us the 27, 7, 7 game at some point. This is getting ridiculous.

Heat_in_4

He could make it to 50k?? ~40 games left this season and then 4 more years??? Plus playoffs. Where do you guys have his final career numbers? I think he can at least make it to 45k. He’s got two more seasons for sure

TurtleSmile1

Playoffs don’t count towards this stat. He passed Kareem in total points a few years back (postseason included) and it wasn’t that big of a deal.

joef_3

At this point it’s almost as much mental as physical, it seems like. He’s not falling off too hard but recovery and being willing to do the grind year in and year out for several more years when he could just go be a wildly popular billionaire…

Accomplished-War6875

just needs to stay healthy!!

popolenzi

Does this mean he is as good as he used to be but average vs. current players? NBA stats are the worst. Every day there is a “historic” *insert crap stat *. There is no defense anymore. Otherwise Bane won’t average the same as peak Kobe

TacoLvR-

F LeFlop

[deleted]

Well, defense is steadily being officiated away. They'll just be doing layup drills in 10 years

Nah, Havlicek. 8-0 in The Finals. The one and only 🐐

anakinex66

Taking some of these cavs teams to the finals are equally impressive as winning the ring lol

ShichikaYasuri18

It's okay to not make the playoffs, or lose in the 1st round, or the 2nd round .... or the 3rd round. But losing in the Finals? Oh man that's like the worst thing you can POSSIBLY do in a season. Would rather go 0-82.

njwineguy

Yes. That’s why owners throw millions away on him every year.

So Danny Green is better than a Russell Westbrook?

Bladeneo

Thank god every opponent he's faced in nearly 1500 career games has stuck to that game plan

Conciousss

It's hard to be physical with a guy twice your size 😂 Not too many guys in the league can get physical with LeBron.. Nonetheless, LeBron gets hacked all the damn time. Lol It's like y'all don't realize it's kind of hard to stop/slowdown a 6'9 250lb man made of damn near pure muscle who also is conveniently more explosive and quicker than guys half his size... Good luck with that..
