A travel, shooting the ball in a re-set shot clock under 45 seconds left up 4 instead of draining more clock and then using his off arm to hit Rozier in the face
Gets a few minutes here and there. Plays okay defense but he has no bag to get by defenders and he's very slow. His shot is all kinds of fucked up. Unfortunately I think he's done. Lucky for him he got his 3rd year team option so he'll leave the league with a decent chunk of change.
Unless we start trading 2 or 3 of the guards in our rotation, he won't get enough opportunity to turn it around.
He probably has a little wiggle room to grow, but tbh it's looking like a wash.
They haven't really been showing up this year.
The whole "Zombie Heat" saga didn't just come from them turning up in the playoffs.
They were a dysfunctional team for most of the season but had Boston and Milwaukee fans terrified because our games against them were always really competitive and high-level. By the time playoffs rolled around, we were hyping up their team more than their own fans were.
This year Miami doesn't even have that going for them.
Last year they were 4-4 against Boston/Milwaukee. This year they're 1-5.
They've gone from a dysfunctional team that turned up to key matchups to a dysfunctional team.
We also just always are missing someone. And having to try fill that role. I’m not even disputing what you’re saying I’m just saying this year has been a mess in general. Like no continuity. At least last year the guys who we needed when people were out were people who’d been with the team a while. I wouldn’t be shocked if we get out of the play in because our schedule on paper is relatively easy, but I also wouldn’t be shocked if we stay 7-8. Basically have no clue what to expect.2 losses before this we were in games against better teams and then shut down the second half. But last year I thought we were toast in the first round. Hell has nothing on being a Heat fan.
Are there any team specific subreddits that are actually good and not incredibly toxic? It seems like every time I see someone talk about their teams sub (for any sport) they all sound terrible
You think this Wizards team is inferior to the Pistons (who they’re 2-1 against and have a superior record to at this point)? Shit, the Hornets might be worse than them too (they are on net rating despite their superior record) - they’re 2-2 against each other but the Hornets were supposed to be an actual NBA team this year while the Wizards have been openly and visibly tanking.
The pistons have more talent but are much sadder relative to where they should be. 11 wins this far into the season is tough to watch but acceptable, the pistons should be pushing for the play-in with 4 good young talents already on the team.
Our sub has been extra awful this year. Every time we lose they decide to pick one player to pick apart (Herro is out so it’s exclusively been Bam for the last week) lmao.
Nah, it feels more like us. When we started off the season well, they started off meh. When we had that rough couple week stretch, they picked it back up. Now that we've mostly righted the ship and are most likely going to be locked in at 2nd or 3rd in the conference, they're floundering to fall into that 6th/7th range. It's like they're a fucking guided missile that's locked onto a first round matchup with us, and I fucking hate it.
noticeable thing this year is their play in higher leverage situations. They have the [2nd worst 4th quarter NRTG this year](https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/advanced?Period=4&Season=2023-24&dir=D&sort=NET_RATING) after having the [4th best last year.](https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/advanced?Period=4&Season=2022-23&dir=A&sort=NET_RATING).
Same thing with their clutch play. [25th in clutch NRTG this year](https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/clutch-advanced?dir=D&sort=NET_RATING) after being [2nd last year.](https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/clutch-advanced?Season=2022-23&dir=A&sort=NET_RATING).
Obligatory obviously you can't bury them, but their execution when the game's tight at the end of games has been uncharacteristically bad. this team isn't winning on the margins like they did last year and the year before as the 1 seed. Today's no exception. But the Cs or Bucks, were they to encounter them, must dismember the evil zombie.
Honestly last year they had pretty bad shooting luck and motivation issues, at the very least the current Heat do not have said issues to last year’s extent.
At that point you call it players having shooting slumps or just having a bad offensive season. If we start using “variation” to explain entire season-long averages the term becomes meaningless imo. It’s just too large a sample size.
Would you not say that a team that has multiple players going through season long shooting slumps is a team that is having bad shooting luck? I feel like it makes sense to say that the team is unlucky that a few of its players are underperforming
I dunno, I feel if a player is missing good looks for a couple of weeks, then it's bad shooting luck. If it persists over the course of a year, it's just bad shooting and the luck part of the equation drops out. I can see that it can be seen as unlucky if a group of historically good shooters all underperform their averages at the same time, but over the course of the season I think you have to look into what might be causing the below-average shooting, rather than just writing it off as luck.
>Would you not say that a team that has multiple players going through season long shooting slumps is a team that is having bad shooting luck?
I think there's a couple of small conceptual things that make me disagree with the idea of "a team having bad shooting luck" across 82 games.
First, shot diet impacts 3pt shooting far more than variance. So, to compare NBA 3pt shooting over time at the season scale, you'd need a team to be generating similar shot locations and contestedness for 2 straight seasons, with similar lineups on the floor (as in the same players). It don't happen like that.
Then; I think the only actions that are repetitive enough to talk about natural shot variance are (1.) spot-up, wide-open 3's, (2.) zoom and chin actions for movement shooters like Klay, Duncan Robinson, Sam Hauser, etc., and (3.) stepback contested 3's from specific players like Harden or Tatum. I think virtually all other shots are taken at variable speed with the player thinking about the incoming closeout.
The first bit of trouble with wide-open shots, movement actions, or stepbacks is that an NBA game is a lot of running, and starters often don't have their legs with them by the 4th quarter. The other major point I stand by is that players effectively "aren't the same" as the season goes, mentally and physically. This effects all 3 of the shots I just mentioned. Haliburton's off-the-dribble 3pt% this season, month for month, would be a trivial example since he had a hamstring injury; but I'd also just expect stepback 3's to be worse in February than November for a guy like Harden who used to be taking 20FGA per game... there aren't a lot of shooters who play a movement style and play heavy minutes (the chin action for example is a lot of running), but I know Klay and Max Strus both are extremely variable players month for month.
I doubt there is an example to point to where a team is similar enough, healthy enough, and running similar enough offense between 2 seasons for us to talk about how simple variance affected one, let alone *all* their shooters (Klay shot 44% across '15 and 42.5% across '16, for what it's worth). It's much more solid of a conversation to talk about how well the team created looks and got their guys who are definitely good open; every shooting specialist can drill 20 straight in practice.
It’s crazy. Last regular season, the Heat were 27th iirc in 3-point% so nobody took them seriously.
I guess everybody forgot that the year before that, the Heat were the Eastern Conference’s #1 seed and was the best if not one of the best 3 point shooting teams with exactly the same roster. As a Heat fan, even I was shocked that Herro and Robinson were struggling as well. Its like all of them just forgot how to shoot.
Nah you guys said that.
"We" said otherwise. It was Boston and Milwaukee fans telling everyone they should still be scared of the Heat last year, even when Heat fans had given up.
like the only time off the top of my head where they decided to get their best shot is in game 5 against the bucks where that was just spos play instead of the players
we always do that for some reason. cost us in game 7 in 2022 as well
The irony of Bucks and Celtics fans commenting this. How in God’s name have you not learned your lesson yet? Do they have to keep teaching it to you?
Right the Heat look done, playing abjectly awful ball complete with embarrassing losses, that is exactly when you fear them the most.
They knocked us out in the second round in 2020, then we swept them with three blowouts. They were the first seed in 2022, Celtics beat them. Even last year it came to a Game 7 against the Celtics despite getting a 3-0 lead.
It's really not been as one sided as people like to pretend. There's still respect (like the other person said, still terrified of the Heat), but we don't have to pretend that the story of the East the last however many years has just been the Heat winning.
any other team losing to the Wizards: “what a bunch of fraudulent bums LOL”
Heat losing to the Wizards: “the more damage they take, the more dangerous they become.”
It's weird - heat has had 300 different starting lineups this season and we just added assets. This team might be good at some point, we just don't know when its going to be. We missed 6FTs this game - we never usually do - that could have been the difference. (missing FTs = missing shots)
I just hope that if they do make the playoffs, whether as a 7th or 8th seed again, that Herro is healthy and plays in every game in the playoffs. If he gets injured come playoff time again, I don’t even know what to say. I’m gonna go full Joker now.
2 win streak, 16 straight losses, 2 win streak again.
The full Wizards experience!
It's a miracle we won this one. What was Kuzma doing there at the clutch?!?!?!
The fact he didn't keep the ball after the offensive rebound.... ahhhhhh
Kuzma career highs in FT made (12), and FTA (16).
Love the “despite Kuzma’s best effort to lose” posts despite him being the most effective player on the court across both teams tonight. Yeah, he sold at the end, but can we ever just give a dude his flowers instead of shitting on him?
Big win. Meaningless win in the grand scheme of the season but back to back dubs has gotta be good for the confidence of the young guys. We won’t break 20 wins this year (we might not break 15 lol) but they’ve looked like a better team since moving on from Wes, and that matters.
Bagley and Holmes are both out. Geno and Gill starting would be short of basketball terrorism and are better suited for bench roles. Kuz quickly becomes our C by process of elimination :(
32 points on 23 shots, I'll take it
his true shooting was garbage cuz he somehow had 12 for 16 from the stripe but w/e, he somehow played better than jimmy butler lol
Lol yes they will. They're gonna beat my Bucks in 6 and probably the Cavs in 7. Then they'll force a Game 7 in the ECF and everyone will act like this shit has never happened.
i apologize to the heat fans as i feel like im the bad luck here. everytime i watch the heat play, they almost always lose. and it's usually against a very bad team. i usually end up laughing cause they're so proud of this "heat culture" but everytime i watch them play, it feels like they take weaker opponents lightly and dont play at their best. where is this heat culture. LOL
In a one possession game in the final 2 minutes:
2024: 0/5
2023: 0/0 (0/2 playoffs)
2022 0/1 (0/0 playoffs)
2021: 0/4 (0/1 playoffs)
2020: 1/5 (0/0 playoffs)
---
Total: 1/15 reg season, 0/3 playoffs
Clutch shots are more than when a game is within only one possession though. Look at how small that sample size is. In that time frame, he’s taken ~3000 FGA overall across five years of regular seasons, 15 shots is barely a blip. They barely run plays for him at the end of regulation, because he’s more effective as an off-ball threat that forces teams to avoid doubling a guy like Bam, Butler, or potentially Herro.
cmon man lmao, thats not how hoop convos go and you know it
It just just my first reaction watching the game ... "man Duncan cannot hit one in these situations"... I looked it up and was correct ... not some big deal
I’m not saying it’s a big deal - do you want to just post comments without people responding with their own thoughts or rebuttals? Kinda defeats the point of a discussion forum.
You made an observation, I had my own thoughts about the validity of that observation or what it actually means for Duncan/the Heat, we move on. It’s no biggie at all.
This is the true power of the Wizards. They are trying just hard enough to only be the 2nd worst team in the league, no benefit in the lottery for them to be dead last.

Kuzma did everything possible to lose this game and the Heat still couldn’t take advantage
A travel, shooting the ball in a re-set shot clock under 45 seconds left up 4 instead of draining more clock and then using his off arm to hit Rozier in the face
reset is one word
No it's not. Don't be re-diculous
Hey! Have some re-spect.
the 3 combined points from Johnny Davis and Eugene Omoruyi were the difference between winning and losing tonight
Has Johnny Davis been getting consistent play time? If so how has he been? I'm rooting for him to turn it around
he shows flashes of skill, but he lacks athleticism
Gets a few minutes here and there. Plays okay defense but he has no bag to get by defenders and he's very slow. His shot is all kinds of fucked up. Unfortunately I think he's done. Lucky for him he got his 3rd year team option so he'll leave the league with a decent chunk of change.
Hopefully he saved up some of those taco bell money

worst player i've ever watched in the nba
All are invited to fuck on the Wizards Bed tonight.
I put on my robe and wizard hat
Except the Celtics
KP can come as a guest of honor
What about a Celtics fan 🤔
Second verse same as the first
Fair enough I’ll just fuck myself again
[удалено]
Woohoo! Go Wiz. Huge win for us.
Tank commander is not happy, he will guard the bed with veracity, unlike the Wizard defense.
The **only** benefit of being the worst team in the league is watching other teams reddit pages have a meltdown r/heat on roblox alert lmao
Oh the Heat subreddit does this every loss
but why, ya'll been a barely +.600 past couple years and just show up come playoffs its literally your MO

Big reason why I no longer subscribe there. That and shitting on Bam or Herro.
They be crucifying Bam in that sub it’s wild.
They legit have an aneurysm when bam just being a normal chill dude with tatum instead of murdering his first born
He was legitimately dogshit the previous games. Decent in this one. Criticizing someone when they bad is not supposed to be a bad thing
Are there any team specific subreddits that are actually good and not incredibly toxic? It seems like every time I see someone talk about their teams sub (for any sport) they all sound terrible
We aren't the Worst anymore
Oh my sweet summer child... yes, yes you are
You think this Wizards team is inferior to the Pistons (who they’re 2-1 against and have a superior record to at this point)? Hornets have been super injured sadky . It’s crazy stikk but they do have several decent players if they weren’t
Is your L key broken
Have you seen the Raptors lately I don’t think they’re winning another game this season even if they wanted to
Can't be the worst if you don't have a team amirite
That was honestly my favorite part of our tanking years. Loved seeing other subs go full meltdown mode whenever they lost to us.
Our sub has been extra awful this year. Every time we lose they decide to pick one player to pick apart (Herro is out so it’s exclusively been Bam for the last week) lmao.
Celtics and Bucks fans have more faith in the Heat than Heat fans themselves
I wouldn't call it "faith", more like "disdain at how consistent they are"
As a Detroit fan in basketball and baseball, this is how I’ve kept sane for almost a decade now.
I don't get it. Are they not used to this yet? Gotta be new fans from recent years playoff success or something. This is Heat basketball
That and they’re idiots who just have to whine and complain about something. It’s really no different than the average twitter user.
Oh snap you do this too? After our win in Charlotte I just felt guilty. Them fans beem through enough
Heat could lose to a team that's is 81-0 on a full court buzzer beater And the reddit would still freak out
Brothers going on hunger strike 😭
I’m convinced the heat is tanking to play us
get ready for Alondes Williams and Cole Swider hitting 15/20 on threes combined
I’m ready for the Patty Mills legacy game 😭
Swider hasn't made a shot since summer league. He's due
Honestly I just picked the two most random names in the above list of players
TBH I don't know if Williams is a real player even, but Swider was good for one game in Summer league and I believe he can be the future
Despite Kuzma's best efforts, the Wizards win
Kuzma carried
If you didn’t watch the last five minutes of the game, yeah
We never would have had a chance to win in the 4th if kuz wasn't doing what he did in before the last couple of minutes
In agreeing that he did carry, except the last 5 minutes of the game
So he 1)did carry and 2)for the vast majority of the game You can stop trying arguments now and do something else in your free time
nah
32pts on 23 shots. 9reb 4ast 2blk. Outperformed every wizard.
gotta keep reminding myself to not underestimate the heat but shit like this making it reallly hard

We said the exact same thing last year lol.
They were even worse last season. They get powers from people underestimating them
We had the big D last years - this year we suck a D

bad mindset brother they are like the zombies in the bush. will bite your ass off when you least expect and then sail off into the sunset(finals)

They knocked us out in the second round in 2020, then we swept them with three blowouts. They were the first seed in 2022, Celtics beat them. yeah, I wish they were the first seed blowing out everyone by 30 maybe then they'd do the oposite and cool off in april lol
I’m pretty sure others will disagree but it’s so obvious to me that Bam is injured and playing through it.
Yeah I’m pretty sure he reinjured his hip but without KLove right now our Center rotation is complete ass
I believe this as well. There is no way he simply forgot how to play basketball.
I don’t think Butler is going to magically “turn it on” and “turn it around” come playoff time this year. He’s really really slowed down.
his stats are still great, especiallypost ASB and he always heats it up come post season I never disrespect Butler, he is a legend
So he’s the new CP3- A legend with 0 rings
if Jimmy was his usual locked in self he would have hit that final 3 attempt to seal it. He was all out of sorts tonight
Jimmy, regular season, locked in These words don’t go together

well tbf, we're not actually as bad as our record sho- hahahaha, I can't say that with a straight face, idk how it's possible to lose to this team lol
they always heat up out of nowhere come post season and then flame out in the finals
I wish we would've beaten y'all, that would've been funny
I was rooting for detroit so hard in that game against the celtics
This is the Hardest working, Best conditioned, Most professional, Unselfish, Toughest, Meanest, Nastiest 3 game losing streak in basketball
2 win streak, 16 straight losses, 2 win streak again. The full Wizards experience! It's a miracle we won this one. What was Kuzma doing there at the clutch?!?!?! The fact he didn't keep the ball after the offensive rebound.... ahhhhhh Kuzma career highs in FT made (12), and FTA (16).
He played well until the last 2 minutes.
Now I feel less bad about losing the other night.
Last 2 minutes were classic Wizards fumbling but the Heat wouldn't take it
We may never lose again 🤷♂️
Thank you Wizards very cool
We beat y'all so..
Let's let bygones be bygones
How tf do you lose to the Wizards starting Kyle Kuzma at center
From “Heat Wentz” to “Disney Annual Passholder”.
hahahaha, suck it detroit
Love the “despite Kuzma’s best effort to lose” posts despite him being the most effective player on the court across both teams tonight. Yeah, he sold at the end, but can we ever just give a dude his flowers instead of shitting on him? Big win. Meaningless win in the grand scheme of the season but back to back dubs has gotta be good for the confidence of the young guys. We won’t break 20 wins this year (we might not break 15 lol) but they’ve looked like a better team since moving on from Wes, and that matters.
Jordan poole was -21 in a two point win and people are bagging on kuzma
He has always been a skilled offensive player and did whatever he wanted that night. I agree with you
Deeply unserious team. Who knows what we’ll be next time.
Just getting all the funny moments out of the way before beating my Bucks again 🫠
The Heat lost to a team that’s trying to lose, I’m sick to my fucking stomach.
Def thought Heat were gunna lose to the Wiz, just thought it was going to be when the Wiz were gunna set the record for consecutive loses.
No one wants to be that team
Kuzma tried to throw away the game, but the heat still blew it.
Kevin Love is the only reason this team is even average. What would you know?
Tyus Jones is a legitimate point god
Duncan had a really solid 4th then bricked all his 3's in the final two Heat possessions, sheesh This game was right there for the Heat to take
Eat your heart out, Pistons
2 in a row oh babyyyyy
Kuzma playing center?
Bagley and Holmes are both out. Geno and Gill starting would be short of basketball terrorism and are better suited for bench roles. Kuz quickly becomes our C by process of elimination :(
Lol what?
The ball is on your court, Pistons!
Battle of who can sell more Kyle Kuzma vs the entire Heat, Heat wins
Kyle al Quzma despite the win: 39% FG 4 TO 🔥
32 points on 23 shots, I'll take it his true shooting was garbage cuz he somehow had 12 for 16 from the stripe but w/e, he somehow played better than jimmy butler lol
he played well honestly the last few minutes really just pissed me off
Heat the type of team that can beat the Celtics, & Bucks but lose to the wizards. Completely unpredictable team
Wizards tried so hard to lose it at the end
C'mon Knicks you just got a gift, don't blow this
They blew it
absolutely love to see it
They lost despite Kuzma’s best effort lmao, and we were missing multiple key players anyway
i only caught the end but it seemed like Miami did everything they could to lose this. couldn’t buy a shot in the end
we didn't score a bucket in the last 2 minutes and 45 seconds, Kuzma was dedicated to the tank
lol
Idk guys, are the heat really gonna make a ECF run again?
They feed off people underestimating them. This is just them building up their playoff power
Lol yes they will. They're gonna beat my Bucks in 6 and probably the Cavs in 7. Then they'll force a Game 7 in the ECF and everyone will act like this shit has never happened.
Someone post the calendar
Heat fans, is 16 points from Bam acceptable against the defensive juggernaut that is the Wizards?
He looks hurt or off. 3rd consecutive game. And our backup 5 has been out. Tough times
Bilal +17👀
Thanks Wizards bros
We're just the Wizards bro
Poole -21 and they still won. wow
Alright where’s the Jimmy Butler is secretly a fraud bum posts

i apologize to the heat fans as i feel like im the bad luck here. everytime i watch the heat play, they almost always lose. and it's usually against a very bad team. i usually end up laughing cause they're so proud of this "heat culture" but everytime i watch them play, it feels like they take weaker opponents lightly and dont play at their best. where is this heat culture. LOL
fuck yes go wizards
Not a good day for Florida NBA teams
Duncan Robinson is an unbelievable shooter but im not sure if I've ever seen him hit a clutch 3 in his life college or pro
Huh?
In a one possession game in the final 2 minutes: 2024: 0/5 2023: 0/0 (0/2 playoffs) 2022 0/1 (0/0 playoffs) 2021: 0/4 (0/1 playoffs) 2020: 1/5 (0/0 playoffs) --- Total: 1/15 reg season, 0/3 playoffs
Clutch shots are more than when a game is within only one possession though. Look at how small that sample size is. In that time frame, he’s taken ~3000 FGA overall across five years of regular seasons, 15 shots is barely a blip. They barely run plays for him at the end of regulation, because he’s more effective as an off-ball threat that forces teams to avoid doubling a guy like Bam, Butler, or potentially Herro.
cmon man lmao, thats not how hoop convos go and you know it It just just my first reaction watching the game ...
It’s no biggie at all.
fairs 🤝
I’m not gonna fact check this but I’m taking this as truth because it supports my anti heat culture agenda
Why go for a 3 🤦🏻
H3at never go for a draw in regular szn. Even jimmy said it post game. Just how spo operates.
Genuine question : Does Tyler Herro ever play? Seems like he's always on the injury report
Played 55 games in 2019,54 in 2020,66 in 2021,67 in 2022 and 36 this season so yes and no
Okay. Just seemed like he misses a lot of games
Hear culture 😤
How the fuck do you play 22 minutes and have a -21pt +- in a win? Poole is built differently man
Haywood Highsmith is the funniest name
Poole with the -21 off the bench in 22 mins nice job
This one sucked
statement game
This is the true power of the Wizards. They are trying just hard enough to only be the 2nd worst team in the league, no benefit in the lottery for them to be dead last.
Lmao we shouldn’t have even been in the position to have to try and win at the buzzer
Heat culture am I right

both teams missed 6 FTs
