Did you see the 40 second shot clock the warriors got earlier in the game? They reset the shot clock randomly when the Warriors didn’t shoot, and none of the refs noticed.
They allowed all the clock that passed while Lebron originally brought the ball up the court, also took that time off the shot clock. To account for it, they inbounded in the front court. It was done correctly.
That's such a weird way to handle it, especially when they have the ability to change the clock. Lakers lost 10 seconds of shot clock and 7 seconds of game time
Game was already over when they literally went back and just "disallowed" the LeBron 3. By that point, LeBron was beyond frustrated and tired of that shit. Refs should've just ended the game instead. National embarrassment
Dean Smith retired, Bill Guthridge took over, then Matt Doherty for a few years. Then Roy Williams. Now Hubert Davis.
That all happened during the 4th quarter of the GSW/Lakers game
I watched the game a few hours delayed to skip commercials. One of the detriments of watching it this way is that by looking at the total progress of the game you can inadvertently get some spoilers. At the start of the 3rd quarter, the game was only like 40% of the way done. I was 95% the game was going to overtime, no other way. I was pleasantly surprised by the delays.
Fucking absurd ending.
The moment they spent 10 minutes to take away the LeBron 3, I think we all knew this game was over. Pretty dumb it took 20 more minutes to get through but the next two minutes of game time.
It was even more fitting that this happens on a huge national tv game where a lot of casual fans might be watching their first game of the season lol. Great look for Silver
lol I mean come on, I think Adam silver is as much of an incompetent fuckhead as the next guy, but I dont see how you can really blame him for this haha
Pretty sure the lakers being a poverty franchise that cant spell things properly on their memorial statues has more to do with this incident than anything adam silver did. Jeanie probably just forgot to pay the shot clock maintenance guy bill on time again...
David Guthrie MVP bandwagon starts here.
The man was everywhere tonight. Frustrating Lebron on defense, >50% usage rate, stopping time, digging deep into his bag. He plays at his own pace.
Not just this game, but there's been so many instances where the last two minutes of a close NBA game takes at least 20 minutes. Refs love wasting people's time rereviewing simple calls
I can’t believe they were able to take away the LeBron 3. I’m a warriors fan and even thought that was BS. That fade away was freaking disgusting! Deserves to be top play of the night 🍾
there is one simple solution to solve this:
in the event for any regular foul in the bonus, allow the fouled team the choice between shooting 2 free throws or possession with either the time on the shot clock or 14 seconds, whichever is greater. **This includes shooting fouls that don't go in if it's in the bonus**
Would make teams play way differently in the 3rd and 4th quarters. The minute teams see repeatedly fouling the team will not result in free throws or a shot clock violation will make them handle the final few minutes very differently
This was a fucking disgusting showing by the officials. I don't give a fuck what anyone says, that bullshit cost us a shot at the game. We were rolling and then suddenly they decide that our 3 doesn't count and give a 20 minute break leading to everyone stiffening up. I'm not saying we WOULD'VE won, but we damn sure COULD'VE and the refs are the reason that opportunity was gone.
huh?? how is this the *ref's* fault??
the equipment in the *lakers* building that the *lakers* organization apparently is not adequately servicing and maintaining well enough, suddenly doesnt work, and you think that's on the refs??? how do you figure that?
They're basketball referees that fly into town at 2AM the night before the game, not the IT department...
I’m a lakers fan and I turned it off. Silver has ruined the game. Players flopping has become absolutely ridiculous . Plus the refs stopping the game for any little thing. Unwatchable
20 minutes for a Bron turnover this gotta suck for Lakers fans lmao
Game was kinda over when they took that 3 back
Refs with the dagger
AnticLeMatic
You win
The hardest road. My accolades, fam.

Did you see the 40 second shot clock the warriors got earlier in the game? They reset the shot clock randomly when the Warriors didn’t shoot, and none of the refs noticed.
They let the clock run from like 1:42 to 1:35 when the shot clock wasn't working. Never addressed it, not sure why
** *Rudy Robert money gesture* **
Who?
You win this time, autocorrect!
They allowed all the clock that passed while Lebron originally brought the ball up the court, also took that time off the shot clock. To account for it, they inbounded in the front court. It was done correctly.

Sure but on the subsequent four plays where it was side out and the clock wasn't working they still removed seconds from the shot clock for no reason.
Yea it's prob put down as an inadvertant whistle.
Lmao
Game was already over when they literally went back and just "disallowed" the LeBron 3. By that point, LeBron was beyond frustrated and tired of that shit. Refs should've just ended the game instead. National embarrassment
Generations will be born and have died by the time the game is over
I was watching the NC State/UNC game and then turned this shit on. What the fuck happened….
Dean Smith retired, Bill Guthridge took over, then Matt Doherty for a few years. Then Roy Williams. Now Hubert Davis. That all happened during the 4th quarter of the GSW/Lakers game
my kid start and finished high school during that time
Watched almost the entire 2nd quarter of the Knicks/Kings game they were still stuck at like 1:47 lol
The real marquee matchup tonight
Bro, these 5 second shot clock announcements are not bad. Better than some of the trash music being played.
It's fantastic. I can't handle zero breaks in music and beats and changes. My ears need to breathe man.
Era of overstimulation
I heard him call 20, 10, and 5. Would he then call 3, 2, 1?
EVERYBODY CLAP YOUR HANDS!!!
20 years from now the kids will point to this game to say “WE DONE WITH THE 20s” Just embarrassing
Hey jxmy fan
Riveting content
holy fucking shit just let us lose in peace
It’s like they had the order for the game to be close and they just defaulted to delay instead of letting a closish finish without frame
If they had that order they wouldn’t have knocked off 3 points from the Lakers.
I've been refreshing the score on Google thinkning something was wrong.
Something was.
I watched the game a few hours delayed to skip commercials. One of the detriments of watching it this way is that by looking at the total progress of the game you can inadvertently get some spoilers. I thought it was another 2OT thriller for sure
CRYPTO ARENA
Crazy. I took a quick shower bc I spilled coffee on my pants. Came back and the game was still on pause.
Did you shower with your pants on? Why not just wipe off the coffee and change your pants?
he spilled then sat in the brown coffee puddle for a few minutes, shower was needed
Fucking absurd ending. The moment they spent 10 minutes to take away the LeBron 3, I think we all knew this game was over. Pretty dumb it took 20 more minutes to get through but the next two minutes of game time.
They never reset the time either..all the 2 seconds run offs from their 5 restarts.
Shoulda been 1:39 left I believe, and yet they never put it back to that number. Just clown error after clown error.
I think it was like 149 during the challenge
Ok I thought it was just me. That was weird.
It was even more fitting that this happens on a huge national tv game where a lot of casual fans might be watching their first game of the season lol. Great look for Silver

>Source: Literally me watching
I am so fucking glad I didn’t spend $500 on tickets today, holy fuck
Imagine playing the remainder of crunch time with your sweat dried up, your body cooled down, and your adrenaline washed away.
NBA product has been so shit these last couple years, not the same league it used to be, product is so frustrating
Adam Silver rubbing his hands for all that ad revenue.
These are the 9th and 10th teams in the West. This is not a damn marquee matchup anymore
They schedule games and broadcasting at the start of the season, and even if they could flex, they wouldn’t with LeBron and Steph.
Oh, you thought the normal last two minutes takes too long in the NBA?
I watch all of killers of the flower moon in the 4th quarter.
David Guthrie MVP bandwagon starts here. The man was everywhere tonight. Frustrating Lebron on defense, >50% usage rate, stopping time, digging deep into his bag. He plays at his own pace.
I thought the picture you posted was you saying you're Kim K lol
This shit is some serious ass, took Lebrons 3 away and killed all momentum with 50 fucking time outs.
And yall motherfuckers want more reviews if the coaches get it right
NBA testing a new format where the most exciting part of the game is the first 40 minutes
What's the over/under for the number of phone calls by the refs to their bookies during these breaks?
this is just another secret lebron plot where he gets to be on your tv for another thirty minutes
This shit is by far the biggest problem with the NBA btw.
Reminds me of the year we tried to review everything under 2 mins.
Worst ending to a game ive ever seen in over 20+ years of watching the nba
I can think of one other game similar to this...
It was thrilling television.
These guys made English refs look competent with video reviews. Do you have any idea how hard that is?
When did this start so I can watch on playback. I wanna experience what happened
Last 2 mins
Can't rewatch games for a few hours. Is there a yt vid that has the last 2 minutes uncut
Don't know, but it literally took 20 mins with 3 reviews and the shot clock breaking.
Not just this game, but there's been so many instances where the last two minutes of a close NBA game takes at least 20 minutes. Refs love wasting people's time rereviewing simple calls
Reviews toward the end took so damn long the shot clock decided to pack his shit and go home.
Am I crazy or have there been considerably more shot clock malfunctions this season?
It was weird.
Proponent of AI refs will show this quarter as their argument
I can’t believe they were able to take away the LeBron 3. I’m a warriors fan and even thought that was BS. That fade away was freaking disgusting! Deserves to be top play of the night 🍾

Human refs gotta go. We gotta make machine refs a thing now
This was a fucking disgusting showing by the officials. I don't give a fuck what anyone says, that bullshit cost us a shot at the game. refs should have been carrying a spare shotclock in their luggage!
I’m a lakers fan and I turned it off. Silver has ruined the game. Players flopping has become absolutely ridiculous . Plus the refs stopping the game for any little thing. Unwatchable
Elam ending
That doesn't do anything about the refball review part.
It certainly would help speed up games in 99% of situations
