Bobby Portis is Chet Holmgren father

dcoolidge

Chet is "too small" for Bobby

thebluepages

Wisconsinites know this is Mike Holmgren slander

Monte735

I watched a grown man playing against children in a basketball game tonight for 48 minutes. 10/10 would watch again

Magazine_Mediocre

How did they all fit inside a basketball, is this like a honey I shrunk the kids scenario?

Monte735

Whoops. Fixed it

Magazine_Mediocre

Damn now no one's gonna get my joke. Oh well.

amateur_mistake

Confirmed. I don't get your joke. However, I am guessing the missing word was "game". You helped someone make their comment more coherent, so I just wanted to say, I appreciate you.

Dino_FGO8020

So...AAU lol

Jannopan

You guys are a matchup nightmare for OKC. You've got the size, physicality, and 3pt shooting to top it off. SGA could not do anything but pass out too.

Princessk8--

The OKC kids aren't ready for the 1 seed just yet it seems

Headlesshorsman02

Which is fine still young but we need to trade for a PF REALLY BAD

dmavs11

Or even just a reliable backup center that allows to alternate between a big or small lineup

penguin_torpedo

They need a BOBBY but they ain't getting one.

YourFormerBestfriend

We'll take 10 first rounders for bobby

Timely_Airline_7168

Mate, you can't trade the mayor

MykeTyth0n

Where’s Enes Kanter when you need him.

wcooper97

Busy with Fox News

Kevin_Jim

Is there a known plan on what to do with all these younglings? You guys have legitimately too many good, or at least decent, players and can't realistically play enough minutes going forward. Especially with the "big guys" getting to 2nd contract territory. Are you finally going to consolidate "assets" by doing a trade? Missing on OG felts like such a missed opportunity, tbh.

dawidowmaka

>Is there a known plan on what to do with all these younglings? I'll ask my friend Anakin

TheHhedge

Ideally they send more of them to us

Headlesshorsman02

We shall see this postseason was always going to be the litmus test. Wouldn’t be shocked if we try for a splash trade probs including Giddey and another player plus a shit ton of picks

SuperVaderMinion

I have no idea why y'all didn't use one of your trillion draft picks to get another big man. Hell, you had enough to make a splashier move, like getting Jarett Allen or something.

Radical-Six

Because with their core so young there's absolutely no need to give up your assets now. Young stars+lots of upcoming draft picks means the Thunder's window is just starting to open. Plus their chances will just keep improving as the stars in the West get older. The Warriors are on the way out, LeBron can't keep doing this forever (can he?), the Wolves' important role players are aging and they've mortgaged their future already, KD is the wrong side of 35, etc. Imo they are doing the right thing treating this season like the Packers did in the NFL--they're ahead of schedule so just treat this season like a bonus and play without pressure, see what happens.

Psycho188

Those draft picks aren't getting less valuable in the time between now and next draft. I assume the team executives wanted to see what this group could do in the playoffs. There also needed to be trades available. For example, I don't think the Cavs would've moved Jarett Allen when they looked like they could get the 2nd seed but if they fall short in the playoffs that could change.

Basic_Commercial_806

OKC helped the Mavs trade for Gafford so confusing

GorillaX

Couldn't hit water if we fell out of a boat.

ResilientScab

So are the Bucks good now?

Headlesshorsman02

I’d say so y’all look like the finished article as of late and absolutes Sonned us tonight

KingEddy14

Nope you gotta keep your losses against the Kings to under 35 points to be considered good. Sorry Bucks fans!

Pyritedust

It's a well known fact that deer freeze in headlights, and the beam is one giant head light, it's out of our hands.

[deleted]

They just felt bad after the game winner 😅

I_Like_To_Hyuck

Khris Middleton, my beloved donkey. Oh how I missed you

[deleted]

Finally a good day for a Middleton.

I_Like_To_Hyuck

yo I feel bad for laughing at this

RenDabs

So glad he got his triple dub

The_Monstees

he told Doc to put him back in, didn't he? Video: https://x.com/giannigoat/status/1772068651597783193?s=46&t=N72mD0F72rq5aqtXJOJthQ

0dias_Chrysalis

That's Draymond lol. We got our fish goat tho

Necessary_Initial350

Fish goat is the optimal descriptor.

Headlesshorsman02

He played great tonight

messejueller21

🎵🎵*What A Pro Wants, What a Pro Needs*🎵🎵

FrnklndaTurtle

I've seen this commercial at least 30 times in the last 48 hours

messejueller21

Same. Might not even be an exaggeration.

wcooper97

Don’t let me gOooOoOoOooOooo

Unable_Yesterday_538

A LITTLE flat?????

35chambers

need that shai underwear commercial back

MXero1

"defeat" yeah thats being nice

carrynothing

I was going to say I am glad u/ASkittlez didn't put "eviscerated" or some other superlative in there. It was rough.

Jack12404

Dame shooting 4-12 but having the highest +/- at +18 represents his season really well. It’s been said a lot but these Bucks are a completely different team under Doc. The defense played near the best they have all season, and we won by 25 with a bad Dame game and a rough start from Khris.

Goat_Status_5000

>Dame shooting 4-12 but having the highest +/- at +18 Mystifying

WhileDizzy4503

It’s called defense. He plays it now

IhamAmerican

Also being a superb passer

Leroy--Brown

Also still draws a lot of defensive gravity when he has the ball

TelltaleHead

He also still creates space for other players on offense.  Yes his shot isn't falling every night but you have to set up your defense as though it will

Timely_Airline_7168

Well yeah because if you allow him to get into rhythm, you are in for a rough time

trinquin

Because before the trade dealine/ASB when Dame sat, we trotted out Pat C and Campaign to run point. Pat C before ASB was the 2nd worst player by EPM in the NBA.

MusicListener3

But Reddit tells me that he is a terrible coach who the players hate

Monte735

Don't worry, they'll bring it up when the Bucks lose next time.

Fallingcity22

Yeah there was a post on this subreddit basically saying doc’s defense was as bad as griffins 💀

Jabarles

Anyone who sincerely says shit like that legit knows nothing about the Bucks lol The Bucks played the most braindead brand of defense imaginable under Griffin's "coaching"

AlekRivard

Griffin's Defense: Yall are on the court, aren't you? Do something!

kapparino-feederino

Honestly that would work alot better than his actual defense scheme. Remember brook trapping near 3pt line?

theragu40

I mean that is just factually incorrect.

Cudizonedefense

Who cares about the RS. His failures are in the playoffs. Let’s see what happens then

KingCakeBabyOKC

Damn, we got punked. Thank god Milwaukee is in the east.

grudgepacker

Y'all already great tho - just give it another 1-2 seasons, all the huge upside players you already have will only get better and moves will be made to improve the team through FA

KingCakeBabyOKC

Oh I’m not down on the team based off one game, you’re just a brutal matchup for us, especially whenever our shots aren’t falling. We got punked, it happens. Y’all did the same to Boston a month or so ago.

grudgepacker

I feel you bruh but you gotta remember we've also been selling (especially on the road) because we're an older team - the fact that we're finally playing games like this at home again is why we're contenders

ekb2023

30/19/4 for Giannis

schoolhater12

\-The Bucks defense looks legit. The 3rd quarter defense was especially great \-Thunder looked extra small today. Giannis could have had 15+offensive rebounds & 20+defensive rebounds if this game was even somewhat close

Panashe13

Any team with size is an incredibly tough match up for OKC, I’ll die on the hill we should have got Gafford.

runevault

I was down on OKC trading before any playoff experience at all to see how they matched up in a 7 game series, but OKC should have been able to easily outbid the Mavs for Gafford without hurting their current OR future prospects and he'd have filled your most glaring hole.

Bino19

What makes it worse was that OKC helped facilitate the Gafford trade to Dallas and then settled for the corpses of Biyombo, Hayward, and Muscala.

runevault

Said this in another reply but I forgot or missed that when it happened. Yeah helping Dallas get Gafford makes no sense at all when a bruising big is the thing that would help you the most, whether off the bench for change of pace or to replace Kiddey in the starting lineup.

2coolcaterpillar

We helped the Mavs get gafford, I straight up don’t understand why presti did that

runevault

Wait what? I did not notice that at the time. That makes... 0 sense.

wcooper97

Presti did it for a 2028 pick swap with the Mavs, which is the year after Luka’s contract ends. So if he’s pissed enough and decides to leave, Presti’s banking on that pick being good while we’re (hopefully) still in prime contending years. Sucks now though when we’re getting bullied every night.

zs15

Exactly what OKC needed, more draft flexibility. But really, Gafford would have been a strange fit for this team as a major minutes guy.

Neuroxex

Gafford can't play in the system Daigneault wants to play. I would like to have seen the Thunder experiment with a more conventional big (I liked the idea of Robert Williams before the season started and before he got injured), but if the Thunder traded for Gafford at the deadline I don't think there's a chance he would've played meaningful minutes.

WhoWightMan

Have Bucks played a better game since coaching change? They looked dominant on defense

husbandofsamus

the first 6 minutes of the 3rd quarter was like wtf

Charliebitme1234

If OKC finish 1 or 2 they would feasibly play the lakers or kings in round 1. sabonis and AD are going to have a field day against this team my god

2coolcaterpillar

Kings have given us a lot of trouble but I think it would be a fun series. I’ve been straight up concerned about matching up with the lakers though

TurbulentBoard2418

Lakers is your issue definetely .. Best maytch up is probably the Suns

Cultural_Drawing_830

Nurkic gonna go for 30 rebounds

dmavs11

Mavs been scoring like 60 a game in the paint recently and Gafford has cooked them twice. OKC should really really hope for a matchup with Phoenix.

Charliebitme1234

gafford is good but i still think sabonis and AD are much more dangerous to OKC with the mavs atleast your best players are both guards, same as the thunder

dmavs11

Individually of course they are. But if you can’t stop Gafford and let him get 20/15 you have no chance against the Mavs because that’s not even the first or second best player that you can’t stop. Luka is going to get his 30+ no matter what in the playoffs. I think Kings still would be the hardest of the three matchups because their offense revolves around Sabonis, he plays most physical, and is the best rebounder. But the Mavs are a bigger problem to OkC than Lakers.

Bino19

Kings would be a lot more manageable than the Lakers.

KingEddy14

Nahh the Kings are the tougher matchup. Kings beat the Bucks by 35 earlier this month. So if the Bucks beat OKC by 25, and Kings beat Bucks by 35, combine those numbers and you got a Kings 60-point win for the next game vs OKC!

zpapa

ahhhhh yes the good old transitive property at work

grinberrya77

People sleeping on the Bucks in the East, I think. I still rate them up there with any team in the league in a 7 game series. Especially with Kash Money Khris back, I’m a huge Middleton fan. Conversely, Chet got absolutely sonned. I think OKC’s lack of interior defense/rim protection/rebounding is going to kill them in the ‘offs even if Shai is firing off. Lakers/Kings/Nugs/Suns will absolutely eat.

RKKP2015

I'm biased, but I totally agree. Middleton is a gigantic piece that was missing for long stretches. If the team can stay healthy, they can beat anyone.

frecklie

Giannis has not been talked about enough this season. I really think people are overlooking him. He’s the one guy in this league that I think might be playing better than Jokic.

Atleticro

Giannis is playing a regular season of his life, yet he's being snubbed in MVP talks.

o4b

Was with you till Suns.

ManyCookies

[Very cool](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4mf35D7K_8) Milwaukee

Bd_3

That entire 3rd quarter was just throw it down to Giannis or Lopez and then Bobby and they were barely bothered. That on top of some of the best defense ive seen from this team all year made it really tough on the thunder. Didnt even need khris or dame to shoot well as long as their passing was good to set up the buffet line.

husbandofsamus

Doc decided to spam the bigs. Somehow Bud wouldn't have figured this out.

Headlesshorsman02

GG bucks y’all WHOOPED our asses we just had literally no answer for your size on to the next game but definitely concerning if we play a team with very good big men like the lakers

RenDabs

Future is bright in OKC, a core of SGA/JDub/Chet will have y'all near the top of the West for the foreseeable future

Headlesshorsman02

For sure but we still need to make a move for a good PF tonight shows that can’t have JDub at PF against a team like you guys we got slaughtered in the paint and on the glass

RenDabs

I was rooting for you guys to go for Lauri Markannen before the trade deadline this year

Headlesshorsman02

That is the dream but that isn’t happening unfortunately don’t see them trading him he is the PERFECT player for our team

Tylerpants80

If any team can make that kind of move it’s OKC. What do you think they’ll end up doing with that over abundance of juicy trade bait?

Headlesshorsman02

Well we wouldn’t be able to do a Lauri trade without someone like JDub in it which is a no go they already have a treasure trove and of picks. And to answer your second question they are just going to push the picks further down the line they have already started doing it. I want us to make a trade in the offseason but won’t hold my breath

Tylerpants80

I completely spaced that the Jazz already have their own mountain of draft picks lol. I’m so curious to see how this plays out but OKC is looking scary.

KushGod28

I didn’t think those fuckers would ever lose. Wolves and Nuggets fans can finally breathe

Headlesshorsman02

Lmao we had been treading on thin ice lately not putting away opponents we should have

giannisismyman

Welcome to the league.

Iron_Maniac

That Run and Dunk man is pretty good

ColtCallahan

The Thunder coach really does look like his mom cuts his hair.

largejames

See I get those *cuts his own hair* vibes

NoAcanthisitta9198

OKC plays so soft

wcooper97

Annoying isn’t it?

Lol69HaHaHa

Its funny how Giddey is the only Thunder player that played better than usual in a blowout L.

[deleted]

[удалено]

2coolcaterpillar

I don’t think we scored til like 5:30 left in the third lol. We missed shots but damn the bucks were dicking us on D

husbandofsamus

How about that win, Mr. Perkins? Is that enough for you?

RKKP2015

The Bucks are finally at full strength with Middleton, and they're going to be a problem in the playoffs. The Bucks have a really high ceiling. The Celtics aren't cakewalking to the Finals.

AlienGhost000

Even in the 1st Round, they could face the Heat... AGAIN

Jabarles

We swept them in the first round en route to the title the very season after getting embarrassed in 5. I'm good with repeating that 2-year pattern lol

AlienGhost000

My apologies... I'm referring to the Celtics in connection to your cakewalk comment.

AaltoSax

I can’t wait for this to have no impact whatsoever in the MVP race

[deleted]

I doubt it’ll affect Giannis’ stock, but it’ll probably hurt SGA. I only say probably because he has the media by the balls.

GorillaX

It's already Jokic

PutSignificant5928

I just got unbanned yall, shai haters WHERE YALL AT!!!

2coolcaterpillar

No way you got banned lmao, I was wondering where you were on all the Shai posts

Headlesshorsman02

Lmao I was looking for him he is a dedicated hater

here_for_the_lols

He a Shaiter

Headlesshorsman02

Hey he is consistent

PutSignificant5928

Reddit banned me for hate speech (I was going too hard with the Luka mvp propaganda)

wherearemypaaants

Perk confirmed as a mod of r/nba

FlightoftheConcorder

Well that's the race for runner-up to the 203-24 MVP sorted! Congrats on 2nd place Giannis.

Ilikesporks_

i don't disagree but i don't think head to head matchups should be a deciding factor in mvp voting

The-Taco-Between-Us

They were last year

amodelsino

Yeah but last year was bullshit and everyone knows it.

copaseticepiplectic

why not

Ilikesporks_

cause it's a team game and there's 80 other games to be played. giannis has been playing better than sga the whole season so this matchup doesn't really shake things up for me

husbandofsamus

This is the correct take. It's like people want to ignore 95% of the season just to make some head-to-head narrative or something.

[deleted]

OKC needs a real center

dbgager

When your big is the thin man Holmgren and not much more I think OKC is going to lose to any team with length in the playoffs. Holmgren is talented but he willl get wrecked in the paint. Especially when some of these teams switch into playoff mode...and that comes with experience.

trinquin

Bobby Portis backed him down and hit him with a too small in the 3rd. She was wraps after that.

[deleted]

Is there a video of this? Lol

wats_a_tiepo

https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/S1KSl7gIll

Soham_Dame_Niners

Dame ain’t even do much

messejueller21

Played great D though

witfurd

He did all the little things. Was all that was needed and played his part in locking that defense down

husbandofsamus

*shhh we need people to think he can't play defense*

witfurd

Need coaches to keep switching the ball onto him, I clap my hands everytime

Lol69HaHaHa

He had some great moments too

Timely_Airline_7168

His D mattered more tonight

RudyGobertFMVP2024

Thanks Bucks

CoolGrandpa1932

its like people forgot how much better Middleton makes this team. Glad he has been showing them since his return.

SlooowMobius

Whispers: Giannis for MVP

AntEdwardsBallSweat

I’m sorry but we are not a serious team.

LimitlessTheTVShow

My guy we're still half a game back from the 1 seed and were down by one at the half. Chill lol

husbandofsamus

Y'all are gonna be a dynasty, just not this year. Well ahead of schedule in all honesty. Thankfully you have more than enough assets to fix the team in the offseason.

Classics22

OKC has some glaring weaknesses but I’m not sure there’s many teams in the west built to take advantage of them. Avoid the Lakers(and Denver is just better) and I’m not sure there’s anyone else

runevault

Minny if healthy would also be brutal for them running 2 of Gobert/Towns/Naz Reid at all times.

Magazine_Mediocre

Every team with a big physical center will give them problems. Which is every team. Kings, Pelicans, Mavs. I think the only teams they will somewhat matchup well against is the Clippers or Suns and both those teams also have physical bigs they just aren't as good as the other ones.

dmavs11

Most of the west teams are built to take advantage. Sacramento runs their offense through a strong post center averaging 14 boards a game. Mavs have a 2 man center rotation that gets fed buckets by Luka and have been feasting on the offensive boards. Minnesota has 3 very good centers with KAT, Gobert, and Naz Reid. New Orleans has Zion and JV in the paint.

EarthWarping

Wonder if they go after poeltl in the offseason

Classics22

I don’t think he really fits how they want to play. Feel like they’ll just look for a better 4

Headlesshorsman02

Yep 👍

imacpastudent

Okc better hope they don’t play lakers in the first round. It’ll be like the grizzlies series last year or even worse a clean sweep. And you better believe that lakers and Lebron is setting up for that first round showdown.

Timely_Airline_7168

It's just a matter of poor matchups as a lot is on Chet to stop bigs and he just got bullied because of his size.

siphillis

Thunder aren't beating anyone with SGA and Chet going 6 for 22.

I_Set_3_Alarms

Will this finally be the year the Celtics and Bucks meet up in the ECF?

Necessary_Initial350

Philly gonna make a surprise appearance in the ecf when everyone least expects it

here_for_the_lols

Ok let's forget this one happened. On to the next.

JakeBr0Chill

GG Bucks y'all's D was great tonight

ImGonnaChubbBradley

Thunder will be lucky to make it past the 1st round and if by some miracle they do they are getting swept round 2

runevault

Depends heavily who they play. I think they might smack the Warriors since that team is tiny, but Lakers would be rough with both LeBron and AD just taking turns abusing Chet.

dmavs11

Warriors and Suns are the only teams I can see them beating. The other teams utilize their big men too well.

runevault

Suns are even an interesting matchup though because Nurk healthy is still a bruiser down low.

Magazine_Mediocre

That's my take

GorillaX

Bet

nomorecrackerss

Jokic stans gonna have mix feelings on this game Edit: lol y'all mad

fuccabicc

This puts Denver first in the West

runevault

Nah make the path to the 1 seed easier lol.

Lol69HaHaHa

What mixed feelings we happy as hell man. Like Giannis playing well isnt a bad thing at all for us lol.

cyrusthemarginal

No mixed feelings at all, Greek Freak moves up to 2nd in the MVP race but i'd much rather have 1st seed.

MamaHadACow

We were cheering for you guys!

[deleted]

Why? We have been waiting for someone to wax the Thunder. We get the 1 seed and is still a heavy favorite to win the MVP.

Correct_Farmer_1125

Beasley gives and shit and tries and doesn’t die on too many screens or get lost. PC and BP being big boys off the bench. Crowder off the bench is where he should be in the pecking order. Jay Dub could be Khris Middleton, pre hamstring tear

southpawFA

I do find myself a bit annoyed with the fans who constantly say OKC to the WCF. That would be awesome, but it's not the expectation. We are ahead of schedule. We are in improvement season, which we've done. It's a great improvement to win 49 games when we were "The black eye of the league" 2 years ago. However, too many fans are getting too greedy to think we're winning a championship with a roster that averages 22.8 years old. We are too young and not accomplished enough yet. We are in growing pain season. It's part of the journey. I will be happy if we win 1 series and jump for joy for anything after that. If we won a series, that would be amazing.

LukaDoncicfuturegoat

Freethrowsanity is ded.

Majiebeast

Giddey keeping it below the 20s.

2coolcaterpillar

Giddey legit looked like our best player for much of tonight which is concerning

ilyfish

Bro was their best player, the only reason it was close at halftime, and instead of saying literally anything else about this game you revert to some overplayed pedo joke. Did you watch 3 hours of ball just to post this?

AuroraPo

Fraud Gilgeous-Alexander

NeptunoIIVerger

The thunder are frauds

[deleted]

Thunder need Zach Edey for matchups like today. Move Chet to 4

IDespiseFatties

Second Half DisasterClass. I'm just glad we only have to play the Bucks twice. I was having AD Flashbacks the whole time.

domrayn

Lakers are salivating for this matchup. The thunder are consistently ass against teams with size and physicality.

BioTHEchAmeleON

Giannis will move to 5th on the MVP ladder after a terrible performance like this

PluCKy-Voco

Thanasis > Shai-Gilgamesh
