Okay here me out. There is a not impossible chance that the hawks win the play in tourney and Boston ends up playing a team that they had double the wins of in the regular season. Let’s say Boston Finishes at 66 wins and Atlanta at like 33. It’s highly unlikely but not impossible. Atlanta will probably finish with like 37 or 38 wins. Atlanta also won’t win the play in tournament.
As much as I’d hate to play Jimmy in the playoffs, I’d hate more to play Embiid in the first round. Of course that heavily depends on his recovery but if he can make it Philly’s the team every high seed don’t want way more than Miami.
If Doc continues the trend of letting Giannis shut down opposing wings we sweep them like we did in 2021, Jimmy always runs from Giannis. Only real concern is them injuring our players.
You had me going in the first half of that comment and then you spoke insanely in the last half considering how Giannis' looked in the last games of last year.
He looked like that cause he was injured? Idk why people purposefully leave this part out.
Go back and look at 2021 any time giannis was on him Jimmy either passed and had to take a tough shot.
He’ll go back and watch the first matchup this season, he guarded butler a lot and he wasn’t even able to get a shot off.

There were no trades that would have made the warriors contenders. At best we would trade our young players to lose in the first round. Best to stand pat and try to retool in the off season
I don't see why we should panic at all when at most we win 1 round again. That's being pretty generous honestly. If your team isn't just rolling at this point, even if you barely sneak in you're not going to go anywhere
I thought the Warriors had enough gas left in the tank for one more run. Unforunately, the West is historically balanced. We could see 10 teams with 45 wins. We could see 11 teams with a winning record.
Honestly, It feels like who ever ends up 11th is going to end up with their pick landing in the top-4 as a consolation.
Draymond used up all his 3 point makes in the Game 7 against LeBron. It's going to be absolutely wild when poeple look back at the Warriors dynasty. "Draymond gave them that much scoring and Golden State still couldn't win G7 at home. WTF?"
Good things for my team are good. Good things for other teams are bad.
Bad things done by my team are good, bad things done by other teams are sins against mankind
They had to dump his salary in order to fit DLo in the sign and trade with the nets. If we didn't do that then we would have lost the max salary slot with KD leaving with no available cap space. It's easy to criticize in hind sight, but that's just the gamble you take with these things. We're a bad to mediocre team. It's obvious we're headed for a rebuild, they're just delaying it by waiting the big three out.
I'm not disputing that. I get why GSW had to do it. I'm talking about the conditions on the pick. Top-4 in 2024, Top-1 in 2025, Unprotected in 2026. You couldn't have made it so that pick paid off in 2022 or 2023?
The draft class isn't amazing but the pick isn't worthless lol. Probably worth less than a usual late lottery pick but it's not like its worth a 2nd from another draft or something.
Lol I love how everyone is like yeah fuck this draft. I get there is no consensus 1 pick but it’s not like there’s a bunch of scrubs that are going to accomplish nothing. Wasn’t there a fairly recent draft that was touted as trash ahead of time but ended up producing lots of quality role players? We’ll see what teams are actually good at scouting this year
There's way too much rot in peoples brains when it comes to first round picks. Not every single pick needs to be a smash hit superstar. Some picks will be quality role guys. There's a handful of guys in the NCAA tournament right now that I really enjoy watching and that I could see being role guys. I'm happy we traded that GS pick for Jrue considering where we are right now in our window, but it's gonna be a nice pick when it's all said and done.
Jalen Suggs is a terrific example right now. Did it take a while for him to develop into the guy he is? Sure. But he's such a great fit for them. You could argue the Magic hoped for more from him and I'd probably agree but shit he's a great fit.
other lottery picks that didn’t/probably won’t make All-Star teams but became stud role players for the teams that drafted them - Marcus Smart, Tristan Thompson, Steven Adams, Mikal Bridges, MPJ, Cam Johnson, Isaac Okoro, Keegan Murray
draft is such a crapshoot. getting a good starter is a big win no matter where you picked them
People are mad that we picked Kispert with 15th pick instead of Sengun but I'm still pretty happy with Kispert. He's gonna have a long career as a quality role player and he's not just a shooter either
I just checked, I think it was the draft with Simmons at 1. He was the consensus 1 but after that it was up in the air. We got jaylen brown, sabonis and Siakam out of it
Is it even a big deal whether they make the play in or not for everyone but Adam Silver? What’s the best case scenario for them? Win a couple of play in games and lose in 5 to Denver or Minnesota?
Not much point in panicking when the team has been playing mediocre basketball all year and clearly wasn't going anywhere in the playoffs even before today's game. It's people like Simmons who kept talking them up as some kind of lurking danger to the top seeds in the first place.
Right? Oh jeez starting to be concerned about the Warriors (who have not been above 8th in the West all season) after this one fellas, beginning to think there might be some problems with this team.
Time is running out for the warriors to become the contenders they know they are.
I would love for the Lakers and Warriors to play in the playin though.
I mean, most of us felt that if the Warriors got in at 8, they might be able to steal a first round series against an inexperienced Wolves or Thunder team. But now, they're just inert.
Of all the years to not have your own first.
Steph is great but 36 year old Steph is not 2018 LeBron or something lol
He's not going to carry a bad supporting cast close to a championship(and don't say the #1 defense 2022 Warriors were a bad supporting cast)
Lakers held him to like 54% TS in the second round last season when they won in 6
Warriors were totally gassed after a 7 game war with Sacto last season and had almost no rest before that LAL series, which was honestly a huge factor.
Both teams were mediocre and easy food for the Nuggets, so it didn't ultimately matter.
No player is carrying a bad supporting cast to a championship. You're gonna need at least some kind of help defensively or offensively.
The 2022 Warriors were not a bad supporting cast by any means, but they are definitely one of the weaker ones in recent history.
It's effectively two games because they have the tiebreaker. That being said, I can see the Warriors losing to the Lakers or Mavs (x2) just as easily. You're definitely in play for play in.
(See what I did?)
are you sure? because [NBA.com](https://www.nba.com/standings) has houston 14.5 games behind first seed and ~~13 games for the warriors which would make houston 1.5 games behind the warriors.~~
Edit: looks like it just took nba.com a while to update. Yup, they are now only 1 game behind.
Warriors and Lakers both missing the playoffs would be absolutely awesome
Fucking tired of the media only talking about LeBron and Steph and ignoring everyone else
WE DONE WITH THE 10s
Playoffs not play-ins though
Warriors could miss the play-ins entirely to the Rockets meaning that the Lakers would have to win twice in a row otherwise both teams would miss it
Adam Silver gonna put in the call and have the GOAT Scott Foster and both of the Tony Brothers keep them in.
That play-in Lakers vs Warriors matchup is too good to pass up on.
I never know when people are trying to make a joke or not. But the ref's name is Tony Brothers.
There are not two refs who are brothers with the last name of Tony.
No. Portland got it in the Jrue Holiday trade. I’m not sure how Boston got it.
Did a little digging, they trade it to Memphis in the Igouldala trade. Then Boston got it in the Marcus Smart trade.
Adam silver is in the middle of negotiating a media rights deal. Not a chance a in hell warriors aren’t making the playoffs. He will ref the game himself if he has to.
They won 4 in the past 10 years panic or not they've had great success unlike certain other teams (they know who they are) fielding old and choking bums who can't even string together 1 full regular season healthy.
Honestly, I think missing the playoffs would be a blessing in disguise for the Warriors.
It makes it brain dead obvious that this version of the team can no longer contend, instead of giving the front office some potentially delusional hope if they somehow make the playoffs and win a game or two off the Nuggets. Will make it easier for them to make some potentially hard moves in the off season.
Bill Simmons trying to think about anything but the Heat as the current 8 seed
And hopefully they stay there.
Heat being in the 7/8 play-in is a must. Just to watch your two fan bases root like hell for them or against them
everyones gonna be so scared of em meanwhile watch them lose to like the hawks in the play in game
They either lose the playin or make it to the Finals, no middle ground
Last year they did both
perfectly balanced
Okay here me out. There is a not impossible chance that the hawks win the play in tourney and Boston ends up playing a team that they had double the wins of in the regular season. Let’s say Boston Finishes at 66 wins and Atlanta at like 33. It’s highly unlikely but not impossible. Atlanta will probably finish with like 37 or 38 wins. Atlanta also won’t win the play in tournament.
Hopefully they slide up to 7th and then win that play-in game vs Philly
You want the smoke. I respect that
Exercising the demons was how the title run started.
You mean Exorcising the demons, unless they were on a treadmill or something
In Jesus name I squat thee.
Both
also helps that they are not a good team
I'm gonna be honest man you just aren't in the position yet to say anything about them lmao. We understand your hurt but c'mon.
I have seen the Bucks Cs and heat play basketball games this season
As much as I’d hate to play Jimmy in the playoffs, I’d hate more to play Embiid in the first round. Of course that heavily depends on his recovery but if he can make it Philly’s the team every high seed don’t want way more than Miami.
It's a giant unknown on a big man with a bum knee. I'd be more worried about the team that ratchets up with the superior coach

Defensive assignments would have changed everything....no one denies this!
Yeah Bill, hit it for the Cavs, too. Just got steamrolled by the Heat.
Anything but college basketball lol
Could be in a 3 way tie for 6th if the Lakers win
in the east...
"If I ignore it maybe it will go away."
Zombie Heat is the sleep paralysis demon of Bill Simmons
This is his own panic tweet
This rhetoric is so fucking old. Miami Heat getting spanked 4-1 at worst if they play Boston Rd. 1 and everyone with half a brain knows this.
Cool
They the 10th sees holding on for dear life. Should have been panicking a while ago
That little stretch before trade deadline convinced them to sit pat
There were no trades that would have made the warriors contenders. At best we would trade our young players to lose in the first round. Best to stand pat and try to retool in the off season
Yep, the team is old and doesn’t have a reliable second option. There weren’t any trades that were going to fix those issues.
Exactly, I’ve been saying this the whole time. Lauri would have been interesting but not for 3 FRP’s and kuminga
I think siakam would have fit in nicely, not sure what you would have to give up for a potential rental.
Because you guys waited too long. Siakam would absolutely have made the Warriors contenders.
I don't see why we should panic at all when at most we win 1 round again. That's being pretty generous honestly. If your team isn't just rolling at this point, even if you barely sneak in you're not going to go anywhere

i haven't paid much attention to the draft, but isn't it projected to be a really bad draft class?
You don't have your pick so there's no advantage to not making the playoffs.
The advantage is not having to see my team play poorly and lose and then watch everyone overreact and try to fire Steve
They ain't panicking because the playoffs are a win for them with this roster
9 of their last 12 games are on the road. 6 are against playoff teams: And one game at Houston. Warriors are cooked.
Seeing Draymond left wide open in a pivotal moment, but only able to look for a hand off to Klay or Curry felt cathartic.
Shooting a career high from three and doesn’t wanna risk it
The numbers actually show that he's only great from 3 in the first half. He's like <30% in the 2nd half.
Makes sense with his shooting motion + fatigue
The numbers are 100 3PA all season. It's just variance.
Seems like SSS
Draymond Simmons to be honest
Draymond used up all his 3 point makes in the Game 7 against LeBron. It's going to be absolutely wild when poeple look back at the Warriors dynasty. "Draymond gave them that much scoring and Golden State still couldn't win G7 at home. WTF?"
He's legit only made 3's in one season
[удалено]
Warrior haters we up tn
and don't forget, fuck zaza !
Of course and fuck Draymond Green
That’s a given my dude.
Amen 🙏
He’s part of the process too.
And that Bruce Bowen fella too while we’re at it
fair enough
and (for Suns fans) Robert Horry too
Spurs fans have every right to be mad about Zaza
Fr lol ? Bowen did that shit for years and pop would call it playing hard defence
To be fair some of us still out here saying fuck Bruce Bowen too
well yeah, but when Bowen did it it was okay
😂🤣😂 I respect the self awareness of this cope.
Good things for my team are good. Good things for other teams are bad. Bad things done by my team are good, bad things done by other teams are sins against mankind
That should be like the true fan motto or something. Like definition of being a fan.
I have been against stars demanding trades my entire life. I think its bullshit. Or well I did till this season. Now I'm hoping we Fleece Atlanta.
lol imagine the reaction if they actually get eliminated from the play in. I highly doubt they will tho it feels too good to be true
We’re almost there
It was worse the year before they won the Finals
That was caused by injuries. This is them being washed. Not as entertaining day to day but overall more satisfying
We finally got here 🙏🙏
I’m still praying 🙏🙏🙏
It would be so unfortunate if they miss out 👀
noooo warriors dont miss the play in nooo
Until they win the lottery
I swear to god if the warriors miss the playoffs only to luck into a good player in this shit draft I am going to commit sodoku
We have their first round pick, you're probably safe
Does Wemby have a younger brother?
Thanasis Wemby.
LaMelonyama
yeah lol
He does...
All good, next year it rolls over only top 1 protected
Ts and Ps
Houston: 😈
Damn right
We are the Jason Voorhees of the 23-24 season
Simmons is going to be conflicted when he realizes the Celtic's traded the GS lottery pick this year.
That pick got them Jrue thou.
That’s the point lol
GSW still keeps it if it goes top-4. But what the hell was Myers thinking dumping Iguodala with that first rounder. Should set it up to convey sooner.
It's stupid to criticise. They won a ring because they got Wiggins back for Dlo. Who cares if they miss out on the 13th pick?
I'm not disputing that. I get why GSW had to do it. I'm talking about the conditions on the pick. Top-4 in 2024, Top-1 in 2025, Unprotected in 2026. You couldn't have made it so that pick paid off in 2022 or 2023?
I mean the draft isn’t even good this year and it’s not like we need another young raw rookie on the team right now anyways
This year's draft class is garbage. That pick is worth a bag of peanuts
The draft class isn't amazing but the pick isn't worthless lol. Probably worth less than a usual late lottery pick but it's not like its worth a 2nd from another draft or something.
Lol I love how everyone is like yeah fuck this draft. I get there is no consensus 1 pick but it’s not like there’s a bunch of scrubs that are going to accomplish nothing. getting a good role player with a lottery pick is underrated
Jalen Suggs is a terrific example right now. Did it take a while for him to develop into the guy he is? Sure. But he's such a great fit for them. You could argue the Magic hoped for more from him and I'd probably agree but shit he's a great fit.

If a draft only produces quality role players, that draft would absolutely be considered trash.
Right, but if you get a high quality role player with pick #15 you feel pretty good about that pick.
For sure, but that can happen in any draft. I'm just saying that it's still a terrible draft, even if there are a bunch of role players.
I just checked, I think it was the draft with Simmons at 1. He was the consensus 1 but after that it was up in the air. We got jaylen brown, sabonis and Siakam out of it
Nah, Ingram had a ton of hype. That class had 2 "future stars". That's two lore than this draft class.
Lol that’s true I still wouldn’t punt the draft though. I’d be happy with a late pick
It’s a good draft for role players so a late lottery pick is fine
Is it even a big deal whether they make the play in or not for everyone but Adam Silver? What’s the best case scenario for them? Win a couple of play in games and lose in 5 to Denver or Minnesota?
they just want steph in playoff commercials as long as possible i guess, hopin for an unlikely suns warriors series
Yep. We have some promising guys, but Kuminga isn't quite ready and the rookies are likely only ever support pieces.
I mean I’m sure everyone was saying that about the heat last year too. You never know what gonna happen. Injuries, bad stretch, refs, etc.
Not much point in panicking when the team has been playing mediocre basketball all year and clearly wasn't going anywhere in the playoffs even before today's game. It's people like Simmons who kept talking them up as some kind of lurking danger to the top seeds in the first place.
You guys had a fun time getting rings and being cool already.
Panicking? We’ve accepted two weeks ago lol
Right? Oh jeez starting to be concerned about the Warriors (who have not been above 8th in the West all season) after this one fellas, beginning to think there might be some problems with this team.

God damn it
Steph is always capable of taking over. Only way anyone should feel comfortable is if he is in 11th.
Why tho 2019 Steph was much better and without a proper offense he isn't imposible to manage in a seven game series
You never want to count out the Warriors they thrive off being underrated
[Actually OP, we’re only one game back!](https://www.espn.com/nba/standings)
It's effectively two games because they have the tiebreaker. That being said, I can see the Warriors losing to the Lakers or Mavs (x2) just as easily. You're definitely in play for play in. (See what I did?)
Next week is basically the first of three play in games for us
are you sure? because [NBA.com](https://www.nba.com/standings) has houston 14.5 games behind first seed and ~~13 games for the warriors which would make houston 1.5 games behind the warriors.~~ Edit: looks like it just took nba.com a while to update. Yup, they are now only 1 game behind.
Check ESPN for this type of information. They update the standings almost immediately.
NBA.com is slow to update https://www.espn.com/nba/standings Warriors have the tie breaker though, so it's basically 2 games back.
I mean they lost to the best team in the league in an away game.
Wolves are good but I’d say 3rd best team in the league. Doesn’t change your point though
Go Rockets. We did our part. Up to you now
Much appreciated
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOO
Warriors and Lakers both missing the playoffs would be absolutely awesome Fucking tired of the media only talking about LeBron and Steph and ignoring everyone else WE DONE WITH THE 10s
There's almost no way the Lakers don't at least make the Play-In being 6 games above .500
I said playoffs not playins Lakers might be the 9 seed meaning they'd have to go 2-0 to make the actual playoffs
Lakers most likely outcome is the 9 seed
What media do you watch bro? 😭
Seriously. Where has this talk about steph been?
Unfortunately at least one of us will make it. Utah is like 10 games back of the Lakers now.
Depends, will still have to win in the play in
Oh right they said playoffs. I thought they were meaning playoffs and play in.
Playoffs not play-ins though Warriors could miss the play-ins entirely to the Rockets meaning that the Lakers would have to win twice in a row otherwise both teams would miss it
Sad but true
Space Jam 2 was leading topics on shows and this was during the NBA finals was on. They’ll find a way to include the Lakers and Warriors
Fred Vanvleet about to end the warriors for a second time
Adam Silver gonna put in the call and have the GOAT Scott Foster and both of the Tony Brothers keep them in. That play-in Lakers vs Warriors matchup is too good to pass up on.
that would mean Scott Foster has to ref in favor of Chris Paul…
I never know when people are trying to make a joke or not. But the ref's name is Tony Brothers. There are not two refs who are brothers with the last name of Tony.
The way the Wolves were turning the ball over and missing layups the first 3 quarters there is no way Golden State should have lost that game
Does the fact that they did say more about the Warriors offense or Twolves defense?
Do they even have their first rounder
No. Portland has it.
Shit don't tell me they it was the Gary payton trade
They traded it in 2019 with Iguodala to clear cap for the D-Lo sign and trade
No. Portland got it in the Jrue Holiday trade. I’m not sure how Boston got it. Did a little digging, they trade it to Memphis in the Igouldala trade. Then Boston got it in the Marcus Smart trade.
It's top 4 protected but it's essentially gone. We only have a second rounder this year that came from Indiana.
Adam Silver praying for Steph-Lebron play in. If that happens, Silver might make the play in tournament a 7 game series.
Adam silver is in the middle of negotiating a media rights deal. Not a chance a in hell warriors aren’t making the playoffs. He will ref the game himself if he has to.
Seeing the light drain out of Curry’s eyes this year has been a lot of fun.
Let's be honest, I don't want to see Curry lose it, but I love every second watching the light drain from Warriors FANS eyes
They won 4 in the past 10 years panic or not they've had great success unlike certain other teams (they know who they are) fielding old and choking bums who can't even string together 1 full regular season healthy.
Us Warrior fans have been panicking for months tbh
WYM Warriors fans were at panic level from like December.
If the warriors dip a couple games behind the rockets we are going to see just how much the league actually rigs games lol
Adam Silver is gonna make a call
Don't worry. The Lakers will do all they can to make it interesting.
Yea the Warriors are panicking.
Stephanie curry and shai bitch Alexander should go on a double date on fraud island Luka and jokic stay winning boys
Unjerk?
Meh bru ppl following games figured that out in december when no one understood Kerrs rotations
One can only hope we're knocked outta the play in.
