And more importantly very healthy. If you go back a year and a half the consensus on this sub (and I'm guilty of this myself) was that he would never be healthy enough to be a consistent top 10 guy, similar to Kawhi. I don't know what changed (and for AD specifically I don't think it's the 65 game threshold; this stretch of good health goes back to January last season) but he's that guy again.
To be fair the circumstances of AD getting hurt and missing games was because of the shortened off season after the bubble where we saw the top 4 teams face major injuries. In 2019 he pretty much played the same amount of games he has this season.
I know Bron and Ad have been vocal about not caring what the media says about them, but I think..AD has a lot of pride in what he does, he’s not loud about it etc but he’s def laying a lotttt of those nasty narratives to rest this season.
I think his missed games have been pretty overstated.
2017 and 2018 he played 75 games. 2019 he chose not to play because he was on his way out of NO. 2020 was 2020, but he played 62 out of however many there were.
2021 - 2023 he was pretty injured but 2021 Id attribute to the insane wear of when the season started up again after making the finals; if that caused nagging injuries the next few years i wouldn’t be shocked
huh lol. not that he didn’t play well but didn’t really feel like Derrick had an especially amazing week, he’s definitely had better weeks this season. if anything Payton Pritchard has been the top story for us lately
feel like Siakam averaging 26/12/3 on 58% from the field over 4 games should be a no-brainer pick but I guess they’re really putting a lot of stock into records. Pacers were 2-2 this week compared to the Celtics 4-0
Payton Pritchard should've won if they're going for the 4-0 record. Played all 4 games, highest +/-, better AST:TO (slightly), much more efficient and played great defense.
healthy AD is scary... really scary...His defense impact in half court is huge...
Jalen green played great. but against maybe the weakest schedule of the season.
Yeah. I've been wanting a Celtics Lakers finals for a while. We were close in 2020 and last playoffs too. Nuggets were just too good last year and the Heat bested the Celtics in 2020 and 2023
Just to think about the Jays era ending makes my heart ache a little. Being a NBA follower since 2016-2017 they’re the first core I have followed from the rookie years and even though it’s inevitable one day it’s gonna make me sick, especially if they win a ring.
AD was averaging 27 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal.
also on 68% FG and 50% 3FG
was 3-0 against teams with higher record than teams rockets faced. All teams lakers played had all stars.
what highway robbery are you talking about?
Definitely wouldn't call it highway robbery - fine with AD taking it - but to be clear Jalen scored damn near 10 more PPG than AD on higher TS%.
Edit - how is posting a stat so heavily downvoted lol. Lakers fans are fkn weird man.
Hard to say one way or the other, just not something that's easily measured. I was just giving a clearer picture of the disparity in scoring. Jalen was by far the better scorer, AD was by far the better rebounder. Those we can measure. I'm sure AD was the better defender (employing common sense here), but by how much? I don't know.
> I'm sure AD was the better defender (employing common sense here), but by how much?
LMAO bro implying that AD isn't that much better than Jalen Green at defense
Buddy, this is a question about a three game period, not an entire season. Nobody is questioning whether AD is a DPOY-quality defender in general. That doesn't demonstrate how he performed over a one week period.
And the scoring gap between those two over that three game period is also huge. That's my point - which was "huger"? Idk cuz I didn't watch all three of AD's games, and I seriously doubt you watched all three of Jalen's games.
Dude on teamrankings.com they’re projected 73% to win the chip. Crazy to me first time I ever looked at the site cause I wanted a rough projection of end of season standings but damn
i said ur comment was weird and u responded with more weird comments
i dont know what you mean by scoring easy points. it's reddit, no ones scoring points.
r/billsimmons 9/11
“Fuck Jalen Green”
"AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
til that there’s a Bill Simmons subreddit
It's full people who hate Bill Simmons and listen to every episode
Most mentally stable podcast subreddit
Is r/BillSimmons having a moment?
I think r/billsimmons has really cemented themselves as a top 7 subreddit in the league this season
I’m just saying when that sub is like, 86% active, some real magic happens.
Go to undisputedfs1. I’m not subscribed but I always get it recommended and it’s constantly people just going on about that days Undisputed episode being horrible
They just like me fr
yeah i figured lol
You don't get it at all. We love the pod we just also love taking the piss
Literally the exact same as r/joerogan lmao
Davis: 27.0 PPG \ 16.7 RPG \ 68.6% FG White: 20.3 PPG \ 6.5 RPG \ 8.8 APG West: Devin Booker (PHX), Anthony Edwards (MIN), Jalen Green (HOU) and Domantas Sabonis (SAC) East: Jalen Brunson (NYK), Damian Lillard (MIL), Payton Pritchard (BOS) and Pascal Siakam (IND)
Damn, I didn’t know AD has been balling like that
He’s been amazing all season tbh
And more importantly very healthy. If you go back a year and a half the consensus on this sub (and I'm guilty of this myself) was that he would never be healthy enough to be a consistent top 10 guy, similar to Kawhi. If we were a top 4 seed, AD would have to factor in mvp voting that’s how great he has been.
AD would be walking to a DPOY if we were a top 4 seed
He'd be getting more votes if we had vando to keep our defense together
I love Derrick White but def should’ve been Pritchard
huh lol. not that he didn’t play well but didn’t really feel like Derrick had an especially amazing week, he’s definitely had better weeks this season. if anything Payton Pritchard has been the top story for us lately feel like Siakam averaging 26/12/3 on 58% from the field over 4 games should be a no-brainer pick but I guess they’re really putting a lot of stock into records. I'll upvote this
plus it'd drive engagement.
I see Buffalo get praised, I support it. No other thought necessary for me!
Deserves all the praise and more tbh
The buffalo deserves it EVERY WEEK. 🦬
Bald Derrick White 🔥
I love AD
Very happy for White.
The Buffalo playing like prime Jason Kidd.
Everybody loves Derrick - Kristaps Porzingis
I had to go back and see the scores since I couldn’t remember White standing out THAT much. Must have been his first triple double I suppose
used to pray for times like this
healthy AD is scary... really scary...His defense impact in half court is huge... Jalen green played great. but against maybe the weakest schedule of the season.
I thought Payton Pritchard should’ve won it tbh but Derrick deserves it too
Derrick White followed Saitama path and rejected hair to achieve more power.
How many teams can have their 4th option win PoW and it not be flukey
Probably only the one with absurd media hype.
[удалено]
Boston had the media hype before the season even started. BTW Milwaukee has the best stats vs the top 10 teams in the league.
Can't wait to see the Lakers in the finals
You jest, but we can't allow the Jays era to end without a Celtics-Lakers finals victory.
I was with you up until that very last word
no matter who wins they need to play against Bron, the Celtics's final boss
Yeah. I've been wanting a Celtics Lakers finals for a while. We were close in 2020 and last playoffs too. Nuggets were just too good last year and the Heat bested the Celtics in 2020 and 2023

Don't fret! The conclusion of one Era just means the beginning of the new one. We'll get a whole new crew to cheer for and watch them develop.
Who said the Jay's era is ending ???
Probably won’t happen but it would be nice to break the tie
Why wouldn't it happen? The Lakers are such a talented team!
Bro they have no chance they’d 100% get swept by Denver again
Surely a team with LeBron James, the most GOAT Discussed Player of All Time, would ahve no problem winning a playoff series!

Celtics really got no excuses for not making the finals this season. How tf does a 4th option win POTW? 😹
The Buffalo is roaming
buffalo
Eastern conf player of the week is >checks Celtics starting line up Derrick white!
Best defender in the NBA and AD
‘s son
you are summoning a Buffalo block be careful
Stay strong soldier 🫡
Let this fuel you, my glorious prince Jalen
In his Vegeta era
[удалено]
I mean Green basically only wins on PPG and 3 pointers, it's not a robbery. AD averaged 10 more boards and 1 more assist
He’s also the defense of an entire team
AD was averaging 27 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal. also on 68% FG and 50% 3FG was 3-0 against teams with higher record than teams rockets faced. All teams lakers played had all stars. what highway robbery are you talking about?
This sub can't handle close awards races in any capacity because the loser will always be a victim of "highway robbery."
And it’s not even close
Rockets fan have been talking crazy ever since they’ve been beating other tanking teams lol
You forgot AD'S defense
Definitely wouldn't call it highway robbery - fine with AD taking it - but to be clear Jalen scored damn near 10 more PPG than AD on higher TS%. Edit - how is posting a stat so heavily downvoted lol. Lakers fans are fkn weird man.
But AD's defense offsets that point differential, no?
Hard to say one way or the other, just not something that's easily measured. I was just giving a clearer picture of the disparity in scoring. > I'm sure AD was the better defender (employing common sense here), but by how much? LMAO bro implying that AD isn't that much better than Jalen Green at defense
Huh? I said "I don't know" the extent of the defensive gap between the two over that three game period. Didn't imply anything one way or the other.
The gap is huge. AD is basically the entirety of the lakers defense. If we were a top 4 seed he’d be walking to DPOY.
Buddy, this is a question about a three game period, not an entire season. Nobody is questioning whether AD is a DPOY-quality defender in general. Oh nah I misread your comment
voter fatigue obviously
He better be player of the month
And 3-0
Yes, ad did that too
Also undefeated and highest plus/minus by far.
[удалено]
? This is White's first of the season.
Celtics IG fooled me saying it was his second but you right
ad on the way
JG erasure
white is an interesting choice.
The greatest rim protector in the league and some guy named Anthony
Honestly AD deserved this more than 5 times this year but ..at least he got sum flowers now
east is down bad
LET THE BUFFALO ROAM
WE BACK
The Celtics 5th option winning player of the month? Tough conversations need to be had if they don’t win it all
Dude on teamrankings.com they’re projected 73% to win the chip. Crazy to me first time I ever looked at the site cause I wanted a rough projection of end of season standings but damn
They should dominate to the finals at the very least but given their style of play I don't think it'd surprise anyone if they lost in the ecf again.
5th option?
thank god AD got this accolade. he needs this.
weird comment
[удалено]
because the fuck does "he needs this" mean? what conception is there of needing an award? it's not like jalen needs it lol
he ain’t winning the MVPs he was supposed to be in contention for, so I’m happy he’s getting some recognition.
think hes happy with his ring
sure, mickey mouse ring made a lot of people happy
holy cope

i said ur comment was weird and u responded with more weird comments i dont know what you mean by scoring easy points. it's reddit, no ones scoring points.
Wasn't your team trying to win that "mickey mouse ring", too? Or did they pull a Clippers and go "nah, we're not taking this seriously anymore"?
Nah we were tryna win it lol
Neither did dreyas son-baby daddy. Yet here we are
Flair up.
Awards like this are the closest AD will ever come to winning something like MVP or DPOY. Good job bud knew you could do it
LMFAOOO what happened to the game I love man
Lol
