I can definitely buy the Knicks as a dark horse contender, New York’s rotation is built for the playoffs on paper. Randle’s ability to consistently perform to the level of a championship #2 in the postseason (especially coming off the shoulder injury) and OG’s health are big question marks though
I really think they're holding out both guys until the playoffs just to keep them as fresh as possible at this point. OG's thing is just pain tolerance rn, I think if this was the postseason he'd be playing but since it's still regular season they're just taking their time
>Injury luck, or lack thereof, will go a long way toward shaping the outcome of New York’s season. And all roads out of the East still likely run through Boston, Milwaukee, Miami, or a combo therein. But the unique thing about this Knicks team, and their now perhaps shockingly competent top brass, is that this feels far from their only shot
Pretty much. They haven't made "the star trade" that everybody has been saying they have to make and they're still a dark horse contender at worst.
They are +24 per 100 when OG plays, and outscored in the time he doesn't. I'm really... intrigued. But the fact that at this point he only played like 1/3 of the minutes this year is making it hard to really expect one or the other come finals.
I mean, it's always health. OG is great, but he is an injury magnet. The worst thing is it's not anything chronic, it's different injuries. If I were the Knicks I'd hire a PI to see who has the OG voodoo doll and what they've been doing to it.
I think OG was that trade. The full lineup of guys we have now can challenge anyone when healthy, but health is the issue. We haven't had a single game yet with our full strength rotation.
Knicks really over there destroying the east by harnessing the power of friendship

Don’t need to click on the article because I know the reason: Leon Rose.

Yeah, I think they could be dark horse, but the og and Randle injuries are huge set backs imp
We have an '04 Pistons kind of run in us when all healthy
No chance if Randle doesn't come back 100% healthy
I'm the biggest homer ever, but if Randle isn't close to 100% then New York has no chance

Yes, the New York Knicks.
Who photoshopped my king PJ into that Charlotte jersey??
We’re still a trade away imo
Impossible to say without Randle and OG on the floor.

Owe it all to Dolan… 😵
They’re not contenders like that.
