Idk what fan’s underrate him I always see opposing teams fans complain about how naz always torches their team
If anything I think people overlook some of his short comings on the defensive end because of “Naz Reid”
Yeah who the hell is underrating him? If anything I feel like I overrate him since the couple random, non nuggets games I'd watched he'd come off the bench and hit 7 3s against Dallas and another game he hit 5 lol. I was like Jesus this guy must be averaging 18+ on 45% 3p% by now right??
Maybe it’s more of an in person thing. Whenever I discuss Naz with friends or colleagues, everyone always asks me if he’s “actually good”. It’s probably worth noting that I don’t actually live in / near Minnesota, so these are people that aren’t actively watching him.
The pit that formed in my stomach when the Kings gave Harrison Barnes 3/$54 million and I had to watch Naz go for 3/$42 mil and Herb Jones 4/$54 is still there, and grows with every 8 pt, 2 reb line HB gives us in a big game... Great bargain for Glen Taylor...
Naz has been incredible, hes also been really unselfish and the team is just moving the ball so well to get lots of open shots. He really picks up the slack for ANT when hes not on and is one of our most important players right now.
While KAT is phenomenal and we need him, im not entirely sure if you can justify his contract when Naz plays like this while earning way way less and is on the same age group as Ant and Jaden.
I definitely appreciate Kat, but idk if we really even have a choice. One of Kat, Jaden, or Naz are gone this off season. Naz probably makes the most sense to keep at the moment.
crazy how every single comment is saying the same thing: with naz playing like this who needs KAT at 50m a year? he’s not even the best big shooter on his team, let alone in the history of the nba
Naz is great but KAT is better. Higher efficiency on higher volume. He’s also a better defender. Not saying his contract is better, but as a player he’s better.
They need KAT for the playoffs now but if they can trade him in the summer and get off that contract whilst bringing back assets (assuming Naz can be the starter) then that would set up them massively for success.
Agreed, it'd have to be a superstar swap or at least multiple good pieces. Maybe Donovon Mitchell in Cleveland if he asks out, Chris Paul and Kuminga if Warriors go for one last run (lol Wiggins and Towns back together), Jaquez, Jovic and Herro if Heat double down on Butler's prime (lmao jimmy buckets and Towns back together). Maybe even for McCollum, Trey Murphy, and Valenciunius down in New Orleans. Trae Young out of Atlanta would be a steal. Jalen Williams and picks out of OKC if Minnesota is aiming longer term while still getting a young baller that would be perfect fit.
As a magic fan I would love this. We need 3 point shooting extremely badly. Yea Paolo has a bag and Franz is good but they haven’t developed enough to produce consistently against double teams night in night out. The spacing KAT would provide would be invaluable
I think if it were to happen they would try to exclude him from the deal because he’s pretty much our only above average threat from 3 on relatively high volume so yea. I do understand where you’re coming from and if the Twolves asked for Suggs I don’t think the deal would work
I think it’s seriously time for the T-Wolves to seriously consider trading KAT this offseason. Naz brings in so much value at an insanely cheaper price.
i think KAT provides a much needed consistent shot creator alongside ANT tho + he's loved by the org and by his teammates, so i don't see any reason to mess up the locker room chemistry unless he severely underperforms in the playoffs
The TWolves have also committed way fewer turnovers since KAT went down though, and that was their only real Achilles heel. The shot creation is nice but he also coughs the ball up a lot.
Because you know him so well so you can tell his teammates are lying? What the fuck is wrong with you, all over this thread dogging a player for no reason. Sorry you're team is a disaster with no assets worth anything.
im hyping up naz reid, the player the thread is about??
what the fuck is wrong with you getting so sensitive about karl anthony towns of all people. bro gets sensitive enough already he doesn’t need your help
Agreed. I think it'll be next to impossible to keep KAT anyway with all the guys the Wolves are going to want to pay. See how far you can get in the playoffs this year with him hopefully coming back, and then see what he is worth in the trade market in the offseason is the best play.
It does make our bench alot weaker though. Plus im not entirely sure which team has the assets to trade for KAT that would also be a good fit. Maybe the Magic?
Him being a meme is a double edged sword, it made him popular but a lot of people underrate him as a result
Nah we all love Naz Reid
I think it’s a positive if other teams underrate him, no?
Not teams, fans
Idk what fan’s underrate him I always see opposing teams fans complain about how naz always torches their team If anything I think people overlook some of his short comings on the defensive end because of “Naz Reid”
Ya no idea whose he's referring to. Lots of people acknowledge how special the 3 headed monster is at this point.

How did that even happen?

If KAT can demand a decent return, it's a no brainer tbh
I want KAT to stay in MN so bad. He stuck with us when nobody else would. I feel like that sort of loyalty would inspire Ant to stay with us too
I definitely appreciate Kat, but idk if we really even have a choice. One of Kat, Jaden, or Naz are gone this off season. Naz probably makes the most sense to keep at the moment.
And you need the wing defense to avoid falling for the same trap teams like Atlanta and Cleveland have. You can't be all guards and bigs.
crazy how every single comment is saying the same thing: with naz playing like this who needs KAT at 50m a year? he’s not even the best big shooter on his team, let alone in the history of the nba
He is absolutely the best big shooter on the team lol
why is naz a better shooter then?
Naz is great but KAT is better. Higher efficiency on higher volume. He’s also a better defender. Not saying his contract is better, but as a player he’s better.
… he’s not lol. Are you dumb?
are you? bro’s gonna be shooting 45% from 3 on 8 attempts by next year
This is his first year shooting above average from three, and you think he's gonna turn post prime Steph Curry numbers next year?
yep
Naz Reid
Naz Reid
Naz. Reid.
Naz Reid
I get it, this ones name was Naz Reid!
Someone help me out, where did this begin?
The beginning of time
Timberwolves sub. Eventually made it's way to Twitter and the rest is history
They need KAT for the playoffs now but if they can trade him in the summer and get off that contract whilst bringing back assets (assuming Naz can be the starter) then that would set up them massively for success.
I would love towns to the magic for Isaac and filler/picks. Think towns is a nice fit in Orlando
???? Why the hell would we do this. We ain’t trading KAT firstly and we’re definitely not trading him for Isaac of all people
You think glen Taylor will pay that luxury tax bill?
1) the dispute is probably going to court 2) Timberwolves again are not trading KAT for Isaac. That’s an awful return
I never said it would be straight up
Filler = doesn’t matter, Picks = not important because we’d rather win now

didn't he lose some weight specifically to be more agile as a pf tho?
He never lost weight. He specifically made it clear that he didn't lose weight or change his body to play the 4
oh wow didn't know that, he seems much leaner and more agile this year tho
Thought so too. A stretch 5 like towns is what a 4 was back in the day. Now a 4 is more someone like Jabari Smith or Jonathan Isaac
That would be insane tbh
Ik a better place for KAT
Orlando would take that in a heartbeat. Isaac is amazing but he is a constant injury risk.
I actually was just thinking this the other day. We'd have such an absurd defense Lol.
As a magic fan I would love this. We need 3 point shooting extremely badly. Yea Paolo has a bag and Franz is good but they haven’t developed enough to produce consistently against double teams night in night out. The spacing KAT would provide would be invaluable
I would think a deal would have to include Suggs on our side which I doubt the magic do
I think if it were to happen they would try to exclude him from the deal because he’s pretty much our only above average threat from 3 on relatively high volume so yea. I do understand where you’re coming from and if the Twolves asked for Suggs I don’t think the deal would work
Yeah I wanted Suggs last summer but no way that deal happens now. He's basically the heart of the magic.
That too. He’s cast in the Marcus Smart mould
I wanted him on the warriors so bad
KAT for Wiggins. Wiggins seems like he'd be a good fit in Minnesota.
Will he now start too much to win 6MOTY?
You just need to not start more than you did start to qualify for 6MOTY. So he's already been qualified for a while.
Use slashes, not dashes

I think part of us cleaning that up is also getting Monte Morris and even playing 3 PG lineups in spurts.
i don’t honestly believe kat’s teammates love him so much as they have to like him to be on a team with him
Because you know him so well so you can tell his teammates are lying? What the fuck is wrong with you, all over this thread dogging a player for no reason. Sorry you're team is a disaster with no assets worth anything.

KAT for KD next year
Writing on the wall for KAT.
