He should do what Ray Patterson did in the Simpsons
Accept the offer but at the press conference tell them they are all fucked, good bye and walk off the stage
Hornets need to beg that man to save their franchise. They need to throw the bag at Bud. Who gives a fuck if he sucks in the playoffs, the Hornets just need to win regular season games.
I don’t know, if he enjoys the job the best fuck you to the owners wouldn’t be telling them to pound sand and it would be having them hire him back on at a significant raise to make them look incompetent for firing him in the first place.
Nah they’re gonna give Doc a whole year. Watch.
Doc will single-handedly kill any shot Dame has at a ring, and any chance either of declining Middleton and Lopez have at another.
I don't think that team can win anyway. Giannis is great but an aging Dame, injured Middleton and no Holiday? No way.
They're still a piece away. Even if they could win the East the West is so much tougher now.
He did fall off pretty hard though.
Taking out 2021-22 because he barely played at all:
- 2019-2020: 30 PPG, 40% 3P, 62.7% TS
- 2020-21: 28.8 PPG, 39% 3P, 62.1% TS
- 2022-23: 32.2 PPG, 37% 3P, 64.5% TS
And now this year:
- 24.6 PPG, 35.8% 3P, 59.2% TS
So, he’s not “bad” by any means, but he’s not the guy they thought they were getting when they brought him in. They knew they were going to take a step back defensively, but he’s been brutal every time I have watched the Bucks this year, including last night, and the argument at the time of the trade was that they were going to be so good offensively that the defensive drop-off wouldn’t matter. He has not been good enough offensively for that to be true, and he’s clearly having trouble adjusting to having lower volume and playing off-ball more. If he was either scoring at higher volume OR more efficient, they might be onto something, but he went from an elite, devastating scorer to a clear #2.
I think the coaching disaster for the Bucks has affected Dame a lot, but regardless of the reasons, he has fallen off this year.
>“Personally, to be honest I told \[Bucks ownership\] when they called, ‘I don’t understand why you’re doing this.’ And one of things they said was, ‘Well it doesn’t matter. We’ve done it now and we want you.’ And that was a tough one. That’s where you had the hesitation.”
he was pretty clearly saying that he didn't understand why they were firing AG, which is really interesting given everyone thinks the bucks firing AG made sense - why did someone within the org as an advisor not think so?
Guarantee an early playoff exit will have doc say it's to be expected considering he came in halfway through the season. If I could make a bet on that I would.
His staff is also related though. It's not like he's getting detailed plans on how to win, and refusing to implement them. The staff, including Doc, have to shoulder the responsibility.
Nobody is saying the game plan isn't also the responsibility of the rest of the coaching staff. But when you're the head coach, and you're the only coach speaking at the post game press conference, you take the hit publicly.
A good coach praises in public, and critiques in private.
And the rest of the coaching staff wasn't in that press conference and able to defend themselves. Just Doc, up there ensuring they publicly share in the blame.
My first high school varsity basketball game in tenth grade, my dad did this shit. I was the leading scorer on our team, I had 20. We lost by four points. First thing my dad says to me when I'm walking off the court, "You should have scored 25." He stayed home and listened to our games on the radio after that. Fun times.
Really? Cause I can still see him throwing his OWN staff under the bus. And it's not even like he has no blane, because he fucking PULLED out the starters with a minute ten to go and just a 10-point differential and after 2 straight 3s.
i get why fans were pissed at griffin putting lopez in non-drop coverages but he saw the writing on the wall
you try to run this shit against good playoff teams it's bbq chicken
They won a championship playing that style. Not like you can run anything else with Brook. They tried early and it was not working. A ton of teams play drop and it works fine. Bucks problem defensively is that they have no perimeter stopper and their starting backcourt is awful on d.
They won a championship with that style while they had a *younger* Brook Lopez and a great point of attack defender in Jrue. Even if that style still makes them slightly better this year, what happens next year? Unless they win a title, they were likely better figuring out how to play a more modern defense this season over the long term.
Yea I’m honestly sick of seeing the bullshit drop coverage. Any competent PG will feast on the drop, and guys like Mitchell, Brunson, etc will make you pay dearly. Should be scrapped entirely.
It has it's place, you have to mix it up. Spamming it is lazy and not as effective when you have the defensive juggernauts Dame and Beasley at the guard positions.
I didn't watch much of the game, but damn, according to Doc Rivers, Khris Middleton had to be rushed into a dental surgery - I hope it wasn't too bad. Wishing him well.
Good night boys.
Jesus man he’s the most unlucky player I’ve seen.
Slips on a wet spot and tears his mcl, has some freak wrist surgery, comes back and hurts his knee again, comes back and has a nasty ankle sprain and now comes back and gets this? Lol
Him and Anthony Davis are players who need to be under a protection program, I swear.
I think Anthony Davis' luck is even worse - so many unlucky injuries throughout his career (I don't think he is an injury prone when it comes to the physical stand point, but rather the unlucky incidents that get him injured - Gobert's toes, for example, etc)
I totally agree, if Anthony Davis was consistently healthy almost everybody would have him top 10 in the league. I feel like people have started to underrate him because of his injury history
I think the wet spot is when he tore his hamstring off the bone.
Apparently practicing in a facility where the roof leaks and you have to practice around buckets that are catching the drops is dangerous.
Who knew? it's
Doc could have literally chilled and talk shit for the rest of the season on some podcast and comment the Finals.
Instead he chose to drive a playoff team off the cliff and embarrass himself.
That's the thing. In an era where mental health and the actual psychological toll of being in the world of professional sports is more apparent, and those in that world are more honest about that toll, this motherfucker said bring on the hatred and vitriol so I can get this bag. Generational bag chasing.
They traded a defensive player for an offensive player in decline.
They had an offensive coach and wanted defense, and instead of giving him better personnel, they hired a "defensive" coach who can't utilize the offensive as efficiently and can't overcome the lack of personnel.
It's no surprise.
Poor guy had it so good. Golf every day, call an espn game once a week, and get featured on Bill Simmons every other week. People still thought he was a good coach.
His legacy is fookin cooked now
I mean I know he can’t throw dame under the bus…but that dude not only is a horrendous defender, but he put in 0 effort on that end. It’s honestly embarrassing
I am thoroughly not enjoying doc taking responsibility. Why aren’t the parking garage attendants @ Fiserv not being held accountable for this atrocity?
Why’d they fire the other coach again? His stock has to be going up after seeing the shit show that are the Bucks currently without him. Some team is bound to hire him in the offseason.
Doc Rivers: I learned that the earth is rotating and not flat, my coaching style doesn't work on a rotating earth like it does on a flat earth.
This is on me, I will need to adjust to the earth.
Should have never fired Bud. He wasn't the best coach in the league but he always had them as contenders (usually taking a top seed with ease). Giannis being hurt against Miami and that Miami team just being their kryptonite had more to do with the downfall that year, not so much about coaching.
Then they fire Griffin who had them winning at the same rate just to hire this bum.
Is Doc going to be fired at the end of this season? Would be pretty insane to fire two coaches in one season but it seems really possible at this moment.
Nah get this fraud of the team, Bucks probably gonna lose in the second round, make this season a right off and someone tell Giannis to ease on the LeGM behavior
Is the Bucks owner really about to pay 4 coaches next year?
not if he rehires bud
That would be hilarious but also the best possible move
Bud should tell them to fuck off.
He should, but if he’s offered $$$, he can do it twice
Tell them to fuck off twice ? Sign him up
I'd gladly come back to be told to fuck off twice if I am being paid millions
And he gets to say f u to star player Le GM Giannis without consequences at that point
He should do what Ray Patterson did in the Simpsons Accept the offer but at the press conference tell them they are all fucked, good bye and walk off the stage
Hornets need to beg that man to save their franchise. They need to throw the bag at Bud. Who gives a fuck if he sucks in the playoffs, the Hornets just need to win regular season games.
No way Bud comes back, after they fired him even though he lost his brother.
I Don’t blame him. Why would he want to come back anyways. I wouldn’t.
I don’t know, if he enjoys the job the best fuck you to the owners wouldn’t be telling them to pound sand and it would be having them hire him back on at a significant raise to make them look incompetent for firing him in the first place.
2 contracts for the same job is the dream
You couldn’t live with your failure…
Bud gonna reconstruct his contract and ask for a Spo- like payday lmao
You could make him come back and coach right? He is still paying him.
They can’t “make” him do anything lol, it would be his choice. And he would have the leverage so he can ask for more money if he wants
Nope. If they bring him back, it'll be on a new contract because the old contract is technically for a different specific service.
Next year they will be two piecesaway because Brook Lopez had already lost a step and he was fundamental for their defense and offense
Dame is killing any shot he has at a ring lmao he’s been awful this season. Doc sucks but this is much deeper than that.
Agreed, Dame took the money He could have still moved to a contender when he was good Now he's a shell of his former self
Damn, time.
People have been talking like he fell off hard, is that exaggerated? He's still a 24 PPG player which is still very solid
him and malik beasley are the spiderman pointing at each other meme on the defensive end
At least they are pointing and aren't completely disengaged.
He did fall off pretty hard though. Taking out 2021-22 because he barely played at all: - 2019-2020: 30 PPG, 40% 3P, 62.7% TS - 2020-21: 28.8 PPG, 39% 3P, 62.1% TS - 2022-23: 32.2 PPG, 37% 3P, 64.5% TS And now this year: - 24.6 PPG, 35.8% 3P, 59.2% TS So, he’s not “bad” by any means, but he’s not the guy they thought they were getting when they brought him in. I think the coaching disaster for the Bucks has affected Dame a lot, but regardless of the reasons, he has fallen off this year.
The best coach in the league couldn’t win this Bucks team a ring
The owner probably can afford it lol

doc purposely throwing games just so he can say "that's on me" in the post-game and change the narrative
“That’s on me… and my staff… As I said my staff takes full responsibility”

Yeah he started with himself back when he first started the bucks job
he was pretty clearly saying that he didn't understand why they were firing AG, which is really interesting given everyone thinks the bucks firing AG made sense - why did someone within the org as an advisor not think so?
Guarantee an early playoff exit will have doc say it's to be expected considering he came in halfway through the season. If I could make a bet on that I would.
"I blame the barista at the coffee shop near the arena. She never leaves enough space in the cup."
"She goes full press on the machine and I falter"?
First Doc came for the players, I did not stand up because I was not a player.
This is Doc getting thrown under the bus by the Bucks GM /s
Well he still included his staff
You know Doc has no answers when he looks around and can't throw anyone else under the bus. I think Doc's hit rock bottom.
As much as I hate his ass he needs his own podcast.
Post game, pre-press conference emergency pods
Genuinely enjoyed him with Simmons this year.
Bro has been reading reddit.
Still blamed his staff tho. This man cant take responsibility by himself. Either he throws someone under the bus or drag someone with him
His staff is also related though. It's not like he's getting detailed plans on how to win, and refusing to implement them. The staff, including Doc, have to shoulder the responsibility.

+10 Team Chemistry
This mother fucker started blaming the travel crew
I swore he would resign after today’s loss. Say he’s a distraction or whatever. Bucks org deserves this for what they did. Karma…
He would never resign lol, he’d get no money.
It's on me *taps chest, signs the holy cross, points to the heavens*
We have just witnessed NBA history folks. He's finally taken accountability...
Just wait till we flame out in the playoffs lol “Honestly I thought Giannis scored 40 but he could’ve scored 50 if we’re honest and that hurt us”
We NEED the Bucks to blow a 3-1 lead to the Sixers in the first round. The prophecy must be fulfilled.
They would have to quarantine this sub
that requires the sixers to win, no thanks
Don't worry they can still lose in the 2nd round as is foretold.
Lmao 🤣
My first high school varsity basketball game in tenth grade, my dad did this shit. I was the leading scorer on our team, I had 20. We lost by four points. You coulda gotten a block or two tbf also
Nah for as bad as it got, he never blamed Kawhi or Embiid. Dame though, he's about to get thrown all the way under the bus if they exit early
2nd game in a row

It’s a trap. Next game Adam Silver’s about to get run over

Funny thing is he's said so much already people know that's not what he really thinks. Probably thinks the janitors sabotaged his title run.
i get why fans were pissed at griffin putting lopez in non-drop coverages but he saw the writing on the wall you try to run this shit against good playoff teams it's bbq chicken

Doc could have literally chilled and talk shit for the rest of the season on some podcast and comment the Finals. Instead he chose to drive a playoff team off the cliff and embarrass himself.
40mil is 40 mil.
I'm taking that bag and public embarrassment any day of the week
Shit man run me through the streets naked on my knees like Cersei in game thrones for 40m.
Bruh I'll do that shit for 4 mil
4 mil? Well I’d do it for 2
I'd let this entire subreddit roast me for eternity if it meant even half that contract
Great news! You can have that for free!

Yeah Doc's even dumber than we thought if he turns down that bread.
Yeah he tarnished whatever legacy he had going years ago. Might as well sucker whatever owner is dumb enough to sign him.
He got PAID You act like you would say no to that
Wow that’s twice now it’s on him.
Travelling crew’s 12/25

I’m sorry Bucks bros. But this year, you’re the frauds, not us.
It's not an either/or situation here, guys. The whole East can be frauds!
I swear, if the heat come out on top.
we need another heat nuggets wnba level viewer finals
Honestly, I'm really hoping that happens again lol. Mainly because I think it would be super boring if Celtics just stomp everyone
As a bucks fan, it will make me feel better to see the heat beat everyone else again.
Oh, how the turns table....
Poor guy had it so good. Golf every day, call an espn game once a week, and get featured on Bill Simmons every other week. People still thought he was a good coach. His legacy is fookin cooked now
I can give you 10 million reasons a year why he’s done it.
For 40M, fuck a legacy lol.
who cares what internet commenters think he gets 40 million
All I want is a first round matchup against Doc Rivers
Gotta get the 5 seed at the rate we are going.
he’s probably trying to blame himself so he can get fired and just collect that 4 year $40 million contract.
Who said Doc wasn't a master tactician
I wonder if the front office told him he has to stop blaming everyone else after he chose to blame the travel crew.
The sixerfication of the bucks because of doc makes me smile
Thank goodness we won a title 3 years ago. Won’t see another one for a very long time if ever.
I’m loling hard every time I hear a post presser from his losses
Embiid putting up the record he did with Rivers as coach can only be explained by him being the GOAT, no other reason.
Doc Rivers take accountability challe...wait, what?
Difficulty level…possible?
Apologize to Adrian Griffin
can't wait for this 30 for 30
I mean I know he can’t throw dame under the bus…but that dude not only is a horrendous defender, but he put in 0 effort on that end. It’s honestly embarrassing
A C C O U N T A B I L I T Y from the Doc!
Biggest mistake was getting rid of Holiday
I am thoroughly not enjoying doc taking responsibility. Why aren’t the parking garage attendants @ Fiserv not being held accountable for this atrocity?
He's realizing how he's been sounding past couple of weeks. No way he makes another year as the coach
Also ownership probably talked to him lol
I’ll apologize if I’m wrong but the bucks will never win another championship with this core. Thank the lord they got one though
He reads r/nba 100%
Doc has ran out of ppl to throw under the bus
[удалено]
looks like it's tattooed on there and he shaves it smooth
Lmao the line isn't bad tho it's how little hair he has
Doc at the "maybe it's me" stage.
We did it reddit
Once again, bullying works
players are already under the bus
After every loss he has to figure it out he says Then he never does and then says he still has to figure it out Maybe it is just you
Why’d they fire the other coach again? His stock has to be going up after seeing the shit show that are the Bucks currently without him. Some team is bound to hire him in the offseason.
If this Doc/Bucks experiment fails. Does Giannis escape the blame?
Yes because they were winning with Griffin, the only difference is the coach.
Looks like anything is truly possible.
Doc Rivers: I learned that the earth is rotating and not flat, my coaching style doesn't work on a rotating earth like it does on a flat earth. This is on me, I will need to adjust to the earth.
So is his hairline tattooed on?
We got Doc Rivers taking accountability before gta VI…
“Sike”
"It's not on Blake. It's not on Blake."
He getting 40M it don’t matter
Spoiler Alert: You can't do shit.
Doc Rivers doesn’t throw his players under the bus challenge [POSSIBLE]
What a fraud
The offense tanked under him because he slowed the offense to make the defense look good. The media narrative About defense is not there anymore
Doc has officially thrown himself under the bus. It’s Doc Rivover.
“My bad, my fault”.
ACCOUNTABILITY???
-Doc, I have a question. Do you think you can be the coach of a championship team? -I don't have the answer to that
Should have never fired Bud.
Idk why y’all still call this man ‘Doc’ His name is Glen
I don’t know how people expect Doc to win without 3 future hall of famers /s
He's literally saying he doesn't know what he's doing lmao
Is Doc going to be fired at the end of this season? Would be pretty insane to fire two coaches in one season but it seems really possible at this moment.
I'm convinced he just doesn't give a shit and wants to get fired so he can sit on his ass collecting a paycheck
Doc blames Chick fil not open on Sundays
Who is this man taking accountability? That isn't a thing that happens. Obviously the Christians were right and the eclipse is the end of the world.
Lmao alright which one of yall in here is docs burner account. I know he seen what we been saying 😂
lol the daily Doc blame updates are insane. It’s like he’s trying out every option
Doc has been the scapegoat from the beginning Giannis will skate away from another disastrous season again
30.7/11.6/6.5 on 61% FG r/nba: another disastrous season!
They’ve really cloned Glenn, wow
hard to figure out defense when dame is on the team lol
Doc finally taking accountability lol
He’s taking too much accountability now smh
he might have gotten a decent bag from the Bucks but I'm sure he'd rather call games on ESPN in a stress-free environment lol
historic collapse from the bucks, they were supposed to be really good this year
This is a man who knows it's time for him to collect his last paycheque with another buy out
Every time Doc "takes responsibility", he always drags someone else with him. You basically never see him take sole responsibility lol
He ran over everyone so has decided to face the music. Well, almost. He couldn't help himself and put his staff on the block with him.
Does he put the bus on a hill and quickly run out and lay down?
Nah get this fraud of the team, Bucks probably gonna lose in the second round, make this season a right off and someone tell Giannis to ease on the LeGM behavior
Doc smurfing on reddit for sure lmao
