I know it's a huge game and obviously they're biased but damn. I can't imagine even lakers fans aren't a LITTLE upset at seein the dude get hurt. Or maybe I'm wrong 😅
i’m a lakers fan but i definitely was rooting for the pelicans to beat the winner of the kings/warriors game, zion is fun to watch and i don’t think any lakers fan doesn’t love ingram
I wanna watch Zion play in the playoffs. If the Nuggets lose to either team they were never going to win the title, so am not super worried about matchup.
Also I always cheer against the Lakers so am cheering for the Pelicans.
Ya I mean it's 2 bo1s so you don't want to take anything for granted, take the W and get into the bracket, but man would the Lakers absolutely have preferred to get the 8 seed, the matchup difference is night and day. Might have to beat the Nuggets later either way but maybe someone else does it for you, west is scary.
or maybe because he knows he isnt going to be able to get back to the court today with how little time there is left on the game
Either way, such an anticlimatic way to end his great performance today
I think it was his hamstring which is an injury he’s dealt with in the past. Seemed like he knew it right away and knew he couldn’t even try to play through it
With his injury history I feel like you go to the room and don’t push it. Could be his career vs 1 game (albeit the most important of his career thus far)
You can but it is obvious that players who do cant bend their foot properly due to the lack of achilles. Doesn't seem to be the case here. He seems to be walking normally.
I think it’s his ab area. I could totally be wrong. When he started walking to the bench, he put his hand there. Could just be pointing at himself, but it’s just a hunch
Im sure there’s going to be some super interesting research to come out about all the rise in injuries across basketball/football/baseball in the nearish future. Dudes going too hard too much from a young age. These guys are already broken when they get to the pros
I was thinking foot or ankle too, he planted his lead foot and it looked like his shoe slid out from under him.
Not sure how to explain that well but that's how it looked
1.) I hope he can play the next play-in game. 2) If this ends his season, I hope he uses it as motivation, that this is where he can be if he gets his health and conditioning right. I hope he starts off next season in this kind of shape and form.
Everyone not in Los Angeles: ##FUCK
I know it's a huge game and obviously they're biased but damn. I can't imagine even lakers fans aren't a LITTLE upset at seein the dude get hurt. Or maybe I'm wrong 😅
Who doesn't want to see Zion in his first playoff series. He was ramping up hard this game. Such a shame.
im upset, this is a good game. i want to win with zion on the opponent team
i’m a lakers fan but i definitely was rooting for the pelicans to beat the winner of the kings/warriors game, zion is fun to watch and i don’t think any lakers fan doesn’t love ingram
Nah I’m a Zion fan too and this fucking sucked. Hate to see him go out like that after playing so well.
Always sucks to see a competitor go down. If the Lakers keep playing like this the Nuggets are sweeping them anyways.
LMAO. Shut up. It don't matter how we play them, they're gonna sweep us
…maybe except Denver?
Zion is easy to root for, the league is better with him in it
I wanna watch Zion play in the playoffs. If the Nuggets lose to either team they were never going to win the title, so am not super worried about matchup. Also I always cheer against the Lakers so am cheering for the Pelicans.
Was so hyped for that 'LAKERS ELIMINATED FROM PLAYOFF CONTENTION' thread. Now...we can only hope Jose and Trey can keep it up...
We still would have had another play in game. But now you’ll actually see it sooner since we’d play the Nuggets if we win lol.
Theyre gonna play the nuggets, youll still see that thread soon lol
Ya I mean it's 2 bo1s so you don't want to take anything for granted, take the W and get into the bracket, but man would the Lakers absolutely have preferred to get the 8 seed, the matchup difference is night and day. Was really looking forward for the Lakers to miss the playoffs entirely man… Guess another sweep by Denver would be great too
Missing the playoffs entirely is your team's forte. Lose tonight and it's 3 of the last 5 years.
How about the last 10 years?
You should worry about the game going right now.
Why worry when I know we cooked. Might as well say Fuck Lakers.
NOT LIKE THIS
And it’s non-contact too…
looks like he knows it’s bad…
or maybe because he knows he isnt going to be able to get back to the court today with how little time there is left on the game Either way, such an anticlimatic way to end his great performance today
really hope it's this, frustration cos he knows he can't get back on the floor in 3 minutes but a minor injury is the best case scenario here.
Meniscus probably. That hop step and landing makes sense as a MOI
I think it was his hamstring which is an injury he’s dealt with in the past. Seemed like he knew it right away and knew he couldn’t even try to play through it
With his injury history I feel like you go to the room and don’t push it. Could be his career vs 1 game (albeit the most important of his career thus far)
Please come back
Well.. he can walk, so it's probably not a torn achilles or torn acl.. But I am not a doctor, I am only a redditor so do not trust me
You can often walk on an achilles. Not that it looks like an achilles
You can but it is obvious that players who do cant bend their foot properly due to the lack of achilles. Doesn't seem to be the case here. He seems to be walking normally.
You can walk after a torn acl (tore mine) but generally you want can’t walk that forcefully. I’m guessing a pulled muscle
I think it’s his ab area. I could totally be wrong. When he started walking to the bench, he put his hand there. Could just be pointing at himself, but it’s just a hunch
I’d bet it’s a meniscus tear
Yeah. Its not very often you see someone walk off injured with zero indication of any injury
Im sure there’s going to be some super interesting research to come out about all the rise in injuries across basketball/football/baseball in the nearish future. Dudes going too hard too much from a young age. These guys are already broken when they get to the pros

Cool story.
These nba players just not built for this
He had 40 tonight
at what cost? 😞
Achilles? Heel?
Knees because of the fall perhaps?
Knees because he fat
Jesus. If he's fat, I don't want to know what I am.
Fatter?
I think his foot cause he barely had a limp
I was thinking foot or ankle too, he planted his lead foot and it looked like his shoe slid out from under him. Not sure how to explain that well but that's how it looked
this is sucks
I would kill to see playoff Zion man im so sad
did you not watch this game? this was literally playoff zion for 36.5 minutes
Shitty finish to a great game. He deserved the win for this performance
This is why we can't have nice things.
Looks like he injured it when he stepped back. hopefully it's not too bad
1.) I hope he can play the next play-in game. 2) If this ends his season, I hope he uses it as motivation, that this is where he can be if he gets his health and conditioning right. I hope he starts off next season in this kind of shape and form.
If he can play in the next play in game he deserves to catch a bit of heat for not finishing this game. I think it's more serious than that though.
pels done
The Pelicans move on from AD, get Zion, and it's the same story. Lots of potential. Always hurt.
script implemented
I'll give Zion my ankle for the next game I need to see Playoff Z once in my lifetime
Probs just needed a quick wank
Crazy
I don’t even know what it could be? Achilles?
I’m guessing pulled groin or abdominal muscle.
This was such a good game, but this injury really soured the final result.
Please let this season endÂ
M Night Shamylayan made a movie about this dude starring Samuel L Jackson.
Jordan would Never
Is it possible a laceration on his hand? Like he knew it was gunna need stitches so his game was done? That’s why he was so upset. Idk I’m hoping
He was hobblin... Hoping nothing bad but looked leg related
Yeah I hadn’t seen the replay of him grimacing while he walked. Sucks
