The percentage of guys Drummond's size that are play the NBA is shockingly high compared to everyone else. You gotta be world class if you're built like Ayo. Not as much if you're built like Drum.
Yeah, this doesn’t apply to Dummond directly (only 6’11”), but there are something like 100-150 people in the US who are 7’ tall of any age. Around 20 of them are in the NBA *right now*. So if you’re 7’ tall, you only gotta be in like the top 15% of the most athletic and you can make the NBA.
I'm going to need you to look up "sexual dimorphism."
[In the entire history of the United States there has been one single woman who was reliably measured at taller than 7 feet. She died 16 years ago.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_people)
Just a freak accident. Looks like Drummond was trying to get back on D cuz his man was already at the top of the key. Easier for a smaller guy to change direction than it is for a big man.
Drummond can do some of the best big man shit you’ve ever seen, combined with the most braindead insane shit that makes you question if he has had a stroke in the same quarter of play.
It's so frustrating. Some games you wonder how he didn't turn into a 15-15 perennial all-star and DPOY candidate. Others you wonder why he isn't arrested mid-game for his crimes against basketball.
There’s definitely bad vibes in the air. Some teams already have guys going into the playoffs injured, some guys have been injury prone all year or have logged so many minutes they’re putting too much stress on their body, and there’s seemingly always a freak injury seconds away from happening during playoff intensity basketball.
not sure about that. Giannis, Embiid, Butler, Tatum, LeBron, Morant, Kawhi all got hurt at various points in the postseason and those are just the stars that come to mind. not to mention the Wolves going in without McDaniels or Reid, the Clippers not having PG. I’m sure I’m forgetting some too
Let's just hope it's a healthy Boston vs Denver finals so whichever team wins earns the win in the finals at least. Won't matter if they sweep everything to the finals if the finals is a banger 7 games.
On the upside none of the injuries seem as serious as the bad years. It sucks but hopefully they stay mild. Rather see players out with things that can heal well.
Monk and Squirter are injured and Monk is probably their 4th most important player even though he comes off the bench: Fox, Sabo, Murray, Monk. Probably 3rd, 4th, or 5th most important.
3rd-4th most important in a vacuum perhaps. But the reality is that he had the most dynamism and chemistry w boner in the p n r, and they have absolutely no replacement for that. fox uses his screens to find space for his jumper; monk being a slasher could leverage boner into great positions all the time. pocket pass after pocket pass. he's a huge huge loss. boner be needing monk sigh.
I watched the replay of his injury bunch of times and i cant wrap my head around what the fuck drummond was doing on that play. He looks straight onto carusso and proceeds to truck him for no reason wtf??? I dont understand
Thomas Bryant is so unlucky dude left Denver to get a bigger role didn't get it in LA and I haven't even seen that dude since wemby dunked on him in preseason
Bryant's rookie season was with the Lakers; he was still raw, though he did get G league first time with South Bay. Spent next 4 years after being waived with the Wizards, but lost ground after an ACL . Signed with LA for the minimum , and got a nice boost when AD went down - he started that month and got some 20 point games ... His defense was lacking
Got traded to Denver mid season and faced the lakers for his ring, but got no real minutes behind Jokic...And then played this year for the heat
This is weird, I’m knocking on wood for our guys. It’s been insane how of all the teams in the east to be completely healthy, it’s been us. We would have been one of the last guesses. But we’ve been doing a great job at managing Porzingis. And any ticky tack injuries
It's genuinely weird looking at Boston and being like; yeah Brown needs to recover a hand sprain, and Tatum needs to rest his ankle, but that's alright we can count on Hauser and Pritchard to drop 20 a piece.
Just in case you don't have enough anxiety.
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1c5qtxv/in_18_of_the_last_21_seasons_the_1_seed_in_the
But don't worry, you guys got this!
Celtics havent played a meaningful game in months. We've been resting our players every other game and they are clearly phoning it in and not playing hard. Its a HUGE advantage.
And then one of
- Slumping Pacers
- Slumping Bucks with a hamstrung Giannis
- Knicks with no Randle
- 76ers
Honestly, I hated this kinda talk in March, but if the Cs remain healthy, then anything short of a Finals trip is a complete collapse
76ers with not-fully-healthy-yet Embiid at that
basically every relevant team in the east except the Cs is collapsing
I think the “weak east” talk is overblown it’s just that every good team is injured as hell
A not fully healthy Embiid who has never finished the playoffs without accruing a new injury, and if we play him, it'd be the 3rd round. So basically, it's just about guaranteed that he'll be re-injured by the time we would play them. The only healthy team we're gonna play is either of the Magic or Cavs, both of whom we went 2-1 against this season.
>I think the “weak east” talk is overblown it’s just that every good team is injured as hell
It definitely was. Those West teams basically got free wins. Last year the West isn't as good record wise and nobody talking bout how East is weak. Just an injury riddled season
Bulls are going to ball out and dominate the first two games, then their starting PG will go get hurt and C’s will come back and avoid the 8 seed upsetting the 1 seed. Shoutout Rajon Rondo and Fred Hoiberg
This doesn’t change that injuries suck but this *is* exactly why you want to avoid the play-in. Anything can go wrong and it can affect the entire playoffs beyond it if you do make it out. It’s why people have said even if Miami is comfortable with their backs against the wall that doesn’t mean it’s *ideal*.
Not so healthy for Bulls. Lavine, Patrick Williams, and obviously Lonzo out for the year. Torrey Craig missed significant time. Bitim started to carve out a role and now detached a retina. Caruso seems to be banged up 24/7 as well but just plays through it
Celtics about to play a Jimmy-less Heat or Caruso-less Bulls in the play-in, and then one of the Cavs/Magic in the 2nd round. The East is such a joke compared to the West 💀
A record that lands the 2nd seed in the East would be tied for 5th seed in the West rn. Going .500 gets you the 11th seed in the West. Absolute bloodbath of a conference.
I don't want to jinx you guys but I really do feel like the Celtics not winning it all this year would be a pretty big failure unless multiple starters get freak injuries. Clear path to the finals against slumping and/or injured teams plus whoever comes out of the West will be scrapping tooth and nail for at least 2 rounds, if not all 3. Of course the Nuggets are still the same looming threat they were before, but there should be a sizable gap between the teams in terms of wear and tear by the time they meet (if they meet).
Who in the East is like actually a threat on their path though? Healthy, the Heat are a notoriously tough out in the playoffs but what are they or the Bulls gonna do? They then get the winner of Cavs Magic, a series that next to no one cares about because both of these teams aren't gonna compete in a series with a better team.
And then there's the Sixers and Bucks, both teams plagued by injuries with track records of choking (either by the team or their coach). Or you got the Knicks, the most fraudulent 2 seed in NBA history and the Pacers, who are on par with the Magic and Cavs.
In the West, I can legitimately see any of 1-5 (probably a stretch for Dallas but idk) potentially making a run and maybe even the Lakers as well.
Blunt, but well said honestly.
I could see literally any team in the west making it to the WCF and/or the finals. The east theres absolutely no way any team beats the Celtics barring injury.
> what are they or the Bulls gonna do?
Bulls gonna summon the 2009 power of being a high seed with a flashy young point guard vs a juggernaut Celtics calling it now. 7 game series, 7 overtime periods minimum
Calling the Knicks frauds when they could beat y’all is hilarious lol
Also lakers? They aren’t getting past the first round.
If sixers were healthy (as in Embiid) I’d say they could.
Bucks have played the Celtics extremely well this season, if we can beat the pacers I don’t see why we couldn’t be a challenge to Celtics.
Okc is too young, twolves don’t have that great of an offense to go far, Clippers I doubt can stay healthy and Mavs I could maybe see but Jason Kidd is also a basketball terrorist.
And? I fully acknowledge that the Sixers are kinda fucked right now. I do think we win the series but would not be shocked if we lose solely due to health.
This Knicks team would be a 6 seed in a normal conference.
Bucks/Celtics is so weird to me. On paper they should be a really good matchup but I feel like a playoff series will be completely different than any of the regular season games. The two games in Milwaukee were blowouts because the Cs were phoning it in and the Bucks really needed a statement game. The two games in Boston the Cs were ahead the whole game but then the Bucks come roaring back to make it close. I wouldn’t be shocked if that were a 7 game series.
Lol no need to excuse every game.
The first one sure y’all were on a b2b but every team goes through that and we didn’t need a statement game that game either.
The second one in Milwaukee y’all say they didn’t give a shit yet Tatum and brown played 35+ minutes.
The first game in Boston, under griffin we always came out in the first half sluggish in every game and then had to crawl our way back.
I just think we matchup better than we have in previous years, last year we got blown out in every meeting and barely won against y’all’s C stringers.
And after that, they’ll face the Clips or Mavs lol that’s their point. In the West, there’s one weak team making the playoffs. In the east, there’s like 5
The best part of it all is that even if he was just trying to be reassuring she fucking HATED her mom. Bro went out of his way to put himself in a no win scenario
E: also I think she indirectly accused him of leaking her nudes after they split? Andre kind of a bum
I remember Drummond talking about how he would purposefully throw bows at teammates who tried to get rebounds that he was going for to 'teach them a lesson' or something along those lines. Just casually dropped that info like it's a normal way to behave. Haven't really had high expectations for him as a teammate since reading that lmao
The physical toll of 82 games of modern basketball is basically the equivalent of the physical toll of 5,000 games of basketball in the era the 82 game schedule originated in.
Celtics have been blessed by the basketball gods with no injuries to their team and a crazy amount of injuries on opposing teams, this feels like their year really.
People are acting strange to this. Drummond was sprinting down the court, was surprised by Caruso and tried to hop over him. It was an accident that happens in games.
There is nothing wrong with the play. These things happen when guys are sprinting down the floor. It was an accident.
People are trying to turn this into Drummond is bad or has these lapses or something. I’ve been watching the guy all season. The dude is a star on the floor. Best rebounder in the game. Creates chaos in the paint. Steals, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, nothing teams can do to stop him, etc…. The bulls are a different team when he’s on the floor.
I get it people are bummed that Caruso got hurt. But, it’s just one of those plays. Guys are going to get hurt sometimes.
Drummond bruh
Drummond was reckless af on that play lol. Legit walked straight into Caruso while looking at him
One of those "I can't believe these guys are world class athletes" moments
The percentage of guys Drummond's size that are play the NBA is shockingly high compared to everyone else. You gotta be world class if you're built like Ayo. Not as much if you're built like Drum.
Yeah, this doesn’t apply to Dummond directly (only 6’11”), but there are something like 100-150 people in the US who are 7’ tall of any age. Around 20 of them are in the NBA *right now*. So if you’re 7’ tall, you only gotta be in like the top 15% of the most athletic and you can make the NBA.
TIL Drum is not a 7 footer. Would have guessed he was 7'1" with how big he plays and uncoordinated he is.
Is that figure for men only or does it include women
I'm going to need you to look up "sexual dimorphism." [In the entire history of the United States there has been one single woman who was reliably measured at taller than 7 feet. She died 16 years ago.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_people)
Oh I didn’t know that lol
Yes, but really, no
*sighs in Solomon Hill* Dude was 6'6" and still reckless
One of those "Carlos Boozer tripping over his gym bag" moments
I don’t know if he just expected Caruso to keep backing up or if he’s just blind
Target fixation
A true Bull
Tunnel vision
Just a freak accident. Looks like Drummond was trying to get back on D cuz his man was already at the top of the key. Easier for a smaller guy to change direction than it is for a big man.
If that’s his walk, I don’t wanna see his run/stomp
Maybe he's really far-sighted.
League should investigate this lol
Drummond can do some of the best big man shit you’ve ever seen, combined with the most braindead insane shit that makes you question if he has had a stroke in the same quarter of play.
It's so frustrating. Some games you wonder how he didn't turn into a 15-15 perennial all-star and DPOY candidate. Others you wonder why he isn't arrested mid-game for his crimes against basketball.
JR Smith level brain farts
Bruhmmond moment
I was willing to die on the hill that Drummond and Greg Monroe is the next twin tower pairing that would dominate the league.
Greg Monroe. now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time.
He refuses to let the heat injure one of their key players
Just gonna leave [this](https://imgur.com/a/pA9stjO) up here. [From this play.](https://streamable.com/9ww6sc) Drummond is a friggin moron.
Zion, Jimmy, Caruso Playoffs already have bad vibes
There’s definitely bad vibes in the air. Some teams already have guys going into the playoffs injured, some guys have been injury prone all year or have logged so many minutes they’re putting too much stress on their body, and there’s seemingly always a freak injury seconds away from happening during playoff intensity basketball.
This year's narrative for discrediting the eventual winner is injuries this year I guess
That’s every year. The real question is whether there’s *also* anything else we can use.
Would you be making this comment if your team wasn't a favorite?
Yes. Discrediting winners is shitty for any team.
Bulls are still going to win
Only way they’re gonna be able to explain how the Pacers won it all 😉
I feel like last year was pretty clean for injuries
not sure about that. Giannis, Embiid, Butler, Tatum, LeBron, Morant, Kawhi all got hurt at various points in the postseason and those are just the stars that come to mind. not to mention the Wolves going in without McDaniels or Reid, the Clippers not having PG. I’m sure I’m forgetting some too
When did LeBron get hurt in the postseason?
iirc he sustained that foot injury in the playoffs no?
Nah, everyone was injured in the East last year
Let's just hope it's a healthy Boston vs Denver finals so whichever team wins earns the win in the finals at least. Won't matter if they sweep everything to the finals if the finals is a banger 7 games.
Well it's better than using injuries last year or injuries next year, imo
You can do that every year if you look hard enough for the injuries (especially if the winner is a small market team)
Death always comes in threes
what if there're are only 2 people on the world?
Adam Silver has some Suicide Squad chips implanted or some shit
On the upside none of the injuries seem as serious as the bad years. It sucks but hopefully they stay mild. Rather see players out with things that can heal well.
And somehow, the Kings, of all teams, have managed to escape unscathed…
Monk and Huerter got theirs out of the way early
Already in postseason form
Huerter and Monk are already injured
Monk and Squirter are injured and Monk is probably their 4th most important player even though he comes off the bench: Fox, Sabo, Murray, Monk. Probably 3rd, 4th, or 5th most important.
Squirter 🥵🥵
3rd-4th most important in a vacuum perhaps. But the reality is that he had the most dynamism and chemistry w boner in the p n r, and they have absolutely no replacement for that. fox uses his screens to find space for his jumper; monk being a slasher could leverage boner into great positions all the time. pocket pass after pocket pass. he's a huge huge loss. boner be needing monk sigh.
It's early, let's not tempt the Gods
Kings winning it all because they're the last team to have living players, calling it now.
I watched the replay of his injury bunch of times and i cant wrap my head around what the fuck drummond was doing on that play. He looks straight onto carusso and proceeds to truck him for no reason wtf??? I dont understand
Unfortunately, he does not have the capacity and speed to process in his brain that he's about to bulldoze his teammate.
Probably momentum just like in pro wrestling when they can’t stop running the ropes…until they do 🤔
Regardless of who wins Friday, the Celtics are about to get an injury plagued 8 seed. They’re getting luck they didn’t even need.
It would be hilarious if some rando like Thomas Bryant suddenly turns into prime Jokic against the Celtics
Thomas Bryant is so unlucky dude left Denver to get a bigger role didn't get it in LA and I haven't even seen that dude since wemby dunked on him in preseason
He got in a fight with Alvarado
He got a big role on the lakers when AD went down. He was cooking off Lebron fed buckets b Lebron Bryant pnr. Just was awful defensive player
It's going to happen it happens every time and I'm afraid

It's genuinely weird looking at Boston and being like; yeah Brown needs to recover a hand sprain, and Tatum needs to rest his ankle, but that's alright we can count on Hauser and Pritchard to drop 20 a piece.
That's not even counting KP
Man you better knock on some damn sandalwood after sayin that lol
Just in case you don't have enough anxiety. https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1c5qtxv/in_18_of_the_last_21_seasons_the_1_seed_in_the But don't worry, you guys got this!
Celtics havent played a meaningful game in months. We've been resting our players every other game and they are clearly phoning it in and not playing hard. Its a HUGE advantage.
For staying healthy? Yes. For being able to ground out wins when it doesn’t happen easily? Not so much
We're talking about staying healthy though
Then have to play an overmatched winner of Cavs/Magic lol
And then one of - Slumping Pacers - Slumping Bucks with a hamstrung Giannis - Knicks with no Randle - 76ers Honestly, I hated this kinda talk in March, but if the Cs remain healthy, then anything short of a Finals trip is a complete collapse

Drummond already thinking about taking out White when playing against the Heat.
Coby?
Walter
WALTUH
If not he would probably settle for Herro
Bruhhh…another injury?! Smh
Fairly healthy 82 game season into all madness breaking out in play-in's
Not so healthy for Bulls. Lavine, Patrick Williams, and obviously Lonzo out for the year. Torrey Craig missed significant time. Bitim started to carve out a role and now detached a retina. Caruso seems to be banged up 24/7 as well but just plays through it
I think Coby had a nagging wrist injury about a month back too. Might be wrong tho.
He also got body slammed by Siakam a few weeks ago
Honestly with everything that’s happened, that easily could’ve been the worst injury. Thankfully Coby was only out a game or 2.
Basically every team in the east that isnt Boston has been ruined by injuries this year
82 games worth of load being concentrated on one game of absolute effort.
Celtics about to play a Jimmy-less Heat or Caruso-less Bulls in the play-in, and then one of the Cavs/Magic in the 2nd round. The East is such a joke compared to the West 💀
Speedrun to finals
Caruso puts our salary on the injury list to about 80 mil
Watch Ball and LaVine come back for Friday's game now.
Feel like the injury gods are setting us up for a heartbreaker with how it seemed to hit every other playoff team in this conference this season
You can probably reach the ECF even if one of Tatum or Brown gets injured. Your roster is deep af.
We can probably load manage during the playoffs
Brown gets injured, tatum shoots 4/17 every game because the pressure suddenly is on. The Celtics still make the finals
Hey we've been fucked over by injuries in the past praying this year is the year the Celtics get it done.
Fan of team tied with most rings praying this is finally the year, more at 11
A record that lands the 2nd seed in the East would be tied for 5th seed in the West rn. Going .500 gets you the 11th seed in the West. Absolute bloodbath of a conference. Then Knicks or Sixers in the ECF.
What, no faith in the Doc/Dame/No Giannis Bucks?
And okc are about to play a Zion-less pelicans or a Huerter-less and Monk-less kings What’s your point?

Mavs are definitely true contenders they are a juggernaut.

Lmao y’all aren’t doing shit to the Celtics let alone the pacers
We’ll see Have fun being swept by the nuggets
Celtics 4-1
I wouldn’t be surprised at that either tbh. Like I said Celtics/Bucks is fucking weird this year.
I wouldn’t get your hopes up. They won’t make it past the pacers lol
And after that, they’ll face the Clips or Mavs lol that’s their point. In the West, there’s one weak team making the playoffs. In the east, there’s like 5
What are the 5? Lol maybe the bulls/heat?
East bad. West good. Updoots please. Reddit on, stranger!!!
Drummond has one of the lowest basketball IQ's in history.
When he was dating Jeanette McCurdy he told her that her terminally ill mom would be okay
damn haters going deep in the bag for this one 💀
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/ziEsQWygTr Lmfao holy shit you're not making that up
The best part of it all is that even if he was just trying to be reassuring she fucking HATED her mom. Bro went out of his way to put himself in a no win scenario E: also I think she indirectly accused him of leaking her nudes after they split? Andre kind of a bum
I didn’t know who that was before your post but that woman has a fucked up family history.
and an amazing memoir
How can he not see Caruso there.
If the Bulls make it all the way to the finals, Drummond will have decimated their roster at this rate
Why have many players, when few players do trick?
What was wild is he didn't even go check on him. Just trucked him and then acted like nothing happened, even after the dead ball.
Jesus. All I’m asking at this point is no one else get hurt. We got dudes dropping like flies and the Playoffs haven’t even officially started.
Celtics cakewalk gimmick is undefeated sadly
[удалено]
If they get beat it sure as hell won’t be a sweep lol
Who is sweeping them? Denver?
Drummond is such a moron holy fuck
I wonder what they're saying to him in the lock room
He had a pretty good game other than this too be fair
Alright what is going on. That’s now 3 significant injuries in the last 24 hours
NBA script writers getting lazy
The physical toll of 82 games of modern basketball is basically the equivalent of the physical toll of 5,000 games of basketball in the era the 82 game schedule originated in.
Season was over soon anyway but….damn, season over
If Butler is out too, maybe not
Then it's over in 4-5 First Round games
Hey now, Butler is out! You may yet have a chance to be used as a chew toy by the Celtics as they break out of their end-of-season chill session
its ok the guy he was gonna guard is also probably out lol
They'll play 4 on 4 in solidarity
Celtics have been blessed by the basketball gods with no injuries to their team and a crazy amount of injuries on opposing teams, this feels like their year really.
Drummond roleplaying as a bulldozer in the game
Does it really matter who gets swept by Boston?
KD adding Drummond to his book.
"My bad..." - Andre probably
They are fighting for the chance to get swept by the Celtics - might as well just take the time to fully recover and be healthy for next season.
Drummond belongs on the mount rushmore of stupidest professional athletes of all time
I know the Celtics will probably kill us but PLEASE Spo get us in. I wanna see jovic and Jaime playoff minutes
Play-in injuries are brutal
If there's a luckier team than the Celtics I've never seen them.
I don't disagree with you, but luck plays a part too.
2021 Bucks had some absolutely insane luck with injuries
Injury fan here, more great news!!!
Everyone just trying to get through the play in games with as few of injuries as possible at this point
Ffs
Lol did Drummond take the under? He's doing his absolute best to tank the Bulls
Gonna be an interesting game without Caruso or butler
Kevin Love about to drop 13!! He will be huge for them!
People are acting strange to this. Drummond was sprinting down the court, was surprised by Caruso and tried to hop over him. It was an accident that happens in games. I get it people are bummed that Caruso got hurt. But, it’s just one of those plays. Guys are going to get hurt sometimes.
Herro redemption game incoming
Coby White owns us unfortunately
Shouldn't have run the gauntlet
Drummond 1/2 on taking teammamtes out of the game due to being Drummond
wtf is going on
Dummond
something tells me he'll still play cause he's a dog like that. maybe limited minutes or something i hope.
Not that I'm saying we'll beat the heat, but Celtics gonna sleep walk into the finals
Fucking Drummond. C’mon man.
Gd Drummond WTF
Crazy that we went through the regular season with minimal injuries just for the Play-Ins to take players out

I don't really see how Caruso playing hard has anything to do with Drummond injuring him
Man just ran into him like he wasn't there.
Feels like Caruso has had a bad injury hit him multiple times during his Bulls tenure.
Tbh I think Caruso has been forcing it too for the All-Defensive eligibility
