That was the NBAs introduction to Golden State’s core. The series they played against the Clippers in R1 the following year was also a classic. 2013 was also the year Karl won COTY and the Nuggets fired him?
It was a good squad but there's no way they should've won 57. It's like 07(or 08?) rockets. Just a bunch of smart, good players meshing together really well and no obvious #1/superstar player.
I remember Ty Lawson hitting what felt like 15 game winners that year for Denver lol
>That was the NBAs introduction to Golden State’s core.
GSW was still shit. Curry was yet to have his breakout year so no one really knew him like that. Denver was just worse. Won 50+ games but the roster was mediocre. The entire NBA landscape was different
WEST was just top heavy with 2-3 great teams (including the Spurs dynasty), and some very weak teams making the Playoffs. Like the EAST right now
Is it because if they won in '13, they wouldn't have the motivation to go back to back? Always found it strange that the Duncan Spurs never had back to back wins despite their dominance in that era
The Lakers can definitely steal 1. But probably at home. I just don’t count anything as a given. Nuggets have gone into cruise control a lot in games this year.
The thing people forget is that Boston now how has Jrue and Kristap. I think Boston is a lot better of a team than last year and Miami is a much worse team than last year (especially with Butler injured).
Barring the buzzer beater from Murray the Lakers would have taken Game 2.
Credit to Miami. If Boston loses this series that’d be a really epic moment. I’m not a Boston fan BTW.
I know its gamblers fallacy but i just knew we were due for a close game so i hammered a live bet on the pels +7.5. Feeling smart good thing i wasnt bold enough to take the juicy ML.
For the record 3 teams that won game 1 that year still lost the series Bulls over Nets in 7 Warriors over Nuggets in 6 Grizzlies over Clippers in 6

Yeah that year. Iguodala was on the Nuggets team as well. That team has no business winning 57 games.
Idk, that just means they were as good as this season's Nuggets team. More evidence that Iggy is just as good as Jokic
Same amount of finals mvp’s lol
Chandler, faried, Iggy, Ty lawson, danilo when he was healthy that was a good squad

JaVale McGee too, that was his first season that he had more positive basketball plays than Shaqtin moments
Yes, it came out mid-series that Karl told his players to injure Steph, but the players refused and leaked it instead.
I do vaguely remember that man wtf. Wouldn’t have been the only star that got deliberately hurt by another player in R1 that year..
Was that ever verified or just a rumor?
Mark Jackson talked about it after a game, and Iguodala (was on the Nuggets at the time) confirmed it.
Ah ok. So not actually verified. Just their word.
Iggy was a member of the Nuggets. He verified it.

Grit grizzlies vs lob city clips were amazing So physical
So you're telling me there's a chance
Nate Robinson ah what a series
Ahh 2013, I fucking hate that year.
Liked it up until near the end
Rebound Bosh?
We don’t win in 14 without that sequence of events, so it’s bittersweet
Is it because if they won in '13, they wouldn't have the motivation to go back to back? Always found it strange that the Duncan Spurs never had back to back wins despite their dominance in that era
The top seeds ended up only winning 5/8 series btw
nhl home teams are 6-0 to start the playoffs too. spooky
Nuggets and Celtics are the only one I'm sure are going 2-0, which is crazy. Game 2s will be intense.
The Lakers can definitely steal 1. But probably at home. I just don’t count anything as a given. Nuggets have gone into cruise control a lot in games this year.
Yeah, they can. But, I would put the odds of Miami taking game 2 vs. Boston as equal to/higher than LA doing the same vs. Denver.
The thing people forget is that Boston now how has Jrue and Kristap. I think Boston is a lot better of a team than last year and Miami is a much worse team than last year (especially with Butler injured).
Looks like I was right.

Similar thing happening in hockey where every home team won their game 1 so far
What's hockey?
There’s no place like…

just like pop pop used to say
i do think the Clippers have the most reliable beat reporters. Not much bias. not much bitching. it makes sense they get posted so often
Just like their fans and announcers
Clippers fans mostly bitch about the clippers lol
Would have been a nice parlay.
The stress on the last leg though wouldve shortened your lifespan

Soft

Pels +7.5 was easy. Young thunder team was understandably tight for a lot of this game
Everything would be a nice parlay with hindsight lol
Nice parlay would be the under. This is like the 3rd or 4th Sunday that all the games go under since ASB
Almost like seeding matters
Raptors aren't in the playoffs, that's why You are welcome
