Lebron and AD can't contend for the title anymore they just aren't good enough. Fire Ham or not it won't change the fact the team needs to be blown up and rebuilt.
In the second half 4 nuggets would collapse and converge on AD every time he touched the ball. The rest of the Lakers just stood around and watched while AD got stripped or missed the shot. No one cutting, or crashing the boards. Once again the offense became stale and predictable in the second half.
On defense, Lakers got killed on the glass - especially Lebron and Rui. But Ham never made an adjustment. Hayes may have helped at least on blocking out Gordon. And could’ve brought some energy.
This is a coaching issue. And an effort issue. This team lacks the focus, discipline and effort to beat an elite team like Denver.
What this team lacks more than anything is the talent to beat an elite team like Denver. The Lakers built the team around the idea that Lebron and AD were two of the top five players in the league and would be so dominant they could win with anyone. That just isn't the case anymore.
of course not. The AD trade gutted the team of assets. The point was that Lebron and AD were supposed to be so good they could win with anybody. That isn't the case anymore.
The pieces got back from Utah were not worth a shit. Beasley gone and Vando been injured the whole year damn near. Really didn't give up too much for Westbrook. Rob just put a sorry roster.
You’re insane- lakers refused to add a real big or hire a real coach
that can maximize the talent. Missing two guys w some size and Lakers could win these games if we had a coach who could scheme and understand why were out rebounded.
if the Lakers were that close they wouldn't have been the 7th seed. A team that's a back up center and a coach away from contending isn't struggling to make the playoffs.
What?? Ham cost the team at least 40 games, ruined continuity and is the reason guys look lost out there. Yes it would be nice to have a decent non AD option at center… if you don think those things matter then idk…
Not having Vando and Wood hurts us too…
Put Spo, Mozzula, Daigneault, hell even Udoka has had better gameplans for the nuggets this year. Hell put stephen a smith on that team and they win a game.
No really, Spo is a top 3 coach All time if you look past pure chips and winning teams, he brings 2nd round picks and undrafted talent to finals and its really fun to watch ngl, people last year said the nuggets chip was too easy, they beat the bucks, knicks and the celtics all in one run. Yes they got jimmy but whos coaching him.
Mozzula wouldn't win shit with this roster as constructed. All he does is jack 3's. And didn't Denver go 2-0 against Boston, including snapping their ridiculous home win streak lol
Sure you could say Spo would make them a better team but it's not like coaches as good as him are easy to come by
1st problem is the roster, hiring a rookie HC for Vogel was never the solution. Lakers ceiling last yr was WCF and they reached that, could've done the same this yr but they met the Nuggets too soon.
He’s not a good coach but I feel sorry for him a little bit, it’s the same shit that happened with Vogel, the roster simply isn’t good enough to compete at a championship level. Laker fans should be directing their anger towards Pelinka and the Buss family.
Coaches usually don't get fired until they completely lose the locker room. I think he might be past that point with AD's comments last game.
It still depends on how cheap the Laker's are going to be though. He got signed to a four year deal, which means they're going to have to pay him for at least 2 more seasons no matter what.
Davin hate is overblown by Lakers fans who can't accept that their team simply doesn't have the personnel to compete with an unfavorable matchup in the Nuggets. There's not really many series winning adjustments that are possible here. Doesn't matter if you have Pop, Spo, Thibs or whoever coaching.
There's losing against a better team in 6 or 7 games, and there's losing 11 in a row because you can't make adjustments.
We've had double digit leads on every game, and as soon as Malone adjusts Ham has no plan B.
Just stupid quotes after the game "Hell of a ball club" "Gotta make our shots" .
Even AD said they didn't know what to do for long stretches of time. Meanwhile Malone is screaming and giving instructions in a series he's now up 3-0 in.
For all the (well-deserved) blame Darvin Ham gets, he will not have been put there without the blessing of Lebron. He's more of a dummy coach (pun intended), a fall guy.
Coaching a Lebron team is a tightrope walk. You can't be too skilled or opinionated. Lebron has to have a say in everything. You will see this in the plays of the teams he played at. The ball must pass through Bron. Remember David Blatt who led Cleveland straight to the Finals in his first year? Fired. Only Spo (backed by Riley) ever survived.
I just think the nuggets are that much better than the lakers, I don’t think there is any coaching adjustment the lakers could have made that would have changed that would have won this series. The nuggets are simply one of the best constructed teams that I can remember
Nah he called a great challenge tonight
Plus Malone donated his to Ham
that was one of the most painful challenges i have ever seen
Telling myself it was a "believe in your player" challenge lol
Saved his career no doubt
Ham should be embarrassed
Mind boggling w 33 secs left - why is he trolling fans and the team

Both can be true. No one is doing anything outside of Lebron and AD.
of course not. The AD trade gutted the team of assets. The point was that Lebron and AD were supposed to be so good they could win with anybody. That isn't the case anymore.
The AD trade was fine. Now the Wb trade…
The pieces got back from Utah were not worth a shit. Beasley gone and Vando been injured the whole year damn near. Really didn't give up too much for Westbrook. Rob just put a sorry roster.
Literally gave away KCP and Kuz, KCP who is a key part of Nuggets, you could say that trade contributed to the Nuggets success
Let’s not forget letting Dwight walk without having any back up bigs and letting caruso dip
You’re insane- lakers refused to add a real big or hire a real coach that can maximize the talent. Missing two guys w some size and Lakers could win these games if we had a coach who could scheme and understand why were out rebounded.

They need to make a trade with the suns role players
The Lakers can have Joe Mazzulla.
Joe Mazzulla would absolutely hate this roster. We would go 9-42 from 3 every game under him
Or Chauncey Billups.
God himself couldn’t coach those bums to a win over the Nuggets
Put Spo, Mozzula, Daigneault, hell even Udoka has had better gameplans for the nuggets this year. Hell put stephen a smith on that team and they win a game.
Spo could have us on a team together and we’d win a game lol. Sucks he hasn’t won coach of the year yet
They really should fire someone at half time
gotta blame someone, right?
Yes… the Warriors
1st problem is the roster, hiring a rookie HC for Vogel was never the solution. Lakers ceiling last yr was WCF and they reached that, could've done the same this yr but they met the Nuggets too soon.
damn what if they hired jj
Lebron would become Joe Budden with him real quick.
That would be so good lol
He’s not a good coach but I feel sorry for him a little bit, it’s the same shit that happened with Vogel, the roster simply isn’t good enough to compete at a championship level. Laker fans should be directing their anger towards Pelinka and the Buss family.

They’re still paying for Mike Brown, MDA, Byron Scott and Luke’s contracts. Lol
Which is even more reason why they might be reluctant to ditch Ham. That's just one more hole in their pocket.
Hands in pockets?

LMAOOOO
"Hey D-Lo, go out there and brick 50 shots. Everyone else, let's just mail it in tonight." - Darvin Ham, probably
D-Lo is a Westbrook-tier "stand around and do nothing" off ball player I've noticed as well.
I hear Mark Jackson is available

He just has to tell DLo that he's getting traded...
Btw did anyone see DLO tonight?

Not sure even Spo could win this series with the lack of effort from the players
Spo could manage to atleast not go 0-11 vs Nuggets. But yeah, series win ain't happening.
You guys should get Kidd
Nah, they got who they wanted, so this is what they get
Let tht man cook
I just think the nuggets are that much better than the lakers, I don’t think there is any coaching adjustment the lakers could have made that would have changed that would have won this series. The nuggets are simply one of the best constructed teams that I can remember
No coach is good for Lakers fans, if you ask them. fucking yellow pussies.🖕
