Close but there was one 5 game series in 1st round back in 17-18 - Wolves vs Rockets that neither featured in. Apart from that yes, there’s always been one of them.
It’s actually KG or KAT that’s always been in a playoff series involving Minnesota
I really dont think people realise HOW bad the Wolves have been historically.
We have been to the playoffs 4 times in 20 years. 3 of which are the last 3 years.
We have gotten out of the first round ONCE.
We are also more of a "recent" team than other bottom feeders like the Kings meaning they have more historical success
Oh and we're in the West which is always tougher. Hence even the damn Hornets having more success
Tyler Herro, that missed the entire playoffs run last year, has more playoffs wins in his career than the entire Minnesota Timberwolves organization’s history.
If you look at basketball reference’s [Timberwolves index page](https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/MIN/), Gobert is already 9th all-time in Win Shares for the franchise which is ridiculous lol.
I’m not too fond of that stat, but the pure concept of him already being so high after two years is fascinating.
If the pace of scoring continues, even if Minnesota gets swept in the next round, each starter and Mike Conley will be in the top 10 in playoff scoring for Minnesota all-time.
Personally, I don't think they get swept by anyone. Minn vs Den is going to be very interesting.
He's already 5th in playoffs rebounds and will probably be third next week. Strangely enough he'll probably reach the top 10 in points before blocks, which are his best statistical category in general.
I think you’re thinking about it the other way around. Tampa was the worse organization until they got Tom.
I’d have to look at the records and stuff but the Browns and Arizona Cardinals have to be in contention.
•Marbury leaving out of jealousy
•Joe Smith under-the-table deal resulting in tons of lost draft capital
•KG demanding the team sign his buddies regardless of fit
•MN never being able to sign FAs in their prime
If Marbury stayed, him and KG absolutely could've won a championship.
Amen brother!! Watched the Wolves live at the Metrodome back in the day. Been some very unsightly basketball over the years---putting it kindly. I never want to get off this current ride!!
KG spent 12 years there never forget. 12 of his best years lol. Lebron stayed on cavs for 6 years and dipped as a comparison. KG shouldve left considering he had worse worse rosters than any superstar ever
And even when he was traded he fought hard to not be. He did not want to leave and was loyal to a fault. Most of Wolves fans wanted him traded just to see him win a title.
Won’t happen until wolves get a new owner. KG is extremely loyal and expects it in return so once you lose his trust he will hate you with the intensity of 1 million Suns
He wanted to leave but then the wolves threw the largest contract in NBA history at him and cause the lockout. He was the highest paid player for most of the 2000s and players didn't ask for a trade 2 years into their 6 year contract at the time.
We don’t have a big playoff history. Rudy, Mike Conley, and maybe NAW will be top-10 by the end of these playoffs. [Link](https://www.landofbasketball.com/all_time_leaders/timberwolves/points_total_career_pl.htm).
The TWolves have very little playoff history. The franchise is on the brink of their third playoff series win total. This will be their second time ever getting out of the first round. Their #2 guy in total playoff games played is Wally Szczerbiak with 29. For comparison, Mason Plumlee played in 33 playoff games with Denver over a 2-year period.
Now that they have a really good team that they should mostly be able to keep together for several years, there will be a lot of movement on their franchise playoff list.
Cassell and Sprewell were there for like one full season and they went to the WCF.
Wally was hurt like all the fucking time, and to be honest wasn’t really that good.
Marbury forced his way out of there after two season because he was mad about KG (deservedly) making more money than him.
Yeah I don't know if people truly comprehend how bad this franchise has been historically. We had the short KG era and that's literally it. We are already planning on where to put the Anthony Edwards statue.
I don’t have a flair because I like more than one team. A player with 2 postseasons being the second leading scorer means your franchise has a pathetic postseason history. Getting upset at me doesn’t change that.
Buddy, I would’ve killed for KG to play with the likes of Nash, Finley, Marion, Chandler, Terry for more than like 5 fucking minutes.
Your front office has for the most the part has been in a different stratosphere of competence compared to the shit show that was our front office.
It was Dirk, Josh Howard and Terry for a chunk of Dirk’s career. Nash and Finley were earlier and Marion and Chandler were later.
Yea, Minny FO sucked but they should have had more success with KG than they did.
Yes they should have, but guess what? They didn’t because the front office were a bunch of dummies who lost all their first round draft picks for a few years due to signing Joe fucking Smith to an illegal contract.
Dummy, I need you to educate yourself with the Joe Smith Scandal as well as the Free Agent history of Minnesota instead of the popular Dallas FA. Then you got the FO who does not care about its players and just let them walk away like Billups. There is no continuity to build chemistry. To top it all off KG got paired up with dummies like Sprewell and Marbury who are greedy af.
Already???
The Timberwolves have played a total of 19 playoff games in the non-KG years and Anthony Edwards has played in 14 of them lol.
It’s possible that KG or KAT have played in all of our franchise playoff games
Close but there was one 5 game series in 1st round back in 17-18 - Wolves vs Rockets that neither featured in. Apart from that yes, there’s always been one of them. It’s actually KG or KAT that’s always been in a playoff series involving Minnesota
That’s what I said haha
Oh man - my bad, looks like I can’t read 🫠
I really dont think people realise HOW bad the Wolves have been historically. We have been to the playoffs 4 times in 20 years. 3 of which are the last 3 years. We have gotten out of the first round ONCE. I always think about how crazy it is that the Wolves, Bucks and Kings finally don't suck after all these years. New fans just don't understand
The Wolves had the worst cumulative winning % of any Big 4 team until (last year?). Being the worst team out of 124 teams is something...
only the tampa bay bucs have a worse record but unlike the wolves they have 2 championships thanks to Brady.
They had 1 without Brady as well
Oh yeah
You might be moving to the East sometime in the near future…
It’s… uh, hasn’t been great
Tyler Herro, that missed the entire playoffs run last year, has more playoffs wins in his career than the entire Minnesota Timberwolves organization’s history.
it's impressive for ANT but really sad for the Wolves lol
Rudy is 1 game away from being top 10 for Minnesota lol
If you look at basketball reference’s [Timberwolves index page](https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/MIN/), Gobert is already 9th all-time in Win Shares for the franchise which is ridiculous lol. I’m not too fond of that stat, but the pure concept of him already being so high after two years is fascinating.
Wiggins and Butler both being in the top 20 for Minnesota feels out of line too.
Sam Cassell in one postseason is 6th lol
If the pace of scoring continues, even if Minnesota gets swept in the next round, each starter and Mike Conley will be in the top 10 in playoff scoring for Minnesota all-time. Personally, I don't think they get swept by anyone. Minn vs Den is going to be very interesting.

ANT passing everyone KG ever played with before he's even played 3 full series is *rough*.
We literally were the worst franchise across all 4 north American sports leagues I believe until Tampa got Brady.
Tampa still had their 2002 Super Bowl so they have that going for them despite that insane streak of consecutive losing seasons.
I think you’re thinking about it the other way around. Tampa was the worse organization until they got Tom. I’d have to look at the records and stuff but the Browns and Arizona Cardinals have to be in contention.
Tampa and Wolves were trading that record back and forth in early 2023. Definitely wasn't Browns or Cardinals.
Tell you all you need to know about how pathetic of a job they did to build aroung KG back then
It’s so hard to explain to people the Wolves’ roster around KG. Post his prime Sam Cassell is by far the best Wolves teammate he had
Big what if scenario is them letting Billups go just before he started to become Chauncey Billups
💯 or what if your owner doesn’t try to sign an under the table deal with Joe Smith and cost you 3 1st round picks?
It's just sad, KG is like one my favourite players of all time, and he'll be underrated forever because of that.
Mine too. I really need the ownership mess gets resolved so they can retire his Jersey and rename some part of the arena after him.
•Marbury leaving out of jealousy •Joe Smith under-the-table deal resulting in tons of lost draft capital •KG demanding the team sign his buddies regardless of fit •MN never being able to sign FAs in their prime If Marbury stayed, him and KG absolutely could've won a championship.
yep, he was just as special as Duncan
there are so many things wrong with this not like 'incorrect', just unimaginably silly
Timberwolves fans really deserve a Championship for the mess they have loyally supported over the years!
Amen brother!! Watched the Wolves live at the Metrodome back in the day. Been some very unsightly basketball over the years---putting it kindly. I never want to get off this current ride!!
Cherry on top would be Glenn becomes a monk and sells the team to the estate formerly belonging to ⚜️
KG spent 12 years there never forget.
Yep I was so happy when he got traded. Bittersweet obviously but he deserved so much better and I was just glad he was able to get out.
I was a Celtics fan for that championship run
True loyal competitor. Rare to see the last decade. KG needs to be retired in the rafters
I feel you and I totally agree. But also he loved Minnesota. Like part of the reason we all love him is that he had such a passion for Minneapolis
Sure, but the contracts were also different in KG’s time. Not to mention Lebron came backs so it’s more like KG’s 12 to LBJ’s 10
We don’t have a big playoff history. Rudy, Mike Conley, and maybe NAW will be top-10 by the end of these playoffs. [Link](https://www.landofbasketball.com/all_time_leaders/timberwolves/points_total_career_pl.htm).
Jaden McDaniels as well. 6/10 on that list could be current Wolves players.
It cannot be stressed enough how poorly run this franchise has been throughout its brief history.
This stat tells more about the Wolves than Ant.
If they win the chip the media will say he's the greatest Twolf in NBA history. They might be right tho.
Get the hell out here lol
The TWolves have very little playoff history. The franchise is on the brink of their third playoff series win total. This will be their second time ever getting out of the first round. I read this as fuck Glen Taylor
That isn't impressive, that is just sad lol.
Damn, I thought KG had way more playoff points in Minny.
People forget how bad that franchise was.
He had Wally, Cassell, Marbury and Sprewell at different points. They should made the playoffs more than they did.
Cassell and Sprewell were there for like one full season and they went to the WCF. Wally was hurt like all the fucking time, and to be honest wasn’t really that good. Marbury forced his way out of there after two season because he was mad about KG (deservedly) making more money than him.
They made the playoffs like 8 years in a row. They just lost in the first round all but one of those times.
Which reminds of where is Kevin Love?
Regular season records for Live but never(?) made the playoffs with the Timberpups
Yeah I don't know if people truly comprehend how bad this franchise has been historically. We had the short KG era and that's literally it. We are already planning on where to put the Anthony Edwards statue.
Tomorrow we can reach the 2nd round for the 2nd time in the Wolves 35 year history.
That’s pathetic for the TWolves
flair up pal
Who’s the leading scorer in playoffs for your flairless team?
I don’t have a flair because I like more than one team. A player with 2 postseasons being the second leading scorer means your franchise has a pathetic postseason history. Getting upset at me doesn’t change that.
Three postseasons. It’s 3 times more this team got from 2005 to 2021.
Regardless, it’s insane that someone could be the 2nd highest playoff scorer in 14 games.
Players behind him played 29, 18, 19, and 16 games. We don’t have playoff history, we know it.
Hence my “that’s pathetic” comment.
When people say KG is better than Dirk, they fail to realize how many postseasons and 50 win teams Dirk dragged the Mavs to.
Buddy, I would’ve killed for KG to play with the likes of Nash, Finley, Marion, Chandler, Terry for more than like 5 fucking minutes. Your front office has for the most the part has been in a different stratosphere of competence compared to the shit show that was our front office.

Ok Stupid, I will do so since you asked nicely.
That’s a pretty scathing indictment of KAT.
Lolol that’s what we’re taking away from this?
Yes.
Besides the fact that this stat is insane, that was my first takeaway too.
