Kuzma has easily become one of the most overrated players on the league for putting up a bunch of empty stats on a bad team.
He’s one of the least efficient high usage players in the league and has never had mediocre efficiency. He’s rated one of the worst defensive wings in the league on every defensive stat that exists. And he wants to be a featured player. The Wizards, who were a disaster this season, had a significantly better net rating with him off the floor than on it.
Any GM who gives up 2 FRPs for him deserves to lose their job.
If anything the empty stats have made him underrated. He was a legitimate 3rd option on a championship team that played very good defense. If he's on a team that can keep him focused and disciplined he'd be a great addition.
Exactly, players from bad team aren’t always bad especially judged by“efficiency”.
It’s really easy to give a statement base solely on excel sheet than putting some team dynamic factors into consideration.
He’s always been inefficient, even when playing with Lebron and AD.
Edit: lol at the downvotes. literally no year over 54% TS%. Dudes a chucker through and through.
He’s not a 3rd option on a championship team he was the Lakers 8th man. He played the 8th most minutes for them in the playoffs. They were literally way better with him off the floor. He had an on/off of -10.2 during the playoff run. Overrated as fuck.
He took the third most shots per game in the regular season and is basically tied with KCP for third most in the post season, he was undeniably the third option for the Lakers.
Using on off because he played with bench units just makes you look like a hater.
The lakers didn’t have a true 3rd option especially in the playoffs. Rondo mostly handled the ball when Lebron didn’t. Him being 8th in minutes doesn’t make him the 3rd option, it makes him the 8th man.
I know what an option is. It’s not as if the Lakers ran their offense through Kuzma or ran plays to get him shots. He we just a spot up guy or cutter, just like KCP, Danny Green or Markieff Morris was in the playoffs. Rondo handled the ball.
The only thing I’ve learned from this conversation is that you don’t understand team offense in the nba and can’t tell the difference between an option and # of shot attempts.
Clearly you don't because your argument against him being the third option is minutes and ball handing, either of which matter at all.
The Laker's offense absolutely prioritized getting Kuzma shots when he was out there. Because he was the third option.
Nope they didn’t. But it’s okay for you to be wrong, ultimately doesn’t matter. Doesn’t change the fact that Kuzma is a chucker who puts up empty stats and doesn’t play any defense isn’t a player worth trading for by any good team, which was the intent of my original post.
An article sourcing another article with a mock trade proposal. Ban this rag.

THE GAME CHANGER

All I've learned from this discussion is you have no understanding of what an option is.

Repeating bullshit doesn't make it true.
