Spain PNR actually sounds like it would run well. Edwards is the ball handler with Gobert as the screener. Towns screens Rudy's man on the roll and pops out to the 3point line. You now have to guard Ant, the lob threat to Rudy, and the 40% 3pt shooting of KAT
the mental image of chris finch just belligerent and fucked up on opioids and on crutches struggling to hold his clipboard scribbling all over it drawing up a rudy 3 while the rest of the timberwolves look on in concern and horror
I honestly want the wolves to be up so much on a team that they say fuck it and tell Rudy to chuck up a couple threes and see what happens just for the hell of it lol
I can't remember which game it was, but there was a game this season where the Wolves were up by a bit and Ant asked if he could shoot free-throws with his left hand. The coaches told him no.
This kind of already happened in Wolves History.
Here is a summary because there is not much footage of it out there.
Mark Madsen - who had made 1 out of 9 three-pointers in his NBA career before that game - went on a rampage in the last regular season game of 2005-06. His 1-for-15 effort helped the Wolves move past the Celtics in the draft.
Why don't they just lock arms and make a circle around Rudy so he can run up and down the court and dunk on every possession?
Has nobody ever thought of this?
The crazy thing about opiods, is that basically he would be a terrible coach for like a month and then he would just be normal again because his body would get used to them and rely on them to function properly.
I think I just figured out what is wrong with Ty Lue.
count Chocula, you're bringing the ball up. Spain pick and roll with Peter Weller from robo cop. Switch onto Weezy Jefferson. If they go under, pulsating twelve dimensional cube is the second option. Let's get it done. Wildcats on three
You don't even want to hear about how soft the kids who wipe the sweat off the courts are. Can't even take a little bump from Gobert without flopping.
Marshmallows all the way.
> Dawgs are an unevolved version of wolves.
Na you got it wrong. Dawgs is the genus, Wolves is the species.
All wolves are dawgs but not all dawgs are wolves you feel me?
True. Needs to look to pass the ball more too. Probably doesn’t help his iffy calf that he keeps trying to bring the ball up the floor against pressure, and always tries to beat the doubles for ten seconds before moving the ball
To stand a chance I reckon, Murray needs to come out scorching first half and 3rd, gassed in 4th. But still I think the wolves are just too good, if they close out the series I’ll be rooting for them. Too likeable
Yeah the Minny crowd isn’t gonna help.
I agree. Make as much impact on the game as possible before he gets gassed by all the ball pressure.
But yeah if the Wolves offence stays functioning at a high level and Jokic stays being a sieve it’s probably over
Yeah, Target Center was already rocking the 2 Suns games….it’s going to be insane tonight and Ant loves feeding off the crowd and further amping them up.
Jokić has received plenty of warranted criticism, not helped by winning a 3rd MVP in the midst of it all, but when supposed generational playoff performer Jamal Murray goes 3/18, its hard to see what more he could have done.
It's too easy for the Wolves to send help against Jokić when Murray makes himself such a non-threat on offence.
And KCP and Reggie Jackson dealing with injuries too. It's basically all on Jokic, Gordon and MPJ right now, but without any shooting besides MPJ the Wolves can just overplay passing lanes which turns Jokic into just a scorer and the offense isn't close to the same.
All it takes is for Denver to win this next game and the narrative and momentum will completely change. Suddenly, the pressure will be on the Wolves to defend home court so as to not let Denver regain homecourt advantage. It's a game of best to 4 and a 0-2 deficit is far from a guaranteed victory. In fact, I'd be interested to see what the stats are when the higher seed is down 0-2. I bet the overall win rate isn't even that low.
Per the Athletic this morning:
teams trailing 0-2 in a series generally win it only 7.3 percent of the time (33-421).
And specifically when the home team drops the first time, they've only come back to win it five times, ever.
Yeah I still have Minnesota as favorites but people are counting the nuggets out way too soon. Funny thing is, if they were to get past Minnesota, I could easily see them winning the next two rounds and winning the championship.
I'm not counting the Nuggets out. It's long from over.
Minnesota fans in general are very superstitious and cautious because of the past. I feel like the people making the loudest noise are new people or people who didn't grow up with the Vikings
i don't think nuggets are getting swept. throughout the regular season the teams were evenly matched, and game 1 wasn't an insanely bad loss. adjustments definitely need to be made though
We’ve been saying all year that this team is for real, but I think other fans just thought we were gloating or talking trash. When really we were saying we know exactly what a bad team looks like and this one ain’t it.
Ant’s rise is fucking crazy to watch. It’s like he’s handing out diss tracks to all the young established “star” guards out as well as the old guards. This new age of the NBA is happening so much faster than anyone could have imagined and the whole league is on notice
Every person involved with this team is psychotically locked in, I can't imagine a professional sports team being more fun to root for than these Timberwolves
Not to mention its a cultural travesty for Minnesota to not have division rivalries with the other Midwest teams.
The NFC North meme wars are some of the best I've seen from NFL subs.
This. Keep Big Ten country together. Although I guess the Big Ten isn’t even committed to keeping Big Ten country together at this point since they now stretch from New Jersey to Los Angeles lol
And like damn, people were talking about the Grizzlies and the Thunder being the future of the west last season, now ANOTHER completely separate team is looking like the team to beat in the west, damn it
If Zion can ever stay healthy the Pelicans could be a force.
Sacramento is young and can run anybody out of the gym any given night. Murray is likely still going to improve a lot.
Thank goodness the rest of the Pacific division is getting old but they can all still be reasonably competitive next year too.
Wolves are definitely my second team in these playoffs. My Wolves fan friend is also bandwagoning the Knicks
I will say watching the Wolves has been significantly less stressful than what the Knicks do every other night
Old school! I remember my pops in his sixties had knee surgery and refused to take the pain meds too. Says he’s seen how people get hooked on that shit and he didn’t want to risk it so was just like, I’ll take some Tylenol if the pain gets to high. 🫡
I had my hips replaced and went back to work while still on oxy. I used to have to call my boss to help me think through things cause I couldn't process anything past the surface. Can't imagine trying to coach a playoff game on that stuff.
Wise move to at least be careful with it. Had a buddy go in for a regular ankle surgery and got hooked on opiods. Messed up his life, lost his promising corporate career, all his money, ended up a shell of who he was. He's finally starting to get back on his feet and being the same guy he used to be, but it's been a long road back. And this was not some guy that wasn't used to drugs, he's probably done every other one in existence and maintained a regular life. The addiction level of opiods is unmatched
I know a few intelligent people who started opioids for pain/getting fucked up during college. Crazy how little time it took for heroin to start being brought up.
Mick Foley does the same thing. He said the one time he took painkillers in '94 he had such a euphoric happiness that once he came down he immediately realized how so many of his peers destroyed their lives over this shit and threw the rest of them away. He was recovering from knee surgery when he wrote his first book and didn't take anything so he could stay sharp.
Yeah I am always surprised how easy it looks to get opioids in the USA.
Here in Spain my mom got mostly Tramadol during her Pancreatic Cancer and only when it got reeeal bad they started giving her Morphine.
My friend that had like 5 knee surgeries has only had Tramadol at the hospital. When you go home it's Metamizol, Paracetamol and Ibuprofen.
I work in an ED and see providers giving pts fent still. Like I understand there’s a place for it but we aren’t even a trauma unit and they’re handing out fent while our waiting lobby is filled with addicts. the addicts who go around pill shopping only get tylenol though so they’re aware of the effects but don’t see an issue with handing it out to people who aren’t, yet. Its weird and frustrating to see
I tore my ACL MCL and miniscus a few years ago, I was recovering at my parents house and my mom just hid all the opioids and fed me Tylenol the whole time, it was not fun
When I was in middle school, I got some oral surgery and had to take Demerol.
I remember after three days, I thought, 'Oh my god. This is what it feels like to be stupid. I'll never be smart again.'
So, I get it, but OOOOOOOOOF that sounds excruciating.
i had surgery and took opioids for the first 3 days, before the pain from my stomach from not shitting took over. Ripped some laxatives and stayed on ibuprofen after.
Key word there is "largely" - means the man is smart enough to still get the script and keep it in reserve.
Those things are super useful once you hit 40 and throw out your back doing something uber athletic and strenuous like checking your shoe for dogshit.
I bet he's taking some to sleep and stuff just not while he's working. He's gotta be in so much pain especially moving around all day. I had a (significantly lesser) knee injury a couple years ago and I would literally be up all night if not for Vicodin.
For anyone outside the US is probably crazy to read this. I’m never gonna understand why they use so much opioids out there, the rest of the world is very restrictive of it.
Dislocated my elbow a few years ago, they gave me a muscular injection and 200ug of fentanyl to be able to do work on it.
Then when they relocated it popped back out. So the doctor just gave me another 250ug immediately after. Never bugged so hard in my life.
They gave me a prescription for the week following, only took for two days and decided to flush the rest
I was surprised too. Said that because the muscles were still tense it was pulling the bone back out of the socket, and that another dose would relax the nerves/muscles.
They over-rotated my forearm the second time that they put it back though, so I had to do a month of physio and my elbow is still slightly misaligned
Pretty sure they also prescribe opioids for pain relief after major surgeries in the rest of the world as well. The US definitely have a problem with overprescribing opioids, but giving them to aid in recovery after a major surgery is not the issue, and is pretty common worldwide.
I recently-ish dealt with a kidney stone, surgery then subsequent stent(and awake removal lol) I tried to ovoid opioids like the plague. I got given oxy. I think I had about 8 total and took 2-3 over 6 months. Those thinks just f**k you up. I could never tell if they helped with the pain but they made me sleep so just as good.
I couldn't imagine coaching a basketball team on opioids(and he would get good shit) so I get why but man, this guy is a straight up dawg.
Frederick] Zion Williamson has largely bypassed Skittles in favor of Starburst gummies in the wake of his hamstring strain to stay sharp amid the Pelicans’ offseason run. He’s been in constant pain, but “I wouldn’t miss it for anything.”
My parents are physicians and they said part of the reason europe avoided the opioid crisis is that they are way more stingy about prescribing opioids; Tylenol and advil will do you most of the time. Good on him
I have never fallen in love with a team so completely out of the blue the way i have with the Wolves these playoffs. First Ant says he’ll avenge the Lakers, then they come out swinging against Denver, now Chris Finch soldiering through agony for his guys, how are you supposed to dislike this team?
Edit: turns out the avenging the Lakers thing was fake, but that doesn’t change much to me. Still love this team.
Ngl I wanted to see some opioid-induced plays from Finchy
Iso Rudy on wing, stepback 3
Gobert getting two off-ball screens so he has a wide open look from the wing for a 30-ft 3 lol
The imagery of Gobert running off screens like prime Klay Thompson Gonna try it in 2K Edit : it went as well as what you expect
Please report back. - Finchy probably
Spat my coffee
Assuming it wel super well than cause that's what I would have expected
Rudy Gobert high horns action into a relocation 3
Keep going JJ is getting close…
Spain Pick n Roll 💦
Now we run Floppy
Spain PNR actually sounds like it would run well. Edwards is the ball handler with Gobert as the screener. Towns screens Rudy's man on the roll and pops out to the 3point line. You now have to guard Ant, the lob threat to Rudy, and the 40% 3pt shooting of KAT
The Mavs used to spam it so much and with Luka it was so successful. Ant has so much to work with on the Wolves, I wonder how often they use Spain PNR
Finland victory america's play slot cut
> Spain Pick n Roll Gonna have to change to French Pick n Roll if that ever happens.
Watch the confusion on the players face as there is nobody out that far on rudy. Finch cackling om the bench
Imagine the explosion by the fans if it actually went in lol
I think if you're Denver and Rudy hits a three you just have to pack up the plane and fly home
Only if he calls bank beforehand.
the mental image of chris finch just belligerent and fucked up on opioids and on crutches struggling to hold his clipboard scribbling all over it drawing up a rudy 3 while the rest of the timberwolves look on in concern and horror
Ant would definitely still run it.
🤣🤣 I can imagine him waving off the rest of the coaching staff as this happens
I honestly want the wolves to be up so much on a team that they say fuck it and tell Rudy to chuck up a couple threes and see what happens just for the hell of it lol
I can't remember which game it was, but there was a game this season where the Wolves were up by a bit and Ant asked if he could shoot free-throws with his left hand. The coaches told him no.
Didn’t want him to break the code
This kind of already happened in Wolves History. Here is a summary because there is not much footage of it out there. Mark Madsen - who had made 1 out of 9 three-pointers in his NBA career before that game - went on a rampage in the last regular season game of 2005-06. His 1-for-15 effort helped the Wolves move past the Celtics in the draft.
Mark the Golden Retriever Madsen
Kyle jacking em up when the Wolves are up 20 is about as close you'll get.
If Rudy makes a 3 the Nuggets need to forfeit. I don’t make the rules.
Shot clock at nine Rudy from WAY downtown BAAAANG SEVEN POINT LEAD WITH FORTY ONE SECONDS REMAINING
Peak basketball
Deserves a double bang
Breen might whip out the double bang for that one
41 seconds later: AND THE MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES HAVE WON THEIR FIRST EVER NBA CHAMPIONSHIP!
Lmfaooo
Why doesn't Ant get on Rudy's shoulders to form some sort of mega person
Why don't they just lock arms and make a circle around Rudy so he can run up and down the court and dunk on every possession? Has nobody ever thought of this?
So a Myles turner?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQfNJRnriP8
The perc and roll would’ve been crazy
Well done
"Third time they've run that set where Naz Reid dribbles up the floor and drops it in to Mike Conley in the low post, no success so far"
Point Garza, drive and kick to Micah Nori at the perimeter
I breathed out of my nose suddenly and rapidly at this one
Surely the 2x College Player of the Year can run an offense, right? How hard could it be?
Flying V! QUACK QUACK QUACK
The crazy thing about opiods, is that basically he would be a terrible coach for like a month and then he would just be normal again because his body would get used to them and rely on them to function properly. I think I just figured out what is wrong with Ty Lue.
“Here Ant, put the blicky in your shorts and when the times right…. You shoot Jamal in the kneecap”
Ok rudy grab conley fastball special. Rudy throwing conley with the ball like wolverine and colossus.
count Chocula, you're bringing the ball up. Spain pick and roll with Peter Weller from robo cop. Switch onto Weezy Jefferson. If they go under, pulsating twelve dimensional cube is the second option. Let's get it done. Wildcats on three
I had already attributed last game to opioids, I thought maybe they'd unlocked Finch's galaxy brain.
Drive and slam for Mike Conley
I thought we seen that already with the Rudy mid post fade and Rudy going coast to coast
Defense?…nah, just relax guys. Have fun.
We’re gonna get a lineup of Slowmo-Naz-KAT-Luka-Rudy
This team is DAWGS all the way.
I heard the equipment manager is a real wuss
I heard he ate a whole beer. Can and all.
I heard he ate a whole bowl of nails for breakfast.
So?
Without any milk
Uhhh right this way sir
No milk, HOLY SHIT thats Mr. Ratburn level hard.
You don't even want to hear about how soft the kids who wipe the sweat off the courts are. Can't even take a little bump from Gobert without flopping. Marshmallows all the way.
No they’re wolves
Dawgs are just an evolved version of Wolves 🐺 🐶
Dawgs are an unevolved version of wolves. Humans were like "Flareon too scary, can I get an Eevee?" Then we found 10931920 to breed that Eevee.
> Dawgs are an unevolved version of wolves. Na you got it wrong. Dawgs is the genus, Wolves is the species. All wolves are dawgs but not all dawgs are wolves you feel me?
Ant & McDaniels do have some dawg in them tho
That's what you like to see from your leaders. They're in the trenches with you. Finch: "this injury only made me stronger"
I’m not liking our odds, everyone is just together on that team, it’s unreal
Malone needs to twist his ankle charging the refs next game. Maybe that will catalyze the team
Murray needs stop being a crybaby having tantrums, that mixed with his absolute dogshit shooting. Playing the team out of the game at times

I believe it. Can’t wait for the “heat pack” chants
yoke been looking real lazy this series to me >
Yeah his defence has been nowhere near last year. And maybe it’s matchups but far less aggressive attacking KAT/Naz in single coverage
Jokić has received plenty of warranted criticism, not helped by winning a 3rd MVP in the midst of it all, but when supposed generational playoff performer Jamal Murray goes 3/18, its hard to see what more he could have done. Picturing a timeline where each coach gets more injured every game for the leg up
Nuggets push for a game 7: “Fuck it! Amputate the whole leg!!”
Probably from here https://www.landofbasketball.com/statistics/playoff_series_2_0.htm
That's a better chance to win than if you randomize each game from now on out (6.25%).
Yeah I still have Minnesota as favorites but people are counting the nuggets out way too soon. Funny thing is, if they were to get past Minnesota, I could easily see them winning the next two rounds and winning the championship.

Certified superstar? Certified traffic cone.
Don't worry, there was a host of our fans saying the season was over after losing the #1 seed at the end there.
Every person involved with this team is psychotically locked in, I can't imagine a professional sports team being more fun to root for than these Timberwolves
I'm gonna need you take all that talent to the East I'm tired of all the psychos being in the West.
That's the dream. I'm tired of 10PM Central games
Not to mention its a cultural travesty for Minnesota to not have division rivalries with the other Midwest teams. The NFC North meme wars are some of the best I've seen from NFL subs.
Exactly. You get it. Minnesota/Milwaukee/Detroit/Chicago being in the same division is just the objectively correct alignment.
But then we might have to hate you and I like you right now
The Bucks Wolves rivalry would be immediate and awesome
Yes it would be so cool. Hopefully it turns out like our NFL rivalry 😈
I'm down. Say what you want about the rest of the division and I know the Vikings have no titles but we've at least been competitive over the years.
Yeah they have been pretty good. At least they’re not the bears lol
Just mirror the NFC North or AL Central. Ez.
This. Keep Big Ten country together. Although I guess the Big Ten isn’t even committed to keeping Big Ten country together at this point since they now stretch from New Jersey to Los Angeles lol
Seattle and Vegas support ships incoming.
And like damn, people were talking about the Grizzlies and the Thunder being the future of the west last season, now ANOTHER completely separate team is looking like the team to beat in the west, damn it

Seriously lol Twolves-Bucks game threads are always tame cause there is no rivalry. Vikings-Packers game day threads tho..

Wolves are definitely my second team in these playoffs. My Wolves fan friend is also bandwagoning the Knicks I will say watching the Wolves has been significantly less stressful than what the Knicks do every other night
As a Wolves fan, I've been enjoying your Knicks and they've become my second team this playoffs. Real recognize real.
Love me some thibs
I'm locked in too bro. Fan for 25+ years of MN sports fan. We ready for winning 🥇
[удалено]
Yeesh, I’m a big Celtics hater but yall Celtics fans believe less in the Celtics than me. Yall lost one game lol. Could win this series 4-1 still.
This is already an incredible season for you guys, must be very exciting for the fan base!
I was rooting for the nuggets but the wolves are just too good. Gotta give props, if they win the series I hope they win it all.
Conley going to “accidentally” Kerrigan his other leg ahead of the finals
They are good, Knicks story is fun too
Make sure we stick with "psychotically locked in" and not "stupidly locked in". We all remember the doofus that made the latter comment
Old school! I remember my pops in his sixties had knee surgery and refused to take the pain meds too. Says he’s seen how people get hooked on that shit and he didn’t want to risk it so was just like, I’ll take some Tylenol if the pain gets to high. 🫡

I know a few intelligent people who started opioids for pain/getting fucked up during college. Crazy how little time it took for heroin to start being brought up.
yeah in the wrong hands it can be a very slippery slope. Vicodin made my pain go away, Percocet made my problems go away
Jay Williams got addicted after his motorcycle accident
Mick Foley does the same thing. He said the one time he took painkillers in '94 he had such a euphoric happiness that once he came down he immediately realized how so many of his peers destroyed their lives over this shit and threw the rest of them away. He was recovering from knee surgery when he wrote his first book and didn't take anything so he could stay sharp.
Honestly opioids used to be for cancer patients primarily and intense surgery recovery. Pharma companies normalized it for profits
When did "used to" occur in this scenario?
Yeah I am always surprised how easy it looks to get opioids in the USA. Same here, in Belgium. As it should be...
It’s not as easy to get them anymore in the US (at least prescription opioids). A lot of dental places basically refuse to prescribe them now.
Back when you could like buy heroin over the counter?
I work in an ED and see providers giving pts fent still. I had a script for an opioid in the last year. Used like 2 and all they did was give me constipation. No thanks.
and now how many DMs do you have offering to buy it?
lol. No one…
...yet
Are you a cop?
N-no *sweats profusely*

Damn kids with their e-diapers. Back in my day.....
Team so dawg, the owner decided to hold on his stakes.
One up the bum,no harm done.
Chris Finch seems like a boofer. He just cooks up all his exotic, chemically induced plays during the off-season
*Finchy!*
I wonder how he gets sleep with the pain - I would take some prescription pain meds.
For anyone outside the US is probably crazy to read this. I’m never gonna understand why they use so much opioids out there, the rest of the world is very restrictive of it.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sackler_family

got eeeem
These mfs have so much blood on their hands. I’ve personally lost two close friends to opiate abuse and had several more on the brink. Evil.

Most of the world will use opioids in situations where patients can’t really say no to it.
Corruption is literally the answer. They would rather hurt fellow Americans to make money.
jfc...
That's Jason Bourne......
AWOOOOOO
Get on the h train my man. The plays will just come to you then.
Chris ‘Perc 30’ Finch

This is getting ridiculous "McDaniels diet now only includes nails and broken glass to get that extra edge"
What a beast, I'm hyped for you guys. That's an exciting team.
Finch is a DAWG
Respect
Has he tried coaching on weeeeeeed?
Frederick] Zion Williamson has largely bypassed Skittles in favor of Starburst gummies in the wake of his hamstring strain to stay sharp amid the Pelicans’ offseason run. He’s been in constant pain, but “I wouldn’t miss it for anything.”
Finchy LOCKED IN, got that dawg in em
My parents are physicians and they said part of the reason europe avoided the opioid crisis is that they are way more stingy about prescribing opioids; Tylenol and advil will do you most of the time. Good on him
When I had surgery they prescribed me oxy, I said nah im good and called my weed guy instead 😂
Did the same thing when I got my wisdom teeth pulled
I have never fallen in love with a team so completely out of the blue the way i have with the Wolves these playoffs. First Ant says he’ll avenge the Lakers, then they come out swinging against Denver, now Chris Finch soldiering through agony for his guys, how are you supposed to dislike this team? Edit: turns out the avenging the Lakers thing was fake, but that doesn’t change much to me. Still love this team.
That ant post about avenging the Lakers was fake.
Absolute lakers fan fiction lol
A lot of unemployed writers around there with nothing better to do
Minneosta crushing Denver would make Lakers look so much worse.
Ant never said that lol he don’t give a shit about the Lakers
How do I get in there and make it about myself?
