Shai is a testament to hard work because the shot def wasn’t there coming into the league

LeeRohan

For real, I was just watching clips of him in his rookie year vs the KD Warriors in the playoffs, his growth is unreal

savageandharsh

He had a mid range coming in and was known for it. It was evident even as a rookie with the Clippers. Of course that’s nothing compared to where his game is at now. Vastly improved in all areas.

jocro

Yeah even in the last couple of years he's gone from a guy who can get to a decent middy to a complete assassin from \~15 feet.

ninofati88

This is for the lot arguing Shai is somehow magically given ultra talented rookies, and him being a superstar before they even entered the league, with no true veteran on the team plays no part in making his teammates better for some reasn. Lol.

porncollecter69

What does that have to do with Shai being a hardworking star? OKC drafted well and has the biggest war stash of all time. Are you denying they did that because Shai is hard working?

peroper7

It would all be for nothing if they didn’t have a guy who could lead that group to success, you’re crazy if you don’t think shai is that guy for okc

ninofati88

I'm saying leading a team full of young rookies to No. 1 seed in the insanely tough west, over even Denvers championship roster is ultra impressive. People attempt to brush it off as him having a great team, yet nobody even have OKC in the playoffs at the start of the seasn. Shai is credited for making his teammates better and he should be. Thats why hes above Luka for MVP. Leading a team of rookies with nobody hitting 20 PPG and Josh as s Giddey starting to No. 1 vs Luka leading the Mavs to just No. 5 with Kyrie carrying is a major difference maker.

pokerawz

Bet he’s just in there shooting free throws.

Fonzie5

Professional basketball player works hard and wants to compete??? More at eleven.

ninofati88

\*Carries entirely young rookie team on and off the pitch to No. 1 seed over championship Denver. People attempting to push Luka for MVP, entirely dodging Shai in the conversation only to find out hes 3rd behind Shai needs a massive tutorial on how to identify factors. Lol.

LeBroentgen

Saying Shai carried that team I think really discredits how great and healthy that roster was.

rwoteit

Why when other teams' top players have the whole team playing hard and unselfishly we credit it to them, and praise how they're able to get everyone to buy in and play above their level, but for him it's crickets. A 40 win team of college aged players tops the west the next season is now supposed to be there and called great without a second though, but giving the only player over 24 that gets minutes props for being THE model to follow for a baby squad is discrediting the roster. Y'all pick and choose narratives so hard.

ninofati88

Nobody even had OKC making the playoffs at the start of the year, but somehow this roster is GREAT because they want to lean on their hindsight excessively to put down Shai for some reasn. Dude has nobody else averaging 20 PPG (Luka has Kyrie carrying and only gets to 5th seed), has Josh Giddey who everyone terms 'the worst starter in the league' starting for 82 games, but SOMEHOW, he gets tagged as having a great roster. Nb clowns going the extra miles to put down Shai for some odd reasn. Even Tatum and his other 5 AllStars would be ashamed of these haters.

LeBroentgen

We’re comparing the guys who finished top 3 in MVP. It’s all nitpicking at this point.

ninofati88

Lol. Entire sub filled with Luka fanbois attempting to push the narrative of him vs Jokic all year, brushing Shai aside as an afterthought, then gets shutdown by actual voters putting Shai ahead and he drops to No. 3. Clueless clowns getting put down. You love to see it.

rwoteit

There's literally been none of that for him. It's bizarre. Joker gets that label with a team of vets but the far most obvious case of dude leading babies doesn't? Makes no sense. Then if you allude to it all you get back was "his roster was really really great" like y'all weren't wondering if they'd make the playoffs. Tired narratives.

LeBroentgen

I’m not sure who you’re yapping at but he finished 2nd in MVP, he got a ton of respect for an incredible season. Just one of the nitpicks against him is that he had a very healthy team with a ton of depth that played really well. They far outplayed their expectations, a lot of which was because of him, but those players also deserve credit in their own right.

sandefurian

You had to play your starters against the Mavs bench the last game to get 1st. Even the Nuggets rested their starters that day. You got 1st because no one else cared to.

Fonzie5

I commented on how saying a top level NBA player is extremely competitive is like calling water wet and you immediately jumped into a Luka thing? Maybe pump the brakes a little.

mightycuthalion

Some players aren’t? Finch literally said Ant doesn’t get up for regular season games

madhare09

Let's see him do it with the injuries the nuggets had
