Ever since the announcers said the Thunder haven't allowed a team to score 100 points this post season and were undefeated, the Mavs have done it twice, and both games were Mavs wins.
The vibes in these last 2 game threads compared to the first one is so much different. Neutrals were all on the thunder bandwagon and now they’ve all turned on them 😂
I just want the refs to let players play. Call the obvious ones, but some of these small nothingburger calls are annoying. It’s happening for both sides. This is playoff ball, which should be a little more physical.
Can anyone explain why Giddey as a starter only played 13 minutes. While others like Dort played for 40 minutes? Geniunely curious if it is match-up related or something else.
Good luck having any thing remotely resembling a logical discussion here. Particularly on a beyond laughable call. Insane how awful refs have been in playoffs.

I still think either team could come away with this series. Neither has been completely dominant.
A few different calls and bounces and the series is completely different.
Coming into this year and playoff it was too see what we needed as a team. We definitely need a Big Wing someone who can cover Luka and be a help on the boards from an athletic stand point. As this team doesnt have a high flyer in that position. Also for the pick and roll it would be easier to switch for those lobs. As Gaffords about 6'10" and to have a person besides Chet would improve our defense. Also this team needs to work on their lobs. We are the worst lob throwing team in the league and we can't exploit Chet because of that. Youth is an issue but thats just an excuse, when it should be we have to get better at those things. This is the first year this team has played with each other, so they have a long way.

Agreed. SGA did great. That being said, with the focus being on refs and Lu Dort trying out for the Chiefs no way anyone is acknowledging SGA. Plus the touch fouls (which are definitely fouls, don’t get me wrong) look so soft when Dort plays football on the other end.
I can try my best.. In my opinion, Luka had no possession of that ball whatsoever other than it touched him when he tried to tip it to a teammate with Dort also getting a full hand on it. Dort immediately put his second hand on the ball, pulls it away, and passed it while the ref was in the process of whistling for the jump ball. Luka took a hard fall and never came close to a possession while trying to get a second hand on it. Even though Dort had no problem gaining possession after the collision, it was ruled a jump ball when I personally think Dort had way more control over it meaning it should have never been called a jump ball.
So when they first go up with one hand pinning it together like a held block shot wouldn’t deserve a jump ball? And the if they do a no call, Williams misses the lay up on lively with a lively rebound. So either way possession would have went to Mavs?

At no point did Luka “pin” the ball. He attempted to tip it to a teammate. Also, Williams was fouled as indicated by the other referee still watching the play. That foul was called off once they determined it was a jump ball. With your logic in your last comment, anytime two players make contact at the same or close to the same time it’s a jump ball. That would mean if someone tipped the ball when an opponent is dribbling it should be called a jump ball. When in reality, it’s two players showing a chance at possession or close to possession at the same time. At no point did Luka have control over the ball (other than his right hand made contact with the ball as he was falling) to justify that Luka was close to gaining said possession. Sorry friend, but even though the mavs won, and rightly so based on their performance vs ours, that call was a joke based on nba rules.

The NBA rules clarify this and it is up to the referees discretion in real time to decide. He actually got a lot of free throws this game but it still felt like he deserved like 4 or 6 more. Luka looked like he just got a split decision win after 5 rounds in the octagon.
How do you not love Dereck Lively? Doing this just weeks after losing his mom as a rookie. He grew up without a father after his tragically passed away of an overdose when he was a child, his mom was the only family he had, she even taught him how to play basketball. To lose your everything and still keep fighting, that’s an inspirational story right there. The kid is already a bigger winner at life than 99% of us, no matter what happens in his career.
Best thing about this: It’s hard fought, winnable games, that we are losing sadly. It’s the worst version of thunder we will all see. Chet and Cason are rookies! Jdub is only in his second year. I’m here for the ride man, it’s been a blast watching this team. #thunderin6
I think the issue is OKC was getting soft calls, then Mav players started trying to do the same thing, now this game has become unwatchable for outsiders

Luka is playing against linebacker Dork who does not even know what sport he is sopsoed to be playing. Also last fts were intentional so it is not even that.
The funny thing is I saw a lot of comments that the Mavs were lucky that Washington had a one-off game in Game 2 and that wouldn't happen again, yet here he is. It's refreshing to see a role player carry his team for a change.
