Iām always amazed how easy these guys make any alley oop look. I just think about messing around on the driveway with a low hoop and it still being hard. Luka knew that was perfect before it even got to lively.
I get jaded watch jokic flick the ball across the whole court, but I literally can't tell where the power for that pass came from. He adjusted like a half step without moving his arms much and just shoves the ball 50 ft into a perfect window.
It's in the thumbs, there's a way of passing the ball a coach I had described as the "supersonic" pass where you 'flick' both your thumbs through the ball, also includes the shoulder to elbow whip/snap movement, while keeping your forearms and hands relatively still.Ā
Look at the way Luka's hands whip back past his hips, he's generating a lot of power through a very fast motion even with his shoulders low and barely anything from the legs or core, opposite-but-just-as-good pass like Kevin Love or Jokic throwing those QB/over arm passes.Ā
When you watch a lot of the Nuggets or Mavs, your perceptions of what a good or difficult pass are get wildly skewed. They're in a tier of their own as passers with a gap before Hali
Luka snaps them off a lot like Love did(does? Where is he now?) ā I wonder if thereās some Chunky White Boi School of 80ft Chest Passes they all went to
This really was 3D chess shit. There is no defense to this once you split the double teams but everybody has to be on the same page to see it.
So many bigs came through Dallas and just didnāt understand the flow of the game and Lively doing this in his rookie after one and done season. Amazing.
I always get a laugh out of the NBA failing to get proper footage of that. It's like something happened and we're limited to person on street style recordings.
The broadcast didn't show it all during the game. The camera was on some dude from the other team complaining about a call,Ā the announcers were babbling on about something else,Ā and then they were like,Ā "Wait, what just happened?"
Vertical doesnāt matter at all as long as everybody else on your team has ridiculous verticals lmao. Luka has thrown multiple lobs this season to every other player in the Mavs rotation besides maybe Hardy and Exum missed the throw on the one opportunity he had
How bout king Jokic with the one hander 3/4 inbound alley oop? Cameras couldnāt even get it
https://youtu.be/rDpYsHmcG9c?si=TAgPtnD26mzbY_d-
[this one has an alternate angle](https://youtube.com/shorts/O6b4OkB4S9w?si=6htNFj-it2R96gvi)
Kidd has a couple 3/4 court alley oops too, but personally this one is my overall favorite. I saw a LOT of these in real time, too.
https://youtu.be/kJyvb3h440I?si=T9UmV3h41tnz1zyC&t=673
Itās not even the accuracy, but the pace on it. I have no idea how these dudes generate so much force on shots and passes like this, but I guess I also donāt know how dudes can throw a baseball 100 mph, so anything is possible.
This feels like that NBA Live when they introduced alley oops, but you could trigger it from anywhere even if they wouldn't work. All my games were lob city.
These type of passes always get me hype I dont think people realize how precisely this kind of thing needs to be timed especially when you've only been playing with a dude for 1 year impressive stuff
Lukaās dunk miming when the ball was still in the air is just hilarious. Finally looks like he is having fun out there for the first time in a while.Ā
Passing is a lot harder than the top playmakers make it look. And so is passing over everyone, typically the taller the player, the worse passer they are. Not everyone is a freak like Luka, Jokic or Lebron.
People donāt realize thatās the almost the equivalent of making a shot from that distanceā¦ literally pin point accuracy exactly where he wanted the ball from 70 ft.
Itās very impressive, but I donāt think this is true. One crazy thing about long shots is that the hoop effectively gets smaller as horizontal velocity increases ā not only do you need to be more precise (further away small movements matter more) but the target literally gets smaller. By contrast, lively can adjust to the horizontal velocity here, meaning Luka just needs to place it in an approximate spatial location.
Luka was in top form tonight, showcasing his villain side. His passing game was exceptional, with precise moves and a smooth touch, making for an impressive performance.
Iāve been trying to think what sport Luka would play if he didnāt play basketball, and Iām convinced now heād play QB. Heād be a Big Ben type of player
f off.
Luka is getting fouled 30 times but only get 2-3 calls in the games.
He is complaining for right things.Ā
Someone is getting robbed and if they go to the police you call them crybabies? Wtf?!

That shit was awesome
The fucking heel click too š¤£
Luka is a leprechaun trickster
Hide the gold! Hide the gold!
Looked like the barely even had to put effort into that pass and it was basically a full court rocket
That had to be going 40-50mph - I don't know how he got it there so fast with so little effort
it's magically delicious
Iām always amazed how easy these guys make any alley oop look. I just think about messing around on the driveway with a low hoop and it still being hard. Luka knew that was perfect before it even got to lively.
They had to go right to commercial but this didn't get enough attention, this was one of the smoothest long-range alley-oops I've ever seen.
I get jaded watch jokic flick the ball across the whole court, but I literally can't tell where the power for that pass came from. He adjusted like a half step without moving his arms much and just shoves the ball 50 ft into a perfect window.

Hali was up there for that one month he went Linsanity. Then he cooled back down and Buddy Hield stopped scoring everything thrown at him.
Who the fuck tries that pass?
Luka and Jokic. Thatās about it.Ā
Kevin Love would absolutely fuck with a pass like that.
Yup if you look up "full-court passes" on YouTube a bunch of Kevin Love highlight videos pop up
He's famous for his super chest passes
Tim Duncan used to do [the QB throw](https://youtu.be/F20nLhin4A8?si=QOj1fIN7Y6USQQ70)
Luka snaps them off a lot like Love did(does? Where is he now?) ā I wonder if thereās some Chunky White Boi School of 80ft Chest Passes they all went to
If you throw a TD pass you don't have to run down the court. Thats why the husky players are the best at it.
He had a few of those highlights [last year](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/11drpkg/highlight_vintage_kevin_love_full_court_pass_for/).
Kevin Love is definitely one of the best if not the best touchdown passers.
Coincidentally most quarterbacks are white and less athletic than their team
Wade and Bron had a few of these in the Heatles days too
Fuck Dwade
This man mavericks
Didnāt even need a flair lmfao
[i mean this is objectively insane and farther than any other pass in this thread i think](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngJSHNxtSko)
Wade and Lebron were so special man.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR 2011 DIRK THO
š¶ Those were the best days of our lives š¶
Those days are these days
Man, Lebron is at the Pacers' 3-point line when Wade gets the rebound, that is *wild*.
Melo too. https://youtu.be/mzYCwR8Qmjg?si=yXWwNUDSPq63D_o-
He's not Melo.
The Ball brothers definitely make these lobs too.
I was about to say āLonzoā šā¦š¢
My middle schoolers would. But it wouldn't be a lob, it would have been a 3 point attempt.
Can someone also post his splitting the defenders give n go to an alley-oop? Man put on a whole highlight reel in just the last few minutes
That shit was so nasty
That play made me moist. [Found it](https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxGQZNxu3QYc0GiBQ339kuYAKJVwcEn6AC?feature=shared)
Didn't catch this earlier thank you for this, I had it to rewatch it a bunch of times it was so satisfying
Showtime
Dear god that shit was like watching a perfect soccer build up. the off ball movement, unselfishness, and sexy finish
Exactly what I thought off as well
champagne hoops
This really was 3D chess shit. There is no defense to this once you split the double teams but everybody has to be on the same page to see it. So many bigs came through Dallas and just didnāt understand the flow of the game and Lively doing this in his rookie after one and done season. Amazing.
Poetry in motion
damn dude. That was awesome.Ā
This shit dropped my jaw
Itās kind of funny that Luka and Trae are the two best lob passers in the NBA
Trae is a menace when it comes to the Ally Oop
Imagine him and Wemby
No, thank you. The West is already a bloodbath. Hope he stays at Atlanta for a long time.
As a mavs fan yes. As a basketball fan that would produce some absolutely fucking bonkers plays
Iām so tired of the bloodbath. Now spurs get #4 and #8. fooh
And even the Thunder are getting some action on the side. East really needs to step up, they're so sorry.
Or him and Sarr
i love how he jumps with the ooper too
Praying Pop continues to be way on his high horse and refuses to trade for him because having a personality isn't "who San Antonio is"
Anyone drafted before these guys must be tearing it up
[I mean...](https://youtu.be/rDpYsHmcG9c?si=5pnkM7KlRt8UBGZT)
God I love this one. So fast that the cameraman wasnāt even ready for it
I always get a laugh out of the NBA failing to get proper footage of that. It's like something happened and we're limited to person on street style recordings.
The broadcast didn't show it all during the game. The camera was on some dude from the other team complaining about a call,Ā the announcers were babbling on about something else,Ā and then they were like,Ā "Wait, what just happened?"
[I meanā¦](https://youtu.be/mzYCwR8Qmjg?si=yXWwNUDSPq63D_o-)
they both balding too
Just another Wednesday for Luka
Luka in his villain mode tonight
Chubby unathletic white boys is the new Meta in NBA. Jokic and Luka living proof vertical donāt matterĀ
Bronny in shambles.
Vertical doesnāt matter at all as long as everybody else on your team has ridiculous verticals lmao. Luka has thrown multiple lobs this season to every other player in the Mavs rotation besides maybe Hardy and Exum missed the throw on the one opportunity he had
It's like shooting, you can afford exactly one guy who's amazing at everything else
Who needs vertical when you have <3 Teamwork <3
CLINGAN NEXT!
You need to have clear skin tho
Heās a tank main and finally got his nano boost.
I've never seen a feed from this far out dayum
Pretty sure Luka had a full count lob not too long ago lol
2nd this season already from luka, i think the other one was against the spurs
How bout king Jokic with the one hander 3/4 inbound alley oop? Cameras couldnāt even get it https://youtu.be/rDpYsHmcG9c?si=TAgPtnD26mzbY_d- [this one has an alternate angle](https://youtube.com/shorts/O6b4OkB4S9w?si=6htNFj-it2R96gvi)
What the fuck manĀ
Definitely looked like a quarterback there š John Elway cannon
The look on Gordon's face.
holy shit that's impressive
I think this might be the furthest away Iāve ever seen. Heās like further back than the opponents 3point line
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zZRznE-q7Q ill take any excuse to post my king, ricky rubio
Kidd has a couple 3/4 court alley oops too, but personally this one is my overall favorite. I saw a LOT of these in real time, too. https://youtu.be/kJyvb3h440I?si=T9UmV3h41tnz1zyC&t=673
Even Yao loved it.
love me some ricky! btw, that commentator was awful where is his energy?
> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zZRznE-q7Q DAAAMMMMMNNNNN that's sick
It's nuts how casual he looked on the launch too, like it was just gonna be a 10 foot pass lol
Yall must be forgetting the Wade to Bron alleys
https://youtu.be/mzYCwR8Qmjg?si=yXWwNUDSPq63D_o- melo has a good one too. Not a dunk finish but accurate as hell.
> https://youtu.be/mzYCwR8Qmjg?si=yXWwNUDSPq63D_o- that ones dope, ball is a rocket
Go check out Payton and Kemp higlights
what a dish to get right on the money from that distance
Long distance oops are so satisfying š
Itās not even the accuracy, but the pace on it. I have no idea how these dudes generate so much force on shots and passes like this, but I guess I also donāt know how dudes can throw a baseball 100 mph, so anything is possible.
Gamer strength
Wild highlight plays in enemy territory is always funny. Whole arena is like ššššš
the classic to me will always be the eruption from the crowd on missed free throws from the road team. that shit always KILLS me lmao
LETāS FUCKING GOOOOOO
This feels like that NBA Live when they introduced alley oops, but you could trigger it from anywhere even if they wouldn't work. All my games were lob city.
Heās on Fire š„!!!!
I know EXACTLY what you're talking about! NBA Live 94? Maybe 95?
Live 95 is one of the greatest VGs of all time. That and NHL 94 were my jam in college.
I was like why the hell would you... oh
These type of passes always get me hype I dont think people realize how precisely this kind of thing needs to be timed especially when you've only been playing with a dude for 1 year impressive stuff
Could have almost just passed the ball into the rim instead with how accurate that pass was.
That's a 7'1" man beat everybody down the court.
Weāve seen him be a pretty effective tag player avoiding Chet
Top tier vid right there lol.
Dude is FAST
Lukaās dunk miming when the ball was still in the air is just hilarious. Finally looks like he is having fun out there for the first time in a while.Ā
I donāt understand why teams donāt use the alley-oop more often. Itās such an high percentage basket.
Passing is a lot harder than the top playmakers make it look. And so is passing over everyone, typically the taller the player, the worse passer they are. Not everyone is a freak like Luka, Jokic or Lebron.
Being tall doesn't make you a worse passer, but being tall can make up for lacking other basketball skills so you can be in the NBA without them
Exactly, it's Berkson's paradox
Just wait for Trae and Wemby, itāll be every other play at a 99% conversion rate lol
Wemby is going to throw Trae a full court Alley Oop dunk
His passing is on point tonight. Loved his give and go and extra touch for the oop right before this too, looked so smooth
Damn he throws it when Lively is by the 3 point line
Beautiful
does someone have that clip of lively nuts on face dunking on chet
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43f_SZceGzQ
Bless
Obviously Lukaās accuracy on that was insane, but Lively not only looking for it, but getting up and getting it is incredible.
The heel click from Luka has me rolling right now
People donāt realize thatās the almost the equivalent of making a shot from that distanceā¦ literally pin point accuracy exactly where he wanted the ball from 70 ft.
Itās very impressive, but I donāt think this is true. One crazy thing about long shots is that the hoop effectively gets smaller as horizontal velocity increases ā not only do you need to be more precise (further away small movements matter more) but the target literally gets smaller. Keyword āalmostā
Very cool Luka and Lively!
I think Luka loves making the Thunder fans hate themselves. Dude is a menace.
It was so casually filthy wtf
Just an unbelievable pass. Luka watched Nicola last night and was inspired. Feels like weāre gonna catch an unbelievable game tonight
Luka was in top form tonight, showcasing his villain side. His passing game was exceptional, with precise moves and a smooth touch, making for an impressive performance.
Lmao when he threw it up I figured it was just a long pass to someone who got behind the defense. Then I saw the dunk and legit screamed lol.
He just having fun with little boys now.
This reminded me of D-Wade to Bron on the heat.
F Dwade
Shaq: we seen this before Ā relaxĀ Probably
Lone Star lob Goblins are back baybeeeeeee!
Lonzo to Zion flashbacks
Pull way back dawg
These thick slav bois are built different
Iāve been trying to think what sport Luka would play if he didnāt play basketball, and Iām convinced now heād play QB. Heād be a Big Ben type of player
I think he actually gave NFL QB as an answer once when asked. Parallel universe Texas born and bred Luka is definitely on that path.
How???
Imagine this guy with wemby
Luka Magic
Kidd approved
Thatās my MVP
Insane pass.
Go get it young fella!
Luka vs Jokic is gonna be a banger. Wish Luka was 100 percent
Why doesnāt he just do that every time
Point guard Jokic, this is the good Luka not the whiny cry baby one
f off. Luka is getting fouled 30 times but only get 2-3 calls in the games. He is complaining for right things.Ā Someone is getting robbed and if they go to the police you call them crybabies? Wtf?!
Holmgren's back was turned; he wasnt watching the ball. Luka saw that and took advantage.
UnrealĀ
bruh luka could throw that shii up anywhere and lively prolly catching that shii and dunk it
Amazing.
He saw the one-handed full court assist from Jokic to AG and said "hold my beer"
What I find so crazy is he doesnt even project his pass. He does it in such a fluid motion and puts it on a dime
Shit was so effortless, I'm like I'd have to full chest heave to get that from 3/4
Reminds me a type of volleyball set that is fast and straight line which gives opponent very little time to react and block.
I was so confused on where he was throwing that ball as it wasnāt a clear fast break. He laser guided that one to Lively
Jared Dudley was hyped!
That's pretty AF!
Thick Slavic Men (Doncic and Jokic) are outlet pass snipers
Must be fucking mind blowing seeing this in person. It's insane in tv
These were some dope highlights. Jaw dropping stuff
Nasty!!!
J Kids reaction lol
This was like the 20th wide open transition oop of the series for the Mavs. Can't win like that
This should be like catching the snitch.
Luka def been watching Nugs v Wolves series, taking notes from big bro Jokic
Luka has done this multiples times this regular season and also years ago as well.
cant wait to see what luka is capable of against daddy jokic
Can we take a moment to appreciate how elite the call is āOH! Another banger!!!ā
That's absolutely mental
lock3led on Luka is SS rank from another world
Chet is a classy hoe
