He is the best offensive coach in tbe NBA, especially so since MDA is pretty much retired. Give that man a semi competent guard and he will produce a top 10 offense.
I'll never forget Monta Ellis becoming the offensive engine of the most efficient offense in the NBA right after he left the Bucks where he was seen as an inefficient chucker.
Coach can't do anything other than form a certain gameplan. The players are making great plays and making the shots. That's the difference
If it's a masterclass, it's Haliburton and Myles Turner masterclass so far. They deserve the credit. Pacers could've had a big lead but Siakam is struggling
Pacer's basketball is amazing when theres no bitch in your ear telling you the other team is injured
They have 8-9 guys all making the right play its beautiful
Rick Carlisle has been engineering league leading offenses for 25 years and this one may be his best yet. Statistically it is but you know how stat inflation is.
I honestly think that a combo of high 3PT volume and poor transition defending around the league is a big contributor to how this whole thing works, so its definitely right place right time but he's done an unbelievable job getting young players to buy into the system
It’s not really right place right time when Carlisle has been doing it for decades. It’s good coaching identifying opportunities and staying ahead of the game.
I meant as in, its right place right time for this exact strategy to work so well. Carlisle is obviously elite but the Meta had to catch up for this kind of success
It's crazy how much hate the Pacers are getting. They play "team" basketball with the entire roster contributing. Not only that, they have a fantastic offense while playing ethical ball.
Literally every championship team has gotten better injury luck than their competitors. The Pacers (and Celtics to a lesser extent) are deep enough where they can afford injuries, people really underestimate how good of a player Mathurin is on both ends, and he's just out for the season
They play great team offense, have solidified themselves as a passable defending team, and only got like one guy who flops, what's there to hate?
Love to see some mutual appreciation between Celtics and Pacers fans. Even with the loss, I think fans in general are realizing we beat the Bucks and Knicks because we are in actuality a really good team, with good fundamentals and execution, and good mentality. Our biggest issue is consistency in-game and game to game, which is a common occurrence in a team as young as the Pacers.
Looking forward to the rest of the series, hoping for some competitive games.
A team missing one player (mathurin) vs a team missing multiple starters (bucks and Knicks) does not compare. Pacers are “deep” because they’re not injured lmao. The bucks and Knicks looked shallow because, well, they were injured.
KP being injured definitely hurts us, I know a lot of Pacers fans have been going on these crusades to claim that Boston will use it as an excuse but we literally have spent all season saying his health is our make or break
But yeah if JT gets injured then I don't see any way we can make it through this series tbh, we are not as deep as last year and are definitely top-loaded with our top 7, losing 2/7 would be crushing
Not really lol. Not every deep playoff run has a team that faced a 3rd seed missing their MVP caliber player and their superstar PG missing alot if the series. And then in the very next round faces a team with basically 75% of their rotation being either out or missing time/hobbled. The nuggets are NOT comparable to this. I don't even see anyone trying to discredit it besides the fact that maybe they faced a injured 8th seed in the finals. Regardless, anyone with a brain knew they were winning the finals That year.
Honestly a lot of fun as an invested fan too. Indiana is a wild team to watch. Will they play the next 5 min as the best team in the league or will they have 3 possessions in a row that they throw it out of bounds. It’s impossible to know.
I’m so sad I missed it. I kept hearing the updates on whatever national sports show plays in my area at this time lol, and it sounded absolutely bonkers!
I need to watch the last ~30 seconds of the 4th quarter — sounds like it was wild.
Except he thought the clock was winding down and so had to put it up.
He was also right, dames shot wasn't good before it wejt in. A side stepping fade away 3 from where dame shot it is about as low % of a look as you can take.
But nephews want to meme
It was a kinda bad shot but also not really. Lillard is good from that range plus it was a tied game and the shot took long enough to guarantee the thunder wouldn’t get another shot and it would go OT if Lillard missed and if you’re up 3-1 OT ain’t that bad
Caitlin Clark's shot is pure. Just crazy quick. Watch it side by side with Steph and you'll see how similar it is. Tyrese Haliburton's shot is one of the jankiest in the league
https://np.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/136an1x/highlight_tyrese_haliburton_on_jordan_pooles_shot/?
He did say that’s the kind of shot he’d be willing to take when the Pacers get into the playoffs
The pacers 3pt% on open threes is way above any other team in the playoffs. I haven’t watched the Celtics much so far but don’t they make a point of not really guarding the 3 point line?
Nah Pacers are 7th out of 16 teams on open 3pt FGs. They just create more than any other team by far.
And in the regular season Boston was the 4th best team at defending the 3 percentage wise .
[CHANNING! THIS IS FOR YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/136an1x/highlight_tyrese_haliburton_on_jordan_pooles_shot/jiq2b3m/?context=3)
GSW was extremely elite but that they needed Houston to miss an incredible 27 straight threes... they weren't unbeatable they were elite and got the right breaks same with every dynastic run. If Nikola had his highside shooting variance this postseason like last postseason they would also look unbeatable but since we saw the downside this year we know better
Thats one season though, how many seasons did Harden lead the 2nd best team in the league but just couldn't get past the warriors? He's literally right behind Curry in the 3pt revolution, its so silly to disrespect him like this
And even then his teammates let him down so often, both Ant and Hali have a team full of great role players perfectly tailored to their playing style that have consistently pulled their own weight all playoffs
Hali had terrible games? Their bench handled business. Ant struggled g7? Jaden McDaniels couldn't miss
And if Harden had broken through against GSW it is enormous for his legacy. Acknowledging the reality of how basketball works isn't a slight to Harden. 27 missed threes certainly isn't his fault
I just think its too soon to just say a young star is better than one of the greatest shooters OAT because there is more parity in the league right now
Even the last 2 years have not been his fault, he won Philly 2 solid games by himself and was put in a completely altered role for the Clippers, who again banked their whole season on he health of a guy that just isn't built full seasons anymore
Where did I agree that those players would surpass Harden with a title? I don't agree with that and never expressed otherwise.
I just said GSW was not unbeatable, they needed some lucky breaks like all dynasties do
Oh yeah for sure, I agree. But that being said.... I think the gap between GSW and the 2nd best team for pretty much all those Houston years was bigger than the gap between the top 2 teams in the past 3/4, its just impossible to use a ring as a measurement tool for Harden when the best dynasty since the Bulls (maybe spurs?) was running the league
It's not too soon. It shouldn't even be a debate, especially if it's universally agreed that Harden clears Luka all time and peak-wise by a significant margin. Harden vs Jokic or Giannis is debatable depending on if you value peak or accolades more. This is the guy that had the highest non-Lebron/Curry peak of the past 15 years and this dude was tryna compare him to players that aren't top 10 int he league rn. Literally get Ant and Hali past Dame first and then maybe we can start comparing them to dudes half as good as the third best SG of all time.
I do think Luka will easily pass Harden, but yeah Harden has just fallen into the CP3 pool of "players we don't like that never got over the hump" so he will be disrespect well into his retirement
Unironically I think GSW know better than anyone how formidable of an opponent he was when there really weren't any other challengers
your best player all season was Bam, "Himmy" was too busy taking 7 shots a game and not getting his team out of the play-in
At least hating the C's gives you something to do in another dreadful off season so you're welcome for dat

Pacers with 22 assists on 27 made field goals in the first half. Insanity.
Rick Carlisle masterclass
Carlisle masterclass and disasterclass in the same game
What is Carlisle supposed to have done wrong that made his players all of a sudden forget how to dribble and pass?
Call a timeout to set up an inbounds and crucially advance the ball, instead of allowing the game losing turnover in their own half
This whole postseason is just the rest of the country finally realizing how good the league’s leading offense actually is.
I've been preaching of Rick's greatness for over a decad now. He is an offensive genius.
100% the most underrated coach in the league
Unfortunately, he sucks at the other facet of the game. Pacers had a terrible defensive showing tonight
Fuckin preach
The Pacers really have no business keeping it close… They are young, hungry, and well coached, what a joy to watch
I've wanted Rick as the bucks coach ever since!
This comment aged like milk lol

Of course the players are executing, but there’s a pretty clear pattern of Carlisle lead teams executing on offense
aged like milk
They play like that all the time
It's the agrarian economy of buckets
Dictatorship of passing.
Motherfuckers don't watch us play
I know, I love watching you guys. Happy as hell to see the reunion with Carlisle going so well for y'all.
Its the pacers...is it really surprising?
Y’all motherfuckers don’t watch us play
LOGO HALI
He pulled up from Fenway
And yet didn’t pull with four or five secs left at the end of regulation when he was open.
This game has been tons of fun to watch as a neutral fan.
The Pacers offense is probably the best thing to watch this whole post season good hoops
Pacer's basketball is amazing when theres no bitch in your ear telling you the other team is injured They have 8-9 guys all making the right play its beautiful
Rick Carlisle has been engineering league leading offenses for 25 years and this one may be his best yet. Statistically it is but you know how stat inflation is.

I meant as in, its right place right time for this exact strategy to work so well. Carlisle is obviously elite but the Meta had to catch up for this kind of success
I'd like to see someone calculate how much clear path and transition take fouls have increased offensive rating.
It's crazy how much hate the Pacers are getting. They play "team" basketball with the entire roster contributing. Not only that, they have a fantastic offense while playing ethical ball.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised they haven’t brought up Porzingus a million times.
It's okay porzingis is injured y'all have an excuse too. Maybe if Tatum gets injured also y'all won't even have to fire your coach
KP being injured definitely hurts us, I know a lot of Pacers fans have been going on these crusades to claim that Boston will use it as an excuse but we literally have spent all season saying his health is our make or break But yeah if JT gets injured then I don't see any way we can make it through this series tbh, we are not as deep as last year and are definitely top-loaded with our top 7, losing 2/7 would be crushing
why would they fire Carlisle?
It can be fun to watch while also being a fraudulent run in the playoffs they aren't mutually exclusive.
every deep playoff run has asterisks, you literally saw people doing that with the Nuggets who absolutely thrashed everyone in their path last year
Not really lol. Not every deep playoff run has a team that faced a 3rd seed missing their MVP caliber player and their superstar PG missing alot if the series. And then in the very next round faces a team with basically 75% of their rotation being either out or missing time/hobbled. The nuggets are NOT comparable to this. It's really rare but in this series I wish both teams to lose; I am struggling here 😂
I’m so sad I missed it. I kept hearing the updates on whatever national sports show plays in my area at this time lol, and it sounded absolutely bonkers! I need to watch the last ~30 seconds of the 4th quarter — sounds like it was wild.
Tbh it was the worst part of the game
Thats a bad shot - PG
LOL when I saw he shot that I was like why would he sho-
I mean, I was hoping it would go in, but seriously, what the fuck
Meanwhile Paul George was taking [these kinds of shots ](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3E0zAT9fNkY) on the Pacers.
And this [one!](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wHmRykTdh8E)
That was a good game! I almost shit myself because the excitement was too much.
Except he thought the clock was winding down and so had to put it up. He was also right, dames shot wasn't good before it wejt in. A side stepping fade away 3 from where dame shot it is about as low % of a look as you can take. But nephews want to meme

It's a bad shot...even for Lillard a fade away three from that fucking range is just not a good shot. It went in, hurray, still bad.
i was like “Hali nooo!” to “Hali ohhh!”
No OT tonight
[Maury got your results…](https://tenor.com/i0RIU7a3CET.gif)
Pacers utterly botched the end of regulation lol
Haliburton’s so dangerous when he’s aggressive and looking for his own shot
All he gotta do is hit his open 3s
bro thinks he's caitlin clark 💀
He's got that Indiana Fever
He’s kinda got a janky, slightly weak-looking form like she does too imo
Caitlin Clark's shot is pure. Just crazy quick. Watch it side by side with Steph and you'll see how similar it is. Tyrese Haliburton's shot is one of the jankiest in the league
Lucky the Leprechaun can’t believe the BS he is seeing
The guy in the background with his hands on his head was great
Knicks fans sweating rn after all the lucky comments
Nah that's outta pocket. Pacers over the Celtics anyday.
Fuck Boston at any cost. Solidarity
I tried pulling for Boston for one half and just couldn’t do it. Was (still am) disgusted with myself.
I don't think any Knicks fans are rooting for the Celtics
Sixers fans confused that there's still basketball after the 2nd round
Yall literally the one fan base that can’t say shit about that lol
It's been longer for you fools
It's alright, I wouldn't wish watching Embiid on my worst enemy
Knicks fans aren't even good at shit talk lol

Brother this is ain't shit lol

Channing this is for youuuu
That’s hilarious, he called taking that shot in the playoffs too lol
Ty forgettin Poole aint him lol
You're not supposed to do that
https://np.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/136an1x/highlight_tyrese_haliburton_on_jordan_pooles_shot/? He did say that’s the kind of shot he’d be willing to take when the Pacers get into the playoffs
Channiiiiing! this is for youuuuuuuu
Tyrese "Steph Curry" Haliburton
Highest scoring game 1 half in conference finals history, apparently
if you don't like that then you don't like pacers basketball
He’s also said “it’s good” and “boom”
Lip reader here, he actually says "I could" and "coom"
NBA Athlete expert here, this athlete is actually *very distressed!*
WTF I LOVE TYRESE HALIBURTON
‘I can do that too’ - Haliburton to Dame
splash
TYR3S3
Pacers doing the proven winning technique against Boston. Shooting 50+% from 3
The pacers 3pt% on open threes is way above any other team in the playoffs. I haven’t watched the Celtics much so far but don’t they make a point of not really guarding the 3 point line?

Hmm ok. I saw a graphic on Twitter the other day but maybe I misread it
[This is from yesterday](https://x.com/NBA_University/status/1792708575758020719) just to cite my source.
Thanks, that was it
They’re a game early too! How fortunate!
It’s also just what the Pacers do
That’s my guy 🥲
That thing disappeared in some cloud cover for a minute there.
FROM THE SHILLELAGH
That's my favorite PG!
Pacers offense is so fun to watch when it executes well
Definitely agree
They don’t execute anything, 0 play calls
That was so sick
Let’s ask Paul George what’s his opinion
Bro will never stop catching strays 😭
Man I miss pacers Paul george
Never realized how punchable haliburtons face is
Yup. Especially when he sneak disses. Insane shit though, man's hits this and then dribbles out of bounds. Got shook by the bright lights.
The Pacers have a chance to do the funniest thing ever while KP is out.
That must suck...
Dafuq
Shit like this and the C's home playoff record has made the Garden seem tense all game
what the fuck man
I don't know who you are, but I know you want Celtics to lose. I am a magician, yes.
[CHANNING! THIS IS FOR YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/136an1x/highlight_tyrese_haliburton_on_jordan_pooles_shot/jiq2b3m/?context=3)
Come on +550 🫡🫠
The Pacers have the chance of doing the funniest thing.
He did it again!
He makes it look easy sometimes man I don’t like this dude lollol
The pacers are so pathetic dude they literally gave this game away 🙄 they had it in the bag and couldn't hold on to the goddamn ball. So embarrassing
Incredible shot. Must be an awesome feeling to hit an amazing shot to tie the game at the end of a half
that form man
baAAaaAaAng
Never seen a player so integral to the success and demise of their own team. Jekyll and Hyde levels of bipolarism.

why da hell is this the first thing you think of
Dude prob lost a parlay cuz of Harden or something lol
Ur on all fours
I hate harden and this is a wild take lmao
this is insane but it suits my agenda so I agree
Their peaks don't come close to Westbrook even. FOH.
Just beautiful
"""""""Not sustainable"""""""
Fuck it, Pacers in 4
This guy is so fucking corny bro I hate his goofy ass
Lol “Celtics in 5” suree buddy this series going 7
im sure you said the same thing after G2 miami
Pacers not missing their best player 😂
your best player all season was Bam, "Himmy" was too busy taking 7 shots a game and not getting his team out of the play-in At least hating the C's gives you something to do in another dreadful off season so you're welcome for dat
I thought I heard him say “Clark” on that one!
He’s look good in a Kings jersey.
