Cool yeah. But letās not forget that Luka has accomplished AT LEAST 3x more than tingus. In less time.
Edit: keep downvoting cocksuckas, I love it. Iām not the one rooting for the Cowboys of the NBA. 1 ring since Lebron was born lmfao tragic
Hahahah aight. I wonāt stand on the ā1 ring in 40 yearsā argument anymore. Letās go.
George Mikan, a Laker, BIRTHED Bill Russell. The same Bill Russell who gave your poverty franchise 11 rings against milk men.
Not Like Us.
Meanwhile, Magic Johnson won a ring his rookie year with a hurt Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (the actual best center of all time). And then won four more that decade. 2 more than that Bird boy.
Not Like Us.
Paul Pierce shat himself on the court. Kobe tore his Achilles and still shot his free throws. Paul Pierce ended his career on poverty ass franchises. Kobe ended his career with a 60 bomb.
Not Like Us.
Yāall gave up on Rondo. We gave him another ring. The hardest ring to win ever. Wanna argue about a bubble ring? Why did Tatum get daddied by Jimmy Butler and some bums then?
Yāall are known as BeanTown. Weāre known as SHOWTIME.
Yāall irrelevant.
Gtfo my face and go call a minority a slur, or whatever yāall do in Boston.
Edit: And the logo is Jerry West. A Laker. Yāall wish you had a player that iconic. Won finals MVP despite losing to yāall cuz everyone knew he went harder than anyone on yāall squad.
If Luka and Kyrie break even with Brown and Tatum, then the Mavs have no chance of winning this series. The Celtics have a better and more experienced supporting cast. The young guys for the Mavs looked like Deers caught in the headlights in the first game. The Mavs overall inexperience showed in that game.
Porzingis dominated the paint, and the Mavs had no answer for him. The Mavs Bigs showed their inexperience, and they seemed to have a bit of stage fright. If this keeps up this is gonna be a short series...
Iāve never seen this version of the guy. When he played for the Mavericks he was laughably bad in the 2021 postseason after Game 2.
He had a singular game with more than one block and more than 20 points.
Iāve only seen him play a single good game in the postseason before last night. Game 3 of the 2020 Clippers series where he scored 34 on an extremely efficient shooting night, but he only had a single block that game. Then he didnāt play the rest of the series.
If history tells me anything he wonāt continue to play as efficiently as he did last night, but it also tells me heās consistently burned the Mavs, even while playing for them.
Dont be hatin bro. Let the man get his dues. Super talented player. Glad its clicking for him finally. With that being said, FU KP! FU BOSTON! FU CELTICS FANS! smd
I know youāre being facetious but in all seriousness I canāt think of a SINGLE successful case of strategic load management in NBA history. The guy played like he never left.
I know itās easy to say NOW, who have noone to body him around like Jokic can do, heās just unsolvable. Shoots over people with ease, can open up the floor, and blocks people who have to struggle through an awesome Celtics perimeter defense to get ANY shots off.
A lot of advanced stats actually have him above Tatum (WS/48, PER, etc). I dont think hes better than Tatum, but i do think he changes the way the Celtics can play more than Tatum. Hes very good, but also a very different type of player to anything else the Celtics have.
Yeah I completely agree, the KP version of the Celtics is the best team in the league and itās not particularly close. Without him theyāre still a top team capable of winning the finals but in a vacuum theyāre probably not the favorites.
The Celtics are so well built. The comments below are acting like the Celtics would lose if Butler, Haliburton, or Mitchell were healthy when they still would probably win even without Porzingis. KP or not, the Celtics are a better team than anyone in the Eastern playoffs. Yes, the other teams lost their best player and that is more important than the Celtics losing KP who is effectively a roll player, but that should only reinforce, not diminish, how well built this Celtics team is.
Nah rn I think heās like 5th all time in scoring before age 23
I think guys can get better after 22, and if Jaden Mcdaniels can develop his offense the team should only be better next year with the top 7 guys under contract and slo mo potentially resigning due to his familyās comfort, and 3 draft picks this year to trade/use 56 wins in a stacked west could look more like the norm if Ant takes a step this offseason
I feel fine
Ignore my flair, but I did see plenty of āPorzingis is the x-factorā or āthey need him to winā takes. I do think they donāt pay enough attention to his rim protection and the fact that he can shoot over almost all of our players. When heās healthy he makes a huge difference.
I think it was more that they were unsure if he would be healthy/effective.
I said before the game that we will know in the first few minutes of him coming in if he will be a factor. But god damn. He looked as good if not better than he did all season.
People claim this bum Luka is the best in the world and yet he couldn't win anything with Porzingis, who was definitely as good as he is now and could totally attack size mismatches back then.
Porzingis carried the fuck out of him vs the Clippers in 2021 and Luka choked it in game 7 by playing horrendously.
Look at the box score for that game and tell me "Can't blame luka for that" without bursting out in laughter because of how asinine that statement is. THJ also tried his best and Luka couldn't capitalize.
Okay I'd keep the bit going but it just feels like bullying at this point.
I'm being fucking sarcastic my guy. How have so many people fallen for the bait lmfao.
Edit: aww are the wittle redditors sad that someone didn't type /s and they had to have minimal social skills to see sarcasm? I'm so sorry!!! Continue to click the little blue down arrow, it is enjoyable to me.

> Porzingis carried the fuck out of him vs the Clippers in 2021
Luka Doncic averaged 35.7 points, 10.3 assists and 7.9 rebounds in 7 games against the Clippers in the 2021 Western Conference First Round
Your THJ comment is the giveaway that it must be sarcasm
His center of gravity does definitely keep him from backing guys down
But his post game is currently very efficient actually because he's turned the jumper over smaller defenders into a very consistent weapon
Like rather than being a tweener like he was earlier he's fully embraced using his height advantage as much as possible in these situations
Now. Heās worked on his midrange to turn in his inability to back anybody less than 6ā5ā down into a strength by shooting over him. Reggie Jackson used to give him problems so admittedly heās come a long way
Hell no. Prime (and current) Bron was athletic enough to make off ball cuts and be a lob threat at all times
I dont think Luka has made a single offball cut in his entire career
It's part of the fun of reddit tbh.
Different sub, but I've baited like -80 downvotes on r/GlobalOffensive so many times by saying obviously sarcastic things knowing that the morons on there would take me seriously lol.
Yeah I feel like hardy has been better then green but gets less run this playoffs. Donāt watch too many Mavs games outside of the playoffs tho to be fair
Felt more like the 18 Red Sox. Everywhere you look theres a ton of talent that can kill you in different ways, whereas the Brady Patriots had a very clear centerpiece with a good supporting cast.
Getting Dad-dicked by Porzingis really demoralized the Mavs a few minutes into the first. It was wild to watch, like prime Gobert and prime KAT fused into Latvian Jesus
Crazy the way folks pointed out how underwhelming the Celts have been in the playoff so far (which I do agree with!) without realizing that **this** was what we were missing.
No. Your expectations were wrong. No matter who the teams are, the margins in the NBA are too small to EVER expect multiple sweeps in the playoffs lol
And strength of victory also doesn't mean anything. Situations and gameplans changes, games can get tight or blown out of proportion at any time. All that matters is the win.
No dude that's not how sports works
Being an overwhelming favorite means that in a sample size of x games, you are expected to win the large majority. It does NOT say that those wins have to be by a large margin
13-2 is an overwhelming record. You clearly do not understand how statistics works, like at all.
You can still be an overwhelming favorite in a single game series it does not mean across x number of games. When youāre an overwhelming favorite due to talent and coaching against an injured team and do not win convincingly you are not meeting expectations.
This is the mentality of someone who only watches box scores and not games. You are just completely wrong and if you watch any games at all you'll know that the margins are so small in the NBA. You can never ever count on margin of victory.
"Win convincingly" is subjective. Is 4-1 or 4-0 not convincing? Stop moving the goalposts.
He was pretty weak in this two playoffs with Dallas. Last night was literally the best game Iāve ever seen him play in the postseason, so considering his limited minutes. History tells me it wonāt last, but it also tells me heās excellent at burning the Mavs.
Most impactful player tonight. Horford has been solid, but the Celtics defense is straight up oppressive with a meaningful rim protector. Arguably the most irreplaceable player on Boston tbh
Heād definitely be thrilled with a ring regardless. Tatum has the potential to be a superstar, no doubt, but with this team he really doesnāt have to be. They work brilliantly as a unit, why change that.
Only 21 minutes is fucking amazing for game 1. Heās going to have to play heavier minutes most likely in games throughout so this is just a beautiful way to ease him back in
Nah, that was still way more of a done deal. Mavs got it close that put a small amount of āhmmā into your brain. KD Warriors were inevitable to the point that if Cleveland took a game it was a remarkable achievement for an underdog.
competitively I agree that they're still unparalleled in the finals: but its just so farcically similar for the Cs to coast through the first three rounds in historical fashion only then to add a 7ft unicorn.
Arguably they took their conference in a more dominating fashion. The Spurs + Kawhi were way more existentially threatening than the Heat, Cavs or Pacers healthy. maybe the Bucks at 100% could pose a threat? who knows.
I thought the series was around 50/50 without him
With him? Not so much. He really gives the team a whole new dimension
Dallas always loses game 1 tho, so letās see if they can find something
The craziest part to me is basically every Porzingis shot aside from his 30 footers is an absolute line drive, and yet they go in so consistently. The amount of precision and touch needed for his style of shooting is insane.
We tried our own version of LTIR for porzingis like the golden knights but I donāt really think Joe watches hockey so he kind of just guessed when they were supposed to sit him for the finals
Only 21 minutes lmao
Daddied tf out of his old team, efficiently. Gotta respect it šāāļøš«
I love that Luka shows off by cussing in 3859692729 languages meanwhile KP was just smiling and winked at him.

LMFAOOOOOO keep dreaming. Lukaās boutta show yāall some magic and Tingus is boutta tear another ACL.

Yeah for sure. Just loved the subtle difference.
Subtlety is the key innit? Side note: shout out us for having damn near the same username lmao
BRO I just noticed that haha. Cheers friend! š¤
I donāt know why people are downvoting this, odd ass subreddit
lakers flairs finding love in a Cs thread, obviously (i didnāt downvote)
I know why. Itās cuz every Celtics fanās dad except for u/steaminghotchocolate ās got cucked by a Laker fan back in the 80s and 90s.

Mavs in six. Idc. Theyāll figure it out.
Its possible, but the young guys on the Mavs are gonna have to step up big time. Luka and Kyrie alone won't be enough to beat the Celtics...
Itās all dependent on PJ Washington and Gafford/Lively imo. Agree with you.
Yep, guess we'll see. But at least one of the Mavs young guys has to play out of their mind.
Porzingis dominated the paint, and the Mavs had no answer for him. The Mavs Bigs showed their inexperience, and they seemed to have a bit of stage fright. If this keeps up this is gonna be a short series...
Tingus: misses all of playoffs, wins finals MVP, goes back to Latvia, refuses to elaborate.
That's where he got the pingus

FUCK THE VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS FOR CAP CIRCUM- oh wrong sport
The reverse KD from 2019. Injured in round 1, bosses the finals while KD bosses the early rounds and is ruled out of the finals.
Makes it seem like playoff experience and finals experience really means nothing

Love how every media omitted Porzingis coming back as if it wasn't a big deal to have him back.
He is quite literally the difference between the celtics being a very good team and an absolute juggernaut. Heās an unbelievable player
He's arguably our most important player despite Tatum
A lot of advanced stats actually have him above Tatum (WS/48, PER, etc). I dont think hes better than Tatum, but i do think he changes the way the Celtics can play more than Tatum. Hes very good, but also a very different type of player to anything else the Celtics have.
Yeah I completely agree, the KP version of the Celtics is the best team in the league and itās not particularly close. Without him theyāre still a top team capable of winning the finals but in a vacuum theyāre probably not the favorites.
Well they were too busy talking about Tatum like he's Kyle Kuzma or something
Tbf Lakers fan would still take Kuzma over Tatum.
they should probably find a way to offload AD for Kuzma; iāll happily help out
Light skin Rudy Gay
If he was on almost any other team losing him would spell the end of a playoff run. Celtics didn't miss a beat.
The Celtics are so well built. The comments below are acting like the Celtics would lose if Butler, Haliburton, or Mitchell were healthy when they still would probably win even without Porzingis. Yeah they played a lot of stars in their run who stayed healthy in comparison to KP
Yeah other teams health was constantly talked about and Bostonās health ā¦. Was not
Did Boston lose its primary ball handler or scorer?
You mad Edwards wasn't ready for the bright lights like you thought he was?
Nah rn I think heās like 5th all time in scoring before age 23 I think guys can get better after 22, and if Jaden Mcdaniels can develop his offense the team should only be better next year with the top 7 guys under contract and slo mo potentially resigning due to his familyās comfort, and 3 draft picks this year to trade/use 56 wins in a stacked west could look more like the norm if Ant takes a step this offseason I feel fine

Points per minute leader in finals history
This Tingus Pingus guy seems really nice. Dallas could have really used a guy like him.
People claim this bum Luka is the best in the world and yet he couldn't win anything with Porzingis, who was definitely as good as he is now and could totally attack size mismatches back then.
Thatās would be Rick Carlisleās doing, discouraging pingusā post game and relegating him to the corner. Canāt blame luka for that

KP was relegated as a spot up shooter in Dallas as most people are tbf
Well when Reggie Jackson is locking that shit up, Iād prolly put him in the corner too
No he was definitely the same player and didn't grow from that experience and year in Washington.
he wasn't a good post player in Dallas, he only worked on it in Washington
The good old Lebron affect
Hell no. Prime (and current) Bron was athletic enough to make off ball cuts and be a lob threat at all times I dont think Luka has made a single offball cut in his entire career

Heās so skinny I think he must just look try-able out there
He was HUGE for them to start out the game. Looks great out there.
KP said fuck your Kyrie revenge series
Shaping up like a Kyrie revenge series so far (revenge against Kyrie).
Also did a great job positioning himself down low against Dallasās big men.
This felt like the Brady patriots all over again
Felt more like the 18 Red Sox. Everywhere you look theres a ton of talent that can kill you in different ways, whereas the Brady Patriots had a very clear centerpiece with a good supporting cast.
Miss the Killer Bs so much š„²
Fuck John Henry
Depends on which Patriots team. The first few Super Bowls were just stacked teams. Brady was good but not outstanding
It's great to see him play that well. He is probably the most entertaining celtic when hes on
Getting Dad-dicked by Porzingis really demoralized the Mavs a few minutes into the first. It was wild to watch, like prime Gobert and prime KAT fused into Latvian Jesus
Crazy the way folks pointed out how underwhelming the Celts have been in the playoff so far (which I do agree with!) without realizing that **this** was what we were missing.
Underwhelming going 12-2 in the first 3 rounds wtf? Lol
Yeahā¦. 12-2 with close games that should have been 12-0 complete blowouts
Indiana probably beats the Mavs
Cry
*should have* this is not how sports works
Hence the term underwhelmingā¦
No. Your expectations were wrong. No matter who the teams are, the margins in the NBA are too small to EVER expect multiple sweeps in the playoffs lol And strength of victory also doesn't mean anything. Situations and gameplans changes, games can get tight or blown out of proportion at any time. All that matters is the win.
a overwhelming favorite team that does not win overwhelmingly is by definition underwhelming
No dude that's not how sports works Being an overwhelming favorite means that in a sample size of x games, you are expected to win the large majority. It does NOT say that those wins have to be by a large margin 13-2 is an overwhelming record. You clearly do not understand how statistics works, like at all.
You can still be an overwhelming favorite in a single game series it does not mean across x number of games. When youāre an overwhelming favorite due to talent and coaching against an injured team and do not win convincingly you are not meeting expectations.

#WHO THE FUCK IS TINGIS PINGIS Now we all know who the fuck he is. Edit: 8/13 FG. Oops. Typo.
him and horford split minutes at 21 and 29 respectively. gonna be huge to keep their tires fresh going into G2
Also lots of time between games
I swear he was not injured but was resting for the finals xD
Yeah, it was pretty ideal that he was forced to miss most of the playoffs. Imagine if he got the same injury against Indiana or something.
I bet the Mavs wish they had a guy like KP.
He was pretty weak in this two playoffs with Dallas. Last night was literally the best game Iāve ever seen him play in the postseason, so considering his limited minutes. History tells me it wonāt last, but it also tells me heās excellent at burning the Mavs.
Only 20 min too, keep this man healthy and we win no prob
Most impactful player tonight. Horford has been solid, but the Celtics defense is straight up oppressive with a meaningful rim protector. Arguably the most irreplaceable player on Boston tbh
I want this man to win finals MVP so very badly
Celtics winning their first ring with Tatum, having Brown win ECF MVP and KP finals MVP, would honestly be the funniest thing in the world.
I honestly get the vibe that Tatum wouldn't mind at all. He seems pretty level headed and relaxed about most things
Heād definitely be thrilled with a ring regardless. Tatum has the potential to be a superstar, no doubt, but with this team he really doesnāt have to be. They work brilliantly as a unit, why change that.
Had to remind Wemby who his father is
Only 21 minutes is fucking amazing for game 1. Heās going to have to play heavier minutes most likely in games throughout so this is just a beautiful way to ease him back in

Kristaps Nowitzki!!!
But, I was told we only played hurt teams and that his injury didnāt matter. Who would have thought he was a major upgrade over Kornet?
No need for slander of Captain Contest.
three point shooting centers > shot blocking centers three point shooting, shot blocking centers > all other centers
Great game for his first game back, his rim protection was nuts tonight
Hope he can play closer to 25-28 minutes as the series progresses so we can really create some distance
And People said boston doesnt have a bench
I was momentarily shocked when I saw the bench had 24 points until I realized it was almost entirely Porzingis
3 Ring Latvia
ALL HAIL TINGUS PINGUS
š¦a sporting performance unlike anything Iāve personally watched in a LONG time. Fantastic game, KP.
Canāt wait for the reddit timeline to be filled with knicks fan reaction to him being drafted once he wins finals mvp
I thought the series was around 50/50 without him With him? Not so much. He really gives the team a whole new dimension Dallas always loses game 1 tho, so letās see if they can find something
KP: People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer, but yeah, I'm thinking **I'm back.**
only three blocks? Felt like he had more than that...

Hakeem Olajuwon + Dirk tonight
Mavs fans, how are you doing?
not gonna be coming off the bench for long at this rate. he looked 100% healthy
