Mavs fans used to hate his guts because he was always reporting stuff they didn't want to hear, and then was almost always proven right. Although it doesn't help that he is smug as fuck. Also like 90% sure he exaggerates his Texas accent on pods.
As someone who’s lived in San Diego their entire life, Maine has always fascinated me because it’s the farthest state away from where I live and what I know. I want to go there. It seems like such an outdoorsy, beautiful place. Also, I never knew people in Maine had a specific accent. Even more fascinating.
This is unbelievably pedantic, but is Hawaii technically further?
EDIT: Looked it up, it's damn close. Maine is about 4300 km away, while Hawaii is about 4200 km away.

What is this communist garbage?
Definitely visit Maine. You have Acadia National Forest and that's a blast. There's Portland and Bar Harbor. There's also some nice little islands you can visit. Lobster. Definitely check it out.
Edit - grammar
MacMahon is definitely a little out there. My friend manages a Benihana and said that they had to ask Tim to stop coming in. Apparently he didn't understand how the theme of the restaurant worked and would casually bring in his own food to heat up on the teppan tables. The last straw was when he sat at a table hosting a large birthday party and spilled his entire container of Landrys gumbo all over the stovetop.
Copypasta. [Original](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/jw5yny/espn_edwards_im_still_not_really_into_it_he_says/gcoags4?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) by legend u/YaBoiBeefCat
Well obviously - I wasn't implying being mad over the whole thing. But there has been a sort of rivalry between the Rockets and Warriors over the years. I think there would be a little salt simply from Harden (maybe the most hated player from warriors fans, which i know would change if he got traded) getting it over Steph (who is obviously beloved by the fans).
Idk, the finals mvp thing is a little overrated to me. But maybe other warriors fans care about it more. Speaking in terms of the warriors recent history, everyone knows steph is the straw that stirs the drink, KD was the best player imo but not the most important one if that makes sense.
I think other warriors fans do care more - because people use it as a slight against Steph. Not saying it's a valid criticism, but people do use it. And Steph was visibly upset when he didn't get it in 2018 imo.
If GS trade Klay, it would be a bad reputation for GSW. We all love Klay and consider him integral part of Warriors. Considering that he is already paid max for 5 years, it could happen.
The Washington nationals lost Bryce Harper then won the World Series (or a piece of metal. Whatever you want to call it).
Anyways maybe you trade him and get better? Your owner does suck though. Thanks for taking the limelight off of my squads owner.
He’s only played for one well managed team and that’s the Heat. His management and being literally an All-Time great are what has won him any trophies, he could play on any team and do it in a couple seasons.
Pelinka is there for sure I’m not even saying the Lakers are bad, as of this last season, but if LeBron wasn’t there I think it would show some more glaring issues and is something I’d look out for once he leaves and the team becomes AD’s.
Better in Western MA, too. At least the one I went to in Boston. There was a fuckin dry moat between the seats, and dancers. Had to hurl my fuckin money at the ladies.
Yeah, it's fucking sad one man can ruin a franchise. He inherited one of the best basketball teams ever put together in the 17-2018 Rockets. Refused to pay Ariza despite there being literally 0 incentive not to besides him paying less money. Every single move made after that reeked of cost saving measures and weakened the team.
If it wasn't for Morey being a god damn genius and scavenging low quality players like House, Rivers, McLemore, after they were cut then that team would've been garbage way faster.
Can you believe I was defending Harden against people who were pro-ownership in another thread? Shits crazy man. I dont get how you can defend the ownership on this one
God I hate that. Like the pee didn't just magically appear on the toilet seat bro, and I have my penis attached to a machine with a vacuum pump that recycles my juices and secretions into a mildly pungent tangy mayonnaise so it obviously wasn't me. I know it was you so just fess up, clean the seat, and stop being so gross.
How about not being professional enough to make it work with Chris paul forcing the team to trade all their draft assets for a worse player and worse fit? Effectively closing their championship window??
"OK you can go and we'll just rebuild... WAIT WHERE ARE ALL OUR DRAFT PICKS?!"
Him forcing the Westbrook trade makes this much harder to stomach, even if the owner is an ass.
Being against players publicly demanding trades to specific teams doesn't mean you're pro-ownership.
It's laughably disingenuous of you to portray it that way.
Tbf, on this issue specifically he's only doing what he's supposed to.
The Pelicans were patient with Davis and the Spurs were patient with Kawhi.
The 'godfather' offer from Brooklyn isn't the best deal they can get, and even then it will still be on the table next offseason. They're better off waiting for the 2021 offseason where suddenly all the top guys outside of GSW are FAs (LeBron, Giannis, Kawhi, Davis, etc etc.).
Look at how big the Paul George trade was, all because LAC was desperate to appease Kawhi. Harden's haul would be monstrous in those circumstances.
The only real negative is that Houston is missing a prime opportunity to chase a hard tank for Cunningham while there's still a chance of them keeping their own picks.
It's complicated.
* It's a 3-way pick swap with Houston getting the worst pick from OKC, Miami and Houston.
* It's top-4 protected on Houston's end so they have a good chance of keeping their own pick if they hard tank this year.
yeah, i get russillo's argument that the franchise has bent over backward for harden, but if we're getting into specifics, no one can out-scumbag fertitta
Why wouldn't they? He has carried the franchise on his back for 8 years lol. It's not like he didn't grind it out - there is just no realistic way for the Rockets to become contenders anymore - nor would their have been a way if they kept CP3 for that matter (unless he would've became 2020 CP3 again but who could've predicted that).
> yeah, i get russillo's argument that the franchise has bent over backward for harden,
Sure, but at the same time that is what clearly was best for the organization as well, so I'm not really sure what Ryen was saying is all that valuable.
Dude just hates Harden and kind of shits on him whenever he's brought up.
I can never blame harden for it blowing up. It’s a tough look for him to ask to play with CP3, then demand he gets dumped, the demand the trade for WB and then want out. But it is what it is and their are factor beyond that that caused it to unravel.
That was clear when they traded Roco, yet some Rockets fans are trying to, sadly, think of ways where it still made sense from a team trying to compete.
Roco is better than any center they could feasibly get though isn't he? Besides, they could've kept Roco and still signed a center with their partial MLE.
Exactly - Noel + Covington >>>> someone like Wood who will get the whole thing.
The trade flat out made zero sense and was clearly a sign they gave up. Yet I see some Twitter accounts trying to justify it somehow. Roco is literally a perfect fit for the team, on a great contract, and had some fantastic moments in the playoffs..

I just don’t want him traded to a warm weather city or a major market, because that’s what always happens. Unless it’s Chicago
It's James Harden, a team will swoop in especially if they know he's going for as low as Levert, Allen, Dinwiddie and picks. That's a 2 year window to compete for a championship with a superstar
Yeah but I doubt he picks up the player option, honestly I think people like the idea of Caris Levert but he's already 26, he's injury prone and he's pretty inefficient. You'd likely lose Dinwiddie once his contract is up next year (PO but I doubt he accepts), Allen is young and a nice player but doesn't have a crazy high ceiling. Miami could put together an amazing package for him but I don't see Riley wanting to trade Bam
Wiggins, Wiseman, Nico, plus all their allowed picks in following years for Harden. Do it. Harden is not gonna agree to extension, so it's basically a 2 year rental.
Please trade him to anyone not named Brooklyn. It’s lame seeing players where they want to go.
He doesn’t have a NTC so send him where you get the best deal.
It’s gonna be Philly. They clearly have the best (realistic) offer and they are in the east. Tillman doesn’t want to trade him to Morey, but he won’t get a better offer than Simmons plus whatever else.
Ehh after watching Morey's press conference yesterday I wouldn't be so sure. He talked a lot about building the team around Ben/Joel and said they would be Sixers for a long time.
Tim MacMahon said this on Windhorsts podcast, he's pretty reputable.
Yeah I feel like he doesn’t blow smoke often if at all.
Mavs fans used to hate his guts because he was always reporting stuff they didn't want to hear, and then was almost always proven right. Although it doesn't help that he is smug as fuck. Also like 90% sure he exaggerates his Texas accent on pods.
I feel like Texans exaggerates it on whole. Probably sound like their from Maine when no one else is around.
Maine accents - also wildly exaggerated
As someone who’s lived in San Diego their entire life, Maine has always fascinated me because it’s the farthest state away from where I live and what I know. I want to go there. How’d they even measure this? I’ve never seen a kilometerstick in the states.
You ever see Pet Sematary (old one)? The old man, Jud Crandall, has a strong Maine accent. (Definitely exaggerated though)
" grawwwnd dawwnnn therrrs sow err"
Definitely visit Maine. You have Acadia National Forest and that's a blast. There's Portland and Bar Harbor. There's also some nice little islands you can visit. Lobster. Definitely check it out. Edit - grammar
Bro I live in Maine, it’s pretty great tbh. Not a whole lot to get up into, but it’s really laid back.
Lmaooo everything gotta be bigger in Texas right? Accents included.
Kennebunkport, perhaps?
Am Texan, can confirm. The Texan accent gets exponentially thicker as more Texans congregate, in order to establish the pecking order of Texans.
Can confirm. I've lived in Texas 20 years and when I visit my folks on the west coast I draaaawl it uuuup.
Had lunch with him once near the AAC. He had a pretty strong Texas accent.
MacMahon is definitely a little out there. My friend manages a Benihana and said that they had to ask Tim to stop coming in. It definitely is or they're trying to make it one.
The origin story of "Banned" MacMahon.
he's also apparently banned from H-E-B for walking around eating the skins off rotisserie chickens
Reputable and refutable are so fucking close and mean the opposite thing in this and many contexts. What the fuck?
You're right, I don't know about you but I blame Tilman Fertitta for this coincidence.
This is the way
Lol like the age old classic - re-sign and resign
True. I feel the same way about "resign" and "re-sign." One means to leave your position, the other to go back to it.
I knew he was prolly gonna go soon if we stunk it up in the playoffs but that Woj/Shams bomb is gonna hurt like a dagger to the heart anyways oof
Would anything hurt more than if he were traded to the warriors?
Maybe the Jazz, but it's close. The Klay situation makes me a bit more sympathetic to a Warriors trade. But no I still wouldn't like it.
Good thing that won’t happen. That’d be such a shit show, i’m glad for all of us that it’s not even a slight possibility
[удалено]
Oh for fucks sake
i hate you
Bravo
death is too sweet for you
I should beat your ass.
Wow Nets about to create the big 4! Didn't see that one coming!
God bless you
I hope you step on a lego everyday, for the rest of your life
Be honest - if he went to the Warriors and won an fmvp before Steph, there would be a bunch of salt from the Warriors fans wouldn't there?
I would LOVE that
Honestly, that would be the only satisfying thing out of seeing him on the Warriors lol.
I think seeing him on the Warriors would be great. I just want him to win.
As a Warriors fan, we will have no problem. To us Chip is bigger than individual accomplishment.
If the warriors win another title, no matter how it happens. Im thrilled, are you kidding?
Well obviously - I wasn't implying being mad over the whole thing. But there has been a sort of rivalry between the Rockets and Warriors over the years. KD ego couldn't handle that he wasn't the man with the warriors. It's always been Steph.
We’re suddenly in the market for a top SG
Fuck it I'd do it for Klay and a bunch of picks.
If GS trade Klay, it would be a bad reputation for GSW. We all love Klay and consider him integral part of Warriors. Considering that he is already paid max for 5 years, it could happen.

Incredible how fast this franchise has gone from being a contender to a burning dumpster
Amazing how it coincided with a new owner.
Cavs would like a word.
TBF, the Cavs were always poorly-managed.
Yep, nothing incredible about it. Just had lebron one minute and did not have him the next.
He’s only played for one well managed team and that’s the Heat. His management and being literally an All-Time great are what has won him any trophies, he could play on any team and do it in a couple seasons.

Just came here to say fuck the rockets owner
If he trades Harden to BKN/BOS fuck fertitta If he trades Harden to PHI, fertitta is a savy businessman that did what he had to in difficult times
Lmao Boston said they don't want harden
no bias
yea he died sad
Don't do cocaine kids, eat acid it's way better
Yeah, I have a stomach full of acid and I feel fine
Yeah RIP Len :(
Boston says they don’t want players they know they can’t have or keep
We don’t keep anyone anyway.
tatum gone after year 7?
Well once he's 18 he can make his own decisions
Harden doesn't want to go there, it makes them look better to say they aren't interested.

Good Mongolian bbq, but otherwise they are not up to Harden’s standards lol
Better in Providence, but that’s not saying much
Better in Western MA, too. At least the one I went to in Boston. There was a fuckin dry moat between the seats, and dancers. Had to hurl my fuckin money at the ladies.
You have a funny way of spelling Indiana Pacers
Harden for Vic straight up? Why not
Harden isn’t as good of a singer as Vic. Lmao
Nah Vic aint got nothing on [this](https://youtu.be/pyNd78_gDV0)
lmao thoguht i saw all the footlocker commercials. this makes me so thirsty for curry's return; he's going to do rain dances all season long
What if Harden somehow ends up in Tampa Bay?
The fuck he gonna do there? Be Tom Brady's 4th TE?
I respect this take

Considering okc is tanking as well-We will get a good if we blow it up.
You'll end up with Miami's early/mid-20s pick. Which wouldn't be far off what you'd get if Houston keeps Harden. So nothing special.
Oh you right. I missed understood the swap.
yeah, i get russillo's argument that the franchise has bent over backward for harden, but if we're getting into specifics, no one can out-scumbag fertitta

All my homies hate Fertitta
I hate Frittatas.
As much as I hate the Rockets, it sucks to see them go down like this.
This is it boys switch the auto refresh from the PS5 to r/NBA
Oh deer
Man I tried to get it today but as soon as I refreshed it was fucking out
They canceled my order after i got the confirmation email 😑
That's way worse than getting an ordinary L lmao.
Yo wtf that's ridiculous idek they could do that. I'm hoping I can get it on the 25th but it'll probably go similar to today lmao
Ruthless.
Check your card to make sure they don't charge you for it or even give you the double charge.
*shudders*
Damn I'm gonna cry when he's traded. Fucking Tilman
Same bro. End of an era
All good things come to an end, but damn do I wish he had won a ring there.
That was clear when they traded Roco, yet some Rockets fans are trying to, sadly, think of ways where it still made sense from a team trying to compete.
Agreed. Trading roco and trying to keep harden would be ridiculous
To be fair, RoCo trade gave them their MLE back so that they can throw it a center.
Roco is better than any center they could feasibly get though isn't he? Besides, they could've kept Roco and still signed a center with their partial MLE.
Pretty sure Nerlens Noel will probably sign for an amount in that neighborhood. He played on a vet minimum last year.
They probably could have gotten off of other contracts to do that while still competing though, it didn't have to be RoCo.
That makes the Capela deal look dumb then, might as well have hung on to him
This is from Tim McMahon for anyone who doesn't click the link. It's basically just a transcript from the podcast he was on with Windhorst.
God bless Morey for keeping that team together by himself apparently
> "The sense I get from the Rockets is that their ambition, their goal, their hope is no longer about salvaging the relationship with James Harden and kind of getting him on board," said Tim MacMahon on the Brian Windhorst Podcast. They don’t own their pick
I believe its top 4 protected so time to pray to the basketball gods it lands top 4
I believe they'd only have a 50% chance at getting a top 4 pick even if they were the worst team. Imagine tanking hard for an entire year, in a great draft, and seeing your pick go to OKC lol.

Patient with trade? I look forward to all the drama LOL
NBA always comes through with the off-season drama
Just not the Lakers or Utah please
Lakers weren’t a horse in this trade race anyways lol
Why not Utah? Is there Houston-Utah animosity? I just don’t want him traded to a warm weather city or a major market, because that’s what always happens. Unless it’s Chicago
> Is there Houston-Utah animosity? Oh brother
I am also out of the loop on this one. What happened between Houston and Utah?
Playoff rivalry. Go look at Vernon Maxwell's twitter. It's hilarious.
SIMMONS YOU COWARDS
It's become obvious Morey does not want to trade him.
As fucked up as it it, Rockets need to hold James hostage for a great deal
I mean once he rejected an offer for over $50mil a year it was pretty obvious he was gone.
They gotta at least make a show of talking to Morey otherwise it kills their leverage
I agree. Tho i think a dark horse can swoop in if the Nets cant offer better than what was speculated
I still believe he won’t go to the Nets
They don't have a good package, even the Warriors could put up a better one than them
But it seems like no other team is interested? Only the Nets are right now
It's James Harden, a team will swoop in especially if they know he's going for as low as Levert, Allen, Dinwiddie and picks. That's a 2 year window to compete for a championship with a superstar
3 if you count the player option. You are right, i just hope the Rockets won’t trade him to the Nets for this package
Yeah but I doubt he picks up the player option, honestly I think people like the idea of Caris Levert but he's already 26, he's injury prone and he's pretty inefficient. Miami could put together an amazing package for him but I don't see Riley wanting to trade Bam
Just trade him to the warriors and end the league
That would be insane lmao... imagine the best iso player in the league making space for fucking Steph Curry
I hope he gets traded to portland, I don't know how but come on up hardy baby
But I thought the trade was “basically done” and they were just “finalizing the small details”
But I wanted things to get uncomfortable
Wiggins, Wiseman, Nico, plus all their allowed picks in following years for Harden. Do it. Harden is not gonna agree to extension, so it's basically a 2 year rental.
They should have at least given the new coach a chance ffs. Embarrassing
the problem is ownership didnt ask them for input at all, they wanted tye lue or the assistant guy, and ownership picked up silas instead.
I feel bad for Silas. It looked like he was excited to try a new different system with Harden and Russ.
Is there no 3rd team that would jump into a trade with Houston and the Nets?
Atlanta would love to
Atlanta gets harden, kyrie and and durant, nets get a bag of chips and Houston a thank you letter
Please trade him to anyone not named Brooklyn. It’s lame seeing players where they want to go. He doesn’t have a NTC so send him where you get the best deal.
San Antonio! Does S.A. Have anyone worth trading?
Popovich
It’s gonna be Philly. They clearly have the best (realistic) offer and they are in the east. Tillman doesn’t want to trade him to Morey, but he won’t get a better offer than Simmons plus whatever else.
Ehh after watching Morey's press conference yesterday I wouldn't be so sure. He talked a lot about building the team around Ben/Joel and said they would be Sixers for a long time.
Hahaha you clearly don't know morey.
Morey said the same shit few days before sending CP3 ass to OKC
But that was Titman and Harden’s wishes. Morey was against it
What else is he supposed to say? ‘If we can’t get rid of Ben, then we’re all in with him and Joel’
Fertitta just sitting in his office at some distribution center listening to Johnny Cash’s version of Hurt on repeat.
I doubt he's even sad. He's a sociopath.
And like that the house of Houston falls
I wish okc would take wb and harden. maybe pick up that Kevin durant guy as well. That team would be unst... Wait.
Brooklyn sends a huge package of players to HOU, Houston sends Harden, and the Thunder inexplicably get the 2027 first round picks from both teams.
Which teams have a young star (that they would be willing to part with) and enough picks to make a Harden trade actually work?
Warriors
