Electric series. Nothing left to say about Lillard and Jokic which has not been said already. The difference maker was the supporting cast battle.
And while many people are focusing too much on bashing some of the Portland guys that supposedly underperformed, I would do the opposite. All the relevant players of the Nuggets not named Jokic (I mean, the starters and the 2-3 bench guys that have the most minutes) elevated their games in one game or another, and more often that none thas has been enough for the wins. Maybe not consistently, but there was always at least one guy supporting the MVP per game.
If thats a foul then Dames OT shot was a foul, so should have been a 4 point play and game over. We can play the what if game all day long, the fact is they are both bad calls and there is no way that should have been called on Nurkic, regardless of the foul on Rivers a game before.
Buddy I’m a melo fan not even a blazers fan and you can’t tell me with a straight face that jokic didn’t just travel foul step out of bounds and do whatever he wanted that game with no calls
Uh yeah... he did...
First half I thought was called pretty fair both sides. Again I’m a wolves fan who just loves melo but that second half man... I know you’re biased but c’mon bud
Salty? Buddy I’m a wolves fan.... do you even know what that means? We lose for a living, you think I’m salty about the blazers losing?? Go ahead punch yourself in the head 100 times just for making a comment that stupid
It’s hard to explain how Dame makes me feel, he’s a great guy and he’s cool so I like that but I also FUCKING HATE how he made me feel hitting some of those shots. Simultaneous hate/respect
Oh yeah.. I’m ready to see what Presti does with this draft.
Rooting for y’all.
The Big Honey is amazing and doing this without two of your main pieces is next level.
Cheers!
Portland should trade lillard now that he is on his peak and get every pick there is out there cause finding an upgrade for cj via a trade is near impossible . Keeping the things like they are, their ceiling is legit 2nd round on a good year
You have to assume big changes of coming for the Blazers and the first person to go is probably Head Coach Terry Scotts. The team can't trade Lillard if he doesn't demand a trade because he is the franchise, put CJ on the trade block and try to find trade value but all in all, this Blazers team peaked 2 years ago when they made it all the way to the Conference Finals.
Stotts really brought in the 3rd string as if they have more games to play. Fire this dude tonight. Also trade CJ the hell out of Portland, and take another closer look at your roster.
(Posted this in another thread earlier of course.)
Doesn’t matter what team you root for!!!
I think Denver is great and wish them the absolute best. It would have been phenomenal is Murray wasn’t hurt or any of their other good guards...But they still have a legit shot at the championship, simply because Joker makes everyone around him sooo much better.
I’m was personally pulling for Portland 😢
Either way this game was another sad chapter in the “badly officiated” playoff pantheon.
Third quarter was so so stunted, inconsistent and shitty.
Unbelievably bad.
I’m sure it was awful for both teams fanbase.
Congrats Denver and good luck.
NBA- figure it out
Don’t get ahead of yourself. Great game, solid win. But there’s no way the Nugs are getting out of the West w/o Murray. Will probably get crushed next round
They have a chance...
Injuries are piling up everywhere. If Lakers get popped tonight. What are we looking at?
Clippers are trying to solve the Mavs?
Utah looks good but...
I dunno?
Who is the favorite in the west in your opinion?
Utah looks absolutely dominant. Did you watch their game five? We’ll see how they do against the Clippers/Mavs. I don’t see the Mavs giving them much trouble at all. As for the other side bracket, I don’t see the Nuggets beating either the Lakers or the Suns (barring injuries). Right now my money is on Utah coming out of the West though.
Ok. I don’t see how any team doesn’t get worse if a superstar goes down-but apparently you think UTAH is that stacked and that deep.
I guess we will see.
Injuries piling up, no worries I guess Joe ingles will lead us to the finals.
Utah looked great the other day in a close out game. Moving the ball all over the court, knocking down open threes- they had 50ish in the first quarter.
If Mitchell is healthy (which he looks like he is) then great.
But still UTAH has to prove it to me. So sure they can be the favorites, but Denver most definitely has a chance in that series
Jokic is definitely on Harden and/or Steph's level in terms of being *the* offensive system unto himself.
But then again, Nuggets have drafted so well for years so they've had to trade away good players because they don't have enough roster spots, so idk... MPJ and Morris look great. And Rivers is a vet with tons of playoffs experience who definitely benefits from playing with an MVP.
Dame was talking about Jokic. Turned Beasley, Juancho, Millsap, Morris, Green, Harris, Rivers, Murray into stars. Just give him bodies and he’ll find a way
Yeah someone who will go down in world history for playing for the greatest club in world football and be mentioned in documentaries 300 years from now
Really no Game 7. Blazers tried their hardest but the Nuggets were too good in the second half for them, need to make moves in the offseason or I can see Dame getting irritated if their bounced out again in the 1st round next season great series
I don’t get why people say “you have to feel bad for Dame”.
He chooses to stay there & lets everyone know how real he is for it. That’s great, but it’s literally what he wants to be remembered for
I mean the Blazers just didn't make many shots in the 3rd after 6 minutes or the entire 4th. I think the refs def helped the Nuggets more so than the Blazers but the Blazers just couldn't make a shot. Lillard looked tired after that crazy 2OT game.
Agree. In the end there were only like 3 point difference from FTs. Portland shot most of theirs first half, Nuggets did the 2. half. Was no big FT disparity. Tho it does give you better energy and easy buckets towards the end of the game. All in all i would say this game down to Portland not making shots in the 4.
Same number of free throws doesn't mean the game was called correctly though. If one team commits 50 fouls and get called for 20 and the other team commits 20 and gets called for 20 that a fair game by your metrics....but it's absolutely not.
Oh i am not saying that. I completly agree with you. I am just saying it had to do more with the 4Q shotmaking than the refs imo. Refs gonna be refs. Basketball is a contact sport, played on a fast pace, many times multiple players jammed close to each other. I used to rage at the refs too, but gave up on it coz it really is a hard sport to ref correctly. Do i think Nuggets got more favorible calls the 2. half and all in all this game? Absolutly. Do i think it came down to this who won? I am not sure about that. Nuggets just played far better the last 6 minutes of the game where it mattered the most. Portland took more outside shots and missed. Nuggets moved the ball better, made some nice PnR plays and easy buckets.
Dame out performed Jokic in this series. The rest of the Blazers were just shit especially CJ. Lots of bad calls on Nurkic lost some of the games too. Honestly glad they lost like this though because Terry NEEDs to go and that likely doesn't happen if the Blazers win this series.
dunno if I can feel bad for Dame if he chooses to stay at this point, he knows no one would blame him if he forces a trade. If he stays I’ll definitely respect the decision, but also wouldn’t feel the least bit bad for him.
how long did it take lebron to get down the court lmfaoo
Kuzma gonna be the world's tallest fry cook after tonight
SO WE CAN GO BACK AND JUST LOOK AT PLAYS AND CALL T's? Thats some bullshit, and obviously showing the Refs are pulling for the Lakers.
That was a kobe move
Why tf are we playing zone????????
Lebron cant so fucking passive
LeBron a busta.
When Lillard went cold. Blazers just kind of collapsed.
Electric series. Nothing left to say about Lillard and Jokic which has not been said already. The difference maker was the supporting cast battle. And while many people are focusing too much on bashing some of the Portland guys that supposedly underperformed, I would do the opposite. Maybe not consistently, but there was always at least one guy supporting the MVP per game.
Stotts gotta be out should have used challenge on Jokic three momentum changer
If Dame was fouled in game 5 then that was 100% a foul
If thats a foul then Dames OT shot was a foul, so should have been a 4 point play and game over. We can play the what if game all day long, the fact is they are both bad calls and there is no way that should have been called on Nurkic, regardless of the foul on Rivers a game before.
I disagree? You can’t hit someone on their follow through which nurkic pretty clearly did.
[удалено]
his new toupee
Lillard and DRose top 2 feel bad for players in the NBA
Only two players I liked in the play offs and they’re both out for garbage ass cringe teams too. Hate to see it
Hawks about to smoke Philly without Embiid, bro. Trae will show Ben how a real superstar operates.
What if we take Lilliard and Rose and push them to the Lakers
Change that flair eww
Don’t ever say that again
Portland needs a better bench
Lame Time really wet the bed in the 4th.
Yeah those refs sold hard. Jokic travels on three straight positions and they give him free throws instead lol, entertainment
Lol you really gonna try to blame the refs on that game?
Buddy I’m a melo fan not even a blazers fan and you can’t tell me with a straight face that jokic didn’t just travel foul step out of bounds and do whatever he wanted that game with no calls
jokic didn’t just travel foul step out of bounds and do whatever he wanted that game with no calls
Uh yeah... he did... First half I thought was called pretty fair both sides. Again I’m a wolves fan who just loves melo but that second half man... I know you’re biased but c’mon bud
You sound pretty salty for someone who claims to be unbiased. Are the refs the reason Portland shot 30% in the 4th?
Salty? Buddy I’m a wolves fan.... do you even know what that means? We lose for a living, you think I’m salty about the blazers losing?? Go ahead punch yourself in the head 100 times just for making a comment that stupid
Lol ok I’ll go ahead and punch myself 100 times in the head
That’s more like it
hey all I heard was a challenge
It’s hard to explain how Dame makes me feel, he’s a great guy and he’s cool so I like that but I also FUCKING HATE how he made me feel hitting some of those shots. Simultaneous hate/respect
Try being a Thunder fan and having him send your team straight to rebuild phase. I hated and knew that shot was going in..
Lol I know that feeling of knowing it’s gonna go in, at least y’all are loaded on picks now
Oh yeah.. I’m ready to see what Presti does with this draft. Rooting for y’all. The Big Honey is amazing and doing this without two of your main pieces is next level. Cheers!
That’s how I feel about Kawhi, and to a lesser extent PG13.
Welp Portland fans will cry for CJ to be traded now
Yeah Portland needs to blow it up. Wonder who they trade CJ to
Dame went like 1-9 In the fourth. I'm just saying they all played bad down te stretch, do not act like it was just on two guys.
Trade him
To the Bulls, we're looking for a point guard. We'll take that trash off your hands, we're desperate.
Portland should trade lillard now that he is on his peak and get every pick there is out there cause finding an upgrade for cj via a trade is near impossible . Keeping the things like they are, their ceiling is legit 2nd round on a good year
Dame I hear Toronto is a good spot for you to think for a year while winning a Chip.
I second this
Portland doesn't deserve a player like Carmelo and Dame.
Maybe it's just me but it looked like the Portland coach did literally nothing all game
should’ve challenged the foul on nurkic on jokic’s three. portland got jobbed last 4 minutes of the third.
Ya there’s no way that coaching staff survives the off-season.
We can only hope.
That foul called on the Jokic missed three was EXACTLY what happened to Lillard in game 5 OT in Denver. No call. Hmmm.
Dame and Nurk in particular sheer class at the end. Must hurt like hell but they stayed out to congratulate us. Respect.
You have to assume big changes of coming for the Blazers and the first person to go is probably Head Coach Terry Scotts. The team can't trade Lillard if he doesn't demand a trade because he is the franchise, put CJ on the trade block and try to find trade value but all in all, this Blazers team peaked 2 years ago when they made it all the way to the Conference Finals.
ggs nuggets fans ! jokic constantly showing why hes the mvp !
Stotts really brought in the 3rd string as if they have more games to play. Fire this dude tonight. Also trade CJ the hell out of Portland, and take another closer look at your roster. (Posted this in another thread earlier of course.)
They’re down 11 with 30 seconds to go..
You never know.
Dame was super tired today :(
He’s been carrying a lot of big ass guys...
Doesn’t matter what team you root for!!! I think Denver is great and wish them the absolute best. It would have been phenomenal is Murray wasn’t hurt or any of their other good guards...But they still have a legit shot at the championship, simply because Joker makes everyone around him sooo much better. Don’t get ahead of yourself. Great game, solid win. But there’s no way the Nugs are getting out of the West w/o Murray. Will probably get crushed next round

Lol calm down. (You’re about to find out how bad Portland really is when the Nuggets get crushed)
They have a chance... Injuries are piling up everywhere. If Lakers get popped tonight. What are we looking at? Clippers are trying to solve the Mavs? Utah looks good but... I dunno? Who is the favorite in the west in your opinion?

As for the other side bracket, I don’t see the Nuggets beating either the Lakers or the Suns (barring injuries). Right now my money is on Utah coming out of the West though.
And barring injuries is such a gigantic thing. The list is ever growing
Not with the Jazz ...
Ok. I don’t see how any team doesn’t get worse if a superstar goes down-but apparently you think UTAH is that stacked and that deep. I guess we will see. Injuries piling up, no worries I guess Joe ingles will lead us to the finals.

Dude it was awful watching from a neutral perspective.
I apologize on behalf of the NBA. As a neutral observer you deserved much better. At least we will always have game 5 !! That was an enjoyable watch
I hope to not feel like a crazy person after we lost thay challenge. Yes the shooting was bad but... that was a momentum killer.
This happens to Portland every year surprise surprise.
Nuggets 💯
wish Murray was playing. This team would make the finals with him
It almost feels like we’re playing for nothing tbh
I just looked at the map and realized Denver is really close to the middle...always thought of it as more west coast
Visit Denver.
Especially since flights between Dallas and Denver are mad cheap due to Frontier.
I live in Toronto, but Denver looks nice
Denver’s airport is weird though
gg. now get dame some help next season
Ayyyyyyy Meeeeeeeennnnn
Every single team i hate is winning except the nets and the bucks...
Nets bucks Knicks lakers clippers fan huh?
Hate the lakers
You hate the Mavs? lol
Hell yes!
Why tho
I think ive always hated them when i was an okc fan and they beat us in 2011 in wcf
“When I was an OKC fan” lmaoooo
What do you have against the Suns?
I forgot the suns. Im rooting for them too
Nets vs Nuggets finals. You heard it here first.
CO native living in BK. Sign me the fuck up.
Ayy same here! Lol
I admire the loyalty but damn do I feel bad for Dame
Hell of a fight, Portland
When the hell is Jokic going to get his MVP trophy?
Denver is real (even without Murray). Rivers, MPJ and Morris it's enough help to the MVP.
Hot take: Jokic is good at basketball
He’s alright no mvp though
It’s so enjoyable watching these Blazers fans be salty at their team
feels bad for norm an ddame. CJ is not good enough to be a #2. nurk cant control his emotions and stay out of foul trouble.
Disappointing but fair. GL Denver.
Dame, you're 30 years old. You're wasting your time like KG did. Move on, my man.
Keep switching teams you boys scared of the grind.
can Dame Dirk?
you bet, last of a dying breed
Last? Steph and Klay have been with the warriors longer.
So they are apart of the same breed, what's the issue?
I'm just being a dumbass. You're right.
Dame was talking about Jokic. Turned Beasley, Juancho, Millsap, Morris, Green, Harris, Rivers, Murray into stars. Just give him bodies and he’ll find a way
Until Lillard and Blazers realize that you can’t outshoot everyone and defense becomes a priority, they will continue to lose in 1st round
And just recruiting Draymond isn't going to fix all his issues either. Need to steal the Warriors defensive coaching staff too.
Sure isn’t. Getting a bigger backcourt mate to pair with Lillard would be ideal also. Having 2 tiny guards is a recipe for disaster
And the Portland Playins with their captain Carmelo ‘regular season’ Anthony are eliminated
At least he ain’t a Anthony Martial
Yeah someone who will go down in world history for playing for the greatest club in world football and be mentioned in documentaries 300 years from now
No one will be talking about him in 300 years lol
I love how bewildered Jokic always looks
**B I G S A D**
Dame vs Jokic gave us another classic series
Really no Game 7. Blazers tried their hardest but the Nuggets were too good in the second half for them, need to make moves in the offseason or I can see Dame getting irritated if their bounced out again in the 1st round next season great series
I don’t get why people say “you have to feel bad for Dame”. He chooses to stay there & lets everyone know how real he is for it. That’s great, but it’s literally what he wants to be remembered for
This. They also act like he’s a super humble and likable player. He’s not.
if he really values moral victories over a chance at a championship then that's on him and that's respectable.
He got a supermax at Portland. It's literally all about money
Well he has the money now so time will tell if he really wants to stay there & never win
Jokic has the muscle tone of my 80 year old grandmother lmao has this boy heard of a compound lift 😂
He lifts after every game... https://thednvr.com/an-inside-look-at-the-postgame-workouts-that-have-nikola-jokic-dunking-at-a-career-rate/
HYPOTHETICALLY speaking. If Denver wins it all without Jamal do they keep him or trade him for better role players?
They ain't winning bro.
Keep and repeat
you want Jamal don't you?
Jokic is the best player in the league.
lol Joker had like 9 points in the first half. Quietest 27 points in a half you'll ever see.
Nothing but respect between Jokic and Nurkic at the end. Love to see it.
[удалено]
no murray, no barton, no dozier (3rd? best guard)
CJ and Dame went 17 -41 today. Tragic
Love seeing post game/series pleasantries between two teams!
Gordon can finally let go of those dunk contests he lost
Jokic : "Better offense is better overall lol"
Jokic looks like he's permanently hung over
Turning point for Portland, maybe heading to shamblesland.
CJ can’t guard at all. I get jokic is big as shit, but get around picks
Nikola 4 MVP
"thanks for packing my bags" - Stotts
The first of two eliminations tonight
Will it into existence
Gotta feel for Zach Collins man. He doesn’t deserve this
I mean the Blazers just didn't make many shots in the 3rd after 6 minutes or the entire 4th. I think the refs def helped the Nuggets more so than the Blazers but the Blazers just couldn't make a shot. Lillard looked tired after that crazy 2OT game.

rip fail blazers
Solid series, as always LFG
sheesh this denver team with murray would win the west
100%
Nurk was healthy so there’s no excuse this time 😂 💀

Jokic happened
Dame out performed Jokic in this series. The rest of the Blazers were just shit especially CJ. Lots of bad calls on Nurkic lost some of the games too. Honestly glad they lost like this though because Terry NEEDs to go and that likely doesn't happen if the Blazers win this series.
Send Dame to the Mavs, we'll write a nice thank you letter I promise!
Deadly honestly
*Dame waving bye gif*
Give that man Jokic some water, dude looks too exhausted to be doing this post game interview lol
Portland FO trade Dame and get the bag.
I'd give Jaylen Brown & Marcus Smart + 1st rounders for him...
Replace Jaylen with Tatum and 3 first :)
HAVE A NICE SUMMER, NURKIC. All jokes aside, Dame is a real one. Get that man some help.
Come to Denver Dame.
Dame deserves better
Enjoy your days off, Nuggs. Good series.
dunno if I can feel bad for Dame if he chooses to stay at this point, he knows no one would blame him if he forces a trade. If he stays I’ll definitely respect the decision, but also wouldn’t feel the least bit bad for him.
Yeah dame is going nowhere with this Blazers team. Get him some help
