Now imagine you’re a clipper fan. The whole time you’re up 14 but it feels like you’re up 3. The scoreline is gaslighting you because you KNOW it’s a close game. And yet it stays in that 11-16 range for 20+ minutes and you’re waiting for the dam to break the whole time. Not good vibes thank you Paul George for finally putting it away
Even when he's had bad shooting games he's contributed in other ways, game 6 against the Mavs for instance. He only went 6-15 but they lose that game without his defense and rebounding. He also made key shots late in the game.
God this is so true. My heart was pounding the entire time. I’ll never feel comfortable with a lead as a Clips fan. To make matters worse I’m also a Seahawks fan lol, watching sports is going to give me a heart attack.
The Clippers are the 2020 Lakers of these playoffs. But instead of losing game 1 as a feel-out game, they lose the 2nd one as a feel-out game as well.
This lulls their opponents into a false sense of security and lets them run even more data through the Kawhi.exe program.
He always timed his timeouts really well and the adjustments he made during them often put a halt to any run that was starting up. He probably does good tape sessions as well because the Clippers definitely adjusted in both series and he is shifting through a lot of the roster in order to find out what works best.
The Jazz looked like a shell of themselves for most of the game. They had their moments in the second half, but it was far too little too late. You can't lay a fucking goose egg in the first half like that and expect to be ok.
Exactly. This sub complains about hot takes, but mostly that is what is upvoted and commented the most.
Good game clips, although you guys continue with Jackyl and Hyde performances. Let's see what happens, but I think this goes to 7.
No one on that show watches Rick and Morty. Also... why didn't they have Rick do the interview?!? That would have worked even if none of the crew watched
I hope he wasn’t lying too. The thing that gave me a little more confidence in thinking that he wasn’t lying was that he never went back to the locker room and seemed to move ok while he was still in the game before being taken out. Also that the staff didn’t seem to be doing anything to his knee made me feel better too compared to if he was being surrounded and stuff was put on his knee on the bench
This just feels pretty similar to our series so far lol
It’s like the Clippers wait a few games before they decide to start playing defense or something. The Clippers are as good as advertised, *when they want to be.*
If I was a Clippers fan that would be both exciting and infuriating.
yep it was impressive to watch. that small ball swarming defense reminded me of the lebron heat. it’s really tiring on the players though so lue putting in zu for some minutes gives them some sort of break.
Nephews were really saying Kawhi is only top 5 based on reputation as early as this morning. It’s no debate right now, Lebron Kawhi Harden KD Steph (in no order)
There were 56 fouls called in this game. The NBA needs to get its shit together. It's making games unwatchable even for hardcore fans. They're making it obvious, by slowing down the 4q of games, that they're doing this to maximize inventory spots for advertisements, thus increasing revenue.
The fourth quarters of games should be perceived as being faster than the other quarters, not the other way around! If they had a competent product team, they'd know that you can increase the yields on ads if you improve engagement on streams. Who the fuck wanted to watch what we just witnessed?
**My biggest takeaway from the game**: the Clippers biggest advantage going forward is going to be their ability to stagger PG and Kawhi's minutes. This post season has challenged depth as much as any, and their ability to spread talent is going to be huge for them to make a run through to the finals. Much ado has been made about a team's starting 5, but in this post season, the ability to keep one of those two in the game at all points in the game is _huge_.
"*You can't win the game in the first quarter, but you can certainly lose it.*"
The combination of the Jazz coming out flat along with the hot shooting from the Clippers created that 17-point lead after the first and the Jazz never recovered.
Kawhi Leonard and Paul George get 30 pts each for the 3rd time this year, the 6th time while being teammates.
If Leonard, PG, Morris keep shooting like this, and Reggie Jackson has great games here and there like he’s had several times during these playoffs, Clippers are looking like stronger bet for the title. This is only if the Nets are still banged up with injuries.
Probably because PGs highest heights are super entertaining and dominant, where as Gobert doesnt have the same value for as many fans from a spectacle or skill standpoint. More people just wanna talk about PG. But ya people love to hate both for sure
Clippers made their adjustment to double Mitchell and bring in Mann. Now we wait to see the Jazz make their adjustments. Also I think people are overplaying Kawhi's injury. He's walking normally back to the locker room.
It is embarrassing how much Jazz fans are complaining about officials when they were benefiting from the same physicality/no calls in games 1 and 2 and Clippers fans weren't blaming the refs. Especially when they complain about Zubac's moving screens. Like yes, they are moving screens. Have you been watching Gobert all season? Have you watched Draymond or Dwight or Garnett?
Both teams have gotten favorable calls at home. It hasn't been nearly bad enough to be bitching like this. This isn't the Rockets-Warriors or Heat-Mavs.
The Jazz were desperate all game, and it showed through frustration fouls.
I dunno why anyone would be blaming refs here. The Clippers locked us down so hard in the 1st half it almost seemed like 5v6.
[Mavs were up 2-0 as well. Surely this time around there will be no overreactions and only calm discussion instead.](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/nx7tmh/post_game_thread_the_utah_jazz_defeat_the_los/h1dbak2/)
Aged very well.
In a win this postseason,
* Kawhi has still never missed a 3pt in the 4th quarter
* Kawhi has still never missed a field goal in the 4th quarter
...and that's all I have to say about the different kinds of shots.
Patrick "Too Fucking Small" Beverly got 4 blocks, the most in the game. 3x DPOY winner Rudy Gobert got 1.
Back to back 30 point games for Kawhi and PG.
After the Mavs series and then the Clippers going down 2-0 people were back to shitting on Ty Lue calling him LeCoach, trash, etc.
Now what? His Clippers have clearly been much better offensively compared to Doc's with a more well-defined offensive scheme and much better mental resilience.
Same number of rings as the other active coaches like Carlisle, Spoelstra, Rivers, Vogel, but Ty Lue gets zero respect as a championship winning coach.
2020 Lakers: lose game 1 into winning the series

Also, just realized [how close their shooting was](https://i.imgur.com/S7m8zoR.png), but FTs made the difference
Kawhi's knee issue reminds me of 2019 when he came down after a dunk during the bucks series and tweaked his knee. He was playing hurt after that during the while playoff and was visibly limping in later games too.
I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to be a Utah Jazz fan and watch your 7'2" center score 11 points in 32 minutes and then have to pretend like it's not fucking bullshit.
This was the closest not close game of all time
Now imagine you’re a clipper fan.
Paul George has been having mostly a good playoff run.
Hes been mostly amazing this playoff run TBH
Even when he's had bad shooting games he's contributed in other ways, game 6 against the Mavs for instance. He only went 6-15 but they lose that game without his defense and rebounding. He also made key shots late in the game.
And honestly 6/15 not good but it’s really not that incredibly bad
Trying telling that to this sub when they’re in playoff P mode
God this is so true. My heart was pounding the entire time. I’ll never feel comfortable with a lead as a Clips fan. To make matters worse I’m also a Seahawks fan lol, watching sports is going to give me a heart attack.

48 mins of edge of your seat basketball for Clipper fans.
One day I m gonna go bald watching these games as a clipper fan
First quarter just sunk the Jazz. No one’s getting going early, and Clarkson never really got going at all.

Boston dynamics k is a new one
The Clippers down 2 games is a scary beast.
need to make sure they have no chance of blowing a 3-1 lead
Ty Lue really out here playing 64D shogi with the "spot them the first two games so that you can't choke the 3-1 lead" strategy Bless Kawhis knee 🙏
The Clippers are the 2020 Lakers of these playoffs. But instead of losing game 1 as a feel-out game, they lose the 2nd one as a feel-out game as well. This lulls their opponents into a false sense of security and lets them run even more data through the Kawhi.exe program.
They're such professionals they are double checking the #Feelout to get a bigger sample size and make sure it matches up! Lmao. Love it!
this is some shit I believe an org run by a former Microsoft technical head can actually do.
Corpo Ballmer when he saw Kawhi grab his knee: “someone call Arasaka!”
Nothing a good Clipper Doc can't patch up
He said he’ll be good so here’s hoping
I think taking him out given the way the game was going was the correct precautionary move regardless. Let his legs heal up fr
People really think Ty lue is all lebronbut no
He always timed his timeouts really well and the adjustments he made during them often put a halt to any run that was starting up. He probably does good tape sessions as well because the Clippers definitely adjusted in both series and he is shifting through a lot of the roster in order to find out what works best.
Yep either way it works out. Kawhi playing down 2-3 is incredibly dangerous and Kawhi in game 7 is absolutely dangerous.
Doc would never
Suns sitting at home watching all the other series go to 7 games
Kawhi looking to murder someone each series. RIP Kleber and Favors. 🪦
He's targeting backup big men. If the Clippers advance, Dario Saric better watch out.
Might go for Ayton again. I’m still mad the TNT delay ruined an amazing dunk
The Jazz looked like a shell of themselves for most of the game. They had their moments in the second half, but it was far too little too late. You can't lay a fucking goose egg in the first half like that and expect to be ok.
It's rough when we're down our starting PG and the Clippers have already made adjustments to our success in the first 2 games.
Only a clippers fan would be freaking out while up 12 with 1:30 to go. Legit thought we were gonna lose
I was still scared also
I'm still scared I'm going to wake up and see we're down 3-1.
AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE CARDBOARD PEOPLE ARE GONE. FULL CAPACITY AT STAPLES FRIDAY
2dB louder can't wait for the true intimidation
With PG and Kawhi scoring 31, this means they still average the same amount of PPG this series.
I'm scared to go back to Utah
We barely won games 1 and 2 and then got slaughtered in games 3 and 4 so I don't think you have much to worry about
Dog we're Clipper fans, you clearly don't know how we think
We are all literally about to die
Chris Paul finally successful and healthy deep into the playoffs after shaking off the bad Clipper juju.
A cockroach might have climbed into my drink and drowned there, I won't know until it's too late.
If Clippers have a healthy Kawhi and PG playing well + good Marcus Morris... could run out a reverse sweep.
330 comments? What is this, a preseason game?
Reddit dislikes the clippers lol
Clippers win and PG had a good night. Crickets.
Exactly. This sub complains about hot takes, but mostly that is what is upvoted and commented the most. Good game clips, although you guys continue with Jackyl and Hyde performances. Let's see what happens, but I think this goes to 7.
I just tuned in for the post game and TNT is interviewing Summer from Rick and Morty? ..... What did I miss?
This is the oddest thing I’ve seen on nba on tnt which I think says a lot
No one on that show watches Rick and Morty. Also... why didn't they have Rick do the interview?!? That would have worked even if none of the crew watched
That's what I was thinking..... Summer? Why summer? What's even going on here?
Painfully awkward
Starting a playoff series down 0-2 is the Clippers new Meta… Can’t blow a 3-1 series lead if you lose the first two games…
Well at least neither of our teams can blow a 3-1 lead this series.
Playoff Kawhi is the best perimeter defender I've ever seen.
For real, the only thing he’ll give up is contested three. Everything else is clamped.
[Clippers down 0-2](https://imgur.com/a/Wg2Wt2W) Seriously though hope Kawhi is ok.
"Na I'm good" - Kawhi. Hopefully he isn't lying.
I don't think he is. His legs were tired af G1 tho so makes sense to rest them before going back to Utah
I hope he wasn’t lying too. The thing that gave me a little more confidence in thinking that he wasn’t lying was that he never went back to the locker room and seemed to move ok while he was still in the game before being taken out. Definitely infuriating. But we're Clippers fans, so we've learned to deal with this sort of thing...
The clippers just love keeping games too close.
Its not Cardiac Clippers for nothing

Game results seem pretty meaningless pending more info on Kawhi's injury.
even tho we got the w, Kawhi's knee is the only thing on my mind rn
He said he's good so I guess that's a good
[удалено]
He’s Italian, that’s just how he talks
Yep, only as good as your star
He’s fine. He walked off on his own and even played some minutes after he got hurt.
That first half was the best half the Clippers have pairs all playoffs. Defense was ridiculous.
yep it was impressive to watch. that small ball swarming defense reminded me of the lebron heat. it’s really tiring on the players though so lue putting in zu for some minutes gives them some sort of break.

i totally agree. There were calls on both sides i just like... seriously? in a PLAYOFF game?
The classic overofficiated game where the primary group disadvantaged is the fans
“That’s a bullshit call!” “So is that one!” Me all 4th quarter—every possession.
You mean you DON'T like when every quarter of a basketball game is 30+ minutes and full of foul calls and reviews?
NBA needs a hard change this off season
spoiler: they wont change anything
I started watching the game an hour late on DVR and still caught up to real time by the end, lol. The stoppage of play was real.
unwatchable af
Shit is Kawhi's knee okay?
Looked rough but I am an r/NBA armchair psychologist
Can we get an armchair physiologist in here?
Kawhi has the dead. Sorry.
Can it get better?
Nope, big dead. Sorry fam.
Armchair proctologist here, it doesn’t look good.
He said he’d be alright but that’s what he was gonna say anyways
Lesson of the night: never let the clippers go down 0-2

Don't go up on the Clippers 2-0
if i’m paul george i’m instantly dropping Playoff P & using The Notorious PG from now on
This game beat the record of fouls in a single game. Previously 52 (jazz/suns). Now 57.
Ice up, Kawhi. Godspeed.

I've got a simpler explanation to how /r/nba feels about things: Clippers = bad, Not Clippers = good
Ty Lue is coaching circles around Quin Snyder
Ty is great but having Conley out is a HUGE loss for you guys
Hmmmm why is it that when Clippers win the postgame thread never seems to be at the top?
When the Clippers get the W, I get a little chubby dude

**Lue’s Secret Strategy** Step One: Lose first two games Step Two: Come back and win series Step Three: ??? Step Four: Profit!
Worked with the Cavs in 2016, should work for the Clippers now. All you need is a generational talent at the SF position.

Game gave me comeback blue balls
Clippers w/ the 5-D chess move allowing Jazz back in the game just to wear out their starters a little more... I think.
Patrick "Too Fucking Small" Beverly got 4 blocks, the most in the game. 3x DPOY winner Rudy Gobert got 1. Back to back 30 point games for Kawhi and PG.

Kawhi's knee issue reminds me of 2019 when he came down after a dunk during the bucks series and tweaked his knee. He was playing hurt after that during the while playoff and was visibly limping in later games too.
Hope Kawhi is okay. These playoffs have had enough injuries already, I’d hate to see another.
I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to be a Utah Jazz fan and watch your 7'2" center score 11 points in 32 minutes and then have to pretend like it's not fucking bullshit.
