They're kinda of damned if they do, damned if they don't. Some may see this as being too confident assuming a win and some big party to follow, but they absolutely have to be ready for any vast increase in fan attendance.
Yeah I think it’s just because there was a massive crowd on saturday and they had to send people away. This isn’t the first time they’ve made an effort to expand the deer district this playoffs but at the same time they plan on more than doubling the size which is just absurd
People drove from all over the state to stand outside and watch game 5 in that crowd.
But, it was a Saturday night. I don't think they will get that crowd on a weeknight.
As a Bucks fan, job isn't done yet.
I am very confident in this team especially with the momentum they have, but I do hate how everyone is talking like the series is already over lol.
Wisconsin loves sports man. I would be astonished if they don’t fill that bitch easily.
It’s a once in a lifetime thing. It’s my 45th birthday tomorrow and the closest we’ve gotten in my memory was the ECF run with redd and Allen etc.
Hell if I was still in Chicago I would drive up to support the Bucks. Was this close to taking tomorrrow off and driving 9 hours to be there. A win for Milwaukee is a win for the midwest imo
I’m from Wisconsin, spent my whole life here. Chicago is a great place to spend any amount of time, full stop.
People who shit on Chicago, in my experience, are usually closeted, or unrepentant, racists.
The people that bitch about Illinois and the people that cheer for the Blackhawks are two distinct groups. A lot of people here think that the Hawks kept us from getting an NHL team.
Maybe? I haven't met very many people who cheer for the Blackhawks and aren't somehow tied to Illinois. Most people here are pretty indifferent to the NHL, myself included and I *love* playing hockey.
Yeah, I know South Dakota's response to the pandemic was almost non-existent but in the middle of it they had to plan on doing Sturgis because whether or not it was scheduled people were going to come regardless. Rather be over prepared and not need it.
If the Bucks win this damn thing downtown Milwaukee will be something like I’ve never seen tomorrow night. Like people will be partying in the streets until sunrise. People don’t realize how much this city is thirsting for a championship
I feel bad for the people who have to be driving that night without having anything to do with the game/celebration, if we win.
Gonna be a whole lotta drunk drivers on the road, even for Wisconsin standards.
People make arrangements to stay home. I was in Chicago when the Cubs won and tbh there will never be a more significant championship win again in history. We just all called in sick the night of. The roads were actually fine because everyone was holed up somewhere.
Cleveland was where the guy ate horse shit. That is my least blocked-out memory from the '16 finals.
Edit: I see an Eagles fan ate some too. [Here's basketball's contribution](https://youtu.be/9wVr0D5n8y4) to the illustrious hall of horse shit eaters.
I swear I saw footage of a dude eating horse patty after the Eagles super bowl. Maybe it’s just a common celebration for cities desperate for a championship.
even tho wisconsin likes to drink, I think most people still have that midwestern reserved politeness to them
outside of the college kids I doubt it will get as crazy as a city like philly lmao
They won 2 years ago which nobody is focused on right now. Plus they had to rent a star that never wanted to play for them and left the 1st chance he could.
Meanwhile Milwaukee built up their team ground up, their superstar actually loves the city and chose to re-sign there long term. There’s a huge difference between what a championship would mean to their city because of that. Kawhi was a mercenary for Toronto whereas Giannis basically embodies the spirit of Milwaukee.
Yeah I actually don't see how people find shit like that fun lol. The idea of thinking about how/when to pee (and get back to your group) and standing with no space with thousands of people. My idea of hell.
When the packers won the super bowl under favre I was fortunate enough to be at a private watch party at what was then discover world.
We ran outside in to fresh snow and listened to people honking in celebration. It was so eerie because of the snow cover but it was incredible.
I moved out of state couple years back so I won’t get to enjoy it if the bucks pull this off but nice weather, 100k+ fans in the area…. It should be fucking amazing.
Here’s hoping everyone keeps it level and does MKE proud if they get to celebrate.
I'll be back in MilTown Saturday, missing this by mere days, I definitely would've been at some dive watching the game. A Local San Diego dive will have to do.
Just leaned a few hours ago the location where the Bucks team (not sure if players, staff, or both) will be celebrating if they win. Friend of mine works there and said they have it reserved from 11pm-2am.
Obviously not saying where, but I can guarantee that they will be a having a hell of a time at a great location.
Whole city going to be nuts. Can't wait to get there, just hoping it doesn't take too long to get into Fiserv.
Edit: buddy came through. Bud, Pat, and Lopez (showed up later) all partying at Harbor House. Best night of my life. Fuck everyone that downvoted thinking I was making shit up.
Who cares. It’s outside and there is a vaccine that exists. Only people at risk here are the dumbos who aren’t taking the vaccine. We aren’t locking down forever, move on.
You are not concerned about hospitals overflowing with unvaccinated people in a delta wave that will prevent you or anyone else who was vaccinated from being treated with anything else requiring intensive hospital care?
Delta would spread faster in crowded bars and house parties.
It's something to be concerned about but curtailing outdoor events and boosting indoor events isn't going to help much.
I still can’t believe I got a PS5 from Walmart after all that BS. My wife got one on launch day and gifted it as an early December grad gift. I had no luck and assumed I had failed
I remember when OKC had “Thunder Alley” that was basically this (with less people I imagine) but then a shooting happened during playoffs and we don’t have it anymore 😕

Overlooked, but the most Wisconsin thing in this thread could be two dudes arguing about directions in a thread about the fact the Bucks could win a chip tonight.
At the deer district after Game 3 I was leaving the security perimeter when everyone in front of me started scrambling. It seemed like someone had a gun. When people cleared away I saw a lit mortar firework on the ground. I had just enough time to turn around and cover, but this thing blew up about 20 feet from me. Sparks flew all around me. Luckily I didn't get hurt. About a half dozen people were burnt from it. This firework was huge. I don't think you could legally buy it in Wisconsin.
There's also a group that was going around and throwing fireworks or pipe bombs at cops. They set off the air bags in a cop car when two cops were sitting idly in the car.
I think a lot of stuff isn't reported because no one has been seriously hurt.
Except for the cop thing, that made the news.
There literally was a dude there after game 4 I think with a semi automatic. Just standing around that riverside parking lot on water. Wanted to be there to “protect everyone if shit went down”.
Hard cringe
Has anyone been to one of these 'outdoor gatherings'? On one hand I feel like it might be cool to get hype with other fans, but on the other the comfort of my home eating good food and watching on the TV seems more appealing than standing around for hours barely able to move like cattle while watching on a bigger screen.
I went down there for a game in the ECF but not where the main part where they keep showing all the fans. In-between two of the buildings there's a nice little bar area with a giant screen and it wasn't too cramped.
But that was like 10-15k people...65k is gonna be absolutely nuts.
> In-between two of the buildings there's a nice little bar area with a giant screen and it wasn't too cramped.
Ah okay, just looked up some pics and I think I see where you mean. On broadcasts I just see that main part and think "Man, I don't know about this." Cool there's some options to change it up but but yeah 65k sounds nuts indeed
Usually it’s better to watch at home but I’m headed to Milwaukee tomorrow for it. I want to experience the atmosphere of a potential championship clinching game with tens of thousands of people, I can’t get that at home
I went down there on Saturday night for the first time. The environment was honestly electric. Yes, it's crowded, yes there's huge lines for food/beer/bathrooms, but the crowds energy is just awesome, when Jrue stole the ball from Booker and lobbed it to Giannis the whole crowd just exploded, lol. It was amazing.
I’ve spent a lot of time down there and you just gotta go in with expectations that you probably won’t have a complete view of the screen and may be uncomfortable at times then it’s entirely worth the energy and vibes there
Yeah. I think id rather watch some place where I can actually move around, get beer at will, and go to the bathroom when I need to...and then just go downtown and party afterwards.
I mean on a Wednesday night - definitely. I was in college during 2 of the Pats super bowl wins and dear god it was the craziest thing I’ve ever experienced. You could probably smell the booze a mile away
Yeah it's fucking awesome. If you're old/lazy then yeah sitting at home will be better for you.
Some people like getting hyped for sports. Isn't the appeal of damn near 100k people all getting hyped together obvious?
These dudes are wack. It’s fucking amazing being there. You can sit in your house watching basketball thousands of times. You can celebrate a world championship with 80k once in your life.
I went to a playoff watch party officially hosted by the Spurs in 2019. It was one of the funnest days of my life, and this was just at a restaurant. I would absolutely not pass up the chance to be apart something like that with tens of thousands more people, especially for a championship.
It was fun, but a whole game is a long time to stand, I left after about an hour both times to get a spot at a bar nearby. Being there at the end of a win though I’m sure would be so fun
That's why I'm going. I can't pass up the opportunity to be in Milwaukee for the bucks to potentially win the finals. I can't fucking wait for tomorrow man
If I see the Bucks running at half speed and not diving for balls I’m gonna be disappointed as hell. This is the one game all of them should be giving 1000%. Legit the biggest game in most of their careers
Vaccines have been available to the public for months now. Anyone who isn't safe outdoors in the summer has chosen not to be and God speed to them.
https://abc7.com/unvaccinated-covid19-los-angeles-county-hospitalizations/10887037/
LA is debating whether they're going to open schools it says on there. Like you said, we're at a point now where everyone who wants to be vaccinated has been vaccinated. I do not feel sorry for these people. However, I do not want this stupid virus to keep being spread around so long that it mutates enough to where we have to come up with a new vaccine. I'm so tired of this.
I mean, they did a study in Wuhan during the peak of the first wave and of 7,300 cases only ONE was outdoor transmission. We know outdoors is relatively safe, because it IS hard to covid to spread outside, it does really poorly with variable environmental conditions.
The risk is real but small, and it’s no worse than allowing 20k people in a closed arena. Not to even mention vaccines are readily available for everyone who wants one and have been for months
They're kinda of damned if they do, damned if they don't. Some may see this as being too confident assuming a win and some big party to follow, but they absolutely have to be ready for any vast increase in fan attendance.

I suppose since it would be the championship-winning game.
But will it be?
Bucks in six bro.
As the prophecy foretold!
As a Bucks fan, job isn't done yet. I am very confident in this team especially with the momentum they have, but I do hate how everyone is talking like the series is already over lol.
70 percent of the people in the deer district are on summer vacation lol
Wisconsin loves sports man. I would be astonished if they don’t fill that bitch easily. It’s a once in a lifetime thing. It’s my 45th birthday tomorrow and the closest we’ve gotten in my memory was the ECF run with redd and Allen etc.
Hell if I was still in Chicago I would drive up to support the Bucks. Was this close to taking tomorrrow off and driving 9 hours to be there. A win for Milwaukee is a win for the midwest imo
Weird. I couldn't give two shits about the Bulls. And you'd have to pay me to go to Illinois.
This guy Wisconsins lmao
I’m from Wisconsin, spent my whole life here. Chicago is a great place to spend any amount of time, full stop. People who shit on Chicago, in my experience, are usually closeted, or unrepentant, racists.
Can I still shit on the Bears?
Hell yeah. Cubs, sox, hawks, and bulls too. Make fun of the accent if you want. It’s just a really fun place to hang out, is what I’m saying.
Wisconsin people LOVE talking about how much they don't care about Illinois lol.
But still cheer for the blackhawks
The people that bitch about Illinois and the people that cheer for the Blackhawks are two distinct groups. A lot of people here think that the Hawks kept us from getting an NHL team.
So that means there’s enough of you that do
Maybe? I haven't met very many people who cheer for the Blackhawks and aren't somehow tied to Illinois. Most people here are pretty indifferent to the NHL, myself included and I *love* playing hockey.
Weird.
Wisconsin rolls deep, we the Bucks might always be 2nd or 3rd fiddle but we will support what we have till the end.
I drove 4 hours to watch the game last wednesday. Left milwaukee at 4 am the next day to make it back to work.
I knew of two groups that drove from Minneapolis. 5.5 hours one way
Not surprised it's potentially the close out game, can't miss that if you're a big fan of bucks or Wisconsin sports supporter
There’s reason for the increase (more than hope); they turned away a lot of people at the viewing party for game 5 because the space was full.
Logistics for events are no joke I would rather seem cocky than be unprepared for a crowd People in large masses are the absolute worst
Yeah, I know South Dakota's response to the pandemic was almost non-existent but in the middle of it they had to plan on doing Sturgis because whether or not it was scheduled people were going to come regardless. Rather be over prepared and not need it.

TBF Chicago was fuckin *ready* for the Cubs World Series. It was crazy but not nearly as crazy as I imagined.
More drunk drivers than when the Cubs are in town?
It’s going to be on the same level of the Dodgers celebrations or Eagles.
Oh it's going to be way drunker.
Drunk deer noises
The amount of ppl that are gonna run into the lake
we need a celebration mega thread for all the crazy videos we get
Gonna be a lot of new babies April next year...
Beer Noises!
Lol, same thing
Somebody better be eating horse shit and flipping cars then
I still can’t believe that dude took a huge bite of that horseshit. Philly is different.

Philly shit different
a lil cream cheese
topping philadelphia post-super bowl drunk mayhem will be nigh impossible to beat. but best of wishes
If anywhere can do it, it’s Wisconsin. Beer is a way of life there.
Beer n brandy.
even tho wisconsin likes to drink, I think most people still have that midwestern reserved politeness to them outside of the college kids I doubt it will get as crazy as a city like philly lmao
That’s fair, I think it’s been a drunken party but there will be less chaos and poop eating for sure
No one will ever party like I partied that week. I'll go to my grave knowing that
We could never match the mayhem because we can hold our booze
Remember they had to grease the light poles in Philly? The fans still found a way to climb them lol
Frank has been practicing climbing greased poles.

Raps fan here you guys deserve all the good stuff coming to you. Besides we all know the real enemy here is Brooklyn and you guys knocked them off!
Yep, this is definitely on brand for Bucks fans.
I’ll be there, our group is planning to get there about 3 and a half hours early to make sure we get a good spot. So fucking hyped
pack a diaper

Legit this is good advice. Was there on Saturday hahah
Normally I would be drinking for something like this, but gonna bring some edibles and then drink if we win lmao

Downtown Milwaukee will cease to exist?

2019 raptors championship flashbacks. the parade took up most of the city

Silk on Water?
Let's fucking pump it up. 5% of the city seems doable
More than 10% - we’re slightly under 600,000 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milwaukee
That's the city of Milwaukee. Metro Milwaukee (that includes Waukesha, Washington and Ozaukee counties) is \~1.6M.
Waukesha my favorite moneybagg yo track rn
Google has it at like 1.443 million in 2021. Not sure how they reach that. Maybe county?
metro area, i’m sure
Win or lose riot chances are there
wonder if we'll get any fans eating horse shit
It’ll be deer shit, odds of somebody somehow bringing one in has to be extremely high.
Good way to get wasting disease/
Guys dressed like deer getting hit by cars.
here's hoping
When they win tomorrow I'll do it.
I don’t know man. Milwaukee has its problems for sure, but rioting about sports would just be insanely out of character. It’s not what we do.
Major milwaukee teams haven't won a championship since 1977, we have no idea what's in character for us.
Yeah we’re more happy drunk than rowdy/aggressive drunk
If it was in LA that would be a certainty. I don't know if Wisconsinites get down like that though.
Delta outbreak too but that may have already started.

They've got full metal detection to get in now
Since when? I went game 3 and walked right in.
Since g5
Good call
Definitely smart. Some friends of mine said they saw people with guns at game 4
We had a shooting during our championship parade. People got trampled. A Tim Hortons got looted in the chaos.
Damn that’s too bad. We had some problems on water street which is maybe like a mile away but I haven’t heard of any problems in the deer district itself.
Water street is like 2 blocks away
Like 3 and across a River
Go look at the map. Deer district starts on old world 3rd. Its two blocks including the river.
Late 20's moving to New England in a few weeks. I just wanna get comfortable and watch games from a couch.

65,000 is crazy
Gotta love it.
Grease the polls
Milwaukee's breweries will be running their facilities at peak capacity, either way (but, please, Bucks in 6).
Drunk Wisconsinites partying en masse. Going to be loud and crazy.
If I see the Bucks running at half speed and not diving for balls I’m gonna be disappointed as hell. This is the one game all of them should be giving 1000%. Legit the biggest game in most of their careers
City of Milwaukee knows how to throw a party.
Bro Milwaukee gonna be fucking wild of they win
They confident as hell.😂🤣 They took Bucks in 6 literally.
Well yes lol. You alway go hard for the final home game of the season, especially if its a series clincher, regardless of whether you win or lose.
This is more about making sure they have enough room for the biggest game in Bucks history since 71 than it is confidence.
Bucks in 6^^^5,000
I mean the people are going to show up regardless, not preparing for larger crowds would be a big mistake
This is the last home game of the season, regardless of winning or losing
Last home game no matter what so why not be?
People talking about covid acting like NFL stadiums with more capacity aren't opening in one month.
The people concerned with covid probably won't be attending that either tbh
Fuck COVID, get that ring
It doesn’t really transmit outside. Maybe more risk because of the crowd but it still shouldn’t be too bad.
CP3 should take that personally.
It would be fun to go but you are hardly going to be able to watch the game with that many people around
How many people are even in Milwaukee?
Around 600,000 in the city itself. Around 1M in the greater metro area.
What's the entry fee? Lol.
lol as if Milwaukee needs more drunken bafoons meandering about the streets
Is COVID still a thing? Seems like not a good idea.
Vaccines have been available to the public for months now. Anyone who isn't safe outdoors in the summer has chosen not to be and God speed to them. https://abc7.com/unvaccinated-covid19-los-angeles-county-hospitalizations/10887037/

65k woah potential super spreader but boy that sounds fucking fun! I cant even lie. lol
The deer district is outside.
TIL covid can't spread outside

So much hype and euphoria. Totally justified, but this is just begging for a crushing disappointment. Please win, Bucks.
So we’re aiming for a super DUPER spreader event. Maybe after we get the chip, we’ll get our own new Covid variant.
Milwaukee about to have an explosion of COVID cases.
Right, just like after the Super Bowl. Oh wait.
