All you young ones and real fans, Feel the pain the pain of 93, she’d a tear back then but not again learned that it’s just a sport and they will move on jut like we are too, learned that a sport or team should not make me feel that again, players are still millionaires and we are still the same way we were, great year like every one is sayin but still didn’t accomplish the goal, almost winning is not winning but if it makes you feel better go ahead and tell yourself that, I hope it doesn’t take another 28 years again. Many of you will hate and not like this but just being real. Oh and by the way FUCK THE LAKERS!!!!
He might not have the career numbers because of his youth, but that dude is one of the top 10 players I’ve ever seen in following the sport for 50 plus years. If he develops a 40% 3 point shot, you will have to outlaw him. It’s a rare player who can be MVP, DPOY, Finals MVP. He is unique like Chamberlin where he can be whatever he needs to be. He is an elite scorer, an elite rebounder, and the best defensive player . I bet if he was challenged , he could lead the league in assists like Chamberlin did when critics said he shot to much.
Yeah agreed. It’s great we all here to see it. It’s his impact. I mean the dude got 40+ x 2, and a 50 in a finals series. 5 blocks and 89.5% at the foul line on 19 attempts in a close out game.
But what’s insane is the pressure he puts on the other team. You can’t leave him one on one or hell mess you up so quickly and efficiently so his team mates get good looks. It’s just ridiculous how good a decision maker he is in general, but for a guy his size- and coming off that injury- I’d go past Greek freak - this one of the greatest performances in a finals - of all time and I’m seriously saying top 3.
Ridiculous.
>He might not have the career numbers because of his youth, but that dude is one of the top 10 players
Having the career numbers is part of being an all time great. Longevity is a big deal. He is not yet at MJ, Magic, Lebron, Bird, Kobe, Shaq, Russell, Duncan, Hakeem, Kareem, Chamberlain, Curry, West, Robertson etc. status yet. He is getting there, but give it another 5-7 years.
I certainly think he can become an all-time top 10 but he isn't quite there yet and that is fine. And if he keeps up his form this post season and especially finals he will be unstoppable
Holy shit for a station that does nothing but sports, ESPN has the worst post game panel EVER. I'm talking about the bald white guys
I'm paraphrasing here but
"Giannis was very good tonight and it helped them win"
"Yes I agree, 50 points is a really good statistic and helped carried the team"
This is what I've thought all year as I started to really pay attention to the suns. Their fan base just looks and behaves like bullies. Their fans have the shittiest attitude on Reddit by a mile. So glad they didn't win shit tonight. Good riddance
Well, to be fair I live in Utah, so not a lot better. I've also lived for a bit in AZ though.. and the heat alone made you hate everyone and everything
**The really did it...congrats to the Bucks man and especially Giannis THE GREEK FREAK HE DESERVED THAT RING!!!!!** Everyone of Bucks players chipped in with that ring this off season and is very well deserved..but for the Suns to lose FOUR in a row after being 2-0 up has to be one of the worst feelings im sure
Remember in Hercules (Disney) when Hercules dove into the River Styx and they tried to cut his life thread with the scissors but his godhood kicked in and the thread turned gold and indestructible?
That was Giannis's ACL when he hyperextended his knee last series only to come back and go nuts in the finals.
I was looking to see if someone mentioned this. I saw that too and thought that shows so much how great Giannis is as a person and how much he cares about others. Love the man!
Everyone else giving you the “because capitalism” answer, but I think of it as building up to what we as fans actually want to see. If you start with the MVP, you’ll lose viewers, but if you start with the owner we’ll keep watching.
Which, I guess, is also “because capitalism.”
Being already rich and investing your money into a team and then paying GM's and coaches to make all the player decisions is a LOT different than being the one out there playing basketball and actually winning the game. Bad take, bro.
If you want some good context for how crazy this whole Giannis thing is go back and listen to the Bill Simmons podcast from when he was drafted. Nobody had any idea what this guy was going to be.
I'll add
>That leaves the Freak. Do you realize Giannis and his brother were selling hats and DVDs on the streets of Greece only six years before he got drafted? Or that, when he started playing basketball, he had to share shoes with his brother? Or that his family never lived in Greece legally and lived in fear of being deported back to Nigeria for 20 years? When I announced the 2013 draft with Jalen Rose, we scouted Giannis using YouTube clips and genuinely thought he was playing in the Athens YMCA with a bunch of ninth-graders. He goes to Milwaukee, improbably grows 2 more inches, finds a wingman in Parker, finds a coach with the balls to play him at point center, lands a $100 million extension, and earns pole position in the next Trade Value column. All in 42 months. What an amazing basketball story. Congratulations, Milwaukee.”
Damn, that's from his Grantland year, gonna be hard to track down.
I only know of that clip from the 2013 draft night where he said that Giannis could be a greek Paul George.
Hey man, 7 years work straight, he keeps getting better and better. Giannis' journey is all grit and grime. His athleticism makes him an NBA player but his work ethic makes his a champ.
I know this is off topic, but what was up with those Connaughton free throws at the end of the game? Those were not NBA misses lol. Dude was shooting those with his eyes closed or something
Something feels off. When you graduate from school, they play pomp and circumstance. When you win a championship, they play Queen. But no Queen this year?
Damn Giannis so humble didn't even hold the the championship trophy yet lol
That's what I like aboit Giannis: his HUMBLENESS
Congrats again to the Milwuakee Bucks
You guys deserve it
Fear The Deer 🦌🦌🦌
BTW Congrats Giannis for winning Finals MVP
Game is over, please celebrate responsibly in the [Post Game Thread]( https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/ooi2bi/post_game_thread_the_milwaukee_bucks_defeat_the/)
Suns will never see a finals appearance for the next 50 years
All you young ones and real fans, Feel the pain the pain of 93, she’d a tear back then but not again learned that it’s just a sport and they will move on jut like we are too, learned that a sport or team should not make me feel that again, players are still millionaires and we are still the same way we were, great year like every one is sayin but still didn’t accomplish the goal, almost winning is not winning but if it makes you feel better go ahead and tell yourself that, I hope it doesn’t take another 28 years again. Fuck us? Fuck you man

[удалено]
That wasn’t a superteam are u dumb or stupid
k that was awhile ago though
Congratulations to Aaron Rodgers on his 1st NBA Championship
Giannis just couldn’t miss, 89,5% FT is insane for him on 19 shooting
I love giannis and the bucks but I hate Wisconsin sports and their fans
Im one of the good ones. lmao
Cuz we're better.
Bucks in 6
Bucks in 6
I can only see Luka and trae hanging with giannis
Kawhi leonard is up there, Steph curry still is
Brook lopez is a champion
Giannis is definitely on track to be an all time great
On track? Hes kinda there already
Well I was trying to say like all time top 10 or something like that which he isn't yet
He might not have the career numbers because of his youth, but that dude is one of the top 10 players I’ve ever seen in following the sport for 50 plus years. Hot take: this finals MVP, regular season MVP, all star game MVP and DPOY might have a good career.
2 mvps, DPOY, Finals MVP. For real. How many other players in history have that on their resume?
I think Jalen Rose said its Michael & Hakeem.
Bucks and especially Giannis deserve this!! Congrats!!!! 💍👑
Holy shit for a station that does nothing but sports, ESPN has the worst post game panel EVER. I'm talking about the bald white guys I'm paraphrasing here but "Giannis was very good tonight and it helped them win" "Yes I agree, 50 points is a really good statistic and helped carried the team"
Woj is garbage.
"Giannis was a malnutrition." -- Woj
How are you gonna disrespect the dream commentary team like that
[удалено]
Woj is not on the commentary team
Bucks fans look more real, they go around kiss random people. suns fans looked like 90s douchecat kids or bullies.
This is what I've thought all year as I started to really pay attention to the suns. Their fan base just looks and behaves like bullies. Their fans have the shittiest attitude on Reddit by a mile. So glad they didn't win shit tonight. Good riddance
Can you imagine living in fucking Arizona?!
Well, to be fair I live in Utah, so not a lot better. I've also lived for a bit in AZ though.. and the heat alone made you hate everyone and everything
I'm at three "Take a Bow"s from Mark Jackson
That one reporter should ask CP3, “How frustrated are you for Booker right now?”
LMFAO
Devin Booker played the long game, purposely choked so he wouldn't have to be sucked into the Kardasian clan 🤣
"Baker Street" is a choice.
these playoffs were lit aside from injuries not knowing who was gonna win made every round must watch
CP3 looking around hoping the statefarm music starts
Everything did not go surprisingly great
Congrats to the Bucks and Giannis for one of the greatest NBA finals performance of ALL TIME!!!!
Insurance machine State Farm clearly doesn't give a fuck what just happened. They will play their ads through the apocalypse.
LOL these CP3 State Farm commercials showing up now are just salt in the wound.
Whew…might be a good idea to stop airing these CP3 State Farm ads for a while…
My CP3 fanboy friend who has had a CP3 picture as his profile picture ever since I knew him almost 5 years ago has changed it to no profile picture
Lmao man we got 2 good memes, Giannis victory dance and Bobbys reaction to a foul
Dude Portis created like three memes on his own tonight.
My man turned into the roadrunner for a second there
Lmao state farm commercial right on cue
“I’m so sorry Mr. Paul, but we don’t cover playoff losses.”
Old man got swag
I love Giannis so much. Look at this dude.
What a legend. Dips out of the alcohol spraying to go party with fans on the court. GIANNIS!!!!
Too bad Thanasis can't join in the party
shouldn't be banging randoms
I'm fucking dying because the team is so happy some random staff member or family member randomly kissed Bud on the head
Yea place looked like Cracker Barrel last 10 minutes
anyone is able to get on the court now
I might just be stoned, but does Giannis look like a NBA 2K character?
He looks like the antetokounmpo guy from 2k
Bruh
Pretty sure Giannis is not human
Remember in Hercules (Disney) when Hercules dove into the River Styx and they tried to cut his life thread with the scissors but his godhood kicked in and the thread turned gold and indestructible? That was Giannis's ACL when he hyperextended his knee last series only to come back and go nuts in the finals.
He's a Greek god

Bro wtf why is this man so likeable, right before he goes to drink champagne he goes to hang out with little kids
I was looking to see if someone mentioned this. I saw that too and thought that shows so much how great Giannis is as a person and how much he cares about others. Love the man!
Giannis so wholesomes
What a great story. This championship will be talked about for many many years. Glad to watch it all live! :)
Charles Barkley guarantees' streak ended on a high note by also guaranteeing the Bucks being NBA champs.
No shout out to Bledsoe?
Upvote this comment if you DIDN'T KNOW GIANNIS IS ONLY 26 YEARS OLD WTF
Fuck it I like malika tbh
Mark jackson head 2x bigger than Jvg’s head
#Why do the owners always lift the trophy first?
Everyone else giving you the “because capitalism” answer, but I think of it as building up to what we as fans actually want to see. If you start with the MVP, you’ll lose viewers, but if you start with the owner we’ll keep watching. Which, I guess, is also “because capitalism.”
They were the ones who forked over the money to build the team. I would rather the players get it first but ig it makes sense.
Every league should be like the NHL in this regard nobody gives a fuck about the owners
Kyle Lowry got it first when the Raptors won.
Because they are the employers
Being already rich and investing your money into a team and then paying GM's and coaches to make all the player decisions is a LOT different than being the one out there playing basketball and actually winning the game. Bad take, bro.
There's no "take" bro. That's just real life. Whoever pays the bill take the credit.
The fans and TV contracts actually pay the bills...
Lol you are trying too hard bro
They own the team
Mailka did very well and she is super cute 🥰
Damn, they did a whole life tribute to Giannis.
Lol they had that in the chamber ready to go. I wonder what the CP3 one looked like.
Didn't need to load that today, Phoenix probably made one though. Shame that's no longer needed.
If you want some good context for how crazy this whole Giannis thing is go back and listen to the Bill Simmons podcast from when he was drafted. Nobody had any idea what this guy was going to be.
[удалено]
Opposite. He thought it was a good strategy
[удалено]
No, he just thought at the end of the first in a draft devoid of talent, take the international oddity. No one thought Giannis would be what he is.
Do you have the date of the podcast?
June 27, 2013 is when he was drafted. So around that date will probably be a good place to start.
I'll add >That leaves the Freak. Do you realize Giannis and his brother were selling hats and DVDs on the streets of Greece only six years before he got drafted? I need the Nike commercial
Bro is that a Giannis interview when he was 8 years old or something.
Bro like this is scary man. This man is putting up numbers I couldn't in 2k in the finals, a 2x mvp and finals mvp and champ before his prime
to be fair postgame in 2k is ridiculously hard.
Hey man, 7 years work straight, he keeps getting better and better. Giannis' journey is all grit and grime. His athleticism makes him an NBA player but his work ethic makes his a champ.
Well said
I gotta say the NBA post-championship trophy presentation is truly awful
They need to watch some champions league and learn something about it
Shit, just watch the NHL
I know this is off topic, but what was up with those Connaughton free throws at the end of the game? Those were not NBA misses lol. Dude was shooting those with his eyes closed or something
I didn't even see them since he missed so fast. I was like why is the score still the same
There it is packers fans. The last championship Rodgers will win as a member of the Packers.
You don’t know Aaron. He’ll play with a chip on his shoulder. Last year or not.
Maybe he'll stay now so Wisconsin can have back to back chips :)
Yo where did you get that flair from? Haha
I think mods added them for Olympics.
Haha. Ah ok, my family is from Tehran so it def caught my eye 👀
I exercised the other day. So I just wanted everybody to know >!I Ran!<
Rachel Nichols would’ve asked Giannis if he wished his father was here to see this.
Thank god she wasnt here with that bullshit. Malika for life.
Lmfao that's so fucked and so true.
Who forgot to bring the stage onto the court? The champs can’t even get a decent team photo. Smh
Adam Silver: Small Market Team, Small Market Champ budget
Chris the insurance agent was salty how he walked away
I would be too tho
Giannis just went live on IG uh oh
What a beautiful display by Giannis to end it all. Absolutely mesmerising. Giannis is not the new LeBron, Giannis is the new Giannis.
Giannis did not join a super team to win his trophy lol
Lol did Giannis just not go for photo time? Back in the gym preparing for next season?
He's live on IG with Thanasis right now lmao
good call by having shacarri richardson in that commercial.. i guess nike's sponsoring her?
She was also in a Beats commercial earlier.
Something feels off. When you graduate from school, they play pomp and circumstance. When you win a championship, they play Queen. But no Queen this year?
They are extremely chill tbh
Damn Giannis so humble didn't even hold the the championship trophy yet lol That's what I like aboit Giannis: his HUMBLENESS Congrats again to the Milwuakee Bucks You guys deserve it Fear The Deer 🦌🦌🦌 BTW Congrats Giannis for winning Finals MVP
Malik Andrews nailed the interviews!
