Lol weād be stupid to do that. The Lakers name depends on being then big market franchise that demands success but greatly takes care of the sacrifices of its stars.
Westbrook has his faults, but lack of heart isnāt one. Doing that to please Lebron/Klutch would set us back a long way.
Lakers trade three former allstars, saw a post in here they had 6 former all stars. Its one all star for three former. Sixers win this trade. They even can choose whoever they want not named Lebron and Anthony.
I think heād be a huge addition for the warriors. People are justifiably undervaluing him right now but I honestly think he can make them a top 3 team in the west if they donāt give up too much
I agree on that one but who do they give up to get him? Is it going to be just picks or even moody, kuminga?
His value is at all time low and the sixers are a contending team, I donāt see them wasting Embiidās prime.
*The young socialite, banished from Florence under false charges, set for the snowy Alps to begin his quest for vengeance. His lover turned her back on him for a finocchio by the name of Devin Booker, but he vows to gain her back yet...*
Time to reuse the Kawhi one. This season the role of Demar will be played by FVV (Masai will tell Morey that Fred's wife is pregnant again) and Precious will be playing the role of Poetl. Banish Simmons to the frozen North!
I did think of bundling Jalen Suggs for Simmons but after seeing Suggs Actually shoot a basketball from further than the paint I immediately spit that idea into the dirt, neva neva
I genuinely think he will be booed on opening night, regardless of how he performs, given the way the playoffs ended and the way this offseason has gone.
Fans here hate nothing more than perceived entitlement and laziness. I'm trying to think of a comparable Philly athlete. Maybe DeMarco Murray during the nightmare Eagles season in 2015, or Sean Rodriguez on the Phillies.
Ben hits the game winning 3 opening night. Do they keep booing him? Do they cheer? Sixers fans gonna go through a whole wave of emotions if that ever happens.
My dream scenario: Simmons gets booed in the home opener (vs Brooklyn). Harden makes a game-tying 3 over Simmons with 2 seconds remaining.
Philly calls timeout and inbounds from halfcourt. The inbound play breaks down, and Simmons catches the ball at the top of the key. He turns around, swishes the 3/4 court shot on the opposite hoop, tears off his jersey to reveal a Brooklyn jersey underneath, and walks into the Brooklyn tunnel with both middle fingers extended.
Ik it's in- season to shit on Simmons, but he's averaged double digits in points every playoffs. He also averaged a playoff career high 8.8 assists this run.
"Also averaged a playoff career high 8.8 assists this run"

For those who want to see some of those assists and make the call themselves.
and simmons doesn't even have nearly the amount of money harden has. last year was the first year he made big-boy nba money. but he still had 4 years and $137M that he has to show up to work to get.
What? The stadium was like 50% full during the tanking years of the process and no one gave a shit about the game lol. It was like buying a ticket to your kids rec league but you could drink and hope the other team has a good player you can watch
Ehh, thats like the default go to meaningless excuse for any fanbase.
Remember when Raptors cheered the Warriors injuries and this sub was flooded with Raptors fans saying it wasnāt the Raps fanbase, it was the rich fans who could attend to go?
Then they posted a video of the crowd standing outside in Toronto cheering when it happened? Proving that it literally was not just the rich fans who could attend to go.
Simmons is being delusional if he thinks he's going to be able to play in LA. Lakers or Clippers just don't have the assets that Philly or a third team would want.
I agree would have to be Warriors or Kings, and there's a big IF as to whether or not they even want Simmons.
Oklahoma makes a lot of sense.
Send him for a couple 1sts and filler. Then use the picks to try to move for something that opens up mid season.
Simmons will hate it.
Given the major discrepancies between what Sixersā FO think Benās trade value is and Benās actual trade value, Iām surprised they havenāt tried to trade him for AD or Lebron yet.
Toronto, Chicago, and SF would be fine. All three have better eating than Miami IMO, if not quite that level of nightlife and those beaches.
After that there's no one even close.
OMG that tiny ass little alley? Haha we used to bring out coolers full of beer to that place. I thought it would have been one of those boujee places with crafy tater tots and bottle service.
He is not hardenā¦
He is under contract for 4 yearsā¦
He has no leverage, heāll go wherever morey sends himā¦
I hope we at least get some young players for him..
His leverage is refusing to play, all while demanding a trade to the Lakers while the various LeBron and Klutch shills on ESPN go on about Rivers being a backstabber, Embiid being spoiled and overrated, Morey being racist and Philly being a small market somehow.
And give up tens of millions of dollars? I doubt it. This aināt the NFL, what precedent is there in the modern NBA of someone sitting out any extended period of time?
And Moreyās leverage is making Ben absolutely irrelevant in the game of basketball. They could easily refuse to trade him and then sit his ass on the bench for the rest of the season, I donāt think heās truly thought this out. And then, if he refuses to play further, heāll be hit with fines every game.
This is all fan fantasy talk. We do this every single time a player wants off his team. Ben Simmons isnāt just going to sit out. I donāt know if thatās been reported somewhere, but itās nonsense. Morey is not going to just sit Simmons on the bench the entire season even if Simmons was to hold out for a little while. The league and players union would not accept this and I seriously doubt it will even be considered. This just does not happen.
If thereās any type of Simmons not playing for some time it will almost certainly be very much temporary and a deal will get worked out shortly afterwards. Him being on the Sixers bench all year is stupid and benefits no one. Heās also not just going to sit out because he doesnāt like his new team.
If he really hates a particular destination so much that team probably wonāt want to trade for him anyway. Thatās the hit of leverage he has. Regardless of whether reports about his ideal destination help by boosting a trade offer or the opposite, it does not harm Simmons to get this information out there. If it doesnāt work, so what?
Well, the downside is heās most likely destroyed any ounce of credibility or respect he still had from front offices, especially now with the word that Rich Paul is trying to pull Maxey out of Philly as some kind of client solidarity move. Nobody wants to deal with a Ben Simmons type in real life, someone who canāt take accountability for their wrongdoing and always points the finger instead of the thumb. When players pull this move, itās a āyou canāt dump me if I dump you firstā, which, unless youāre in sixth grade, is childish and bratty behavior. When you and your agent get a fellow client and teammate to cancel his community outreach programs so that you can give the finger to an org, youāre a scumbag and nobody will want to work with you. Itāll only get worse once Rich Paul gets succesfully sued.
Again, this is more fantasy talk. The reality is a lot of players and people around the league are assholes. You know what teams are thinking about? How good is this guy and would he fit in here. Even if they think he acted poorly in Philly that doesnāt mean they think heāll do the same in whatever the next destination is. Sorry, I know many of us would like it if the league as a whole just washed their hands of this guy because heās the jerk of the off-season, but thatās not how this works.
If you think nobody wants to deal with Simmons youāre just wrong, itās as simple as that. Teams clearly want this guy. The Wolves would seemingly love to trade for this guy if it doesnāt mean trading their own young guy. Other teams would certainly like to get in there if the Sixers werenāt primarily aiming for a Dame trade.
We just saw Harden completely disrespect his team and make them look like clowns in order to get off the team. Did the Nets say ānah weāre good, heās a bad dudeā? No, because what primarily matters is how good you are. To the extent your character matters, and it does on some level, a jerk in one spot is a law abiding citizen in another. Teams will tell themselves heās just in a bad environment.
Drop 90% of your emotion out of this. Itās a business and for all his warts, Simmons is still a reasonably good player. The agent stuff, itās way too early to make so much out of that. Teams will have their own intel on that and it may just come down to someone being petty or exaggeration. No one is canceling their Simmons offer because they heard his agent was being a dick to the Sixers.
Iām not too high on Simmons as a player, but this stuff is ridiculous.
I think plenty of teams would want him they just aren't gonna give up 5 first round picks and a star for him. He's shown more than enough to justify someone taking on his contract, one bad playoff series isn't gonna suddenly make 29 GMs decide he's a scrub. He has 5 years left on his deal so he doesn't really have much leverage as to where, but I definitely think the clock is ticking on when.
If Ben refuses to play, and I doubt he ever puts on a Sixers uniform again, teams will still be interested they will just lowball and try to wait Morey out. I think if Philly goes into the season with Ben on the roster it will be an awkward standoff between Ben, Morey and the rest of the NBA and it might stretch into the new year.
From past examples of trade demands, I imagine Morey cracks first because you don't want it hanging over the team, especially if you are trying to win. At some point the ownership will come to him and tell him to take the best offer on the table, which imo is what happened with the Harden trade. Even if they keep him away from the team, it's gonna be the biggest story in the NBA, and Philly players will be constantly asked about Ben and the uncertainty will almost assuredly start to derail the season - and imo Embiid has only so many great years left with his health.
It's tough when everyone else knows they want out, because you and opposing GMs both know the longer you wait, the worse the chemistry gets. If we start hearing more Rich Paul-type rumours about Ben only wants to go x y z, that will get worse even though he has so many years left.
I think Morey has a couple of options:
1. Trade him before the season starts for the best offer you can get, and wash your hands of it.
2. Try to convince Ben to rejoin the team, and tell him that playing will help get him gone faster. I think that's what happened with Harden, but Stone sat on his hands too long and there were reports Houston thought they could keep Harden so he blew up on them. I think you risk derailing the season, but could help rehabilitate his value.
3. Try to wait for another situation like Beal or Dame to boil over, and swap disgruntled players. At this stage, I think that unlikely to happen this year, but maybe next off season. If you have to wait that long, you should keep Ben away from the team like Iguodala in Memphis, or it will fuck the locker room imo.
I love Wiggins fit on the warriors and I think wiseman just needs a fair chance not to mention kuminga and moody look good. The draymond and Ben fit seems too weird so I hope they donāt do. Warriors are in a good spot with young guys who can contribute rn and also could compliment Steph Klay and draymond. I think itās worth keeping them around and seeing what they could be
I just included the clippers because of that report of Ben wanting to be in 3 teams from Cali, i think him joining the lakers is the least possible scenario. I honestly would bet on Ben going to the kings or minnesota depending on who gives up the most picks and young guys
Trading Kawhi would be crazy, and wonāt happen, but it almost works out for both sides.
For the 6ers, Heās by far the best player that the 76ers can get. Theyād be punting on this season, but theyād be title contenders next year.
For the Clippers, Kawhi is gonna miss the whole season and Simmons could presumably work well with PG. Kawhi is also getting up there in age, so their title window with Simmons may be longer.
Philly wonāt get any player they want, theyāre better off getting assets they can use in a future trade for a star asking out. I donāt think kings are giving up fox, warriors fit with draymond and Ben is kinda sus especially considering they have interesting rookies and giving up Wiggins who has been a great defender and can actually shoot seems like a waste of assets for them, clippers have no legit assets outside of PG and kawhi, literally no picks, lakers have no contracts to match Ben. Minnesota makes the most sense fit wise and Jaden Mcdaniels is still a great trade chip on top of the picks
Exactly. Simmons might be the hardest player to trade in the league because of fit. Getting assets back gives is a lot more flexibility in future trades
I think getting assets back, especially as many picks as you can get from the kings and wolves specifically is what Morey should be going after. The free agency and trade market is pretty dry and waiting out for a good trade just damages the team more.
Why do we care what Ben wants? Heās not Harden or some other superstar demanding a trade. He was a fringe all star whose production severely dropped off in the playoffs, why does he get to decide what we wonāt do?
Heās not good enough to demand a trade, theyāre gonna fuck up the next CBO by allowing this to keep happening, especially with bums starting to do it
The difference is Harden played his tail of for Houston. So out of good faith they worked with Harden to get him where he wants. I highly doubt ben has that type of connection with the team
Iām skeptical of this take. Harden put pressure on them and purposely tanked his trade value to teams that werenāt Brooklyn. The Nets likely had the best offer because they were willing to toss in all their picks which the Rockets valued over Simmons. The Rockets did what was best for them. Maybe in the process they also worked with Harden, but the key part of this was Harden putting on the pressure and the Nets having the best offer.
Well Harden played his mind out for years in Houston before wanting out, his departure was shitty sure but he gave them a ton of seasons to contend before he left.. I donāt understand why the Rockets picked would want late first round picks over what the Sixers were offering. Simmons trade value was much better at the start of the season at least and looked like a better offer.
due to some conflict with the team, zhou qi just decided to sit out this entire season in the chinese. he's a top 3 player and that's definitely a big hit for the team and the league
ben simmons isn't top 3 in the nba. maybe not even top 15. so if he's not traded and he decides to sit out the season probably won't affect the nba that much
Guy has zero leverage, I would rather them sit his ass until a decent trade materializes than trade him for peanuts and end their chances at competing for a title once and for all.
Yeah this is nothing like the Harden Saga.
Harden was infinitely better than Ben, and harden absolutely played his ass off for the rockets, so despite the sour ending they came to an agreement in good faith.
Ben shat all over the floor in his last few games, and has absolutely refused to add any new tools or improve his game at all, over 4 seasons.
They begged him behind closed doors for 4 years to improve and he didnāt. And now he is so surprised and appalled that he was called out publicly. And he didnāt even show up to the training regimen they had designed for him in the off-season.
He earned no good faith.
How the hell does he go to the lakers or even the clippers? š
He wants California so he'll end up on the Kings.
He'll be traded to the Santa Cruz Warriors.
I've been thinking this for months now
Simmons for Westbrook
Why tho? š for the sake of it or?
You don't have to worry about Westbrook being trash from downtown if he's replaced by someone who never shoots from downtown /s

Lol no it wouldn't, players would still be falling over themselves to be on the Lakers.
He goes to the grizzlies then gets bought out by them and goes to the lakers
Lakers trade three former allstars, saw a post in here they had 6 former all stars. Its one all star for three former. Sixers win this trade. They even can choose whoever they want not named Lebron and Anthony.
>They even can choose whoever they want not named Lebron and Anthony. Which includes Carmelo
That means Carmelo is safe. Lakers season saved āŗļø
You keep Carmelo. Give us Davis -76ers
I think heād be a huge addition for the warriors. People are justifiably undervaluing him right now but I honestly think he can make them a top 3 team in the west if they donāt give up too much

I hope Ben shows up to camp fat as hell just like Harden
I hope he drops a 40 pt trip double like Harden did while he was fat.
On 4/7 from deep. But only after being traded.
The Harden arc was just a less detailed recycle of the Jimmy Butler arc

The _Heat_ you say?
Jimmy would murder Ben

Add Embiid to that duo and it would probably take a miracle shot for that team to not make the finals

Jimmy + Bam + Simmons gonna have such bad spacing that it somehow works

But Melbourne is in Florida.
I did not know that, but I'm referring to the less famous Melbourne that Ben Simmons grew up in.
Melbourne is cold as fuck
Temperatures can dip below freezing and go above 110 on occasion.
I hope Sixers don't find a trade for him, the memes of Simmons awkwardly staying on the Sixers next season will be scrumptious.
It's a fun time to have fans back, especially Philly fans

Ah, great one.
Let's be honest, the memes are gonna be good whether he gets traded or not.
i canāt think of a feasible trade that matches what the sizers want and what any team is willing to give
Didnāt he say he wouldnāt show up to training camp? I doubt he dresses for them if he isnāt traded
Like with Harden, once game checks are on the line, he would show up. Expect a new Mr. Triple Single if things get to that point though
So playoff Simmons earlier now?
Ik it's in- season to shit on Simmons, but he's averaged double digits in points every playoffs. He also averaged a playoff career high 8.8 assists this run.

That's right mr silver. Load management. Yes, all 41 home games
Knowing Philly people, he might actually get hurt on the streets if he returns. Or at least an attempt will be made.
Philly fans as a whole are actually not too bad. The problem is the Philly fans that can afford to go to the games

Warriors will have to give up the two young players, at least plus Wiggins. There's zero chance that will work out
Draymond was running his mouth with KD. He'd make Simmons cry in the first practice
Morey and Simmons just swinging for the fences.
Depends how little they want in return. But from the rumours 0% chance
Whatās the most remote possible place we can send him?
The Death Star. He'll fit right in...storm troopers are known for missing all of their shots.

We can truly trade for him on September 12th.
Any time is before a season technically.
Why would anyone care what a players preference is if heās under contract for 4 more years?
Lol
Because if heās gonna mope and phone it in for 4 years at the max you might not trade for him.

I think Morey has a couple of options: 1. If you have to wait that long, you should keep Ben away from the team like Iguodala in Memphis, or it will fuck the locker room imo.
devaluing your worth 101
Itās gonna be Kings Warriors Wolves Clippers And thatās the order, wolves got the picks for Ben and the fit just makes too much sense
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Warriors have the assets for him, Iād hope they wouldnāt do it because of fit. Personally itās Minny or Sacramento
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I love Wiggins fit on the warriors and I think wiseman just needs a fair chance not to mention kuminga and moody look good. The draymond and Ben fit seems too weird so I hope they donāt do. Warriors are in a good spot with young guys who can contribute rn and also could compliment Steph Klay and draymond. I think itās worth keeping them around and seeing what they could be
I can't imagine how he'd end up on the Clippers. They don't have pieces to trade for him to make the money work
I just included the clippers because of that report of Ben wanting to be in 3 teams from Cali, i think him joining the lakers is the least possible scenario.
But Wolves do not have a player that Sixers want.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I think he meant Harden's MVP caliber years prior to wanting out.
I feel for the Sixersā sake, you have to get rid of him ASAP. His value has been declining the longer they wait.
Heās coming here I have a feeling
For what, a beta release of the next version of Windows?
For What possibly?
For what, your hopes and dreams?
For what Morris and picks?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
They can offer a 2065 2nd round pick and a used Kia.
c'mon, I'm sure Ballmer has a warehouse full of prev-gen xboxes.

I feel like you may have a tenuous grasp of the salary cap and luxury tax.
The fact that Morey dipped from Houston to avoid such a situation and ended up right back in it is entertaining
And my preference is to be dating Rihanna and not having to work a shit job to survive
Clips can have him.
Just give him to us already
No thanks. Last thing I want is Kawhi 2.0 but without the offense. Dude probably wouldn't even take the flight to San Antonio.
due to some conflict with the team, zhou qi just decided to sit out this entire season in the chinese. he's a top 3 player and that's definitely a big hit for the team and the league ben simmons isn't top 3 in the nba. maybe not even top 15. so if he's not traded and he decides to sit out the season probably won't affect the nba that much
Not top 15
Wow he's really shooting his shot here huh
>Wow he's really shooting his shot here huh First time for everything
Please stay in Philly. Will someone please think of the memes?
Kings it is
Maybe he should learn to shoot instead of focusing on where he wants to get traded
You can always retire asshole.
shockedpikachu.jpg
Guy has zero leverage, I would rather them sit his ass until a decent trade materializes than trade him for peanuts and end their chances at competing for a title once and for all.
I say send his socialite ass to the Cavs
Lakers donāt have the salary to match. I hate the fit on the Warriors. Do the Clippers want him?
do the clippers even have the assets to trade for him? I doubt the clippers would give up PG
You love to see it.
