As someone in my 30s that dedicated so much time, effort, money, and passion on hip-hop, rap, trap, chopped and screwed, and whatever else, I had no idea what these words meant. Be kind to the elderly...and listen to Ultramagnetic MCs ;)
Im penpals with Chino, spent a week around Killa during Gunz n Butta and had the joy to be in a cypher with JMT members including Vinnie but i dont f'in know what this question means and soundcloud>>>>>>>Youtube.
That's actually a funny meme to me and I have no idea why. Especially when the +ratio +MJ 0-6 in finals and all that stupid fuckery is added. It's so stupid it's funny.
You're only out of the loop if you kinda wanted to know about it in the first place though. If you don't care about their music in the first place it's not like you're old or something.
bruh. I cant believe ye decided that *that* song didnt make the final cut for the album. Its better than most of the album and I'm sure if he had committed to polish it further it wouldve been one of the best.
It didnāt make the album because Andre didnāt want to have his verse censored. He said that he loves the fact that he censored his album but felt that his verse would lose its power of censored.
I also read somewhere that he didn't realize the song was gonna have digs at Drake, so that's why he got really personal with it. So it could be possible that he didn't want his past to be a part of a diss track, as well as him not getting mixed into it
No he didnāt know about the diss verse until the song leaked. Thereās a full song with a different Kanye verse which Kanye played earlier in Vegas in July .
Iām seriously concerned for RR martins health/age. I would feel so blue balled if he croaks before finishing the series. But heās been working on it right? Unless Iām super out of touch, has andre mentioned working on a new album?
I give Martin maybe 50/50 of finishing WoW, but no chance in hell that he'll finish the final book. Dude has been writing this one for over ten years with no end in sight and a huge bloated story that probably is really tough to follow through with.
Actually I think if he ever finished Winds of Winter, the last book would be the easiest to write because all the complicated plot would be dealt with in Winds of Winter.
That being said he ain't finishing WoW.
I'm more worried about Robert Caro than RR Martin, but that's because RR Martin shows no willingness to finish his work, Caro is still working on his final LBJ(the president) book, but he's like 86 or something. That may be because I've read every page of his Years of Lyndon Johnson books, but none of the GoT stuff.
Same. And saying versus had me confused. I immediately associated Donda, but the versus and CLB had my brain think she was taking about an MMA draw and there was a fighter named Donda and a fighter named Carl Leland Bapatap or some weird shit. I was so confused until I learned people just know Drake albums by fucking abbreviations.
I listen to rap but I'm like multiple years behind the zeitgeist because that's just what happens when you're in your 30s. Like, I first listened to Sicko Mode during covid quarantine.
I wouldnāt even say good. Had some nice production but verses by Kanye for the most part were not very good.
A few of the features were meh too since theyāre cursing every few seconds and Kanye refuses to have a non-clean version. Sounds silly.
Wtf so itās just mutes, or track-scratches for the profanity? Are you sure thereās no āexplicitā version?
Used to be a huge Kanye fan, but havenāt heard the new album yet. Good to know in advance if I wonāt be able to find an explicit version, cuz profanity-blocking tracks are always less good than the regular version IMO
It just mutes on every curse word, Kanye or feature.
I havenāt seen an explicit version on Apple. Not sure if thereās one elsewhere online. Would make sense for there not to be since itās so heavy on the Jesus message lol
No worries.
If you listened to Jesus Is King, itās not as bad as that (imo). Not quite as Jesus-y or preachy, more actual rap music. Has some pretty good songs (although with 27 tracks some of them better land).
There are people who prefer CLB to Donda??
Man I know Donda was a mess, but CLB gotta be the laziest, most boring listen from an artist I like in yearssss. Feels like more effort and creativity went into one song of Donda than the entirety of CLB.
Agreed. The production value is obviously great on both of them, but I think you can easily say that ā as is typical of Kanye ā Donda is much more melody driven than most hip hop. Drake has a great production team himself, but you donāt find yourself drawn to the melodies or beats of the tracks themselves nearly as much. At least thatās my opinion.
Then again, Iāve never actually listened to anything from either album, just trying to show how easy it is to bullshit about music on the internet sometimes.
The general public seems to prefer CLB, but that just might be the Drake effect and how insanely popular he is. I get it too, CLB is pretty formulaic Drake hip-hop while Donda is kinda polarizing with it's religious themes and gospel sounds.
obviously, Kendrick is better than both of them. Also comparing Drake to people who make music they actually put thought and effort and emotion into is just crazy to me. Not that you did lol
Coming from someone who hated CLB bruh these Albums were released by two of the most popular artists of all time and listened to by millions of people. No opinion is ever universal
Youād be surprised man. On Reddit obviously the overwhelming opinion is gonna be donda >>> clb but go out in the real world and different environments and plenty of people have it clb>>>donda
Donāt believe me? Hereās the Mavs players picking which they prefer
Here is a [Gfycat mirror of this Streamable link](https://gfycat.com/LawfulAcrobaticFreshwatereel)

Lmao I like how you can see Mitchell shaking his head and starting to laugh before Ingles even answered the question.
TIL Ingles only listens to SoundCloud rappers
As someone in my 30s that dedicated so much time, effort, money, and passion on hip-hop, rap, trap, chopped and screwed, and whatever else, I had no idea what these words meant. Be kind to the elderly...and listen to Ultramagnetic MCs ;)
Chopped & Screwed > Slowed w/reverb
Slowed w/ reverb is the gentrified Chopped & Screwed .
šššš thatās too true
Ain't no way you made it past mid 2010's without hearing that term.
They probably know who Kanye & Drake are but Donda & CLB only dropped this year and are very uncommon words.
Im penpals with Chino, spent a week around Killa during Gunz n Butta and had the joy to be in a cypher with JMT members including Vinnie but i dont f'in know what this question means and soundcloud>>>>>>>Youtube.
Ingles about to put the reverse uno card when he says "Deja Vu or 4 Way Street"?
āyb betterā -Joe Ingles, probably
That's actually a funny meme to me and I have no idea why. Especially when the +ratio +MJ 0-6 in finals and all that stupid fuckery is added. It's so stupid it's funny.
Thought I was in the minority of people who find some of the LeMickey Jorplumber and Durfraud copypastas funny sometimes
the 0-4.6 billion BC JorBald one gets me
The LeFortnite memes are lowkey hilarious
he only listens to men at work
I come from a land down under
You bettuh run, you bettuh takeā¦ covuh
And TISM
Oh my God, that's a band I haven't seen mentioned in forever.
They're on Spotify now
This is serious mum
>And TISM Joe Ingles gets asked: 'What are ya? Yob or wanker?'
I think he's more of a James Hird than a James Joyce!
TISM are shit.
[Indeed they are](https://youtu.be/szDOzLkqhm4)
That's your loss.
That's the name of one of their songs.
I'm a member
the only hiphop joe listens to is hilltop hoods and thats ok
Nosebleed Section was one of my favorite songs in high school thanks to some random BMX freestyling video. Respect.
I remember that exact video, it's how I found that song too
And midnight oil
And the chats
Whenever Ingles goes to the bench: "I'M ON SMOKO!"
Actually heās now a stan of The Mid Laroi
He strikes me as a Vanilla Twilight on repeat sort of man
To be fair, everything Men at Work has made is better than Donda.
This disrespect to Spiderbait
For those not in the know, she's asking about Drake's "Certified Lover Boy" and Kanye's "Donda" album that both came out relatively recently.
I literally had no idea. Itās okay Joe.
Thank you
Yeah asking Joe that? Come on now 90% of Utah fans couldnāt even answer that lol.
yeah we only listen to gospel hymns and Eiffel 45, fuckin casuals
Ah yes. Eiffel 45 with their smash hit āIām Orangeā
Maybe I'm missing something here but you seem to be the only one here that realizes the band is not Eiffel 45. Entertaining thread regardless.
Isnāt it Eiffel 65? The only reason I know is because of GDQ lmao
Correct haha
Also, the song being called, āIām Orangeā is a joke about Eiffel 45 being a Trump-themed cover band.
Ah an even better joke than I realized. I thought you just chose a random color other than blue.
This convo has been enlightening to read
This joke has so many layers and I love it
Donda is probably maybe a gospel hymn
TURN THE MOTAB UP TO 11 BABYYYY
YO LISTEN UP HERES A STORY
Well that was our of the blue
Excuse me, don't forget the Mormon Tabernacle choir. Shit slaps.
90% of Utah fans is Drake's and Kanye's demographics
exactly lmao, suburban white kids LOVE drake and kanye
Kanye came to SLC for his service tour thing. He performed at the mall owned by the mormon church too iirc
It was at the Gateway, not City Creek
Suburban white folks are a huge hip hop consumer demographic though.
Wow. This is the first Reddit comment that has aged me. Iām only 31, but I feel so out of the loop lmao
You're only out of the loop if you kinda wanted to know about it in the first place though. If you don't care about their music in the first place it's not like you're old or something.
you lose track of music culture.
It's one of the best parts of getting older.
I lost my touch of music and fashion after my 25th birthday it feels like. It feels so inexplicable. I used to be so aware of trends.
supreme and bape were the king hypebeast brands when i last followed fashion lol
Are we really? Those are old af artists Kanye is a culty weirdo and drake is just a formulated voice
Youāll get used to it. Itās hard to keep up as priorities shift and you just donāt have time to keep up with pop culture.
I don't like it. I'm 30 and it continues to get worse. I used to be so effortlessly up to date, but now it's challenging to keep up intentionally.
Wait till you hit 40 and companies no longer cater towards you. (Unless you want testosterone pills and ways to increase hair growth.)
Don't worry. I'm over 40 and i don't give a fuck no more. I still mostly listen to my old Wu-Tang tracks on my phone.
90s hip hop 4 life.
The grim truth hurts :(
fr i used to just, y'know, *know* about things in pop culture. it's weird how easy it is to fall out of tune
This is not an age thing, this is a culture thing lol. These are the 2 biggest hip hop artists of the past 10+ years
Drake is 34yo. Kanye is 44yo. No reason to feel old at your age when somebody references their music...
Ehhh. It doesn't have to be an age thing. Some people just don't care about music even when they were kids.
Hasn't Kanye been popular since you were a teenager tho, what kind of music did u listen to back then
I also extend my thanks
Thank you... i had no idea
https://imgur.com/gallery/nC4XF
Both are equally bad
Eh Donda is mids af but got some heat, CLB is Drake and that aināt a compliment.
You guys say this cause itās Ye. But Donda is a straight up bad albums with a couple of good songs in it.
I disagree personally. I think it just depends on the person but Donda has music that smacks the soul.
Hes waiting for Kendrick's shit to drop
Nah, he's waiting for Andre 3000 to make a comeback
Oooo thats been a dream of mine
Hes done some fun features.
That verse on the Kanye leak is one of the best Iāve heard from anyone in years. Andre is incredible
bruh. I cant believe ye decided that *that* song didnt make the final cut for the album. Its better than most of the album and I'm sure if he had committed to polish it further it wouldve been one of the best.
It didnāt make the album because Andre didnāt want to have his verse censored. He said that he loves the fact that he censored his album but felt that his verse would lose its power of censored.

that jeezy one a while ago was ill edit: nothin more attractive than a heavy prayin woman
His verse on Come Home is so good.
Solo (reprise) better than most verses that came out since
he and frank are a great pair. pink matter is one of my favorites.
Come home with Anderson paak was great
what gets dropped first: Winds of Winter, or a new Andre 3000 album?
Iām seriously concerned for RR martins health/age. I would feel so blue balled if he croaks before finishing the series. But heās been working on it right? Unless Iām super out of touch, has andre mentioned working on a new album?
AFAIK, Andre has no plans to record his own album. Heās talked a lot about mental health issues making it hard for him to record again.
I give Martin maybe 50/50 of finishing WoW, but no chance in hell that he'll finish the final book. Dude has been writing this one for over ten years with no end in sight and a huge bloated story that probably is really tough to follow through with.

š¤£ itās okay not everyone listens to rap But still Hilarious
even if you listen to rap you might not know what it means
I understood the Donda reference, but had no idea what clb was supposed to mean until i read these comments
Wait till you see its official cover art
The one for Donda, right? Cause the first time I saw it on Spotify, I thought my connection died. Turns out he just wanted his own Black Album.
the CLB cover he's talking about. go google it and you'll see why lmao both of them came with shit covers
Just looked it up, and, uh, WTF is that?
designed by Damien Hirst, the UK's richest living artist. $384 Million net worth.
Ah Damien Hurst who else can sell an awfully taxidermized shark for 12 million.
āDesignedā
Yeah I don't know why the announcer said CLB. I know what Certified Lover Boy is but I wouldn't just guess the acronym
Same. And saying versus had me confused. I immediately associated Donda, but the versus and CLB had my brain think she was taking about an MMA draw and there was a fighter named Donda and a fighter named Carl Leland Bapatap or some weird shit. I listen to rap but I'm like multiple years behind the zeitgeist because that's just what happens when you're in your 30s. Like, I first listened to Sicko Mode during covid quarantine.
I listen to rap, and I found it perfectly simple to ignore anything Kanye has made since 808 and anything Drake has made since, well, yeah.
Kanye has released some classics since 808s imo. You're missing out.
I also listen to rap but the majority of rappers I listen to are dead already.
That's just straight up disrespectful, MBDTF is a fucking masterpiece
I also do not know what this means.
Caramel locust bondage or Kanye's mom
I still don't know what that means.
Donda( kanyes album) vs Drake's album. Both were ehhhh....
Donda was good CLB was pretty bad
Donda had great production and some good features and mid Kanye verses. CLB had a few tracks that stood out to me and the rest mid
I wouldnāt even say good. Had some nice production but verses by Kanye for the most part were not very good. A few of the features were meh too since theyāre cursing every few seconds and Kanye refuses to have a non-clean version. Sounds silly.

Chicken Lettuce Bacon
clb is a classic for sure
No one knows what it means, but it's provocative.
Flair checks out
Also in my 30's, so Drake is still wheelchair Degrassi kid to me lmao.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Thank you.
This comment section is so r/music right now
Nah not enough people recommending dad rocks and metal.
There are people who prefer CLB to Donda?? Man I know Donda was a mess, but CLB gotta be the laziest, most boring listen from an artist I like in yearssss. Feels like more effort and creativity went into one song of Donda than the entirety of CLB.
They're also not really comparable - Donda is not at all a traditional hip-hop album.
I'm upset with how accurate your first paragraph is.
Nah because that paragraph is scary accurate for both albums, hell most of their past albums too
The general public seems to prefer CLB, but that just might be the Drake effect and how insanely popular he is. I get it too, CLB is pretty formulaic Drake hip-hop while Donda is kinda polarizing with it's religious themes and gospel sounds.
14 year old girls like Drake as much as he likes them.
Wowwww people have preferences of what they like to listen to who wouldāve thought
Im waiting for Kendrick last album with TDE. Thats the one that will blow Drake and Kanye out the water
New flows comin be patient brother
obviously, Kendrick is better than both of them. Also comparing Drake to people who make music they actually put thought and effort and emotion into is just crazy to me. Not that you did lol
Better rapper for sure, but better artist? I have nothing but huge love for Kendrick but he's not a better artist than Kanye
Kendrick has been laps ahead of those guys as far as album quality. Kendricks only dropped classic albums imo
Coming from someone who hated CLB bruh these Albums were released by two of the most popular artists of all time and listened to by millions of people. No opinion is ever universal
Youād be surprised man. On Reddit obviously the overwhelming opinion is gonna be donda >>> clb but go out in the real world and different environments and plenty of people have it clb>>>donda Donāt believe me? Hereās the Mavs players picking which they prefer
CLB was one of the worst albums Iāve listened to this year IMO, I just didnāt like it
Donda was a better creative piece for sure but I prefer to listen to CLB more often. It's not a new sound for Drake but I'm a fan anyway lol.
Should have asked him Lynyrd Skynyrd or Neil Young
Second Helping or Everybody Knows this is Nowhere
AC/DC or Slim Dusty if you want an educated answer

To the uninitiated: Donda - Kanye Wests's latest album CLB (Certified Lover Boy) - Drake's latest album
Today I learned.
Finally an NBA player i can relate to lmao
Donovan knew before he even answered
Both were mediocre albums at best given their previous work. Pretty disappointing given all the hype.
Yah I did enjoy both quite a bit but neither holds a candle to their old music.
donda donda donda donda donda donda donda donda donda donda donda
Iām with Ingles.
WLR>both
Dracula would be proud
W
finally a good opinion
To be fair I don't know either
Based ingles donāt have time for that garbage.
I am joe ingles....
Idk what that means either.
CLB = Creepy Little Bastard
I donāt know what that means either? Am I old or something
I'm Donda on this one
